Montale Arabians Tonka Review + Grown Up Gourmand Draw

Montale Arabians Tonka review

tonka beans and sugar crystals via unsplash and bottle image via Montale

In 2017, Montale launched Arabians, and just last year, in 2019, the house brought out a flanker…that smelt nothing like the original. In fact, Arabians Tonka, has little in common with the 2017 version at all… (an oud with spicy notes and patchouli). Montale Arabians Tonka as the name suggests utilizes tonka (coumarin) but in an interesting way that is perfect for winter …with oud, rose and saffron.  The rose in Montale Arabians Tonka is signature to the brand and at the heart reminds Sebastian of Intense Café. The surprise is that the  sugar crystals at the base isn’t what you might expect; not too  sweet As the name suggests, this fragrance about the many facets of tonka, vanilla-like, spicy/balsamic, but also with hints of amber. There’s nothing gooey or overly sweet about Arabians Tonka, a grown-up gorumand. After all, no one over the age of 7 should ever smell like a cupcake. The longevity and sillage is consistent with what Montale is known for- all day and overnight. –Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief

  • I liked how he said it was basically gourmand light or diet gourmand. I love dry tonka moreso than vanilla. I don’t have a bottle of Montale but have tried quite a few. I’m in USA.

Sebastian always gives great reviews and I’m interested due to the fact that it’s little less sweet & oudy.

I always appreciate Sebastian’s honest take on fragrances. His review of the original Arabians by Montale made me run out and test it and it’s still one of my favorites. When I saw the Tonka version I just flipped with joy. Imagine how excited I was to see Sebastian’s review so soon afterwards.

The original Arabians is a HIGHLY underrated fragrance. I love the fresh but dense nature of the original… And the Cardamom is just lovely. I got a chance to sample Arabians Tonka with my latest BHP purchase. I agree these are pretty distant from each other. It reminds me of Oud Dreams a bit with the sweetness. I would still love to own this amazing fragrance. Thank you!

  • Kirby Copas says:

Ive never had a montale fragrance before but I always wanted one but I have never had the money.

  • Sebastian says it is gourmand but not too sweet. It also has reminders of other popular Montales like intense cafe. I am in US.

  • I liked Sebastian’s description of a chrystalized sugar cane in this fragrance. I don’t currently own any Montale perfume, but would like to try this. I do like tonka in fragrances. Mich USA

Huge Montale fan, but all I have are samples. I’d love to have a full bottle, this sounds delicious! Sebastian is always honest in his reviews, and so far his favorites are mine as well. I’m in the USA.

  • Robert Lewis says:

As usual Sebastian was really detailed in his description of that just the notes but the feeling that came with Arabian Tonka. I don’t currently own any Montale fragrances however I am looking forward to getting my experience with the house.

  • Tony Aiello says:

Would like to enter giveaway, really like the house of Montale and curious about this scent

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always excellent and concise just as he was on this Montale’s Arabians Tonka. I’m a fan on Montale’s fragrances because they last very long, I have 2 of them Intense Cafe and Oudmazing and they’re awesome.
    I’m in New York City.

  • I looked that he compared it to other Montale fragrances that I am familiar with. It sounds right up my alley!

  • I really enjoy the way Sabastian describes the fragrance in a way the you can almost smell the tonka beans. So yummy!

  • HiMyNameIsWaste says:

A drier version of Intense Cafe sounds great. I own a few Montales – Red Vetyver, Nepal Aoud and Full Incense are my favorites from my collection. I do like tonka, especially in Musc Tonkin. I live in the US.

  • Loved the review. I have never tried a Montale fragrance. I love Tonka beans though so I hope I win!

    keep up the good work.

  • Got to know about Montale fragrances from Sebestian! He’s always honest, true to facts and is very detailed in describing perfumes, which I find it hard from other people. Loved this video, for the same reason!

But I am a student, and it is a very expensive product to purchase! Got to smell the original Arabian from a friend who owns it and really loved it. And would love to try the Arabian Tonka as well!

