The House of Mancera Parfums was created by the founder of the company, Pierre Mancera, uses high quality raw ingredients and are bottled in art deco flacons. Many of the scents are distinctively “Eastern” in feel and the company is known by many for their use of oud; the surprise is just how many “western” leaning fragrances are in the range. A perfumista favorite is Mancera Parfums Cedrat Boise (2011) which combines two popular classifications in fragrance: citrus and woody. Cedrat is a type of citrus known as a citron and Boise (pronounced bwhaz) means wood or woody. No “cedrat”, i.e. citron is listed in the notes, but a crisp lemon and a burst of bergamot recreate it beautifully. Lest you think this is yet another citrus-woody-aromatic,Cedrat Boise differs with its warmth; hints of spices, fruit and moss take this fragrance from bright and bold to woody and rich. But it’s the smooth operators- the sandalwood and a tease of vanilla that differentiates Mancera Cedrat Boise
