Mancera Hindu Kush Review + Mountain High Draw

Hindu Kush Mountain range apped by Michelyn

Perfumes have the ability to transport us to different times and to places. Their names can be literal or imaginative. Mancera Hindu Kush is one of the latest 2018 releases from the popular House and features a cannabis note, thus the “kush". Hindu Kush refers to the mountain range dramatic and dangerous to cross, stretching 500 miles between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Its history in the East dates back to Alexander the Great’s conquests. Fragrance also has the ability to surprise us. Given its name, one would expect Mancera Hindu Kush to be all about the cannabis but as a Woody-Oriental, the guaiac-wood, soft and opulent is the true star of the fragrance.

I must say the notes are contrary to my expectations. The name HinduKush made me think it would be icy cold so the spicy, woody, and ambery notes came as a surprise. The addition of vanilla seems suitable as it gives a kind of ‘white’ vibe to the perfume. I am in US. My fav. Mancera is Cedrat Boise.

  • I enjoy the detail that Sebastian goes into when describing all the fragrances. I was interested in how this is both green and creamy with discernible notes of cannabis. I have only smelled a few fragrances with cannabis notes and not all are created equal. I am curious to smell what kind of composition Hindu Kush is. I am from the USA. Thank you!

  • This is one of my new favs. I was able to get a sample and absolutely fell in love. Would love to own a full bottle. I have 2 small children so spending just under 200 for a fragrance isnt really possible. I am a collector but more designer that I can get a bit cheaper. I would be ecstatic to own this. I love Sebastian’s channel because I have learned a lot from different fragrances I would have otherwise not known about. Well fingers crossed and thanks for doing this giveaway.

I really intrigue by Sebastian’s review and since autumn is around the corner will love to be the lucky one to get that cozy creamy juice.

  • Really would love to try this. The notes sound very interesting to me. The way Sabastian describes it, seems like something I would love to add to my collection. Thanks

  • I would really like to get this scent. I have a few Mancera products that are Top Notch quality fragrances. Current Favorite by Mancera is Cedrat Boise and Kumkat Wood. I live in the US. Thanks.

  • Amazing. I love Oriental-Woody fragrances and Mancera is a house I have yet to explore. Gaiac wood is one of my favorite notes, so I can imagine and appreciate the coziness and the creamy-dry combo that Sebastian is talking about. I’m intrigued about the cannabis note and what it can provide to the Gaiac-Vanilla.
I’d love to win HIndu Kush, please consider me in the giveaway.
    I’m from Miami.
    Thanks!

  • Great review as always coming from Sebastian. I’ve seen only good things about this particular fragrance. I own cedrat boise and aoud vanille from this house, and those are just fantastic. I would love to test this juice, thanks for the chance. Oakland US.

  • Never had the pleasure of trying anything from Mancera but Cedrat Bois sounds most interesting to me. Gaiac wood is one of my favorite notes and judging from Sebastian’s description i believe this is something ill def like. Id love to win Hindu Kush. Im in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • Gabriel Garcia says:

    Nice review spotlight by Sebastian.
Mancera keeps only shining forward, even though I’m not a fan of cannabis, but it sounds like a great blend.
    My favorite is oud intensitive.

  • I really enjoyed how Sebastian, explains all the notes and the pricing of the perfume, my fav Mancera is roses vanille and I would love to win Hindu Kush because it sounds absolutely amazing!!
    Thanks you

  • I find it interesting that this could be an office scent with that note breakdown. Would be very nice to own as an off the beaten path every day wear.

  • Adrian Horga says:

Hello, I love the fact that he is reviewing Mancera. Great niche value brand. As always a very good review. I was surprised he called it creamy!

  • Sebastian made this come alive as always. Sounds like a sweet spicy wonder. Right up my alley. Have only tried Oud Cafe from this house and loved it. Would love to try this one as well. Can already tell it’s highly delectable.

  • What I like the most about Sebastian’s review of Hindu Kush is that he said some of my favorite notes are most prominent. He really caught my attention talking about the amber and guaiac wood. I also love spice in a fragrance. Maybe it is dramatic and dangerous like it’s name sake; if so I definitely want to try it. Thank you to Europerfumes, ÇaFleureBon and Sebastian for making the giveaway possible!

  • khalilnasir says:

I loved the description Sebastian gave of Hindu Kush, because by the name would have a person leary of purchasing it but what a lovely scent. I have an sample, my favorite Mancera fragrances is wild fruit and cedrat Boise.

  • broomflower says:

Wish I could enter–I smelled Hindu Kush at my local Perfume Shoppe and it is so gorgeous!

