When I learned that award winning Senior Perfumer Yann Vasnier of Givaudan signed Memo Paris Sicilian Leather I emailed him immediately. He’s one of my favorite perfumers, and you may recognize his work for commercial, luxury and niche houses such as Parfums Divine, Tom Ford, Jo Malone, Arquiste (receiving a  CaFleureBon Modern Masterpiece for Animas Dulcis in collaboration with Rodrigo Flores-Roux), Frassai  to name just a few of the brands he has collaborated with.  For me, it is always important  to understand the creator’s point of view and vision. Yann graciously shares ‘an inside look ‘ into Sicilian LeatherMichelyn Camen, Editor-in Chief

Leather has always been a favorite of mine, I was obsessed with CHANEL Cuir de Russie, Hermes Bel Ami and CHANEL Antaeus as a teenager. So, it was definitely the perfect fit to work with the highly successful Memo Paris Cuir Nomades collection. We wanted to discover a new side of Leather, fresh bright and energetic, and Sicily helped us achieve this with its zesty citruses, lemon, bergamot, and strong and volcanic (Mount Etna) contrasts. What is also interesting in the formula is this very strong green leafy captive ingredient, called violet nitrile which drives from top to base and connects perfectly with the skin and leathery notes. To capture the essence of Sicily I used a high level of natural citruses, 24%, (Citron vert expressed, Cedrat, lemon, bitter orange oils from Sicily and bergamot from Calabria)“.Yann Vasnier, Sr. Perfumer at Givaudan

Editor Sebastian Jara reviews the newest from the Cuir Nomades, Memo Paris Sicilian Leather the latest and the 9th in the series for 2021.

I enjoyed hearing about the high natural citrus content in the introduction. I also liked how Sebastian said that this is a good entry level leather fragrance and that it even got him some compliments. I live in Maryland USA.

I loved the fact that’s it’s a fresh citrus take on a leather fragrance…Sebastian has a way of explaining fragrances to make you want to try them even more.

  • Love this house, my fav being Ocen Leather , Moroccan Leather and most fav is Italian Leather with the unique Tomato leaf. Based in Chicago crystal Lake USA.
Also love their other line vertical oud ( hermetica)

Hello!!! I really enjoyed the review of Sebastian!! I like the house of Memo Paris Fragrance, I smelled it the first time while traveled to Rome in 2016. I like that this specific perfume, Sicilian Leather is a fresh leather. I like that it is a bit sweet, spicy and aromatic woody. I like that it is not too heavy leather one as well.

  • Dariusz Ekonomiuk says:

  • Ricardo Vargas says:

I’m looking for an entry leather perfume and this is the perfect opportunity. Enjoy how Sebastian emphasizes that is not all leather.

  • SuperSCENT says:

Really cool that this is Yann Vasnier first time with Memo
I know he did Aldehyde 44. I think that it’s interesting that such a high percentage of naturals are used
Sebastian did a great job of explaining this Sicilian leather smell

  • Citrusy frags are hard to come by, hope this one does it well. Would love to try this!

  • Kelly O'Neal says:

I liked how Senior Perfumer Yann Vasnier wanted to find a new side of Leather. I liked how Sebastian informed us it’s an easy to wear leather. Thank you.

  • Dylan Trn says:

I’m not the biggest fan of leather but really enjoy African Leather from this house. When I heard this is a good entry level for leather and those notes, I am sold. It will be awesome if I can have an actual bottle instead of the decants.

  • Wilson Siavichay says:

Memo Paris is one of my niche houses that I like a lot, especially Russian Leather is my favorite and as Sebastian says in his Sicilian Leather review that this is in the same line of Russian Leather, I would love to try it.

  • I love leather fragrances, but I tend not to wear them in the summer. Sebastian’s review makes this sound like one that I could! One of my favorite winter scents is Vasnier creation: Divine’s (totally underrated imo) L’Homme Sage. And Vasnier’s description of Sicilian Leather reinforces my sense that this a leather (and a Vasnier) fragrance that will work in hot weather. I’m a subscriber of Sebastian’s channel. I live in Oklahoma, USA. Thanks, as always, for the draw!

