M.Micallef Ma Nature

Each day Grasse awakens our senses by the splendour of its terroir. In this paradise illuminated by a languid sunshine, through its fields and alleyways, the air is filled with the penetrating notes released by an army of jasmine, roses, iris, tuberose, violets, orange blossoms, citrus fruits, aromatic plants… Such is the palette reflected by our creations, the mirror of a luminosity, a majestic nature, a history as well as the embodiment of our lifestyle on the Riviera. This is where we live, where we create.” – Martine Micallef & Geoffrey Nejman.

As a personal gateway into the world of niche fragrances, the brand M.Micallef holds a special place in my heart as their Ylang in Gold, Royal Rose Aoud, and Royal Muska have been cherished bottles in my collection for many years. Beautiful, roundly composed perfumes, held in precious bottles that make one go on the slippery slope of wanting to collect each and every one of them – and re-furnish the house from Swedish minimalism to intricate French maximalist – just to match the aesthetics.

For nearly 30 years, M.Micallef has set the standard for luxury niche perfumery, captivating fragrance lovers across the globe. Coming from Grasse—the epicenter of French perfumery—all the M.Micallef bottles feel like bespoke creations, blending exquisite raw materials with Martine Micallef’s artistic vision to elevate fragrance into a form of personal expression. From the very beginning, Martine has embraced the idea of perfume as an art, inspired by her background in painting and a deep-rooted passion for creating beauty in all its forms – and for all the senses.  She and her husband Geoffrey Nejman transformed their love and shared creativity into a family-run business that reflects both their bond and their respect for traditional French craftsmanship. Throughout the years, M.Micallef has built a loyal following, and it’s an inspirational success story, now reaching over 75 countries and 900 high-end retailers (including Jovoy), and their own luxurious flagship boutiques.

Ma Nature Secrets of Love

M.Micallef mood photo, via the brand

The collections of the brand cater to various aesthetics and moods, with the opulent perfumes of the Jewel and Nectar Collection hosted in sculptural beauties – bottles ornate with Swarovski crystals, embossed with hand-painted, gold accents, and jewel-like finishes that make them feel more like pieces of art or precious objects than simple perfume bottles.  On the other hand, the Secrets of Nature collection – which began in 2016, explores various facets of seduction and love and is inspired by the beauty and purity of the natural world. The bottles mirror the concept with clean lines, and subtle design elements that reflect a sense of organic harmony – with an addictive tactile element.

With the new release, M.Micallef Ma Nature, we are invited to explore a new emotion and to unveil our true nature. Ma Nature is a scent focused on the free-thinking attitude, created for those who dare to be different, and it aims to give the wearer a sense of fierce self-confidence.*

So – what better scent to encapsulate a free-thinking spirit than the earthy, sweet richness of patchouli, grounding and deep like the roots of an ancient forest? And what better color for the bottle than a deep green, evoking the leaves of the patchouli plant itself? The fragrance is encased in a round, textured bottle, cloaked in smooth, opaque green, with a golden neck and a spherical cap embossed with a logo—like a magical potion from a lost fairytale.

M. Micallef Ma Nature

The first sniff takes you through a forest where light and shade dance together, weaving through the thick foliage, mossy roots, and deep shadows. There’s a subversive trace of golden honeyed sweetness that mingles with the forest’s darkness—morning air filled with the thick honey of the wild blossoms, and as evening falls, a cool, blue camphor mist in the lavender–colored dusk.

Clearing in a Forest, painting by Narcisse Virgile Diaz de la Peña (1874)

It’s here that the IELE come to mind—mystical beings from Eastern European folklore, a fusion of Greek dryads and Western fae, moving swiftly through the imaginary forest invoked by this perfume. If these elusive creatures had a scent, it would surely be the intoxicating, earthy yet otherworldly aroma of patchouli. At the heart of this fragrance lies a sweet and spicy warmth, where cinnamon adds a bite, and patchouli unveils lush, green facets that melt into the creamy softness of sandalwood. In the air, the scent dances—free, weightless, and ethereal—yet as you draw your hand closer to your nose, it intensifies, heating up like a whirlwind of leaves caught in a gust, forming a deep green, swirling portal.