  • Sarah Sperlein says:

I love the way Sebastian describes this fragrance and how detailed he is. Although I’ve never heard nor sampled Mancera fragrances, I would love to give them a try. I would love to have a bottle of Mancera Hindu Kush because it sounds like a fragrance that I would enjoy a lot and wear a lot. Additionally, if anyone asks what I’m wearing, I would recommend Mancera fragrances to anyone.

  • Eddie BeGr8 says:

I thought this would be a pot perfume, I like soft Woody frags so please count me in!
    Really good stuff Sebastian

  • This was a great review by Sebastian! Although this is a woody-oriental fragrance, I am glad that Sebastian referred to it as cozy. I also loved that he said that it was creamy, classy, and wearable at work. I love the cannabis fragrance by Fresh and would love to see how this one compares. Thanks for the draw and I live in the US! 🙂

  • Yes I did watch Sebastian’s Very informative review on Mancera Hindu Kush. I like his detailed description of the notes composition and how the notes are perceived. Another Mancera perfume I own and enjoy is Mancera Red Tobacco.

  • I enjoyed that Sebastian’s review was concise without missing a point about how the fragrance made him feel. I havent had the chance to fully test out Mancera fragrances, and a bottle will be a great way to test out a fragrance with full wearings.

    Thanks!

  • What I liked about the review was the highlight of notes and Eebastian confirming this fragrance is office safe. He always does a great job explaining all the nuances to a fragrance. My favorite Mancera fragrances are Wind Wood, Red Tobacco, and Aoud Vanille.

  • Chuck Goodpaster says:

Sebastian always introduces me to new scents. I own zero Mancera and this one sounds nice. Another concise easy to understand video. Thank you

  • nycfragrances says:

What I liked is how Sebastian described it as bright and fresh. I also liked that it surprised him and it wasn’t what he expected. I have sampled it before and I love it. I love how they use the cannabis note just enough with the other notes to make a lovely fragrance. My Favorite Mancera fragrances are Sicily, Velvet Vanilla, Gold Incense and Cedrat Boise

  • The guaiac note is calling my name. Sebastian described it as a creamy & cozy. I love that it’s unisex. I would love to try a Mancera fragrance. USA

  • Loved Sebastian’s review! I love to hear about the interesting fragrances he has that are always different than other YouTubers talk about. I’m really interested in this fragrance, as I’m new to more niche fragrances, would love to smell it!

  • A cozy and comfy woody fragrance just in time for autumn?! Yes! I enjoyed how Sebastian broke down each note. He’s such a superstar at that. I think my favorite Mancera would Sicily. I’d like to win Hindu Kush because it has received a lot of hype in the fragrance community and I really enjoy a creamy woods fragrance. Arkansas, USA

  • I loved Sebastian”s review, too. Sadly, I’m ALL about “office scents” LOL. I haven’t yet tried anything from Mancera, but would love to.

  • I was expecting this to smell harsh and almost cold, but Sebastian made it sound like a cozy winter day in snuggling around which is what I live for.

  • I liked how surprised Sebastian was. I haven’t found any Mancera loves yet. Still looking. I love orientals with spice and incense, amber, musk, etc. What’s not to love? The creaminess sounds great. Labdanum does that for me.

  • I’ve never tried Mancera but this sounds amazing! Would love to try it. I love incense and Sebastian has excellent taste in incense especially. Thanks! California

  • Sebastian is so knowledgeable. I haven’t tried anything by Mancera yet but, I would like to get my nose on Cedrat Boise, Kumquat Wood and Lemon Line to name a few. It definitely sounds like Hindu Kush would fit my style. I can definitely appreciate the addition of cannabis oil. Although I don’t smoke or anything, I think it’s provocative and interesting.

  • I like his description of “cozy creaminess,” “creamy woods” and cannabis oil which all together sounds very lush. I’ve not tried Mancera yet, I’m still trying out Atelier Bois Blonds from your previous reviews. I would like to try this fragrance, too.

  • Sebastian just sound so knowledgeable about every fragrance he talks about. Sadly I haven’t had a sample of Mancera Hindu Kush, but the way Sebastian talks about it just make me want it even more. Hopefully I can win ,so I can finally start my collection of fragrances back up again.