  • I liked that natural citruses were used in this fragrance. I do enjoy many flankers from Memo Paris and am looking forward to sniffing Sicilian Leather. Sebastian mentioned a violet leaf note in this, so I believe I can rock this during the summer months. Thanks for the opportunity. Mich USA

  • I’ve been enjoying a certain citrus-prominent fragrance in my collection (which also uses leather) and I believe that I can enjoy many of the citrus w/ leather fragrances that have been made. I’m glad to know that I can like that kind of a fragrance and I believe that this one, by Memo Paris, might be an excellent example of that kind of a fragrance. I appreciated learning about what the fragrance is like from Sebastian and from perfumer, Yann Vasnier. I’m a subscriber to Sebastian’s channel. I live in MD., U.S.A.

  • AleksCipri says:

After reading the introduction I was really excited to go and listen to Sebastian’s full review. Yann Vasnier is a great perfumer and it was interesting reading his vision for Sicilian Leather. I really like that he wanted to make a fresher and bright leather fragrance. After hearing Sebastian compare parts of this fragrance to Russian Leather which I adore I was even more intrigued. I love Cuir Nomades line. I hope I’ll be able to try them all. Russian and African are my favorites for now. I really think that citruses, violet and leather in Sicilian Leather should make a great combo and also great for warmer weather. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • I’m amazed by how the perfumer uses the culture of different countries to bring these fragrances to life! Sebastian what can I say he is phenomenal extremely knowledgeable with scents and how to break down the notes to share with us, I love and feel like I’m inside his head when he is teaching and expressing to us the notes and what the perfumer wanted us to take away from the scent story or journey.

  • Yann is awesome for this!!! This guy is literally the reason I seek fragrances from Givaudan! I did not know of his affinity towards Cuir de Russie but can only assume he has created something of a masterpiece with Sicilian Leather!
I completely trust Sebastians judgement and it sounds like a hit for those like me who wish they could wear more leather fragrances in the heat! I would love love love this and

  • Michael Bullock says:

Great review and I enjoyed it and I wanna win this fragrance because it sounds good and it has a lot of great notes and have a blessed day.

  • Very excited. I enjoyed the idea of a bright and energetic citrus evolving into a pleasing leather fragrance. Both Yann and Sebastian indicate this and it’s exactly what I’m looking for! Please enter me in the give away, and thanks very much.

  • Magaly Rivera says:

I just recently tried out 2 of your fragrances from your house and I’m in love. I absolutely love them. I got Tamarindo and Lalibela. I would love to own Sintra or African Leather. I absolutely love Gourmands and it is known that no one does Leather better than Memo Paris. Sebastian was the reason I bought the 2 that I bought. He transports you to the scent without having them in front of you. I love learning from him and allowing him to transport me to the region and relay the story of your amazing fragrances. Thank you for your masterpiece creations. I am head over heals with your fragrance house. Thank you for this amazing giveaway and for your generosity. Love Maggie

  • Sharonda McClellan says:

I am a beginning my niche journey. I enjoyed Sebastian interpretation of the different leather notes in this fragrance even though they might not be mentioned like ocean leather. I find it intriguing that Yann wanted to incorporate bitter citrus in the leather.

  • Ric Santos says:

I love that Yann’s inspiration behind Sicilian Leather comes from some iconic fragrances that many fragrance enthusiasts like myself enjoy. Sebastian’s review of the fragrance is once again top notch! He never fails to paint a picture of what to expect with the fragrances he reviews. Thank you for hosting the giveaway!

  • Mayer Jotkowitz says:

Hi, I am excited about this release. I like that he is a fan of Bel Ami and curious about the high and mixed citrus content. Sebastian’s review also makes me want to try it out due his getting compliments and the bitter citrus accords with the white leather and violet/ sea notes.

  • I was similarly a fan of Bel Ami! Still am. The volcanic contrasts that Yann mentioned seem intriguing. Always been a fan of adding some greenness to leather accords so it’d be interesting to sample violet nitrile as a stand alone material. Love the sound of the sweet and tart citric qualities too. Quite a high percentage for a leather fragrance in fact. Certainly would make it perfect for the warmer months. The transition sounds impeccable. Citric, aromatic, spicy, with some aquatic greenness and a leather finish. Yes PLEASE. MI, USA

  • Joe Stachowiak says:

As someone who is a third generation Sicilian immigrant, the island holds a very special place in my family’s heart. The way Sebastian described the scent made me think of how my grandmother would describe life in Sicily and I would love to smell it myself! I especially like the lengths Vann went to get authentic materials for the fragrance.