  • Yes. No one over the age of 7 should ever smell like a cupcake! I would love to find a grown up gourmand and Arabians Tonka sounds delectable without being diabetes inducing. I do not own a Montale fragrance but have sampled a few. I’m in the US

  • Gabriel Garcia Leyva says:

    Great review by Sebastian
Glad to hear about the scent and the direction it takes, I have tried other montales, and they do have a incredible output of fragances.

Sebastian always gives great reviews And you can be rest assured that he is never biased to any brand or Perfumer which is a great thing as he is not promoting anyone.

Also, I’m interested due to the fact that it’s little less sweet & oudy. I love Tonka bean as a note as it is a perfect partner of tobacco fragrances and I like it’s smokyness.

I own chocolate greedy and I love it to the core.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s description of how it “sparkles”. I don’t own any Montale fragrances (yet). I enjoy the tonka notes in Armani Code Absolu but it’s not very unique or groundbreaking. Looking forward to Arabians Tonka.

  • Hello!! My name is Detuan, and I just want to say I thoroughly enjoyed this review. I’ve been watching the channel for a lil bit now and I can say I appreciate how thorough Sebastian is with the reviews and I can tell it’s coming from a really realistic stand point. I would for sure love to receive a giveaway bottle for the cologne because it sounds very interesting to me and I think this would be a great cologne I could stand out in while beginning my fragrance collection journey.

  • Kyle Kopacz says:

Tonka bean is one of my favorite notes. I like sweet and gourmand frags so excited to try this. I only own Chocolate Greedy from this house.

  • Sebastian from smelling Great Fragrances introduced me to your fragrance house. I would love an opportunity to participate in the giveaway of Montale Arabians Tonka as I live in the United States. The way he described it, I must try to find a sample.

  • Wayne A Hummel says:

Was considering a purchase of Arabians. But was holding off because of the flanker. But knowing they are very different easies concerns for a redundant purchase

  • I own many montale fragrance I’m a huge fan of the house! I love learning about new releases and I always go to Sebastian’s channel to learn more. I loved his description of the scent and I look forward to smelling Arabians Tonka. Tonka is one of my absolute favorite notes!

  • Hugh Swanzy says:

I was researching Montale’s vanilla fragrances when Sebastian’s video was playing on YouTube. I don’t own Arabians Tonka or any other Montale fragrance. I think this fragrance would be nice because it is not to sweet. I would like one of the vanilla fragrances for a Valentines gift for my wife and I think I would like to try the Ristretto Intense Café Extrait. USA

  • I Love Tonka bean and I Love Gourmand Fragrances and then they added Sugar Cane! I’m really excited about this one, I don’t own a bottle of Montale But Id Love to!!

  • Andrei artimon says:

  • Nice review! Interested in seeing how this compares to the original Arabians since Sebastian said they are pretty different.

  • I would love to explore Montale as a niche brand and this one sounds like a great way to start! I currently own 3 Mancera but no Montale yet! Also, I love tonka as a note in fragrances! 😀

  • I liked how Sebastian described this fragrance as a “diet gourmand” and a dry gourmand that’s sweet but not too sweet. Just his whole description in general was intriguing and made me want to try this fragrance. I never tried the original and dont own any Montales but do have decants and samples of some like Intense Cafe, Sensual Instinct, and Ristretto Intense Cafe all because of Sebastians reviews! I do enjoy tonka as a main note in fragrances and would love to have this one. I live in the U.S. Thanks ak much for the generous draw.

  • Zachary Gonzalez says:

As always, loved Sebastian’s review. Very informative and entertaining. I love how he clearly listed the notes, and compared it to the original Arabians fragrance. I love gourmands, and I love Rose/Oud/Tonka Beans. Would love to give this fragrance a try. I do not own a Montale, but would love to add to my small, beginners collection. New to the fragrance community, and having fun! Thank you.

  • Wonderful review by Sebastian was always. The prominent rose and sugar cane notes intrigues me, as well as its drier character and ambery drydown. Might be the first time I heard a fragrance being described as a “diet gourmand”. The reference to Montale’s Sensual Instinct (or is it sexual instinct? LOL) is also helpful. Have not tried this fragrance house yet but this review has perked my interest in the line. I love tonka bean as a key note in fragrance, such as the lovely Tonka Imperiale! Regards from Boston USA.

