Mancera Vetiver Sensuel Review + Put the Lemon in the Vetiver Draw

Mancera Vetiver Sensuel

Vetiver digital art by Michelyn/Van Gogh’s clumps of Grass painting

Did you know that vetiver is associated with “sensual experiences” and in some cultures bathing in vetiver to attract love and/or sex?  Or that in Ayurvedic medicine vetiver oil is used to calm, reduce anxiety and anger. It also is touted to boost the immune system.  2020 is a good time to wear vetiver fragrances, especially these past months which have been deeply unsettling.

Mancera Vetiver Sensuel is a bit of a departure from other Mancera perfume as the sillage and longevity is moderate… not overly strong. The titled vetiver features a medley of citruses (especially lemon, which is particularly dominant) and aromatic mint. Lest you think this is a light summery fragrance or just another citrusy vetiver, there is a musky, woody amber drydown for depth.

Editor Sebastian Jara reviews Mancera Vetiver Sensuel- Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief

Disclosure: Sebastian received his bottle of Vetiver Sensuel, Thank you!!! We also do not make any claims that there is natural vetiver oil in this fragrance, or by wearing it you will experience less anxiety, etc.

I enjoy all of Sebastian’s reviews of different fragrances. I hate to admit how much I needed to learn about different scent. I feel I’ve learned a lot just watching his reviews. Lemon or citrus is one of my favorite scents. I will definitely try this new perfume.

  • I think Sebastian’s review was great. Can’t wait to try it. My favorite Mancera is Instant Crush.

  • I enjoyed hearing from Sebastian about the depth this perfume has in contrast to other lighter fresher vetiver citrus fragrances and enjoyed hearing about the history of the sensual aspects of vetiver! I haven’t tried enough from Mancera to have a favorite yet. Michigan US

  • I did not know vetiver was an Ayurvedic medicine. Interesting.

As always, Sebastian gives you the scent profile thoughout the fragrance’s life. Too often you only get the opening impression from most reviewers.

    Favorite Mancera: Crazy for Oud

  • Always like Sebastian’s reviews. Liked his description of the lemon working with the mint well in this fragrance. Also liked the disclaimer that the fragrance won’t necessarily reduce anxiety haha. Currently my favorite Mancera is Instant Crush, but I’ve only tried a few so far. Live in California!

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

I enjoyed hearing about the mental and healing properties of vetiver that were mentioned in Michelyn’s introduction. I enjoyed hearing Sebastian mention that Vetiver Sensuel is not as strong as most other Mancera’s, since I prefer a fragrance that isn’t too potent.

  • stanley wright says:

This was a great review!! In the past two months I have been watching Sebastian’s vetiver reviews from different fragrance houses on You Tube. This is my favorite scent! Because of Sebastian’s reviews, I have purchased 10 vetiver fragrances from various houses. Even if I am not selected to win this fragrance, I will purchase this fragrance, This fragrance sounds fantastic!! Thank you!!

  • Russell Johnson III says:

Sebastian always go into real depth about the scent pyramid, where it starts, where it ends, and the scenery along the way. He is by far one of the absolute premier reviewers that exists right now. His reviews give depth, personality, married with personal opinion which has guided me towards the majority of my purchases…or steered me from them.

Michelyn’s review was absolutely spot on. I received a sample from a recent Montale purchase and the citrus notes are so prominent that they lead you into thinking you are purchasing a high heat summer fragrance. But during the journey, you are brought to a fork in the road where your destination is a year-round experience. This is truly a clean, fun, cozy and warm tour of the senses. Bravo Mancera.

I have several Mancera fragrances and I am always pulled back to Cedrat Boise. Although the Aventus vibe is there, prominent at the opening, the dry down is the conclusion of a series of novels you have been anticipating. Thick. Warm, woody, creamy, and to my nose, lactonic cedar. It truly is a masterpiece.

  • Certainly didn’t know that vetiver was used as a quasi aphrodisiac in some cultures! Was familiar with its role in Ayurvedic medicine though. LIked that Sebastian included the quality of citrus in his description. There’s certainly a difference between an astringent, juicy, tart, dry or candied hesperidic fruit, and the more detailed the better. Kind of a synchronistic review since I’ve been thinking about this one for the past week or so. As a loyal vetiver lover, there’s never a bad time for a citrus-mint-vetiver fragrance and it seems like Mancera got the balance right in this one! MI, USA.

