Maison Tahite Vanilla Park 2024

Vanilla Park, the latest chapter from Maison Tahité’s Vanilla collection, promises one sweet journey reminiscent of stepping into the chaos of funfairs. The air is thick with anticipation and the buzz of conversations, punctuated by the occasional delighted scream from a distant rollercoaster. As you walk through the gate, the first thing that catches your eye is the cotton candy stand. The vibrant pink and blue clouds of spun sugar are hard to resist, even for an adult, and the moment you take a bite, it melts on your tongue, releasing a rush of sweetness that feels like a childhood dream. The sugary treat leaves a faint, sticky residue on your fingers, a tactile reminder of its fleeting, airy nature. Just a few steps away, the aroma of freshly popped popcorn wafts through the air. It’s a warm, buttery scent that draws you in, mingling with the salty tang that makes your mouth water. You grab a paper cone filled to the brim with golden kernels, each bite is delivering a satisfying crunch that perfectly contrasts with the cotton candy’s softness. These childhood memories come rushing back every time I step into an amusement park, and Maison Tahite Vanilla Park perfectly captures that whimsical mood of wonder.

A soft, woody opening of Ho wood oil plunges into a sensual heart, rich in vanilla absolute and fluffy powderiness of the heliotrope, adding a lush, velvety texture. The creamy and slightly toasted accents of coconut milk add an almost frothy quality like freshly whipped milk poured over a steaming cup of coffee. Then comes the pièce de resistance: a playful cotton candy accord, which adds a sticky sweetness that infuses the fragrance with youthful exuberance.

It’s worth pausing for a second to pay extra attention to the Ho Wood oil; its aroma is filled with sweet, woody, floral, and camphorous notes. The Ho Tree, from which the oil is extracted, is native to China and Southeast Asia, and the oil is steam distilled from the tree’s branches, twigs, bark, or roots. It was interesting that the wood note is used in the top notes of the composition and sets a particular tone to the whole experience. Since it is known for its usage in aromatherapy and is known to have calming and relaxing qualities, it creates a very soothing start to the whole experience, which is in turn altered in the heart with a more vigorous and gourmand amplification of the candy, coconut, and tangerine.

As the fragrance dries down, a balsamic and resinous base of styrax and benzoin makes this entire composition reminiscent of a sweet slightly commercial coffee drink many of us covet all year round, specifically caramel macchiato comes to mind. For those unacquainted with specialty coffee, this is a shot of espresso blended with steamed milk, caramel drizzle, and two pumps of vanilla, topped with mandatory frothy foam. Wearing Maison Tahité Vanilla Park on a hot summer night in New York City reminds me of savoring a warm caramel macchiato amidst the lively chaos of a funfair – it’s delicious, soothing, and mischievous.

Notes: Ho Wood Oil, Heliotrope, Tangerine Ess, Vanilla, Vanilla CO2 Absolute, Cotton Candy, Coconut Milk, Siam Benzoin, Styrax.

Wow this sounds interesting in that it starts with a spa-like feel, goes off to the boardwalk and then ends with a caramel macchiato. I LOVED your sensory descriptions of the funfair. This was a fun review to read and sounds like a really delightful fragrance that would suit any season. Thanks for the draw. From the US.

Whew…this is a mouthwatering gourmand for the books. This sounds like it has a sweet toffee smell similar to caramel macchiato. The use of vanilla absolute in the mid says this thing has some legs and a velvety sweetness that’ll probably last ages. The ho wood is new to me and I would love to own this bad boy. Well I happen to live coffee and I’m very familiar with a caramel macchiato so if this fragrance gives you that sensation, we’re in for a treat! The Ho Wood Oil is certainly very unique and the first time I see it ever on a fragrance which adds to the exotic nature of Maison Tahité. I’s thought this fragrance would go on their coffee collection but looks like it’s on the vanilla collection for the cotton candy feel it brings as well as the 2 types of vanillas used I suppose. To feel like a kid at your local carnival and having cotton candy after every ride is a feeling I miss and wish I could go back to. With Vanilla Park, I can. Cheers from USA.

  • Summer carnivals were such a staple growing up. Anything that brings that back is marvelous. Plus, my father was a carney when he was a boy. He literally ran away with the carnival at age 16. In Maryland.