In Romanian tales, “ielele” dance in perfect circles, leaving behind either burned grass or vegetation so lush and green, that’s dangerous to all living creatures and the place would remain untouchable, swirling with energy, until nature slowly healed itself. Seen from afar, their dance would conjure vortices that appeared as glowing circles of light, said to shimmer like fire. Going further into the base notes, the heat intensifies into flames, with toasted gourmand tonka, seductive vanilla, and the rounded warmth of amber and musk, wrapping the fragrance in velvety deep embers with glowing fiery edges.

Nymphs Dancing to Pan’s Flute by Joseph Tomanek (1920)

Deep and mysterious, the composition is grounded by the vertical force of patchouli, anchoring it like a verdant axis through which amber sap and wild honey flow. Its lush foliage stretches both above and below, weaving the elements together in a perfectly round autumnal experience. M.Micallef Ma Nature is both a comforting and empowering experience—a scent I’ll reach for during my October rustic nature walks when I seek a moment of reverie while stepping on golden leaves, or as a refreshing pick-me-up amidst the happy chaos of my pre-Halloween preparation days. It offers a warmth that transforms patchouli leaves into the crisp crunch of autumn underfoot, before melting them in the sweetness of wild honey.

M. Micallef’s Ma Nature is a grounding yet revitalizing embrace, with a dark-sweet charm that carries a sense of comforting eeriness—like a Tim Burton film set in an oversaturated sepia dream.

Top: Lavender, Honey and Patchouli, Middle: Cinnamon, Patchouli, Sandalwood and Cashmeran, Base notes: Tonka Bean, Vanilla and Musk

An M.Micallef release should always be a reason to celebrate as they continue to push the boundaries on what perfumery can achieve. Always thinking outside the box and with perfectly timed releases, it’s become one of my favorite niche houses. Ma Nature is the perfect marriage between patchouli and an ambery/vanilic dry down perfect for autumn. The patchouli here is the green/leaf-like as patchouli can take on many facets and smells, but with all the sweetness in the background, going green was the right call. Lavender and sandalwood play more of a supporting role (lavender is very popular right now) and the overall result is an autumnal, honeyed, warm affair that will have you feeling all the fall vibes. My favorite M.Micallef is Note Vanillèe. I’m located in the USA.

  • I really like how Nicoleta depicts this perfume as both a comforting and empowering experience, offering a warmth that transforms patchouli leaves into the crisp crunch of autumn underfoot, before melting them in the sweetness of wild honey. So delicious!
My favorite from M.Micallef is Mon Parfum Cristal.
    I’m from Croatia, EU.

  • I have never tried an M.Micallef scent, so this would be interesting. I found it intriguing how Nicoleta depicted the scent as earthy and sweet at the same time, which is a profile that is unknown to me. This makes me even more intrigued in the scent profile. A green-honey scent? who would have thought!

It is with great pleasure to rediscover here the myth of iele, which often populated the stories of my childhood.

I’m not familiar with M.Micallef perfumes, what a great introduction! “A dark-sweet charm” says Nicoleta. Autumn is really the perfect season for patchouli and honey dancing like the wild iele on the skin.

Thank you for the chance of owning such a beautiful bottle of dark-sweet charm. I live in Portugal/EU

Ma Nature sounds heavenly! I love the combination of earthy and sweet with the cinnamon. It sounds like the perfect fall fragrance! My favorite fragrance so far from M. Micallef is Ylang in Gold. -New York, NY

  • What an enchanting review of M.Micallef’s Ma Nature by Nicoleta! The imagery of wandering through a forest filled with earthy patchouli, honeyed sweetness, and warm cinnamon truly captivates the senses. I love how the fragrance evokes such a vivid connection to nature, making it sound perfect for those introspective autumn walks. The combination of patchouli with creamy sandalwood and the warmth of tonka bean and vanilla suggests a scent that is both grounding and comforting, perfect for the October vibe.

As for my favorite M.Micallef perfume, Ylang in Gold has always held a special place in my heart. Its exotic floral notes combined with the rich warmth really resonate with me.

  • The fragrance combines a rich blend of notes including Cashmeran, woody notes, musk, sandalwood, amber, cinnamon, patchouli, tonka bean, vanilla, honey, and lavender. This complex mix promises a multifaceted olfactory experience. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU. I don’t really have a favourite from M.Micallef I love the concept of their works though.