  • Glamorous Beauty says:

I enjoyed how Sabatian throughly broke down the notes especially explaning about the citrus. Michelyn I loved how in depth she talked on the vetiver oil I had no idea all this information about this oil so interesting and this is why I’m such a fraghead and collector. My absolute fave Mancera is Red Tobacco I loveee this scent I would love to win this fragrsnce as its completely out of my norm and I love testing new notes that I typically do not wear and of course who doesn’t want a full bottle of Mancera. One of my faves love Mancera

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Sebastian’s review highlighted the early dominance of citruses which I like in fragrances. As it develops, the patchouli comes to the fore and finishes off with vetiver, musk, and amber. That transition sounds dope. Michelyn’s intro about the uses of vetiver oil in certain cultures was enlightening as I wasn’t aware of its versatility. Appreciate the content and opportunity for the giveaway. Really hope to win this one…never tried a Mancera! Best from Virginia, USA!

  • This vetiver fragrance sounds like harmony to my senses when Sebastian describes it here in this review. I think his viewers trust him more and more given his elaborate understanding of the notes of each fragrance he reviews. Thank you! My favorite Mancera is Sicily, due to its fervent summer tone.

  • Kathryn Drury says:

I am a YouTube subscriber to smelling great, I enjoyed Sebastian’s review that mentioned the earthiness of this scent, the patchouli, citrus and Vetiver notes sound very intriguing. Michelyn’s description of its sensual amber notes really make me want to try this. I really appreciate the choice of posting the Van Gogh painting. As an art enthusiast, this detail is fantastic.

  • From Michelyn I really never knew that vetiver could reduce anxiety. I am going to order pure oil. From Sebastian he’s great I loved the description of the lemon and that Mancera vetiver sensuel had depth even though the lemon was tart

  • Nose Torres says:

I always enjoy Sebastian’s accuracy to describe notes on fragrances And off course I enjoy watching his knowledge about perfumery… in this case I love mancera’s DNA and I am very curious on their take of this note of Vetiver. From the name to the colors of the bottle I can Only imagine it’s like being on a forest full of spices… love it! Michelyn’s intro was really on point… made me want to go back to the video as it described as not so potent or toned down mancera if you will. Would love to win the giveaway Guys! Huge fan and my favorite Mancera is Precious Oud!

  • I enjoy all of Sebastian’s reviews because I keep updated with new fragrances as well as new brands. I love the combination of citrus and vetiver in fragrances, it is so uplifting. I will definitely try this new perfume from Mancera, I really love the house.

  • I was really interesting in this fragrance after I watched Sebastian review. I always watch this videos but this one stood out!! I’m a lover of mint and citrusy fragrances and I do also enjoy vetiver so I think this fragrance would be the perfect scent for me. Unfortunately I’ve never tried any scent from Mancera but I’d love to try this one:) writing from Malta, New York

  • Raven Jackson says:

I love how straight forward and how truthful you are about the fragrance. The intro got me amped up to watch the video. I recently got my first bottle from mancera which is of course Cedrat Boise and I love ittt. That is my favorite so far from the line. Would love to win this bottle to add to the collection and to start my mancera collection!

  • Gennaro Gallo says:

I have 7 mancera and about to receive instant crush with honey aoud from Montale, same parent company.

  • Wilson Siavichay says:

Just reading all the notes in this new realize,
is so fresh and sensual with the woody notes, definitely I will love to try it.

  • William Munoz says:

Sebastian provides on point details about fragrances. My favorite Mancera is Red Tobacco

  • Omar Milano says:

Mancera is one of my favorites niches fragrance companies.
I usually wear “Red Tobacco” as day to day cologne, I like it a lot.

I would like to try “Sensuel Vetiver”.
Looks like a good option according to Sebastian’s review

  • The review is straight to the point citrus and vetiver with a hint of spices I like the way is described by Sebastian as damp
Vetiver that is earthy and refreshing by the lemony notes
I live in the Bronx NY

  • Sebastian gives a great review as always. I like his focus on the main notes of lemon and vetiver. I must admit that I was surprised by Michelyn’s note that some cultures associate vetiver with sensual experiences. Watching from Pennsylvania.

  • It’s nice to know about vetiver in ayurvedic tradition and the immune boosting property, and I always find Sebastian’s description clear and vivid! (US)

  • I loved the thorough explanation of the fragrance’s construction, especially because there’s such a large range of vetiver–from the raw materials to their creative framing by perfumers. I’m curious about the slight black pepper and citrus dominance! Based in USA.

  • I’ve been following Sebastián’s channel for a year, the way he describes each fragrance is so clear , it’s just perfect. I appreciate his job, I have learned a lot about fragrances. Mancera is an incredible brand I was fascinated with Vetiver review, to have the opportunity to try them would be great.

  • Jestina sesay says:

I enjoy watching Sebastian’s review and every time I watch his review, I always learn about new fragrances. Can’t wait to try this fragrance. My favorite Mancera is Velvet vanilla.

