Creative Director Christopher Chong of Amouage spent many years being trained and tutored by the world’s leaders in Opera. In a CaFleureBon article, he said “Opera truly is a disciplined and emotional pursuit that taught me the true understanding of creating a masterpiece.’ For Opux IX, ninth volume in the Library Collection, he turns to Giuseppe Verdi’s magnificent La Traviata, an adaptation of the novel La Dame aux Camelias, ‘The Lady of the Camellias’, for inspiration. The new fragrance is a scented story of betrayal and redemption as portrayed by the iconic Maria Callas in the 1958 Lisbon production of the Opera.