  • Wonderful Fragrance house. So many gems plus the beautiful bottles. This new release has my interest. The green bottle and patchouli note. Wonderful review Nicoleta sounds perfect for autumn. Thank you for this chance USA

  • My interest was sparked when reading, “it aims to give the wearer a sense of fierce self-confidence”. I don’t have a favourite from M. Micallef. US

  • I really appreciate the background about Martine and Geoffrey, particularly their passion and their vision for the brand. It is really evident in their fragrances. As someone who is relatively new to niche fragrances, I must rely on the reviews of others for their description. I appreciate Nicoleta’s descriptive review to visualize the fragrance. I have only recently sampled M. Micallef Ylang in Gold and O Feminin. I love them both for their different characteristics, but there is a distinctive but subtle similarity in both fragrances. But I look forward to discovering others. I would love to participate in this giveaway. I live in Nevada, USA.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

All I know is the Nicoleta, has mentioned patchouli several times within this review. I am a patchouli fanatic. This is definitely a M.Micallef creation that I MUST try. Nicoleta, thank you for the introduction to this work of art.

  • I only have Gaiac and Patchouli from this house but have always heard such great things about their Ylang in Gold and some others. I love the idea of lavender, cinnamon and sandalwood along with the patchouli heart of this. And myrrh, tonka warming it up further. It sounds amazing! I agree with their gorgeous bottle design. Thank you for the giveaway. I am in California.

  • M. Micallef has put out some quality frags in recent years, but this one sounds especially nice. I love a good patchouli, and the combination of it with so many verdant and herbal tones has my hairs on end. My current favorite from the house is GNTONIC, which is bright and effervescent. This appears to be on the opposite end of the spectrum, and I am most curious to experience what it has to offer. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • I love M. Micallef as well and had the pleasure of trying a few of their stunning fragrances over the summer. Reading about Ma Nature resonated deeply with me, especially its focus on the rich Grasse terroir and the artistic approach to perfumery. The use of patchouli and honey evokes a mysterious yet grounding presence, much like some of my other favorites from the brand. This review perfectly captures the house’s unique ability to blend art, nature, and craftsmanship into a sensory masterpiece!

  • As fall bursts all around, this review was right on point: it put me in the mood, the colors, the feel of autumn! I’m normally resistant to patchouli, unless it’s blended well but this sounds like ti’s blended beautifully and the lyrical mythical elements drawn in by the review fit it perfectly! My favorite Micallef is probably Gaiac, but there are so many lovely fragrances by this brand. I live in the US.

  • I liked that Ma Nature is earthy and fiery with its patchouli and cinnamon notes. The lavender and honey notes add an interesting twist. My favorite from M Micallef is Sensual. Michigan USA

  • Eris.can.swatch.kaos says:

Oh my, this perfume is mine! Or at least, I wish it to be. As someone who appreciates patchouli, especially done in the way this note breakdown describes, I know that I will love this fragrance. Thanks to the reviewer, I can envision the inlele dancing in the forest, creating light and magic where there was simply nature. Wearing this scent, I will be able to recall this vision, and am thankful for it. I don’t yet have a favorite, but I have been appreciating the craft from a distance. I live in Oregon.

  • Thank you for the chance to win a 100 ml bottle of this exceptional perfume. Nicoleta’s review beautifully describes the enchanting blend of honey and earthy notes in Ma Nature. It promises a fragrance experience that is both elegant and grounded, evoking a sense of tranquility and sophistication.

I’m always on the lookout for fragrances that resonate with both my environment and personality.
The harmonious combination of delicate florals and subtle earthy undertones in Ma Nature seems to be the perfect match.
The way Nicoleta highlights the fragrance’s ability to transport the wearer to a serene, natural setting is particularly intriguing.

As for my favorite M. Micallef perfume, it has to be Patchouli, this scent masterfully balances warm spices and vanilla, creating an aura of timeless elegance.
The rich, layered notes unfold beautifully throughout the day, leaving a lasting impression that is both memorable and refined.

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this generous giveaway. I eagerly look forward to potentially adding the enchanting Ma Nature to my collection.

