When you smell a perfume do you see fireworks?  That’s exactly what happened when Editor Sebastian Jara was visiting Beverly Hills Perfumery a few weeks ago and tried on  the new for 2019 Montale Sensual Instinct.  I admit I have not tested it and was intrigued and surprised by his review since the name would seem it fit a BIG floral and instead of hearing fireworks my mind went to Marvin Gaye.  But this is Montale Paris after all, known for BIG perfumes that garner BIG compliments.  There are touches of roses , but Montale Sensual Instinct is an explosion of gourmand  and boozy notes at the heart and top, sending out sparks of spices such as saffron and cardamom.

    This one sounds so good! My ears perked when Sebastian said it was a Montale twist on BR540, my favorite from MFK. It’s also interesting that Sebastian says he picks up a whiskey note in the top, but fragrantica doesn’t have any boozy notes listed. Thanks for the giveaway!

    I have never smelled fireworks in a bottle before, but there is a first time for everything. I am most curious about the note of saffron, as I hear Sebastian talk about it often, but I have never gotten the opportunity to smell it for myself. All in all, this sounds like another great release from Montale. (Commenting from FL, USA).

    Sebastian always provide simple yet appealing description of the fragrances which attracts more and more people. He got me as soon as he said that Montale Sensual Instinct smells like fireworks. I am originally from India and our biggest festival is all about fireworks similar to July 4th hence if I win this I would surely gonna be the happiest person. I am in USA.

    The name itself makes this fragrance sound pretty interesting. I’m glad Sebastian broke it down for us. There were a lot of notes listed in this one and I could see how that could be overwhelming if they weren’t balanced. I enjoyed Sebastian’s description of the experience reminding him of explosiveness or fireworks. I don’t know that I have ever tried a fragrance that I could describe as being that big and bold which is intriguing. I would love to try this one!

    A fragrance compared to fireworks….count me in. Sebastian is always spot on for his reviews. This must be amazing. Lots of yummy notes. I do like Intense Cafe, however, my favorite Montale is Patchouli Leaves. I love that there is patchouli in this as well. Sounds like a winner. USA.

    I’ve been a long time dabbler in scents, but I’ve only recently discovered Sebastian’s channel. He’s one of the few youtubers that give his honest opinion and describes the scents with incredible accuracy and precision. I’ve been really into gourmand scents lately, and the scent profile of this perfume has some heart notes that sounds just incredible. I would love to add this scent to my collection and experience it for myself.

    Hey Sebastian!!
    I heard about this new fragrance about a month ago from Beard and Fragrance reviews. However, It is compared to Baccarat Rouge 540, Montale’s Intense Cafe, and also Parfums de Marly Oajan. Yet, it does its own sensual thing! Wow!! I have got to break the bank and get my hands on this date night/panty droppa! Yes, this does sound amazing and you’ve described it with so much enthusiasm!

    I was taken by how Sebastian described the notes as “coming in and out” which sounds like an exciting fragrance experience. There are a lot of different notes in this, but it sounds like Montale has engineered them to emerge in a pleasing way.

    I absolutely love watching Sebastian’s reviews. He is hands down one of my favorite if not my favorite YouTube reviewer out there for fragrances. A huge part of my collection I owe to him turning me on to specific kinds of fragrances and Sensual Instinct sounds like it will be another instant love for me.     I haven’t tried this one but I have tried Intense Cafe and Honey Aoud by Montale and I really love both of those. I love Montale in general because they offer some unique affordable niche fragrances packaged in really cool unique bottles. What I liked most is that Sebastian said it smelled similar to Baccarat Rouge and Intense Cafe and I really love both of those fragrances.

    I was at work when I got the notification lol… I was excited all day because I have been really curious about this fregrance but havent found a place in my city that has any… but he sold me when he described the rosey notes and how he made me picture a giant bouquet of fresh roses on a table top as I eat a big fresh slice of tiramisu… thank you for the opportunity to win a bottle

    Authentic and naturally talented Fragrance reviewers don’t come a dime a dozen. I’ve been watching videos by fragrance reviewers for close to 2 years and Sebastian, naturally sets his content apart from others: not only are his reviews relatable and down to earth – but they’re very informative.     It that’s the case Sensual Instinct will be top notch smell. Both Intense Cafe ana Baccarat 540 are fragrances with cult following , for s reason. Own the first one, and decant of the second one.

    Sebastian, great review of Montale Sensual Instinct. Wow, this sounds like the perfect all around fragrance with so many gourmand notes I enjoy. An amazing citrus, aromatic, and boozy opening, followed by rose, tirmisu, and coffee and ending with Vanilla, Cedar, Patchouli, and Musk. You can’t get better than that. I am from the USA.

    Always have liked Sebastian’s reviews. No matter the number he does, he seems to find a way to descriptively allow me to visualize the scent as he walks through drydown and base notes.     I’ve never tried a Montale fragrance but Sebastian’s review of Sensual Instinct makes me want to try this one. I’ve not yet experienced a fragrance with a drier rose note, I’ve really only smelled velvety rich rose scents so far. I am also curious about a coffee note. That is also new to me.     Those notes sound absolutely amazing, and I agree with other reviewers who mention that it’s not every day Sebastian gets this excited about a fragrance in his videos! The concept of it smelling somewhat like Intense Cafe meets Baccarat Rouge while still maintaining its own unique profile makes it even more interesting to me.     Citrusy start , lovely spices , whiskey and dry rose. Wow
    Sensual Instinct is brand new , but i do own 3 Montale fragrances Chocolate Greedy , Oudmazing and Vanilla Extasy all full bottles.

    If mr. Jara is genuinely impressed by this fragrance, should be a great one.
    Tiramisu is one of my top 10 favorite desserts, so I’m hooked about the idea of Intense Cafe with added whiskey and tiramisu. Boy oh boy.
    By the way in Europe tiramisu is made with a lot more coffee in it , but in the States people seems to not like the so called “traditional tiramisu” , but instead prefer it much sweeter with chocolate and almost no liqueur. Can’t help it, again Pastry Chef is going forward.
    I love potent fragrances, so my appreciation for Montale comes naturally. Own 5 100ml bottles , and Dark Purple is my scent of the day.

    Montale is one of my favorite houses – atm i do own 11 100ml bottles , but Sensual Instinct it probably brand new – never heard of it..Montale’s portfolio is so vast ~170 , or even 180 , and it’s not posible to keep up with all they got.
    If Sebastian claims this rose , patch , whiskey and coffee combo is a “fireworks go off” … i need to sample it asap.Bold statement no doubt .
    Love both fragrances he compared it to – Baccarat Rouge 540 and Intense Cafe . I’m pumped to the max .

    Montale fragrances and Sebastian reviews are like perfect combination. Both I love – bold , straight to the point , honest , and you do remember both for a long time.
    In my collection there’s 2 Montale’s Mukhalat and Amandes Orientales .
    Both are sweet , long lasting clubbing fragrances , and that’s exactly what I except from Sensual Instinct. 10 years ago there was a big hit called “Party like Rockstar” . I have a feeling Sensual Instinct will be the star of the show in the winter .

    Sebastian’s review was awesome and if a fragrance gives you fireworks when you smell it, I am all in for this one. I love the comparison to Baccarat 540 as I am madly in love with that one.     Every time I think about Montale I think about top performance. Vanilla Cake lasts forever on me.
    Sensual Instinct is super interesting because of the unusual combination of notes . I wonder how well coffee, rose , tiramisu and whisky are implemented . Judging by flames is Sebastian eyes we have something special here.