  • statikstepz says:

Hello, I live in the USA in Florida. What I loved about Sebastian’s review (I am a long time subscriber to his channel) is how he describes and breaks down this fragrance! I trust a lot of Sebastian’s reviews and he has led me to many purchases simply from how he describes his fragrances… from what I have learned from him, I have been able to be confident in every recommendation he has made that I have purchased and he turned out to never be wrong! So when he describes this one as being kind of citrusy with all those citruses, but the main key opening heavy player here in those being the lemon and a little lime, I believe it. And then obviously how this being named vetiver sensuel, vetiver being the next key player/star of the show… and with the amber to tie it all together and add depth to the fragrance. As a vetiver fan, all in all, this just seems like a fantastic fragrance and one I would love to get my hands on for sure!! What I loved about Michelyns intro is learning how vetiver was used in the past and throughout history… how it was associated with “sexual experiences “, and that people bathed in it to attract love or sex. Which is really funny to me, because I can’t envision unrefined pur and raw vetiver that they would have cultures years ago back in these times to be something enticing… being such a raw earthy note… not like how it is refined these days anyway… probably just smelled like dirt back then, haha. Anyway, I do own two manceras currently… Instant Crush and Cedrat Boise… but I love them both and love the brand and a mancera fan that plans on only owning many more in due time. This one sounds amazing and I would love to win this giveaway as I know this will find a good hole in my collection! Thanks again for another great opportunity!!

  • I have learned a lot from watching Sebastian’s reviews, he does a good job of explaining the fragrances. I currently only have one Mancera fragrance and it is Cedrat Boise (love it), I had heard and read so many positive reviews on it, so I purchased a sample, then immediately ordered a full bottle.
I have my eye on a few that I will be trying out like Black Gold, Wild Cherry, Instant Crush, Sicily, Vanille Exclusive, Jardin Exclusif and the list could go on, so I am sure this will not be my last fragrance from Mancera.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the great review Sebastien.

With Sebastien’s review – it was nice to hear him say that this was a fragrance with depth. Too often the citrus, vetiver woods genre ends up smelling like a common mall cologne. I will be defnitely interesting in trying this out.

Michelyn’s Introduction – Vetiver ‘Khus” oil/attar has been distilled for centuries in my country and we use it in the summers to cool the body. It has a calmind influence and I defintely agree that this would be a good year for them.

Mancera Cedrat Boise is the only one I’ve smelt and I enjoy it.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • VIVIANA MUDD says:

I love vetiver, I close my eyes and can smell my uncle and my grandfather who wore something (I can’t remember, I think it was EA) that was sandalwood and vetiver. Mancera is so cool, they last all day long, they have the most original fragrances and they are not ridiculously priced, making them easier to get. On a side note, I really would like to see a review of Femininity and I can’t find one, or where to buy it.

  • I love the passion Sebastian brings to every review – he describes the fragrances with such enthusiasm, I feel like I could spend every penny I earn on the scents he suggests!
I also adore the nod to historical homeopathic remedies in Michelyn’s introduction, and I think the artwork they chose represents beautifully what I imagine is a crisp, outdoorsy scent.
My favorite Mancera is Wild Python – it was my first niche purchase and has a special place in my heart.

  • Matt Piasecki says:

Thank you for the chance to win a bottle. Mancera is one of my favorite houses. I’d love to own this one as well. Im actually wearing Amber Fever right now.
    Great review as always!

  • I’m a huge fan of mancera and I love that he always reviews the newest ones, my favorite mancera is Amber Fever

  • I have to sample Vetiver Sensuel , no doubts about it , because how inviting it is. Mancera DNA clicks with me really well , and on top of all performance is always there.
Health benefits of vetiver Michelyn mentioned i was not aware of . I like vetiver fragrances, but bathing in vetiver is a bit too much i think.
Wild Fruits is one of my every day fragrances, and Choco Violet , birthday gift form my brother is my favorite Mancera.
    Cheers from VA

  • I’ m definitely interested in trying this perfume. I enjoyed Sebastian’s review of it; the notes pyramid of it seems like something that I could enjoy. I’m interested in seeing what the vetiver, mint, woodiness and citruses in this are like. Sebastian made it seem like it’s a good perfume to have. I liked Michelyn’s introduction of it because, e.g. just this year I started learning about vetiver and Michelyn’s intro. certainly added to my understanding of it. I started using Lalique’s “Encre Noire” this year and that is definitely one of my favorite fragrances–I bought about a few bottles of it in the past few months. I enjoy vetiver. I started hearing about Mancera and Montale as late as this year. I enjoy strong fragrances, so I think that it is good to know about Mancera. Even though this perfume isn’t considered to be as strong as most other Mancera perfumes, I probably would still like it and I hope to win it. I still haven’t tried any Mancera perfumes yet. I live in MD., U.S.A.