  • Not gonna lie, my favorite part about the Yann Vasnier introduction is that photo of him! *blush* And I appreciated Sebastian’s YouTube review– specifically his description of the bright and inviting nature of this composition.

  • Ricardo Quintanilla says:

I wish i win this one. I have never tried this house. And after watching sebastians video. I really want to try it. I love leather fragrances. And specially Yann Vasnier signed this master piece. I rally want it. Thanks for the opportunity. Wish me luck.

  • David Walker says:

Great introduction! I also enjoy Italian Leather because of the unique green tomato leaf note. All of Sebastian’s reviews are informative and interesting.

  • I am glad Yann likes Bel Ami which is, indeed, one of the best leather perfumes ever made. Ironically, the article mentions Parfums Divine because it was through that house that I was introduced to Yann. The inclusion of citrusy notes make sense since Sicily is known for its citrusy fruits. I am in US.

  • Camille Sheil says:

It sounds like an amazing fragrance! Sebastian seemed to love. A lot of citruses and the fact that it’s part of a lineup (he gives an overview of the other fragrances at the very end). And this idea of a violet nitrile that Yann is using is very intriguing… All I can think of is a car engine…haha. But something that is “grounding” throughout the entire note range is rather revolutionary… especially if it’s largely naturally based.

Thank you so much for this opportunity

  • Paul Ransom says:

Vasnier made it obvious he has an affinity for leather fragrances and has a nose for them.. He takes his work seriously.
Sebastian made it very inticing to want to try this fragrance since citrus and leather is a unique combination. He explained well how fresh and wonderful it is.

  • Sicilian Leather got me really interested because it’s not the heavy dark leather scents we used to get. Great inspiration story from the perfumer Yann Vaniser. And of course, Sebastian’s reviews are always a delight to watch and I can trust his taste as I’ve bought many other based on his reviews.

  • I have always loved African Leather from Memo Paris and i’m excited that they have added another leather fragrance to the line. I found it interesting that the perfumer Yann Vasnier has mentioned the fact that they have used a high level of natural citruses and i have yet to try the combination of both citrus and leather so looking forward! Sebastian also mentioned the fact that its a compliment getter even with the limited number of people he has met recently it still shined through which definitely adds to the intrigue.

  • Anna Boone says:

I enjoyed reading Yann’s description of the volcanic element attributed to Sicily and am so curious as to how this will come through in the fragrance. As always, Sebastian describes Memo’s fragrances the way that I experience them. For example, when he describes Russian Leather as fresh snow, this is exactly what I get from that fragrance. I like that he says it is “entry level” because for me, leathers have been tricky to get into, but I have thoroughly enjoyed Russian Leather, Oriental Leather and Ocean Leather. Portland, OR.

  • Norcal_nose says:

I like the 24% level of citrus that Yann Vasneir mentions in his introduction and that Sebastian mentions the leather is not a heavy accord in Sicilian Leather, it sounds like a great fragrance. I’m a fan of the African and Russian leather by this house, and would love to try this new one. Greetings from northern California!

  • Love the house. Sicilian Leather sounds like an amazing sent for this time of year. Sebastians reviews are always top notch. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • Sherin Thomas says:

Love the citrus quality as described by Sebastian being uplifting and invigorating . From PA, USA

  • wilsonwc76 says:

This sounds lovely! I love Yann Vasnier’s Jo Malone scents, and I love a citrus scent. I love Shay and Blue’s Blood Orange which also combines a leather note with citrus. And I love that this has a high concentration of natural citruses, sounds heavenly! And I like that Sebastian notes that it’s an easy leather scent because I don’t love too strong of a leather scent. I’m in NYC.

  • forrestanez says:

I was pleasantly surprised that there were high amount of natural citrus used in this perfume. Leather is hands down one of, if not my favorite note. Sebastian’s review was wonderful! I am always on the search for a great summer leather and this sounds like a winner! Thank you so much for this opportunity. This house has been at the top of my wishlist.

  • Suvirnath says:

Would love to get this one… A huge fan of the French and the African Leather.

  • I love both guys deep love and passion with fragrances. This allows them to review numerous non mainstream fragrances that are gems! This is very beneficial for consumers like myself that don’t want to smell like the typical joe.