Wow! A Pachouli forward fragrance. I don’t have any in my collection but this one sounds great with other notes of honey, cinnamon & vanilla.

I like how Nicoletta said that “Ma Nature is a scent focused on the free-thinking attitude, created for those who dare to be different, and it aims to give the wearer a sense of fierce self-confidence.”

I don’t own any M. Micallef but I did enjoy GN Tonic when I smelled it at the fragrance store here in LA.

  • Patricia R. says:

The bottle really looks like drawn in one of my old fairy-tale books from my childhood. Most tales are strongly connected with natural beings, or acts of nature. I am very intrigued. I live in the EU.

  • Note Vanillée has been my classic vanilla of choice for some time now, so I couldn’t be more excited for M. Micallef’s new release. Being from Spain, ‘Ma Nature’ resonates deeply with me, as its focus on nature and tranquility reminds me of childhood times in Mediterranean forests. Some of my favorite perfumes are honeyed and spiced, and ‘Ma Nature’s combination of these aspects with musk and patchouli sounds heavenly, like a sunset seen from within the woods. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this draw!

  • Everything which aims to capture the feel of the outdoors appeals to me. I have been long looking for a fragrance which would remind me of walking on humid, cold, rotting leaves, “crisp crunch of autumn underfoot” sounds like it might fit the bill. Will definitely hunt down a sample if nothing more.

    I live in the EU.

  • M Micallef has the most beautiful bottles and gorgeous perfumes. I own notes Vanillee and Ananda. I would love to add Ma Nature to my collection.

I love Micallef fragrances but this new release left me speechless. Overall a gorgeous review of the Ma Nature but what really triggered me was this sentence: The first sniff takes you through a forest where light and shade dance together, weaving through the thick foliage, mossy roots, and deep shadows.
Sounds a very dark, damp, rich earthy scent with the sweetness and creaminess from cinnamon, honey and sandalwood to bring light and warmth into it. Excellent approach to capsule the beauty of mother nature into a creation that inspire us to appreciate and embrace the wild yet harmony nature. A very empowering composition that I would love to experience on these autumn days!
As for my favorite M.Micallef perfume…I think it would be Ylang in Gold.
Thank you for this wonderful giveaway. I live in Germany.

  • Beautiful description and review of what the scent evokes. Sounds like a wonderful balance between the natural scents of the forest along with the comforting feeling of running around between the trees. The bottle design is beautiful and truly does feel like the magic potion Nicoleta describes!

  • I’ve yet to try a M.Micallef perfume, but I am a big honey fan. The last line comparing the fragrance to a sepia-toned Tim Burton film paints a great picture! I love the folklore description and visuals. USA.

  • Thank you Nicoleta for the engaging review. Your description of the dance o the Ielele is quite catchy and somehow got me into The Silmarillion mode and the breaking of the first silence and now I need to try out Ma Nature 🙂 I’ve had Ylang in Gold on my list for a while now. Greetings from TX USA

  • goknitintheocean says:

    Hi there,

This fragrance looks like it would be a wonderful intro to a new Patchouli variation, for me. The review describes “comforting eeriness”, which I am all about, this time of year, when the sweaters come out of the cedar chest and the crunchy leaves stick to the bottom of my ankle boots! Wow. The bottle design on this is so enticing. Thank you for this review; I don’t have a favorite M. Micallef, as of yet. I live in NYC/USA.

    Cheers,
    Deborah

  • I absolutely love how Nicoleta’s review captures the mystical, earthy essence of Ma Nature! The description of the patchouli blending with honey and cinnamon sounds mesmerizing, especially with that added sense of warmth and depth from the sandalwood and amber. It seems like the perfect scent for autumn walks in nature. My favorite from the house of M.Micallef has to be DesirToxic—it’s such a captivating fragrance with its own alluring intensity. I’m based in Greece, EU, and would love to experience Ma Nature!

  • That bottle is an absolute stunner – truth to be told, I’d use it even if it’d be filled with fountain water.
I suspect Nicoleta being a sensible poetess, the review is artistry and I’ll probably save her words, that seem to me that are the very essence of Ma Nature : “It offers a warmth that transforms patchouli leaves into the crisp crunch of autumn underfoot, before melting them in the sweetness of wild honey.”
Thank you for a beautiful review and an awesome draw, from Europe.