  • Robert Latham says:

I enjoyed Sebastian’s YouTube review of Montale Arabians Tonka because of his indepth description of the scent profile. Sebastian is able to convey his thoughts in concise terms that is easy for me to imagine the fragrance. I feel that we have similar taste and our noses smell the same things.

  • I thought Sebastian’s review was very compelling in how he described the the notes as well as how it actually differs from the earlier much more spicy release of 2017! I can’t wait to get my nose on this!

  • Steve.miller6770 says:

Sebastian, is very knowledgeable in the neich parfumes. I’ve purchased several due to his videos, including Mancera Cedrat Boise &Red Tobacco. I would love to try the Montale line as well. Great reviewer. Great taste!

  • I always love Sebastian’s reviews. I’m particularly interested in this fragrance from the notes… I LOVE Tonka Bean and I love Oud… this fragrance seems to have everything I love, Rose, Saffron, Oud, Cinnamon, Tonka Bean with a little Vanilla. I love gourmands, I love Ouds and I love middle eastern inspired scents. This fragrance seems to have everything I love experiencing in a fragrance…. I do not own any Montales at the moment but I do plan on purchasing one very soon (Intense Cafe is definitely on my list). I would love to try out this scent

  • sabrinanoir says:

What I like about Sebastian’s review is that he always gives out the notes of the fragrance he reviews. He also gives examples and relates them to a feel. He really tries to give a visualization of the fragrance and that is what I always look foward too when coming to his channel I love that he described the way the tonka is being used in this fragrance he describes it to be dry but with a spark and that always gives me an idea of what to expect or it gives me a clue on how the fragrance will make me feel.

  • I have samples of Montale gifted by a friend but no Arabians. Thank you Sebastian for a wonderful review. I love this type – oriental/woody/spicy. Plus it is rose oud. Ahhh-mazing! Would love to own Montale Arabians Tonka. Lots love. IL, USA.

  • What interested me most about Sebastian’s review of Montale’s Abrabians Tonka, was the mention of the saffron note. I am new to fragrance and just discovered I am crazy for saffron. I also like tonka, as I have and like a decant of a fragrance that has the name tonka in the title. I don’t have any Montale fragrances yet. I don’t have any full bottles of anything yet, only some small decants. Would love to win this bottle to kick off my full size collection.

  • James Nyland says:

Tonka, rose, saffron, OMG How can I not love this bad boy. I am a huge fan of Montale and would wear this fragrance with pride. PICK ME PICK ME PICK ME!! LoL

Nice review not too sweet sound cool

  • I like how Sebastian did not classify this fragrance exclusively as a gourmand. He definitely has great nose is able to distinguish categories. I’m in USA.

  • Monique Anderson says:

Sebastian’s review makes me want to save and buy a bottle of this. Also, I love that he does alot of unisex colognes because they dont get much attention. I myself love unisex colognes and like to smell yummy. This sounds like a great fit for me

  • Horochy Perez says:

I like his pasion of fragances, I did like Montale Arabians Tonka the notes are just foe me, I do have 2 Montales Fragances, Intense Cofee , Black Aoud I love both, Sebastian was my inpiration to buy it

  • I enjoy all of his takes on the frags he reviews. He introduces me to a lot niche brands that I don’t know about yet. I like how he described the notes and just didn’t list them. The sugar and Tonka combo really intrigues me. I’d love to own a bottle of my own. I don’t currently own any Montale frags but have been recently looking at honey aoud. And yes! I love Tonka bean.

  • Sebastian really made this out to he a high performance scent, I’m very interested in the twist to the original, not necessarily with the addition of Tonka but how rose will be incorporated. Also, on a side note, I’m 30 something and wouldn’t mind if someone smelled like a cupcake. Just as long as they have one to offer!