  • That was an interesting intro from Senior Perfumer Yann Vasnier and it helps one to visualize which direction the perfumer was taking or what story they were trying to tell through the fragrance. Sebastian’s review completes the circle by providing an unbiased opinion on the fragrance and description of the notes. I don’t fancy the heavy leathers too much and the fact that this one is light and zesty makes me want to try it out and brings to mind Italian Leather which is my favorite from Memo Paris. I’m in USA

  • kramerongo says:

So much lime and citrus it most smells light citrus with hint of leather. I went to store and did have sniff, it smells spring summer fragrance. very enjoyed. I am in CA USA

  • MuhammadAli says:

I own and love the Memo Irish leather. I generally incline to citrus scents in my perfumes and this review has me intrigued and excited to try this new scent out.

  • Darren OKeefe says:

I thought Yann’s introduction was insightful and it was interesting to see his reference to Bel Ami and Antaeus when you consider Sebastians description of the fragrance from the wearers perspective.

Sebastians review was great as usual, and I enjoyed how he clearly explained the difference between this leather and some of Memos other offerings. Given his reference to Russian Leather – one of my favourites – I would love to try this one.

    Thanks!

Animas Dulcis is awesome, spicy Mexican chocolate kind of fragrance. Nice choice Michelyn.
As a Pastry Chef, who also is a small business owner , I own my bakery, I’m glad Yann Vasnier is using high quality ingredients, that’s essential to me.
I had the pleasure of smelling a few Memo Paris fragrances when I was at Osswald boutique , looking for something else.
Sicilian Leather have not smelled there for obvious reasons since it’s brand new , but at the end , I end up buying the fragrance I originally intended to, and also Memo Tiger’s Nest . I had to , it’s impressive one , and it works wonders . Over 10 hours of longevity and 3-4 hours of strong projection.
After watching Sebastian take on Sicilian Leather, I was instantly reminded of of making , and eating the classic Cake Infiniment Citron , which is basically candied lemon zest Pound cake , while sitting on a new quality leather sofa
Appreciate the review, the intro , and the giveaway campaign

  • From the comment by Yann, I like Chanel’s Antaeus also. From the video the “citrusy touches” and “light leather accord” caught my attention. I haven’t smelled any of the house leathers. US

  • IvanVelikov says:

Not overly complex , but well executed citruses, suede, and woods, I’m really drown to similar combinations. Sicilian Leather is a winner in my book.
Other than a sample of Tamarindo i’m not familiar with Memo Paris , but after Olya’s vivid review of Argentina i was curious , and just a few days ago I ordered samples of Argentina, African, Italian and Russian Leather, and Sintra. I’m still waiting for my package to arrive.
Satisfaction is a rating, Loyalty is a brand , it comes to no surprise to me Yann Vasnier is working with high level of natural citruses , Memo Paris is a high level niche brand after all.
    Beautiful giveaway, thanks a lot.

  • Bryant Worley says:

I really appreciated Senior Perfumer Yann Vasnier’s introduction, and Sebastian’s breakdown of the fragrance. Both made it sound quite desirable, especially since I like bright citruses in my frags. I had already ‘bucketlisted’ the entire Memo Paris Leather line, and if I win this, I’ll gave one less to get.

I live in Waldorf, MD, USA,

  • Yann mentioned Antaeus as one of his favorites, and it’s mine too. In his introduction, he mentions violet nitrile in Memo Paris Sicilian Leather, which was new to me. High concentration of top-notch citruses creates a very uplifting top note, and then it changes into a different woody, leathery base after a while. Sebastian’s reviews are always enjoyable as they clearly describe the perfumes reviewed. Interesting to note this is a good introduction to leather for those not much into it. I like leather, woody, citrusy perfumes, and like Sebastian, Memo Paris African Leather is one of my favorites. Thanks for the review and a generous draw. Writing from the USA.

  • Alissa Feinberg says:

The Memo Paris Sicilian Leather sounds like it could be the leather I’ve been seeking for a long time. I’m looking for a summer leather fragrance, something lighter and brighter than most leathers, yet still grounded. I love that Sebastian discusses the various notes and the roles they play in the development of the fragrance. Citrus for brightening, spices for earthiness and grounding, violet and violet leaves for their ozonic, watery qualities. All some of my favorite notes, and then brought together by woods and leather. Sounds like a perfect all day summer wear leather!
I also really appreciate Sebastian’s acknowledgment of the perfumer and his previous accomplishments. I don’t always see that reviewers do that, and I think it’s an important aspect for appreciating the artistry of perfumery. There are specific perfumers whose work I follow, though I admit I’m not (yet) familiar with Yann Vasnier’s work. I look forward to exploring his work more.
I am in Portland, Maine (the original U.S. Portland.)