  • No wonder I like vetiver. I learned that it’s used to reduce anxiety. I like the thought of a citrusy vetiver. Sebastian says that it’s different. Thanks for the opportunity to sniff. Michigan USA

  • I appreciated Michelin’s background information on vetiver. I didn’t realize it had ayurvedic properties and was supposed to reduce stress and calm anxieties. I liked Sebastian’s analysis of the notes and the prominence of citrus as well as how it compares with other vetiver fragrances. Favorite Mancera is Hindi Kush. Commenting from MD, USA.

  • Gary M. Gettis says:

I binge watch all of Sebastian’s videos! The way he described perfumery is awesome and he’s my newest fave! I would love to try this Mancera release!

  • Sheddrick Dante Marable says:

This fragrance seems like a breathe of fresh air I love the vetiver breakdown by Sebastian and the lemon notes my favorite Dancers is Aoud Sandroses I so wanna try this one from my favorite house..

  • I learned about Mancera’s vetiver recently and I was very interested in trying it. I was very excited to see the review of it here. Michelyn’s intro was great, I really didn’t know veriver was associated with love/sex or was used for calming down! You always learn something new here! Sebastian’s review was good as always. He describes the notes so well. What I love in this fragrance is the mint note. When done well it can be such a great thing! I also like that even though it has some citrus on top it still has depth. That is a big plus. I don’t own any of the Mancera fragrances yet, so I don’t really have a favorite for now. I tried only a few. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • Kevin Scharfstein says:

Sebastian’s Reviews are always on point. I have found that I like a lot of the same fragrances and it gives me confidence in blind buying on is opinions. Cedrat Boise is one of my jams. Can’t get enough. The more I wear it the better it gets.

  • Kiet Truong says:

As always, Sebastian review is very thorough breaking down each and every notes, looks like there are a lot of citrus in this one, kinda mouth watering. Also thank you Michelyn for mentioning that vetiver was thought to attract love, if I don’t win this, I’ll definitely will sample and maybe douse myself in this since it’s almost coupling season ;). My favorite from Mandela used to be Red Tobacco but I just got Hindu Kush so it has taken the place now. Texas, USA

  • Thank you Europerfumes and Cafleurebon for this draw , and of course Sebastian, and Michelyn.
I know Vetiver Sensuel , it’s clean easily wearable vetiver , crowd pleasing fragrance.
I also get something herbal playing it’s role in the background.
I know very little about Ayurveda, so I won’t comment about it. As far as vetiver being attractive, it is if it’s a clean one, like the one in Vetiver Sensuel.
I absolutely love Mancera – own 10 big bottles , and i want a lot more.Favorite Mancera fragrance….a hard one-depends of my mood.Right now i would say Wild Cherry .
Already do follow all of you on IG -Cafleurebon , Sebastian , Europarfums and Mancera. Beverly Hills Perfumery too.

  • Sebastian’s review was phenomenal, as always. He gives honest, unbiased thoughts, which makes it easy to trust his reviews. He does an incredible job of describing the complexity and the journey of the fragrance from the top notes through the dry down. Watching his reviews are the next best thing to smelling the fragrances in person (I may have blind bought a fragrance after watching one of his reviews). His reviews are extremely accurate too. What makes Sebastian stand out is that he knows the intricacies of each fragrance house, and shares how the “DNA” of the house is imparted on each fragrance.

The introduction by Michelyn gave interesting background on vetiver – I learned something new! It also gives a good synopsis of Vetiver Sensuel and its uniqueness. It sounds like a complex fragrance that grounds the summery citrus notes with a vetiver and woody base.

My favorite Mancera fragrance is Cedrat Boise. It’s a beautiful citrus/woody fragrance with slight spicy notes and a hint of patchouli/moss/leather/vanilla. Very complex, bright, and a bit creamy. Love the versatility and wearability of it too!

  • Bryant Worley says:

I really appreciated Michelyn’s intro, giving the benefits of vetiver, especially her noting that vetiver has the ability to attract love and/or sex (note to self: horde vetiver oil;-D) As for Sebastian, the man gives awesome reviews, knowledgeably breaking down this fragrance into the smallest details,, along with being enthusiastic about this fragrance. It is obvious he loves vetiver, as do I.

My favorite fragrance house is Mancera, and my fave scent is Red Tobacco, followed by Black Gold. But that’s only ‘currently’, as I have a lot more sampling to do.

I live in Waldorf, MD, USA.

  • Jonathan Pierce says:

Sébastien and Michelyns review both mention a lemon, mint, and vetiver. A winning combination in my opinion and one I would love to get my nose on. I have tried cedrat boise, red tabacco, black gold and wind wood. I own cedrat boise and its one of my favorite fragrances. If this fragrance can take away the anxiety of 2020 like Michelyns review states then I’m all in! Lol thanks for the opportunity to win a fragrance.

