NEW FRAGRANCE: AJNE Perfumes “YUZU” – A Cocktail For Your Nose

The yuzu cocktail at Manhattan’s Bar Mesa is one of the most famous drinks in the world, infused with juice from one of the most rare and precious fruits. The Japanese yuzu is a true delicacy and is the inspiration for Ajne’s summer fragrance, named simply, Yuzu.

Yuzu has an exquisite citrus aroma that lays somewhere between grapefruit and mandarin with subtle overtones of bergamot and lime. Blended with grapefruit and notes of floral Ajne’s Yuzu will lift your spirits and make you feel both lighter and younger. Studies have proven that if women wear grapefruit they look up to 6 years younger. Jane Hendler of Ajne says, “It’s also a natural appetitive suppressant and can help you lose weight which is perfect for bathing suit season! Yuzu has a refreshing and uplifting effect on the body while calming the mind”. (Editor’s Note: please do not drink this perfume to lose weight).

Their fragrances are also based on the ancient Chakra system so they even have a balancing effect on the emotions and the physical body. Perfumer Jane Hendler also specializes in custom fragrances where she offers clients the opportunity to create a 100% natural, totally individualized fragrance. Hendler has blended for celebrities including Kate Walsh, Jessica Lowndes, Kate Beckinsale, Molly Sims, Paris Hilton,Pierce Brosnan, Adrien Grenier, Rob Lowe and Terrence Howard… (and CaFleureBon editor in chief Michelyn Camen).

Ajne creates natural fragrances for home, bath as well as skincare. The oils they use to blend are from all around the globe and come from organic farmers in the world’s most exotic locations. These farmers only grow sustainable crops. All of Ajne’s products are paraben, phthalate, and synthetic free; they are vegan, and packaged entirely in glass.

Yuzu retails between $40 and $75 and the pendant sells for $60.

  • I am behind with smelling the last few launches of Ajne, but this sounds lovely. I wore my sample of Printemps recently and got compliments from friends, which almost never happens to me!

  • Yuzu is a favorite of mine, and I have yet to use it in a perfume. Ajne’s sounds beautiful, as do all her perfumes from the reviews I’ve read. Viva la natural perfumers! Oh, and an American perfumer, too, still in the spirit of the July 4th posts.

  • Yet another great American perfume range that it looks like I will have to familiarize myself with 🙂
I agree Yuzu being really wonderfully refreshing in the summer, and this one sounds lovely.