  • WaltherP99 says:

Top quality natural smelling citruses, violet , woods on bed of premium leather. Sicilian Leather I’m sure it would be a good fragrance, especially when it’s made by Yann Vasnier. Honestly it was very interesting to me to hear about how Yann combined the citruses. And also for me as I am not experienced with leather fragrances, it was very interesting to hear from Sebastian he considers this an entry level leather fragrance.

    Thank you!

  • GennyLeigh says:

Violet nitrile sounds like a fascinating ingredient. A strong green leafy note in conjunction with a lot of citrus sounds like it would brighten leather considerably. Great review, Sebastian! Commenting from MD, USA.

  • Terrianne says:

Both the introduction and Sebastian’s review talked about the heavy dose of bright, zesty citrus notes in a way that made my mouth water.

I could imagine sitting in the backseat of an old-school Bentley with the windows open while touring a Sicilian citrus farm.

I imagine this level of citrus mellows the leather and woody notes into more submissive co-starring roles.

    Sexy, but incidentally so.

  • Julesinrose says:

I am interested in this citrus/leather combo. The amount of natural citrus – ooh! In Maine, USA

  • Living in Florida, USA I’m intrigued about Vasnier’s goal of a fresh leather, sounds like a perfect signature scent from what Sebastian says as well. Love leather, Love Citrus, would love to win this fragrance….also this pic is almost 20 years old. Wonder how it popped up.‍♂️

  • I loved both the introduction and the Sebastian’s review. Sebastian’s review emphasized that this is a very wearable leather perfume. Leather is a scent that can be scary in a way. The introduction also focused on the citrus notes of this perfume, which is why Sebastian finds this fragrance to be an easy leather scent to introduce to people.
    Love from Los Angeles.

  • I Love this house, my favorite is African Leather, Moroccan Leather and the best of them all is the Italian Leather.

  • roseylis69 says:

Always love to watch Sebastian’s reviews.
This sounds like one leather fragrance I would enjoy since I live freshy scents.

  • Courtenay Courier says:

I appreciate Yann’s introduction in explaining the zest of the citrus and where the green layer fits in. Sebastians review is amazing. I appreciate what sort of notes he picks up on, such as the bitterness of the citrus specifically, and where the spices come in to play, and how the fragrance transforms to those citruses to leather. This scent seems to have my favourite notes in a combination I don’t think I’ve quite experienced. I would be very eager to try this out.

  • wandering_nose says:

I adrore the house of Memo Paris, my faves being Russian Leather and African Leather. I so appreciate Yann’s openness about his adoration for leather notes in perfumery and I admire him for the courage and bravery to offer a new facet of a leather freagrance, making it an entry level one at the same time. That makes for a real master perfumer! Sebastian makes every fragrance feel like it is alive on your skin. The four citrus fruits used in the opening seem so appealing in their brightness after the murky and gloomy times of lockdown. Thank you from Ireland, EU.

  • Monica Cabrera says:

I love the perfumer’s idea of an energetic leather brightened by citruses. I love how Sebastian describes fragrances and how he described this as an intro level leather with beautiful zingy citruses at the top and the change throughout the fragrance to a true white leather at the base of the fragrance. Thank you for the opportunity!

  • wildevoodoo says:

First of all, I love the idea of winning a bottle of Sicilian Leather, because for the past two years in a row I have had to cancel a trip to Sicily due to COVID. It seems as though this lovely-sounding fragrance would be a lovely consolation prize. It’s so cool that Antaeus, Cuir de Russie, and Bel Ami were early influences on M. Vasnier! I also love the idea of citric/aromatic spicy ‘fresh leather’ that Sebastian describes. If it’s zingy and uplifting, it’s perfect for warmer weather. I am in the US 🙂

  • wallygator88 says:

Thank you for the great review Sebastian.

I find this review interesting because of the notes – bitter orange with spices, green elements and leather makes me think of sitting at a party on a cool Sicilian night, dressed up in a nice informal leather jacket.

I really liked Sebastian’s take on the role of the spices os these fragrances.