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

I’ve always wanted to get my nose on Montale fragrances since BBB was always high on their quality and performance. Arabians was definitely one I especially wanted to get my hands on. Arabians + Tonka and other interesting notes on top of that? I’m all for this! Appreciate the opportunity to win a bottle. -Virginia, USA

  • Love the detail Sebastian provides in his reviews of the different notes. I don’t own any Montale (have Mancera Red Tobacco which I love). I don’t own any Tonka-based fragrances but I do thoroughly enjoy the note

  • What’s not to enjoy about Sebastions reviews? He is incredibly knowledgeable in so many areas of fragrance. I watch his videos everyday and try to soak up as much as I can. In this video in particular I really loved how he described Montales’ Arabians Tonka as a dry gourmand, I know exactly what he means. Tonka is one of my all time favorite notes and as a fan girl of the houses of Montale/Mancera, I would be tickled pink and honored to be considered for this giveaway. Thanks Sebestian and a huge thanks to Ca Fleure Bon for hosting this giveaway!

  • Sebastian’s review really piqued my interest. I’ve never tried the house of Montale before but I do love tonka and gourmand fragrances. I really enjoyed Sebastian’s informative view on this scent. It sounds really fantastic. Please enter me in your giveaway. Thanks. Commenting from Kentucky USA.

  • Pranav Kapoor says:

I never owned a Montale fragrance ever in my life, but I have heard a lot of great things about the brand. I like the fact that it’s not too sweet and the rose and oud notes are mellow and work well together. It would make a great date fragrance and fall and winter fragrance as well.

  • Gavin Pollard says:

Rose and Oud are my two favorite notes paired together. I can only imagine how it smells with a saffron note.

  • Karlon Warde says:

Great video. Very detailed and I love the comparative aspect – discussing the two flankers side by side. This video has definitely been informative for me as I have been considering purchasing Arabian. Hopefully I can win a bottle of Arabian Tonka since this formulation seems more appealing.

  • I loved him referring to this as it being a mature gourmand…land who doesn’t love the Montale rose….. sugar an Tonka, yum!!!
I own Ristretto intense (Sebastion’s fault lol)….can’t get enough of Tonka.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s honesty: old version vs the new version. I own and enjoy montale honey aoud. Ive received a sample of arabians Tonka and loved Tonka bean in this fragrance and hope I win a bottle.

  • Karen Maldonado says:

you always make me dreams with so many delicious perfumes … I have intense cafe and I love it .. it is delicious I live in Dallas tx

  • I love how he explained the notes in his fragrances. He really explains it as good as you can without actually smelling the fragrance. I personally have never had a Montale Paris fragrance but have ALWAYS had them on my wish list. Unfortunately a bit our of my price range right now. I would love to give this a shot 100%.

  • Mohamed Tarek Seleem Ahmed says:

Amazing review as usual Sebastian. I’ve always love the sweet middle eastern fragrances.
Would be very happy to win the giveaway
    Lexington Kentucky here

  • Sebastian’s review was gourmand, I love how he breaks down the scent vividly and concisely, there’s no extra fluff. Looking forward to trying this scent.

  • Oud is pretty much all I need, but tonka adds a different feel to the typical rose and oud mix that I’m definitely keen on trying. I’ve yet to try Montale. One thing I liked about Sebastian’s take on this is the references to other Montale fragrances to take a smell at. Definitely need to get together a list of samples to try.
    I live in the US.

  • Glenn Gajewski says:

Left a longer comment on the video review. Once again thank you for sharing your incredible knowledge on juices and houses I would have never been introduced to. Love Tonka and while never trying Montale yet I plan on adding a few of their fragrances to my growing inventory.

  • Armen Tutundjian says:

Great review from Seb once again thank you for the opportunity for the give away love montale

  • Sebastian’s review is very informative and interesting, when he mentioned sugar cane that caught my attention.

  • Dry gourmand.. now im super interested. First off I love longevity of Montale Fragrances – especially red tobacco. Big Tonka bean fan here can wait to sniff that fragrance into my collection… Thanks Sebastian for the hearty review man!

  • A light gourmand from Montale sounds ideal. I like tonaka as a key note, sometimes. I don’t currently own a Montale fragrance.