  • I love that this is a lost potion from a fairy tale. I can totally imagine that. There’s that sandalwood note that I’m currently obsessing over, melting into the green notes. Love the imagery that the Romanian tale describes. That bottle is stunning. My favorite of the line is Gaiac (sadly discontinued). Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Patchouli as a central theme for a nature inspired scent. the earthiness and richness of the note is grounding and calming. Combined with honey and lavender in the opening leading to sweet and warm spices and the sweetness of vanilla and musk, it sounds like walking through a verdant autumnal forest. The bottle is gorgeous! Favorites M Micallef perfume is GNTONIC. MD, USA

  • I can’t even express how alllured I am by the description of the scent and then the BOTTLE ! I love patchouli and think the addition of cinnamon sounds amazing, plus all the mythological reference of ielele. I live in the US

  • Everything here is wonderful starting from the bottle (elegant and precious) and the warm scent dominated by patchouli, with a hint of honey. The call of autumn is evident, I associate it with a walk in the park wearing a wool coat, it’s so calming.
I have nothing of this brand.
    Linda (EU)

  • It has been years since I have tried a new M.Micallef, but I really like what I see here in the listed notes and I feel that Ma Nature could easily become a new favorite in my collection.
Many thanks! I am based in the EU.

This review intrigues me, and I’m a fan of another Marc Daniel Heimgartner fragrance–L’Arc Chrysalide, one of most interesting animalic frags around. I’m very curious to smell this one. I live in the US.

  • Awe, I always adore M Micallef fragrances. Grounding and yet empowering is definitely how I experience a beautiful composition with patchouli. Ma Nature would be a great addition to my M Micallef collection. To name a favorite is difficult, but lately, I have been enjoying Spiritual from The Secrets of Love Collection. I am in the US. Another great review, Nicoleta. Always a great thank you for the generous draw, M Micallef.

  • What caught my attention at the very beginning was the image of dancing nymphs around a campfire in the forest. When I read the review of the fragrance, I noticed that three groups of words were repeated there. One related to dance, movement, swirling energy. The second related to warmth, heat, fire, light, glow. Finally, the third layer emphasizing the ethereal fairy-tale eeriness – “magical potion from a lost fairytale”. A vibrating, warming scent of a magical forest. This is exactly what I am looking for in fragrances for autumn. I was also captivated by the fact that the scent is described as “grounding yet revitalizing”, “a comforting and empowering experience”. On the one hand, autumn is a time of calming down after the adventures of the summer, but also sometimes a period when we feel overwhelmed, apathetic and need an injection of luminous, vibrating energy.
My favorite M. Micallef fragrance is Desir Toxic.
    I live in the EU.

  • Honey and patchouli. This is a combo I would love to smell. I love the earthyness and patchouli and am very intrigued to see how the honey note would sweeten it up. Y lang in Gold is my favorite M Micallef fragrance.

  • David Furman says:

This is brooding and mysterious. Beginning with the presentation and the bottle itself. From the description the scent isn’t far behind. Including alot of dark elements along with freshness this concoction is sure to take you on an olfactory journey. The bottle would look like a headstone in my collection and I’d definitely be killing it with that in my arsenal. From Jacksonville, NC.

  • The M.Micallef lineup features some of the coolest packaging out there. I know it’s about the juice—not the bottle—but that image of Ma Nature immediately grabbed my attention. This deep green take on patchouli sounds wonderful; wild honey’s darkly-sweet aroma, thick moss and foliage of fantasy woods, the texture of aromatics and spice, a warming base. “M. Micallef’s Ma Nature is a grounding yet revitalizing embrace, with a dark-sweet charm that carries a sense of comforting eeriness—like a Tim Burton film set in an oversaturated sepia dream.” Sounds fantastic. I’d love to try this and get a chance to check out one of the brand’s bottles in person. I haven’t had a chance to try any of their fragrances yet.

    I’m in the USA.