  • Therealotitis says:

Sebastian’s reviews are always phenomenal, because he covers all grounds that a fragrance noobie to the spectrum of a fraghead like myself can appreciate! Michelyn’s introduction was also fantastic: she provided a good history of the key note in the fragrance, as well as made the fragrance seem very intruiging!

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always great. Michelyn’s intro was most informative. I love the idea of putting lemon and vetiver together. Mmmm. Many thanks to Sebastian and Michelyn and many thanks to Europerfumes for making this draw possible. I’m in the USA

  • I liked in Michelyn’s intro how she mentioned vetiver is associated with sensual experiences, even bathing in vetiver for attraction of love ans or sex in some cultures. I did not know that and it explains the name as I was curious about why it was called Vetiver Sensuel. I did know about vetiver oil being used to reduce anxiety but not the other benefits she mentioned. My girl diffuses essential oils all the time and after learning it reduced anxiety ive asked her if we can try it as anxiety/panic attacks are an issue for me. Haven’t tried it yet but this is a reminder to so thanks! I like how Sebastian explained the bright citrus opening with some spice and woody vetiver dry down but I think the amber and white musk touches will ass quite a bit to this in terms of enjoyment for me personally. My favorite Mancera as of now is Instant Crush and there’s a number I’d like to try such as Amber Fever, Sicily, Jardin Exclusive, Black Vanilla, and others. Thanks for the generous draw, from CT USA.

  • As Mancera is one of my top fragrance houses, i was quite intrigued to hear of this new release. Sebastian and I have very similar tastes so to hear this review, I am certainly excited to try this new juicy scent. My favorite from the house which works amazingly with my chemistry is certainly Aoud Violet! Can’t wait to get my hands on this one and experience the complexities that Mancera is known for.

  • Im not familiar with vetiver and don’t own any of these fragrances but would like to try. I liked that both Sebastian and Michelyn talked about the history and benefits of the vetiver oil. Also, the citrus minty note.

  • I really enjoyed how Michelyn’s pointed out that vetiver can be associated with soothing qualities, and how we all definitely need that as this roller coaster of a year comes to an end. As for Sebastian’s review, he is so good at vividly describing how the fragrance performs: how it transitions from tart citrus at the top, to a complimentary mint in the mid, all the way down to a base of woods, amber, and musk to give it some depth. As always an amazing review, this fragrance sounds absolutely lovely. Kind regards from Illinois, USA.

  • Rimvydas Valotka says:

I think Sebastian’s review was great. Can’t wait to try it. My favorite Mancera is Red tobacco.

  • I love Vetiver in fragrances and listening to Sebastian’s review I could feel the vetiver surrounding me. Although the fragrance sounds a bit masculine, I think I would love it’s aroma on my skin, maybe with a feminine and delicate dress, to create a contrast. I own Roses and chcolate from Mancera, it was a blind buy, but it is almost a perfect gourmand fragrance for me.

  • Mauricio Mejia says:

Thank you Sebastian for enveloping me in the world of fragrance!!! I have to admit to being somewhat of a novice when it comes to fragrances but I always look forward to your reviews. Your breakdown of this fragrance left me wanting to immediately grab a bottle of Vetiver Sensuel. Michelyn’s intro was a prelude to all the possibilities while wearing this fragrance. My fav Mancera is Cedrat Boise

  • Hi sebastian I’m one of your favourite. I like to see your videos and all are amazing I’ve use many of the perfume according to your suggestions .some I could not get here in india.

Nice new gem by Mancera. I mean it’s new to me, because I haven’t tried it.
Semi sweet fragrance, semi floral , with ;lke Michelyn said ” musky, woody amber drydown ” . I appreciate it’s not juvenile ultra sugary bomb.
Perfect for office environment. I know both Michelyn and Sebastian said Vetiver Sensuel is not over the top strong, but usually Mancera fragrances are really potent, and I don’t need to bath myself if I want to project.
Also I don’t wear fragrance for compliments, but when I put Cedrat Boise or Aoud Cafe going out , I know I’ll most likely get some.
Cedrat Boise is my favorite one.
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • What do I now feel the extreme necessity of owning this bottle of parfum? It must be the awesome review and Introduction or perhaps the fact that Mancera is just one the best perfume house that is, with great quality fragrances and a large inventory to choose from. I don’t know what is it about Mancera…but from this house I currently own Instant Crush and Roses Vanille and I really love them both. I have been looking to add a third Mancera to my collection so this review really came in handy, perfect timing! Thank you for another awesome review and opportunity. Commenting from Orlando, Fl.

