Since 2022, during some terrible health challenges – I became introspective about my life thus far. All the decades of good health, enjoying life and living and studying in various countries (and jumping on planes for international travels like I was hopping on a bus) and the daredevil part of me even loved skydiving – all those travels seemed like a distant memory.

During this time our most wonderful friend Bertrand Duchaufour made sure that I was distracted from those awful chemos and four operations. It was a life test but I did not cry even once – I went back to my childhood, travels to India and the flower markets with every visit and tuberose was what kept floating in my mind’s nose. Neela Vermeire Creations ESHAL is a perfume from all those introspective moments.

The green aspect makes it very real and special as it is a smell that I can go back in decades with jasmine and Mysore sandalwood paste from ceremonies to a face mask. I floated back and forth resting, dreaming and working during those 26 months of health nightmare.

I wish to thank each and every one of my friends from the fragrant world and non-perfume world friends – who gave me the iron clad strength and courage to recover gently and be able to launch a beauty for the whole world to enjoy. –Neela Vermeire of Neela Vermeire Creations (via email to Michelyn)

Tuberose has been a constant in my life intertwined with the fragrant tapestry of tropical blossoms. From childhood to each return to India, this queen of flowers, etching its lush, opulent scent into my soul. Neela Vermeire Creations ESHAL is a verdant tuberose, an olfactory embrace designed to uplift and transport you to moments of pure happiness. A parfum to illuminate even the most uncertain days, evoking joy and serenity with every breath. Neela Vermeire Creations ESHAL opens with a luminous burst of citrus notes, featuring Red Mandarin, Bitter Orange, and Lime, intertwined with the green freshness of Petitgrain. The heart reveals the intoxicating richness of Tuberose Absolute, enhanced by the warmth of Cinnamon Oil and the resinous depth of Galbanum Oil. A unique touch of Turmeric Oil adds an exotic spice, while Beeswax Absolute lends a subtle sweetness. The composition is anchored by a sensual base of Patchouli Oil, Vanilla Absolute, Peru Balsam Resin, and Labdanum Absolute, creating a lasting and memorable sillage. Via Press Release

Wow this is a beautiful story of hope and friendship! Eshal sounds like a floral phoenix blooming with new vitality. Very touching.

  • I can totally relate how a scent can get one through tough times. I had one for when my daughter was going trough her back operation and recovery. I only had a quick try on paper of Eshal during Esxence but I really liked it, together with Pichola, another tuberose.

I’m so excited about this new release! Plus I love tuberose, it’s one of my favorite flowers. I will definitely need to get my nose on this one!