  • I’ll have to start with what I already know of M.Micallef , all 3 of their fragrances I know are awesome, the 2 i already own are Note Vanillée Nectar refined high-class gourmand fragrance ,boozy , sweet and playful , and also Aoud Gourmet. The 3rd M.Micallef I know is GNTONIC, the “Summer is finally here” fragrance
If I have to summarize the amount of pleasing information from Martine Micallef, Geoffrey Nejman and Nicoleta Tomsa about Ma Nature I’d say that the fragrance is artistic and quite complex, something I really like. The green forest-honey , patchouli -cinnamon combo , the longevity , nice presentation and Nicoleta Romanian “ielele” tales impressions of the fragrance are making me believe Ma Nature is suited for both formal and also little black dress, high heels occasions.
Note Vanillée Nectar is my favorite M.Micallef
    Thanks for the draw

  • I read the whole press release , and my favorite part is

With the new release, M.Micallef Ma Nature, we are invited to explore a new emotion and to unveil our true nature. Ma Nature is a scent focused on the free-thinking attitude, created for those who dare to be different, and it aims to give the wearer a sense of fierce self-confidence

I guess Martine Micallef and her husband Geoffrey Nejman saw the magnitude of niche perfumery long time ago , and patchouli as ingredient before it became trendy , relying on creativity and always using the best ingredients. Free-thinking attitude is all over the place.
Like everything in real life some components of Ma Nature are gentle others relatively ruff , exquisite patchouli , balanced sweetness and spices I’m looking for the most.
I happen to own Royal Mango , Vanille Orient and Gourmet. I do believe the first two are now discontinued , or maybe vaulted.

M.Micallef Ma Nature duality is so well-bred, thanks to the Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman collaboration with Marc Daniel Heimgartner and of course Nicoleta Tomsa story I feel enclosed with lush green forest, wild honey, patchouli , dancing “ielele” and desire simultaneously.
I’m ready for the Tim Burton film set type of fragrance, I’m ready for Ma Nature
    Thanks a million

  • It’s fascinating how quite a lot of Nicoleta’s fairytale like read is falling in line with what Olya said about the industry in her overview of 2023 sharing her Best , perfumes are now more powerful yet artistic , more brands are making more nostalgic and classy fragrances. Ma Nature feels both powerful, artistic, nostalgic and classy at the same time.
As for M.Micallef my husband , and I share DESIRTOXIC and I’m very much intrigued by Ma Nature even though it’s the two are different.
Can’t go wrong with honey and patchouli, spices, tonka and pinch of vanilla , yes the fragrance is definitely different in a mysterious way. The deep green bottle is gorgeous too

I wanted Nicoleta Tomsa article to continue, love everything I read, from Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman embracing the idea of perfume as an art ,to the rich Romanian tales connection with “ielele” dancing in perfect circles and the awesome presentation.

  • The Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman family are so opportunistic , i’m glad they didn’t miss the opportuunity to create the house of M. Micallef.
I can see why Nicoleta Tomsa believes Ma Nature is like a perfectly round autumnal experience, pointing out its level of complexity. Noble fragrance and unique olfactory experience I’m sure.
I find impressive how Marc Daniel Heimgarther was able to merge elegance and artistry with notes like honey and patchouli, cinnamon and vanilla.

  • Hello
Captivating introduction, no mistake . I like all the details Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman shared , how the brand was created, the different collections and their overall free-thinking attitude Nicoleta Tomsa also shares.
Ma Nature is strong, woody and foresty spicy , with seductive tonka and vanilla base , and appropriate for all who are looking for a perfect round Fall experience. Delightful fragrance I believe.
I’m exposed to niche perfumery, and sure I’m aware of a few M.Micallef fragrances , even own one called Ananda Tchai.
    Thank you very much EU

  • No wonder Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman are so successful and have such a loyal following, their passion for creativity is rooted in their bond and respect for traditional French craftsmanship.
I like how Nicoleta revealed the different aspects of Ma Nature, sophisticated fragrance i had the pleasure of smelling thanks to a friend who came from one of the latest fragrance exhibitions.
I agree with Nicoleta about the idea of ielele dancing, thick forest, raw honey , sandalwood and ambery base . What I also get on top of that is quite a lot of tobacco and incense in the background. Ma Nature dark-sweet charm is indeed so special.
I’m familiar with not all , but most M. Micallef fragrances , and if I have to rate my favorite ones:
    1. Delice
    2. Aoud Gourmet/Vanille Aoud
    3. Avant-Garde/ EDENFALLS

M.Micallef Ma Nature was created with the intention of making the wearer feel special. It is powerful and novelty fragrance, with dark , earthy and sweet layers ,i don’t think I’ve smelled anything like that before. GNTONIC is the only M.Micallef I’ve smelled, Summer gem in my opinion.