  • Another great review from Sebastian! What I liked about his description of the fragrance is that he found the scent interesting because it’s cozy, comfy, creamy for an oriental woody classification. I like woody scents and a subtle creamy, cozy, woodsy type is just lovely! I haven’t tried any Mancera yet so I’d love to win this. Thanks for this opportunity. Ish CA, USA

  • I’ve already own a full bottle the new Gold Incense and after Seb’s review I ordered a sample of Hindu Kush. I wouldn’t mind having a full bottle to sample though:))

  • Other great review from Sebastian.
WOW!!! I like woody, oriental fragrances and if thay in addition are creamy- it will be amazing.
I like some Mancera, but not find my yet.
    US

  • Daniel Bourne says:

As soon as I hear “oriental woody fragrance” I am always interested! These fragrances tend to be the ones I wear most and truly appreciate. Sebastian’s video also has me intrigued in this one. I would love to win a bottle, USA, York, Maine.

  • I love how Sebastian described the creamy aspects of this fragrance and for this reason I would love to try it. I have never tried any fragrances from this house.

    US

  • I love the cannabis note, though this one with the vanilla and “creaminess” should be quite nice and different. US

  • Dhruba Dasgupta says:

I definitely was expecting this to be a interesting take on the cannabis note after music festival came out. However he mentioned that instead it was this cozy creaminess. Thanks Sebastian for reviewing these hard to find fragrances!

  • After watching this review I’m really looking forward to trying this cologne, the way Sebastian described it makes me really interested in the creamy nature mixed with the cannabis and woody notes.

  • Interestingly, I find that Mancera fragrances often have a creamy element within a spicier drier palate. As with most, the name really peaked my interest but have yet to give it a sniff. Sebastian always does a fantastic job at giving you the outliers of a fragrance, which I appreciate. I’ve really been enjoying the nutella warm amber Aoud Cafe recently. Just balmy enough to get away with in these late summer rains. Would love to win a sniff of this new Mancera creation. USA.

  • m.r.everything says:

Hindu Kush has been going around the fragrance community lately with some very positive remarks. I have wanted to try this one since I heard it was being released! I have not tried any of the Mancera line yet, but I have several on my list I want to get in to! I like how Sebastian described the fragrance as a cozy creamy fragrance yet bright and golden! It sounds like something that almost contradicts itself but something that would go so beautifully together. I live in Delaware! Thank you for this generous opportunity, as always! Good luck to all!

  • Kyle Stevens says:

I have a couple of Manceras Black to Black and Aoud Vanille. I’ve been wanting to try this for some time. I kind of wish it smelled like the real Hindu Kush. Thank you from San Antonio TX USA

  • Sounds great. Love Sebastian’s take on the notes and creamy feel of the fragrance. I’ve always enjoyed cannabis notes in colognes and this one sounds amazing. I’ve only ever tried Cedrat Boise from Mancera. Arizona

  • Hikmat Sher Afridi says:

Amazing!!!! Love the description. Whether the guaiac-wood is the true star of the fragrance or not but here Sebastian Jara review is the cream & true star of the fragrance. hehehe.
My favorite from the perfume house Mancera is Black to Black. Thanks for the generosity & the opportunity by letting my relative address in NY, US.

  • I am really looking forward to try this one out. The ingredients sound interesting. My favorite Mncera is Aoud Orchid. Actually, Mancera is one of the best housed that makes fragrances around the world!

  • SheogorathWaldo says:

Thank you Sebastian. Ive been itching to try this, see how the cannabis oil is used. I liked how you pointed out it is NOT a dry and smoky composition, but creamy instead. Hopefully I can get ahold of it soon.

  • Ivan.napoleon says:

Im a huge fan of this house, Mancera and Montale are really good creations. My fav Mancera is the Cedrat boise, amazing performance and notes.
Sebastián s review perfect as usual and Id love to win this bottle for its amazing notes
    Miami Florida Thanks

  • My favorite perfumes are for fall and winter. Sebastian uses some of the magic words: “cozy,” “creamy.” I don’t think I have ever sniffed anything from this house so cannot claim a favorite 🙁 When Sebastian enjoys a fragrance, it really expresses thru his pleasure and enthusiasm, and this sounds like something I would love to have. Thanks from the Big SOGGY Apple!

  • Onyinye Elochukwu says:

I love the detailed description on the notes and I also love that the perfume is not too much in your face. Subtle enough to be worn to the office.
I’ll really love to have a bottle of this perfume for special outings.

  • santinoandrews@gmail.com says:

Sebastian is the only Youtube fragrance reviewer I subscribe to. He’s very descriptive and his presence is so welcoming and easygoing. I decided to try Mancera and Montale because of his previous reviews about the brands. From Mancera, I own Lemon Line and from Montale I own Santal Wood, Mood Aoud, Boise Fruite, Boise Vanille. I would like to add to my Mancera collection and Hindu Kush seems to be the perfect addition. I am looking for a fragrance that is different but not offensive. The way he described the fragrance makes it seem like it would be great for me. Hindu Kush has spicy/woody notes, so it would be perfect for me. Would be great to win a bottle.