It was cool to see the fragrances that had inspired Yann in the creation of this fragrance. Michelyn, thank you for giving us a little peek into Yanns mind.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Fernando_2250 says:

Mr. Vasnir’s use of the many citruses is what got me curious about this fragrance, also my love for sicily as it’s a gorgeous place i one day hope to visit. Sebastian’s review only led me further down my path of curiosity as he gave insight to the citrusy “zing” at the beginning and slowly transitioning to a lovely leather that surely would give anyone the feeling of standing on the island of sicily.

  • The fact that Yann already had a love for leather could only make for a match in heaven between him and Memo. I always good idea of what fragrances are like when Sebastian reviews them. I really want to try this one.

  • Yann Vasnier’s mentions of the idea of a new, bright side of leather got my attention. It’s also interesting that Sebastian found this to be worthy of singling out, given that this could have potentially been a repetitive collection.

  • Michael Prince says:

I enjoyed Senior Perfumer Yann Vasnier’s introduction where he discussed how he enjoys the note of leather in fragrances and how he captured the light and wearable side in Sicilian Leather mixed in with a dominant citrus opening. Sebastian also confirms this during his review of Sicilian Leather where he says it’s a light and wearable leather fragrance mixed with a dominant citrus presence along with some spices to accent the fragrance. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • Like that a fresh bright leather from a well know niche perfumer Yann Vasnier of Givaudan is now in the Memo offering. Think Sebastian’s review really sold / got everyone’s attention with a very wearable white leather. I automatically think a summer, spring, and anytime of the day vibrant leather. Definitely like to have this one in my collection.

  • NomDeGuerre says:

We’re on the same page about Cuir de Russie, Yann. Thank you for the intro and I hope I get the chance to try this. It sounds like nn interesting take on leather and, as usual, a perfect review from Sebastian – thank you for that.

  • Very interesting! I’m really intrigued by the strong green leafy captive ingredient and always love how Sebastian explains the development of the fragrance. Thank you so much for this opportunity! I live in the US.

  • m.r.everything says:

Wow, another release from the Cuir Nomades collection and it could not sound any better!

I, too, am a huge fan of Yann Vasnier as he is the nose behind one of my favorite fragrances ever… Tom Ford’s Plum Japonais, along with another one by Mr. Ford, which funny enough, I will be purchasing later this week. I have had a sample for quite some time and I will finally be pulling the trigger on Vanille Fatale. He has also created (or co-created) my 3 favorites from the house of Arquiste… Nanban, Animas Dulcis, and The Architects Club. Moschinos Toy Boy is another masterpiece Yann created that I truly enjoy. Mr. Vasnier has quite the repertoire of fine fragrances and is one hell of a nose!

I really enjoyed how he tells us what he was fascinated by as a child, because it gives us a look in to his olfactory journey and I am right there with him. Leather is (next to plum of course) one of my favorite notes in perfumery. There is so many ways it can be executed and quite a few of the fragrances in my ever growing collection have leather thrown in there somehow. The violet nitrile that Yann talks about in Sicilian Leather is really intriguing and definitely something I would love to get my nose on.

I am with Sebastian when he says African Leather is his favorite out of the Cuir Nomades collection, however, I would put that as my number 2. It is very tough because I have two from that collection that really have won me over, one being African Leather, and the other, which is just stunning, Irish Leather…. I love both of them so much but Irish Leather would have to be my favorite with African Leather a VERY close second. I love how Sebastian says he gets compliments on that one and he doesn’t even hang out with that many people. That made my day, because number 1, neither do I, haha, and number 2, if it is that good, it makes me want Sicilian Leather even more!

Thank you Sebastian, for your thoughts on Sicilian Leather, and thank you Yann, for giving us insight on the creative side of Sicilian Leather. Both of you are greatly appreciated. A huge thanks to EuroPerfumes/Eden Square for your generosity and for this amazing opportunity! Thank you, as always, to Michelyn for (your great taste in perfumers) and for making this all happen. Without you, none of this would be possible. Sending warm wishes and gratitude from Delaware, US. Good luck all and stay safe my fragrant friends!

