Memoize London Aurora

Founded in 2018 by Holly Hutchinson, Memoize London is a luxury British Perfume brand which produces fragrances that focus on inclusivity and sustainability. The multicoloured range of flacons with hand carved wooden caps are eye-catching and communicates the message of the brand purposefully. This year Memoize London celebrates its 6th year anniversary, and the most recent releases were showcased at 2024’s Esxence in Milan. Of those Memoize London Aurora became my favourite because it is a scent which plays with a multitude of aspects and acts as an olfactive kaleidoscope.

I enjoy uplifting smells which vary from ethereal to fruity to mineral and Aurora captures these aspects in a way that is addictive and works as a stunning second skin. The colour scheme of mint green and flushed pink brings across the other worldly tonality. This fragrance has a cosmic quality to it as if one is experiencing smelling an alien world of fruits and flowers. Sea air is mixed with milky gourmand goodness.

Memoize London Aurora is a perfume which makes me smile, relaxes and uplifts. It is not a bomb of synthetic molecular notes and there is no huge dose of cashmeran. Rather it sits close and creates an intimate scent bubble. The ingredients are carefully selected to create a seamless aura and one feels captured by it. Whilst the brand list top / middle / base notes I find that they intermingle from the very start. As such my senses whirl around and I enjoy this experience greatly.

Delving into Memoize London Aurora we discover bergamot, marine notes and then the trio of pineapple, rhubarb and melon. Jasmine brings a lush quality and cypress as a slight verdant touch. The depth comes from an amber accord, vanilla, sandalwood, musk and cedarwood round Memoize London Aurora off.

  • Based on Karl’s review, the note that intrigues me the most is the combination of pineapple, rhubarb, and melon. It sounds like an incredibly unique and vibrant trio that adds a fresh, fruity dimension to the fragrance. I’m especially curious about how these bright, juicy notes interplay with the deeper amber and sandalwood base, creating that seamless, cosmic quality Karl describes. It seems like a scent that truly evolves and captivates, blending the unexpected in a way that feels both uplifting and intimate.

  • The note that intrigues me most based on Karl’s review is the combination of marine notes with the trio of pineapple, rhubarb, and melon. It sounds like an unexpected and refreshing blend that gives the fragrance a unique twist. The idea of these fruity notes mingling with the sea air creates a vivid image of a coastal paradise, and I’m curious to experience how this contrast plays out in the scent. It’s fascinating how Karl describes it as having a cosmic quality, which makes me even more eager to explore this fragrance. Greetings from the EU!

  • Based on Karl’s review, the note that intrigues me the most is rhubarb. It’s not a common note in many fragrances, and paired with pineapple and melon, it sounds like it adds a unique, tart twist that balances the sweetness. I’m really curious to see how this unusual combination plays out, especially with the marine notes adding a fresh, airy quality to the scent.

This is a house that I have got no experience with but I am intrigued by nonetheless. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • The phrase I felt most inspired by in Karl’s review is: “This fragrance has a cosmic quality to it as if one is experiencing smelling an alien world of fruits and flowers.” The olfactive profile and pyramid seem to confirm that: a trio of the juiciest, tartest fruit, chilled by marine notes and enriched by jasmine and a blend of woods, musks and vanilla. The particular note that intrigues me most, though, is melon. I love melon and somehow I feel it’s “stuck in the 90’s”, as much as perfumes are concerned. So I’m happy Memoize London is bringing it back in Aurora!

  • Sometimes, all you need is “a seamless aura and one feels captured by it” when you wear your SOTD. I think Aurora would be a great fit for that purpose in my wardrobe and I am very curious to try anything by Memoize. THE note / accord that caught my attention is “sea breeze, mixed with milky gourmand goodness”.

Thank you Karl, Cafleurbon and Memoize.