  • Always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. Describes fragrances well. I’ve only smelled Cedrat Boisé by Mancera and liked it. This one sounds good
Would like to try it. Thanks for the giveaway
    California

  • I love the note of cannabis in frags so i enjoyed the fact that Sebastian did a review of a frag with this note. My favorite Mancera is Red Tobacco. And i would love to win this giveaway because again, i love the smell if cannabis.

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews! And this sounds like an incredible fragrance with all those spicy, woody, earthy notes. I especially love the cannabis note. I’ve never tried any Mancera fragrances. I’ve definitely put this one on my wishlist after watching his review!

    I live in Pennsylvania.

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always marvelous to listen and see, because he is so precise is looking at each note and how it contributes to the whole. Green, creamy, spicy, and with a hint a cannabis along with other notes sounds really intriguing. This would be my first Mancera, so I do hope that I win. I’m in the US

  • Thank you Europerfumes and Cafleurebon for this draw .
Again a great job by one of the best,if not the best Youtube reviewer.I do follow Sebastian since the early days of his old channel.
Cozy , comfy and creamy fragrance with some nice patch , guaiac wood , amber and vanilla.Sounds great – as a big Mancera fan i have to sample it.
I also like that the cannabis note is well blended in the background and it’s not the main player on the field.
As i said i love the house – own 9 120ml bottles , and i want a lot more.Favorite Mancera fragrance….a hard one-depends of my mood.Right now i would say Wild Cherry , but tomorrow could be a different one.
By the way my girlfriend LOVES Aoud Cafe on me.
I do follow all of you on IG -cafleurebon , Sebastian, Europarfums and Mancera.

  • Great review, as always, Sebastian. I love how you described each of Hindu Kush’s notes during the progression of the fragrance. They all sound so good. I would love to win because of your description saying it’s cozy, creamy, and reminds you of sunshine. I’ve tried a few Mancera’s and my favorite so far would be Cedrat Boise. Thanks for the review and the draw!

  • laureneboucher says:

I like that he said it was a subtle fragrance. I am extremely interested in learning more about the cannabis notes which is why I am interested in the fragrance. I live in New Hampshire. Thanks for the draw!

  • Love guaiac wood, and that it’s woody, love Sebastian’s informative review, thank you for the draw! In the US. Haven’t tried other scents from this house, but excited to try this one of I win. Thank you!

  • I’d love to win this fragrance because I’m looking for something light-handed for work. This sounds sunny and easy to wear. I also like the dichotomy of cut wood chips and creaminess. I’ve sampled Red Tobacco and liked it a lot.
    I live in the USA.

  • Sebastian makes it sound relatively tame for a Mancera fragrance. Decadent but not necessarily gourmand. Curious to try that. That’s also why Id like to win. My fav from the house varies, but I’m thinking Lemon Line.
    Im in the US. Thanks

  • I’m intrigued by Sebastian’s review because based on the notes I would expect something more austere. I am intrigued by the cozy creaminess that he encountered. I’ve not tried any Mancera fragrances but this one sounds like a winner for me. I’m in the U.S. Thanks!

  • Great description by Sebastian-the best Youtube reviewer.I’m intrigued – cozy , creamy fragrance with pronounced guaiac wood , amber and vanilla in the base.More creamy than dry oriental , and easy to wear classy fragrance … WOW
I do appreciate Hindu Kush is not some pot bomb like Smoke For The Soul by Kilian .
I do own 120ml of Choco Violet – a birthday gift form my brother.Absolutely love this one , but that’s the only Mancera fragrance i’ve smelled up until now.
Tnx for the draw – much appreciated.
Long time follower of Sebastian ,Cafleurebon and Mancera on Instagram.I also follow @Offical_ europerfumes for like …. ~a month and a half.
    Cheers from VA

  • andrewgiacco says:

Sebastian has passion and drive and that’s why his reviews are so great and thats why I’m introduced to brands that I’ve never heard of or don’t know very well and need refreshing on. I recognize the Mancera brand but can’t recall any specific fragrances of theirs. I’d love to try this bottle because it seems like a mix of what my girlfriend and I love so much in niche fragrances, as I love orientals and she loves a woody fragrance. Coming from NYC in the USA.

  • I enjoy his channel for his reviews on niche and indie houses. I am looking to try HinduKush as I have heard that its dry down is really good even though the opening is not that pleasant.

    Cheers from New York