  • IvanVelikov says:

Grown-up gourmand with sugar canes, tonka and saffron? Sounds wonderful.
Intense Cafe Sebastian mentioned is a fragrance with cult following, for a good reason I believe. It’s my second favorite Montale after Chocolate Greedy , my third favorite being Honey Aoud.
Amped up tonka beans in Arabians Tonka intrigues me a lot.
    Fingers crossed
    Thank you all
    USA

  • This does sound amazing! I like that Sebastian described it as a drier/”diet gourmand” fragrance, because sometimes tonka fragrances can be super cloying! I am in Pennsylvania!

  • Montale fragrances , and Sebastian reviews = perfect combination. Both I love – bold , straight to the point , honest , and you do remember both for a long time.
I have no experience with original Intense Cafe, i went straight to Ristretto Intense Cafe. Sensual Instinct was mentioned too , but I haven’t smelled it yet.
In my collection there’s 3 Montale fragrances, Ristretto Intense Cafe, Mukhalat and Amandes Orientales . All are sweet , long lasting clubbing fragrances , and that’s exactly what I personally except from Arabians Tonka.
Yes I like dominant tonka bean fragrances.
Thank you Sebastian , Europerfumes and Cafleurebon . What a draw.
    In US

  • I haven’t tried any Montale fragrances, but Sebastian has me very intrigued. I like the idea of a gourmand with rose and tonka!

  • I like the name, Arabian Tonka. Sebastian does a wonderful video and I like his descriptions; they’re so quickly relatable. Not Ooey gooey or syrupy and no one over the age of 7 should smell like a cupcake. Yes!
This sounds wonderful and I’d love to try it. In the US.

  • If Sebastian calls certain fragrance “top gourmand” Arabians Tonka should be a special one.
I trust his nose . Tonka and saffron are always nice additions to me.
After watching the video, I was instantly reminded of me eating Rose Chocolate tart , with tonka beans and saffron ( with rose water actually in it). Pastry Chef in the house.
I love potent fragrances, so my appreciation for Montale comes naturally. Own 5 100ml bottles , and Dark Purple is my favorite one.
I love to cook with tonka, and also to smell it.
Appreciate the review , and the giveaway campaign

  • Thanks for another great review, Sebastian! Im interested to sample this as you mentioned it’s less sweet and oudy. I’ve sampled several Montales but I don’t own a bottle yet so I’m excited for this draw. My favorite Montale is Intense Cafe. Thanks for this opportunity. – CA, USA

  • I love to listen to Sebastian and his glorious reviews. Less sweet Tonka is different and the oud in is sounds different too. I love Montale fragrances especially Black Aoud. USA

  • i enjoy sebastian’s note descriptions, as i can usually visualise them. montale arabians & montale arabians tonka both sound intriguing. tonka beans r fascinating in themselves. i know chanel coco mademoiselle & joop! homme (both utilise tonka beans), so montale arabians tonka will b lovely w/the oud, rose & saffron

  • I have two Montales and I enjoy both of them. I’m always interested in a fragrance that can be not what I expect and this sounds like that. Sebastian’s review is great as always. Thanks for the review and the generous draw. I’m in the USA

  • redwheelbarrow says:

I love Montale, tonka, and Sebastian’s reviews! This one sounds like another great one. Sensual Instinct and Intense Cafe are fantastic and if Arabians Tonka is in the same category I will have to try it. Thank you for the draw! I’m in the US.

  • I only have many tester samples of Montale fragrances. This one sounds right for me with the slightly sweeter gourmand scent. Some of the Montales are to manly to me, but this sounds just right. USA

  • Every time I think about Montale I think about top performance. Vanilla Cake lasts forever on me , Sensual Instinct is super strong too. Sampled the second one because of Sebastian Cafleurebon review , and it was so impressive I got it next week.
Judging by the flames in Sebastian eyes we have gorgeous sugar canes , tonka and rose combination.
Tonka bean fragrances are popular for a reason 🙂
Thank you for the generosity, the review was enjoyable too , it’s Sebastian after all.

  • Gabriel Cote says:

Very interesting and in depth review. I’m very interested in trying this scent, the description of a dry gourmand seems very unique to me and definitely a frag to try.