  • Michelyn – yes, all fragrance notes appeal to different senses hence the usage though I really doubt vetiver appeals to attract love – Vetiver is a very personal note (not impressionable). It can bring grounding(earthy, rooty), sense of cooling and calmness ; it can help dissipate agitation and irritation especially in dry warm condition. Almost like your parched soul is being irrigated. Though it can be turned Smokey dry (Sycamore) though that is not its natural purpose.

Sebastian- I do enjoy watching him regularly but in this one he misses the one essential point which I really like to hear from his vast experience. He doesn’t compare it to already existing 100s vetivers out there – How is this different and why should one add it to collection or avoid it for redundancy.

Regardless, being a vetiver fan I am certain I wud enjoy this Mancera.

  • Daniel Fisher says:

Sebastian has a wonderful nose. One of the people I’d trust when it comes to differentiating notes. Sounds like this is a citrus forward woody vetiver and it does seem appealing. And while intensity does seem to be a selling point for Mancera, sometimes certain effects need less tremendous presence, so this is totally okay in my book. It’s not over expensive, so if you feel like you need to reapply you probably could but I have a feeling it would be unnecessary. I love the light dip into Ayurvedic medicine in the intro. From Texas with Love
    Xoxo

  • From the review, it seems the fragrance name may lead some to surprises as they may be expecting strong vetiver but will be met with quite a fresh composition. My fav from Mancera is Cedrat Boise. USA

  • Woody-spicy fragrances are awesome for the autumn and winter .
Clean vetiver , natural sweetness from citruses, woods , amber, guys we have a winner in Vetiver Sensuel . I don’t mind the toned down performance, I’ll just spray more 🙂
About the sexyness of vetiver, that’s personal preference. Never heard about vetiver being immune stimulating herb
Mancera do have a lot of fragrances, and I’m a bit new to the house despite the fact I own 4 – Aoud Black Candy + Roses and Chocolate + Sicily + Blue Notes .
My favorite one is not yet in my possession , Red Tobacco .
Special thanks to Europerfumes for keeping the fire going, for the whole time since …..

  • I enjoyed MICHELYN’s digital art as well as the connection made between vetiver and it Ayurvedic properties. As always, Sebastien provided another thorough and well informed review on this fragrance. He convinced me that I need to try, if not own a full bottle, because although I have a few vetiver dominant scents, none that have the base and overall accord that Sebastien described. Thank you!

  • I enjoyed MICHELYN’s digital art as well as the connection made between vetiver and its Ayurvedic properties. As always, Sebastien provided another thorough and well informed review on this fragrance. He convinced me that I need to try, if not own a full bottle, because although I have a few vetiver dominant scents already, none have the base and overall accord that Sebastien described. Currently my favorite Mancera fragrance is Instant Crush. Thank you!

  • What I love about Michelyn’s introduction is the esoteric vetiver info and the cool picture. What I love about Sebastian’s review is what I always love about Sebastian’s reviews: He is so thorough and follows the same structure. For this one, I particularly noticed the mention of mint and that this isn’t strong for a vetiver fragrance. I have never tried a Mancera fragrance and I live in Kansas, US.

  • Sebastian does a great job of describing this scent, it sounds pretty deep and earthy, which appeals to me, although apparently not as much as your typical Mancera – I wouldn’t know, I’m eager to try one. Michelyn’s take was interesting too, I didn’t know about the different uses and associations of vetiver – one of my favorite notes in perfumery!

  • Michael Werno says:

I liked Sebastian’s description of the “citrus juices” in the video, and I liked Michelyn’s interesting fact about vetiver’s association with “sensual experiences.”

  • After watching the video of Sebastian and Michelyn takes on Vetiver Sensuel, i was reminded of me making Lemon-Mint Cake with Lemon Syrup , and eating it while in the woods.
Again can’t help it – Pastry Chef is coming forward .
Bathing in vetiver i would never do , maybe thousands of years ago it was considered attractive, i don’t know. I’m not even sure what Ayurvedic medicine is.
Favorite Mancera without a doubt is Aoud Black Candy . Love the lakritz candies accord in it. Worldwide most use “lakritz” , but in States it’s known as licorice .
Appreciate Sebastian review, Michelyn introduction, and the giveaway campaign

Sebastian is one of 3 reviewers that I trust and this is one I’m definitely going to try. I was pretty much sold at vetiver and mint lol

  • From Sebastian’s review, I enjoyed hearing about the very juicy lemon opening. Although it is a fresh and citrusy scent, it still has depth from the vetiver which makes it suitable for year round wear. I really enjoyed learning about other cultures who bathe in vetiver to attract love and sex. It really speaks volumes about how sensual of an ingredient vetiver is. I do not have a favorite Mancera fragrance because I have never tried any before. I really need to expand my olfactory wardrobe. Reading from Florida, USA.