  • The espresso with milk and vanilla note description absolutely fascinated me. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

Oh my Gosh!! I am a big lover of Vanilla and this would be right up my alley. Vanilla can go comfy to caramel and creamy direction. I love it all. Very eager to try this

  • I like everything about the description, the memories of childhood, the scent of salty popcorn and cotton candy, the soft opening, which corresponds to the well-being you seek as a child (and as an adult). I have nothing of this brand and Vanilla Park seems very interesting.

  • What a fun review! I’ve tried a few carnival type gourmand fragrances before and it’s usually a case of too sweet (cotton candy, caramel accords) for my preference. Vanilla Park seems to blunt the sugary aspects with coffee notes and the camphorous Ho Wood. MD,USA.

  • Playful cotton candy accord, which adds a sticky sweetness that infuses the fragrance with youthful exuberance, and Ho Wood oil who’s aroma is filled with sweet, woody, floral, and camphorous notes is what intrigues me the most about Vanilla Park. Plus vanilla and coconut – some of my favorite notes.

    Hugs from EU.

To me, everything is perfect about this. I adore gourmands. I love how you desribed the fair. And I live for caramel lattes. Popcorn note is also interesting to me. Would love it. From eu

  • I was specially intrigued about Ho Wood oil as I know it from its ability to support the immune system.
Together with vanilla I believe they will make a unique mix.

  • What intrigues me most about Maison Tahité Vanilla Park is the way it captures the essence of a funfair. Olya’s description of the fragrance layers—starting with the calming Ho wood oil and transitioning to the sweet, playful notes of cotton candy and coconut milk—paints a vivid picture. I can almost smell the warm buttery popcorn and feel the sticky sweetness of cotton candy on my fingers. The mention of the fragrance drying down to a scent reminiscent of a caramel macchiato on a hot summer night in New York City makes it sound incredibly comforting and delicious. I live in France (EU).

  • I am fascinated by the intricate blend of notes in Maison Tahité Vanilla Park. The combination of Ho wood oil with its sweet, woody, and floral notes sets a unique tone right from the start. The heart of the fragrance, rich with vanilla absolute and heliotrope, along with the creamy coconut milk, sounds absolutely delightful. The playful addition of a cotton candy accord adds a touch of youthful exuberance that I find very appealing. Olya’s review truly brings the fragrance to life, making me eager to experience this whimsical and soothing scent.

  • How interesting to blend woody notes with heart and dry down notes that give it a gourmand feel. I am so intrigued to smell it based on this quote “Since it is known for its usage in aromatherapy and is known to have calming and relaxing qualities, it creates a very soothing start to the whole experience, which is in turn altered in the heart with a more vigorous and gourmand amplification of the candy, coconut, and tangerine.”

I’ve never tried any scents from this fragrance house so I’d be thrilled for this to be my first. I love perfume with cotton candy notes!

Thanks for the nice review Olya.

I like the approach of using Ho Wood in this fragrance as the opening note. Gourmands can be quite over the top, but I think this adds a level of groundedness to the scent.

Ho Wood oil is one of my favorite smells, and I would love to snag the 100mL bottle of this intriguing scent. I see a lot of scents out there that lack the depth of such a complex combination.

    Love your work! -J

  • What intrigues me about the review was the soft woody opening of the perfume, and its drydown. The woody vanilla, powderiness opening makes it a good scent for date night pair with it’s balsamic slightly sweet coffee. Just imagining to those combined sounds delicious, and sexy. I hope I get a chance to try this perfume. Im from California USA

  • I have yet to try any Maison Tahite fragrances, but I adore their sister house, Laboratorio Olfattivo. If the scents of the kindred company are of any indication, I would say that the Tahite fragrances are expertly crafted. Of the vanilla ones they have released so far, this one seems to be one of the most interesting. I like the idea of the Ho wood and its calming properties. I imagine it works wonderfully with the styrax and benzoin in the base. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • What sparked my interest is the Ho Wood oil which is known for its usage in aromatherapy and is known to have calming and relaxing qualities.
I’ve never smelled it, but I like how Olya describes it: it creates a very soothing start to the whole experience, which is in turn altered in the heart with a more vigorous and gourmand amplification of the candy, coconut, and tangerine.