  • Bought so much fragrances because of Sebastian – mostly niche. He has a way to convince people they should buy , or at least try fragrances he’s reviewing.
I’ll be visiting Luckyscent late February, and Arabians Tonka is now on my must try list.
Chunky tonka with sugar canes and rose is not something I’ll pass Wow
At the moment i do own 3 Montale fragrances Chocolate Greedy , Oudmazing and Vanilla Extasy all full bottles. My favorite one is Oudmazing .
Tonka Imperiale Guerlain is one of my favorite fragrances ever, of course I enjoy tonka scents.
    Great opportunity – thank you.

  • Bryant Worley says:

What I loved about the review was his highlighting the well-balanced nature of the fragrance (“rose but not a rose”; “oud but not an oud”). And the fact that it’s not syrupy sweet is excellent because, as Michelyn Camen said: “no one over the age of 7 should ever smell like a cupcake”. I, CURRENTLY, don’t own any Montale Fragrances. I do like tonka bean as a mote in fragrances (Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme, Jacques Bogart Pour Homme, Mandarina Duck Black, Salvatore Ferragamo ‘F’ Black, et al). I live in Waldorf, MD, USA.

  • Nice looking bottle and Arabians are a beautiful breed. This gourmand sounds good. I like that it’s not too sweet. I’ve only tried Intense Cafe from Montale and it was a nice scent. Thanks for the draw, Ca

  • wildevoodoo says:

While I love Arabians and so I wouldn’t have been disappointed if Arabians Tonka smelled similar, this Arabians Tonka sounds delightful in its own right. I love saffron, so its constant presence in the fragrance sounds lovely to me, along with the ‘diet/dry gourmand’ nature, since I love tonka, vanilla, etc but I can’t stand it when they are too sickly sweet/syrupy/gooey. I don’t own anything from Montale but I love Arabians and Roses Musk! I am in the US 🙂

  • “After all, no one over the age of 7 should ever smell like a cupcake.”

That’s a personal statement Michelin, not a fact , or a rule anyone should follow 🙂
I am a HUGE gourmand lover for over 20 years, with a really big collection, and I can say at least 35% are gourmands, some of which do smell like cupcakes. I’m in my late thirties by the way.

Arabian Tonka sounds delicious, and I also know well both fragrances Sebastian compared it to , Intense Cafe and Sensual Instinct. Expectations are high .
Montale is one of my favorite houses – atm i do own 11 100ml bottles. Not sure what’s my favorite one , but i can tell you i’m wearing a Montale right now – Mukhallat .

I liked Sebastian’s way of suggesting the subtlety with which the fragrance handles its notes, i.e., “it is oud but it’s not; it is rose, but it’s not . . .” I have not tried Montale, and I am not sure I could identify a tonka bean note, but this sounds like a great way to learn. In the US, in NC.

  • Like all of his reviews, Sebastians style is so laid back, easy going, but sooo full of information. Yes this man knows his frags, and his taste is very similar to mine, so it’s a win win. As far as Montale, yes I love this house, i own quite a few bottles, and have yet to be disappointed. Now Tonka bean has been used in a lot of the juices i own or have owned, but what really has me excited, is that sugarcane element. As someone from the Caribbean, I have fund memories of fresh sugar cane as a child. The scent/taste, instantly comes back to me…back when I would be with my dad, enjoying this natural candy.

  • I am certainly interested in a fragrance that has gourmand qualities without being cloyingly sweet. I don’t own a Montale bottle but appreciate Intense Cafe. I am in the USA.

  • kellyatwood says:

I love how detailed Sebastian gets in his note breakdowns. I’ve never worn any of the Montale fragrances, but have sniffed a few at a boutique here in Austin and was intrigued. Thank you Sebastian for another great review!

What I enjoy most about the YouTube review was how Sebastian choose to explain the smell and it’s play on the senses. It seemed to be a good fit.
I am not an official owner of the Montale brand.
I love Tonga bean as a key note in a fragrance.

Sebastian, great review of Montale Arabians Tonka. It sounds like a beautiful sweet gourmandish fragrance that retains some Montale DNA. I haven’t had the opportunity to try this one yet. It sounds like it smells similar to Mancera Instant Crush or Montale Sensual Instinct which are both excellent fragrances. I do own Montale Intense Cafe, Chocolate Greedy, and Oudmazing. I have sampled almost everything from their line though. I love Tonka Bean as a note in fragrances because it can bring out other notes and the fact that tonka can come across smelling so differently in fragrances. I am from the USA and would love to win this bottle.