  • Enjoyed the detailed review by Sebastian as usual. Mancera fragrances are certainly deep, from what I have heard. I like their Aoud Exclusif, my only Mancera experience, and I haven’t tried their other offerings. Michelyn provided some good information as to vetiver’s anxiolytic and sensual properties, perfect for this crazy year. From Sebastian’s review, it seems Vetiver Sensual may be worn any time of the year. It seems it is uplifting and grounding at the same time, like having a cup of olfactory green tea. No experience with Europerfumes, yet, though I have one experience with Mancera noted above. Thanks for the review and the draw. Writing from the USA.

  • Classy and elegant, my thoughts on Vetiver Sensuel. Not every fragrance should be overwhelmingly strong. A date, live jazz concert, coffee shop, the places i would potentially wear Vetiver Sensuel.
My favorite one is Precious Oud , also the one that gets me the most compliments is Aoud Cafe.
I am a big fan of vetiver fragrances, especially mixed with juicy citruses like in Vetiver Sensuel, but i don’t believe both in Ayurveda, and the relaxing properties of vetiver , sorry Michelyn.

  • From the Sebastian’s review on his Youtube video, I enjoyed hearing about how the very lemon opening is complimented by the mint heart note of the fragrance. Such a pairing almost reminds me of a fresh type of cocktail. I really enjoyed learning from the introduction about all the supposed effects that vetiver is supposed to have on person, from calming them down to reducing stress to boosting immune system. I really hope to win because I have never tried a Mancera fragrance before. I live in Florida, USA.

I enjoyed Sebastian’s video because it is as descriptive of the citrus notes, and the video was short enough to enjoy during a quick break at work.

I learned something new about vetiver, Michelyn’s explanation on how the note of vetiver as Ayurvedic medicine use, vetiver can calm, reduce anxiety and anger.

I have not had to opportunity to experience any of the Mancera scents, but Vetiver Sensual hits both my love for vetiver and citrus aromatic fragrances.

    I live in the USA.

  • Another informative review by Sebastian! I love how he said that the lemon works well with mint in this fragrance. And thanks to Michelyn, I now know that vetiver is related to “sensual experiences” in some cultures.

Love how Sébastian cuts to the chase & wastes no time in describing fragrances. Especially ones he really enjoys. Hearing him describe this one has me wanting to try it cause I’ve been on a citrus kick lately and vetiver is one of my favorite notes! Now add in Michelyn’s, “vetiver is associated with “sensual experiences” and in some cultures bathing in vetiver to attract love and/or sex.” I’M SOLD! My favorite Mancera is a tie between Instant Crush & Cedrat Boise. Good luck from Boston, Ma!

VETIVER VETIVER VETIVER. It’s my obsession. In all its forms – dried roots, khus, and oils – vetiver is such a soothing, calm-inducing scent for me. Last month I emailed Sebastian in desperation, looking for a way to get my hands on Dior’s Vetiver. It’s my all-time favorite fragrance. It’s incredibly difficult to acquire and expensive to boot. In looking for alternatives, I’m incredibly excited to try this fragrance from Mancera out. First, I haven’t sampled any Mancera fragrances, BUT, I have sampled MANY Montale fragrances, and those houses happen to have the same nose – Pierre Montale. Knowing the quality and longevity of Montale, I’m sure that, despite its less-beasty sillage, will still perform excellently. I love simpler vetiver fragrances, and the Citrus top note breaking to the woody base sounds amazing. I always enjoy Sebastian’s videos. There’s no BS, I wholeheartedly trust his nose, and they’re informative. Scent is subjective, and describing the experience is challenging and Sebastian and Michelyn are doing it well. I appreciated Michelyn’s suggestion that wearing this fragrance now might be a good idea as 2020 has been *quite* unsettling. Thanks for offering up such great smells for us!!

  • I love Sebastian honesty about the frag. We know he’s a big fan of vetiver. Appreciated that he pointed out that this is not a quintessential Mancera, being that it’s not as beast mode. My fav Mancera is Cedrat Boise. Michelyn did the same as Sebastian pointing out that this is a more moderate frag.

  • I’ve mentioned a few times on Cafleurebon that I’m a big believer in herbology ,of course i know vetiver health benefits. It’s a mild sedative, and yes it does boost your immune system a bit, but to me the main benefits are its anti-spazmodic (clinically proven) and anti-inflammatory properties.
I need this beauty in my life. Uplifting multipurpose kind of fragrance , that’s what I think about about Vetiver Sensuel
My favorite Mancera is Black Vanilla, closely followed by Cedrat Boise. If you’re into fragrances, you know Cedrat Boise well, smelled it, or at very least heard the name, but I don’t get why Black Vanilla doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. Smells so good , but almost no one talks about it .
    Thanks. USA

Sebastian is my go-to fragrance reviewer. I owe Mancera Instant Crush and enjoy the many compliments so I expect the same reaction with the Vetiver.