Thanks to Nicoleta Tomsa, the host today, and all the lovely information about Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman i not only learned how the perfume smells, but was able to make a distinction between the designer fragrances I’m used to , and the world of niche i still know little about.
What attracts me in Ma Nature is the abundance of different notes , the green start with patchouli , raw honey and vanilla and how much it changes , Nicoleta Tomsa said at certain times it’s earthy, sweet, spicy and woody.

Awesome work by Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman passionate duo , the perfumer Marc Daniel Heimgarther and Nicoleta Tomsa for grabbing my attention.
Vanillée Nectar is in my collection , refined and elegant woody and spicy-boozy gourmand , another compliment getter from M.Micallef

“Throughout the years, M.Micallef has built a loyal following, and it’s an inspirational success story, now reaching over 75 countries and 900 high-end retailers (including Jovoy), and their own luxurious flagship boutiques”

I can say, with confidence that M.Micallef is a brand every fragrance lover needs to know, exquisite and alluring creations made by free thinkers with quality ingredients , long lasting on top of that.I no longer live in Paris , still visit once a month and Jovoy is the place where you can find them, including Ma Nature. I have already smelled the fragrance there , and Ms Tomsa other then reviewing the scent also mentioned something quite important – Ma Nature is very deep , mysterious and I think for people with acquired taste.
Patchouli and honey are of of my favorite notes , so Ma Nature checks all the boxes. I’ll have to say I’m also surprised Ms Tomsa is not smelling the tobacco, because I can smell it just by opening the cap , on blotter and on my skin when I tried it at Jovoy Paris.
The luxurious spicy richness , tobacco and the patchouli and honey drydown are the most attractive parts of the fragrance, together with the beautiful bottle.
    Gourmet is my N1

  • Such a soothing high class review !
No one would say no to Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman bespoke creations, blended with exquisite ingredients. Reading Nicoleta Tomsa article makes me want to try not just Ma Nature and Secrets of Love line , but way more of M.Micallef offerings .
I do own Aoud Gourmet, my favorite M.Micallef however Ma Nature is a completely different fragrance, so daring and enigmatic.
I’m interested in the rich patchouli depth , the raw honey and bold properties. With or without the edgy parts , the extra flavor of sandalwood and seductive vanilla i find enthralling.
Thanks to Michelyn Camen and Redolessence collaboration a few months ago i also sampled and ordered DESIRTOXIC L’INTENSE, and with Ma Nature I anticipate another exceptional encounter
    Thank you kindly, from EU

I love the lore surrounding this exquisite sounding , aromatic perfume.
It sounds golden and sweet with its honey and Tonka and I am so into an earthen fae or passionate Pan style inspired fragrance. I have really wanted to try Ylang in Gold from the brand since I love ylang so much!

  • Hope you don’t mind mentioning him so often, but like many , and I really mean many other brands I also discovered M.Micallef while watching Redolessence videos. He spoke of DESIRTOXIC ~ 3 years ago , and after sampling I just had to buy full bottle.
Thanks to Nicoleta Tomsa this time , with the help of Martine Micallef and Geoffrey themselves i started thinking all kinds of beautiful and mysterious moments I’d like to experience in the Fall.
Distinct experience if I have to guess .The raw honey is a good way do make already patchouli fragrance even better, cinnamon vanilla and tonka are kicking in so well in the drydown. I also welcome the mysterious side of Ma Nature
    Thank you, and fingers crossed

  • I love how the things worked out for Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman, from beauty salons owner and a banker, and lab financial manager and painter to successful niche brand owners , I’m glad they took their chances
I’ve heard M.Micallef praised by many people online, but I know just two fragrances GNTONIC refreshing and invigorating vacation time fragrance and the super delicious Note Vanillée Nectar.
I like M.Micallef approach beautiful bottles , longevity, quality of the fragrances and innovativeness .
Ma Nature is attractive because how complex it is , with amber and honey , earthy patchouli essence , and classy approach , one epic journey I’d like to experience myself
    Thanks a bunch