I have samples of Intense Cafe and Aoud Velvet and I like them a lot. They are indeed, intense. I was thinking of trying more of their creations, the discovery sets on line are quite affordable. Sebastian compares Arabians Tonka with Intense Cafe so I imagine it to be just as good, but tad sweeter.
I’m enjoying Jo Malone’s Myrrh and Tonka lately.

  • I loved Sebastian’s review, I have never heard a fragrance described as diet gourmand before, not sweet but sweet, not oud but oud, not rose but rose! This sounds like a light version if the original and I would love to try this. I own Montale Roses Musk . I live in the USA

  • Thank you for this draw. I don’t have too much experience with Tonka in my fragrances but this sounds wonderful. I do own Montale’s Black Aoud fragrance, and it’s one of my favorite florals for cold weather. I’m particularly drawn to what Sebastian describes as a dry, not-too-sweet, gourmand with a nutty fragrance and sugar cane notes. It sounds delicious. I am a US reader.

  • I just love Sebastian’s straightforward, earnest approach to fragrance reviews. Here I really get a sense of this fragrance, and I think I would love the “dry” gourmand that is not “sticky” or “gooey.” I was gifted a small decant of Guerlain Tonka Imperiale and it knocked my socks off – I was converted to a tonka lover and have never looked back! I have never owned a FB of a Montale but have sampled . few and i know they are very rich (and those bottles are gorgeous!). Best of luck to all (and myself) from New York City!

This sounds like a very standard Montale Oud floral formula. The gourmand touch is interesting though.

I’ve always thought gourmand scents are too sweet, I would love to dry this diet gourmand. I don’t on any montale fragrances and I have nrver tried Tonka bean scents so I am curious. I live in the USA.

Would love to explore more niche fragrances I love tonka and sweet gourmands but Arabians Tonka seems like it would be something more unique and fun to explore 🙂

  • I loved Sebastian’s review and description of Arabians Tonka! I am intrigued by “dry gourmand.” I loved that he said that the sugar cane and tonka play well together. Intense Cafe is one of my favorites by this brand. Thanks for the giveaway and I live in the US!

  • Being a vain person I do admit getting compliments is important to me, and one of the reasons to get, or not certain fragrance. One thing is for certain, Montale fragrances do get me lots of positive attention, at least in my surroundings . The are also quite powerful, projecting for hours.
Arabian Tonka I’m drawn to because it’s sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet, with right amount of tonka, sugar canes, rose and oud.
About the small remark , not in the video, but in the text, i don’t see nothing wrong with a little cupcake smell in our lives, my favorite Montale is Vanilla Cake , and it smells exactly like grandma’s cupcakes.
Exsiting giveaway, thanks. I’m in USA
    Regards

I love Montale fragrances…. they are so in your face and loud… most of them anyway, and in the best possible way! They last forever and are such beautiful scents. Some may be a little challenging, but they are worth it, in my opinion! I remember when Arabians came out… I remember reading about it and drooling over having it. I never got it, but I did have a sample of it. I loved it and need to pick up a bottle. Now that Arabians Tonka has come out, I have another to add to the list! This one sounds just as amazing. Sebastian says the tonka beans and sugar cane are the notes that really stand out in this scent and it makes me want to try it even more. He says that is not syrupy or gooey, but dry. Wow…. that sounds fantastic having sugar and tonka. The rose sounds divine in this and Sebastian has me drooling yet again over a fragrance! For sure going on my list… maybe even a blind buy! Thank you Sebastian for another deliciously amazing review! Thank you to Europerfumes as well for their generosity and for this awesome opportunity! Thanks Michelyn, as always, for putting all of this together! It is greatly appreciated! Sending rosy, sugary comments from Delaware, US. Good luck to all!

  • Absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Love, love, love the notes!! I’m a big fan of Montale. Particularly Chocolate Greedy! And of course, I just love Sebastian’s take on the scent!
