Debuting at his 20th year at Pitti Fragranze on September 13th is the 20th “stone poem” in perfumer, artist, jeweler, Oliver Durbano’s evocative fragrance collection.  His perfumes, all made by hand in Grasse, find harmonies in the natural and spiritual realms. Unlike many of his past perfumes over the years Olivier Durbano The Gushing Water Stone is not based on a gemstone.

Olivier Durbano is deeply spiritual and each composition always comes with a number which has deeper significance; here, The Gushing Water Stone 20 is based in part on two passages from the Bible and references numerology:

Who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water“.  Psalm 114:8

“Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank”.  Numbers 20:11

The number 20: The Judgment, Fire element, blown by the angels of blessing, opens the Gates of Intuition to Freedom.

Olivier Durbano The Gushing Water Stone 20 in Olivier’s own poetic words:

“Strikes and stuns

Lacerates the sky, the veil

The Stone trembles, vibrates

Sun and Moon freeze

As One. And the moment

To the earth, with the fingertips

Which is Signed

Strikes

Roll the Stone

then breaks

Free thought without veil.

A heart dances, and crowns

Curve the vertigo of the Soul

Explodes and gushes

In the sand of Time, Relics

Faith swirls

The Water that pierces

Blessed

Born of You

Morning Star illuminates the dew

O … Joy

Mari e

Water gushes out like a Breath

Go through the Gate

Blessed be Time

Contemplate Completeness

And streams into new Life

The Living Source

Trembles”

Top notes: Frankincense, marjoram, juniper, coriander, bamboo leaves; Heart notes: Aleppo pine, liquorice, gurjum balm, broom, fenugreek, sesame, marine christe; Base notes: vetiver, ambergris, benzoin, myrrh, muscs, labdanum