  • I, like Michelyn Camen, appreciate having some idea of the perfumer’s point of view and vision when I am experiencing their work. I really appreciated hearing that Yann has been obsessed with leather fragrances since his teenage years and would be so interested to experience his creation for this important line of fragrances from Memo Paris. The notes for Sicilian Leather sound incredible. Regarding the video, I appreciated hearing Sebastian’s description of how Sicilian Leather progresses through the note pyramid and how it might wear on skin. I also appreciated the quick run-through of the whole Memo Paris Cuirs Nomade series. I have an idea now of which ones I might like best.

I would love to try Sicilian Leather as I am delighted by the concept of a “fresh leather”. It made me think of being in my early 20s and traveling to Austin, TX for a punk music festival and seeing lots of young people wearing their heavy, studded leather jackets in the oppressive heat. I know they could probably care less about perfume or smelling good (and they definitely didn’t), but I am thoroughly amused by the idea of suggesting that they try Sicilian Leather, a “fresh leather” fragrance, which would allow them to wear leather and maintain a bit of an edge in 100-degree weather without risking heat stroke.

  • I’ve been looking for a leather fragrance that has moderate leather notes (like very detectable but not too strong) but the ones I’ve tried are usually too smoky or spicy for me that makes them very hard to wear even I like some of them. Or I found some are very versatile but the leathery note are barely or can’t be detected. After watching Sebastian’s review and the descriptions from Yann, I’m curious this could be one that is quite leathery and versatile with the uplifting fresh notes. Thank you for the giveaway! I’m in California, USA.

  • Invigorating fragrance, with leather, fresh citrus, spices and a little bit of sweetness.
Nice , balance is needed in our lives…at least I need it. Sicilian Leather feels captivating.
African Leather is the best Memo Paris i personally own, there’s one more i really like , it’s called Kedu . Smells like eating sesame bar, and drinking tea.
What I found surprising, is Yann Vasnier obsession with leather fragrances from relatively young age. I developed my affinity for leather fragrances much later, in my early 30s.
Thanks to Europerfumes for the giveaway, and to Sebastian of course

  • Welcoming fragrance, with juicy fresh opening, and cozy spicy leather base , Sicilian Leather sounds so nice.
Warmer weather leather fragrances are rare. Volcanic contrast, new sides of leather? I’m so intrigued.

Cuir de Russie , Bel Ami and Anteaus are definitely not easy to like fragrances, and I found almost unusual how Yann Vasnier was captivated by such perfumes as a teenager
Different times of course, but all 3 are considered mature now . Acquired taste from a young age , no wonder he became a perfumer 🙂
According to Sebastian, Michelyn and the nose himself, Sicilian Leather is very different , bright, fresh and energetic, up to date leather fragrance done right ✅
My husband and I share French Leather by Memo.I should finally catch up with Memo catalog of fragrances.
    Top opportunity, thanks

Loving the high concentration of citrus since I love citrus in fragrance, with the leather this sounds so interesting! Love sebastians reviews and I loved how he expressed it as kind of like an easy to wear summer leather. I would love to try this I have only tried Sintra so far and love it! None from the leather collection and this sounds like the perfect one to get me started! NY, US

  • I always like hearing from the perfumer’s point of view. I definitely thought it would have citrus in it, and was happy to be correct in that guess. I was wondering how it would transition from that to the leather portion, so I enjoyed hearing Sebastian’s perspective on it too (fresh leather!). The violet leaf sounds interesting. I live in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway.

I like that Yann wanted to bring something new to the plate in a leather fragrance & the use of 4 citruses & a high level of natural citruses. I as always really enjoyed Sebastians breakdown of the fragrance and that he gave a quick breakdown of the entire line of other Fragrances.

I tend to enjoy the fresher aspects of leather, so this sounds pretty appealing. Sebastian’s reviews are usually a pretty good indicator for me, as our tastes in perfume seem to align pretty often. I appreciate that he describes this as uplifting and easy to wear. Located in California, US.

  • Memo is classy stuff and you can’t go wrong with that much natural citrus! Sounds great just like Seb said.

  • Michael W. says:

I like the description of the invigorating blast of citrus followed by the spices and leather coming in. It sounds like a nice balance of depth and freshness. From Yann’s introduction, I found the violet nitrile captive ingredient in the fragrance very interesting. Located in NY, US.

  • I’m interested in how Yann said he wanted to discover a new kind of leather. I always love the sound of Sebastian’s voice and I’m interested in this because he said it would be good for someone who newer to the enjoyment of leather fragrances. Thank you! I live in Virginia, USA