  • chamberoflilith says:

“Sea air is mixed with milky gourmand goodness”… I have a distinct scent memory regarding this type of combination. I sprayed Jeux de Peau on a briny seashell I had just received from a friend, to create a salty-sweet smell, to prove to someone that salty-sweet can exist (there IS a backstory to this). The way Aurora is presented, I imagine it’s a marine scent that’s up my alley. Except for Salina by Laboratorio Olfattivo, I honestly don’t resonate with marine scents too much. But the thing is, I want to. And this one finally seems like something I’d really really like. And the bottles are beautiful. Thank you, from Romania

  • I enjoy uplifting and refreshing scents and am really intrigued by the sparkling bergamot, the marine notes and the sweet fruity (melon + pineapple) accords.

I just see that they are carried in my city too since few months, so will check the brand very soon 🙂

Although I’m familiar with all notes in this I’ve never seen them coupled this way creating a new tropical blend. Perfect for summertime or anytime for that matter. I picture this as bright and sweet first then dry and woodsy. The pineapple probably is sweet and photorealistic and all the notes are in harmony. Would love to try for myself. It could be my impressions only but I believe most people associate Memoize London with Luxuria and Invidia , the latter i own . To me one of the best sweet tobacco, leather and lots of spices fragrances I’ve ever smelled , Selfridges on Oxford Street is where I bought mine.
It was a pleasure reading Karl Topham essay , what grabbed me the most, in no particular order a) the 6th year anniversary of Memoize London coming soon b) how Aurora became Karl’s favorite of the new releases he discovered at Esxence c) how very different Aurora is in comparison to Invidia d) Karl enjoyment of Aurora positive atmosphere e) how jubilant and calm the fragrance , a second skin aroma with delicious fruits, amber accord, vanilla and some verdant touch from the cypress

I firmly believe if you want to be successful in the fragrance world and at the same time make fragrance enthusiasts happy , you have to use more natural ingredients and not to rely solely on trendy synthetics.

“I enjoy uplifting smells which vary from ethereal to fruity to mineral and Aurora captures these aspects in a way that is addictive and works as a stunning second skin”

It’s remarkable that Memoize London found the fine balance between creativity and wearability.

  • Love the idea of not using too much synthetic notes, and multicolored hand carved wooden caps. Memoize London Aurora capture the revitalizing vibrancy of the tropical fruits, the ocean and the land altogether.

It s cyprus note that captivates me most, as it is such a nice and interesting tree, a home to many owls and has this meditative look to it. The bark smells really nice, simply cyprussey. I think fruit and sea is a good addition, that reminds me of sea shores of Sicily.

I’ve seen people talking about Memoize London on Instagram , and I just found out about Aurora thanks to the Cafleurebon and Karl Topham.
Amber , vanilla pineapple , melon and cedar are favorites of mine, let alone how Karl Topham said Aurora stands out with milky gourmand goodness and intimacy – wonderful fragrance. It’s important to also know Aurora lacks the artificial characteristics i can detect in a lot of other niche fragrances lately.
Thank you very much Memoize London and Holly Hutchinson , and thanks to Karl Topham for the nice work

  • That pastel bottle cap and sea-foam green bottle is striking—love the Memoize London presentation. I’m also very intrigued by this particular combination of sour and funky fruits in a tropical marine fragrance; pineapple, rhubarb and melon, combined with jasmine, and that surprisingly green turn of lively cypress. Karl makes it sound like a joyful wear.

  • I took my time to read everything twice and Karl Topham introduction to Memoize London fragrances and of course his detailed thoughts on Aurora , all the information made me wonder for a moment.
Since I enjoyed everything I read I’m not sure where should even start with. Should I start with how Karl discovered Aurora at Esxence and believing it acts as a olfactory kaleidoscope, him speaking of sea air mixed with milky gourmand goodness , the intimate sweet core … I’m not sure but all helped me evaluate Aurora the best way possible. Right now I’m thinking about intricate vacation fragrance like no other