  • I like Michelyn’s detail from the Van Gogh painting. It seems the perfect image for this review. I also liked her review of the different claims made for vetiver, some of which the web site is careful to not make any promises about. I thought Sebastian’s explaining how this is different from other citrus-vetiver fragrances was very helpful in getting a sense of what the wearing experience would be all about. I am in North Carolina in the US.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s breakdown of the notes, and Michelyn’s examples of various ways vetiver is used in different cultures. My favorite Mancera fragrance is Red Tobacco.

    Thanks for running the giveaway.

  • Excellent review by Sebastian as always! I’m new to the world of Mancera so the more knowledge I acquire the better and can make informed decisions! Based in the US

  • Enjoyed the review. Haven’t tried this one. Cedrat Boisé is my favorite Mancera at the moment. Too many to try from This House.
Thank you for the draw, Ca

  • Love “Instant Crush”, “Sicily”
Always appreciate Sebastian’s review on YouTube and enjoying his detailing descriptions of fragragrances. Will be nice if Mancera Sensuel Vetiver helps with anxiety! Thank you for sharing this information Michelyn !

Michelyn, great introduction on Vetiver. That it can be used as an aphrodesiac, to reduce and anger, and to boost your immune system. Sebastian with another amazing review. Mancera Vetiver Sensuel which has a different vibe than typical Mancera fragrances in the overall DNA and performance categories. Sebastian also touches on how this Vetiver fragrance differs from other Vetiver fragrances this with a prominent lemon and mint note to accent the vetiver, but also with possesses a lot of depth in the base which really appeals to me. My favorite Mancera fragrance is Cedrat Boise. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • I had no idea that bathing in vetiver is used to attract love. Very interesting Michelyn. I honestly love everything about Sebastian’s videos. He’s so knowledgable and relatable, making it easy to have a great idea of what a fragrance is like. I love vetiver. USA

  • Mancera is my favorite house ..I had no idea of the mental and healing properties of vetiver. Which I learned from Michelyn’s introduction. I always enjoy Sebastians videos the depth that this reviewer goes to in the break down of a fragrance in phenomenal. Not to mention he’s a looker and easy in the eyes. I specifically liked when he pointed out that Vetiver Sensuel is not as strong as most other Mancera’s, As I prefer my fragrances to compliment not over power me.

  • I love vetiver fragrances…so much so that 40% of my fragrance collection features this note. Sebastian’s and Michelin’s review of Vetiver Sensuel by Mancera leads to believe that it is exactly what I look for in a modern fragrance – cleanliness from the lemon, freshness from the mint, earthiness from the vetiver, and warmth from the amber. I’m hoping this will become my new favorite from the House of Mancera; my current love is Hindu Kush.

  • Wow! Didn’t know vetiver can boost immunity. It is indeed better to use vetiver based fragrances in times like this. Sebastian always delivers detailed description of the notes. I always trust his recommendations. He really likes it so it is a must try. Love citrus, woody and spicy fragrance. Favorite Mancera is Cedrat Boise and Roseaoud & Musc. Hub’s signature scent is Mancera Pearl. IL, USA

  • I love all of Sebastian’s reviews. And I love that he featured a vetiver scent like this. My favorite mancera is aoud lemon mint. Thanks.

  • I would agree that the scent of vetiver can heal stress. Didn’t know it might help your immune system though. I love all of Sebastian’s reviews. He seems to be as much of a mancera fan as myself. My favorite of theirs is aoud lemon mint. Thanks.

  • Sebastian is amazing at describing scents. After hearing a review I feel as if i already know what the fragrance smells like. This article was very interesting, I had no idea vetiver was used to calm anxiety. Know that I know this I’m definitely going to try it to see if it helps my anxiety. Thanks for the chance. Lauren. • Just starting out learning about fragrances and have definitely figured out that vetiver is a note that I can’t get enough of. Sebastian’s reviews are always very informative and this is no different. Vetiver Sensual definitely sounds like an interesting one to try out as it combines the vetiver with different notes than have currently sampled.

  • Mancera is one of my favorite houses and vetiver is a note that has been growing on me recently. I’d say that red tobacco is my favorite from them, and is the only full bottle I’ve purchased, though I’m sure I’ll buy more. I liked how Sebastian described that it was not a complete freshy and that the amber darkens it up a bit. I have encre noir but I feel that might be a bit too dark, so the citrus is very welcome. I enjoyed reading about the uses of vetiver oil beyond perfume in the introduction, so interesting! I need to get my hands on some oil now haha. Thanks for the chance at the giveaway, from Idaho USA