  • Thinking outside of the box is so typical for Nicoleta Tomsa, the same goes for Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman . That’s why I believe Ma Nature worked so well for Nicoleta, mysterious patchouli fragrance with a different olfactive profile.
Her take on the fragrance made me think of making Vanilla Butter Cake with Cinnamon, Honey and Buttercream Frosting, and later on eating it while on a picnic in the middle of a lush green forest.
My favorite M. Micallef is Note Vanillée Nectar to me smells like Caramel Pecan Cake , with Rum buttercream , Rum soaked fruits , and Caramel filling with Hennessy buttercream frosting , Pastry Chef in the house. My girlfriend also owns Mon Parfum Cristal , not sure why it’s marketed for women only , to me it’s unisex suited for all gourmand lovers.
Appreciate the Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman introduction, Nicoleta Tomsa review and the giveaway campaign

  • Personally I’m looking for not just quality fragrances, but quality fragrances that do perform, I need to be able to catch whiffs of the fragrance I’m wearing for at least a few hours , and I believe M.Micallef Ma Nature is right up my alley. Of course I enjoyed Nicoleta’s review very much, just as much as Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman background and personal experiences with the Ma Nature.

“M. Micallef’s Ma Nature is a grounding yet revitalizing embrace, with a dark-sweet charm that carries a sense of comforting eeriness—like a Tim Burton film set in an oversaturated sepia dream”

Love it and the Tim Burton connection Nicoleta made.Such a good looking bottle too , I’m a big fan of the M.Micallef designer , hell of a job once again , in my opinion some of the very best looking bottles in the industry.
I’m glad Nicoleta confirmed Ma Nature is not a hippie patchouli scent , but something completely different and really pleasing . I like the balance between the raw honey, spices, patchouli, vanilla and earthy undertones.
My favorite M.Micallef fragrance is EDENFALLS
Thank you Nicoleta Tomsa, M.Micallef , Martine Micallef , Geoffrey Nejman

  • It has been a pleasure learning about M.Micallef Ma Nature from the two owners themselves. Not a lot of people feel the need to create, and it seems like with Martine Micallef and her husband Geoffrey Nejman it comes from within. I like how the brand is implementing more classical , and artisanal approaches , instead of futuristic technology.
I’m a fan of beautiful things, non-animalic honey , cinnamon, tonka bean and patchouli, and with Ma Nature I’m envisaging excellence.
Thanks to Olya Bar GNTONIC is in my Summer rotation , so many random people asked me about what I’m wearing 🙂
    Much obliged

  • I really like what Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman said in the opening :

“Each day Grasse awakens our senses by the splendour of its terroir. In this paradise illuminated by a languid sunshine, through its fields and alleyways, the air is filled with the penetrating notes released by an army of jasmine, roses, iris, tuberose, violets, orange blossoms, citrus fruits, aromatic plants…”

I have similar approach to work and life trying to be positive and creative all the time , I love having flowers everywhere I go,and I’m having admirations for the city I’m living and working.
Nicoleta Tomsa observations on M.Micallef Ma Nature are based on Romanian folklore, nostalgia, elegance and reinterpretations of the classics.
I’m enthusiastic about the hidden depth of the fragrance , and lingering resonance of patchouli, spices, honey and vanilla sweetness , lavender and the top performance.
I’m in possession of Avant-Garde , really nice tobacco , citruses and wonderful salty-sweet contrast
Thank you Nicoleta Tomsa for your observations, and of course the generosity

What interests me about Nicoleta’s review M. Micallef Ma Nature is the green, aromatic, mysterious, and earthy nature of this brilliant creation from Parfums Micallef. I loved the in depth review from Nicoleta, describing the damp dark earthy fragrance sounds so good. I would love the opportunity to try this. My favorite Micallef Perfume is Desirtoxic. I am from the USA.

  • Ma Nature picked up my interest with the quality ingredients, longevity, raw honey and patchouli, amber in the base, classy fragrance i’d love to have. Nicoleta Tomsa made me even more enthusiastic about it with the “ielele” dancing in the circle , the deep and mysterious composition of the fragrance , and sharing more details about Geoffrey Nejman and Martine Micallef views and background.
Can’t say I’m well familiar with M.Micallef fragrances but I know Akowa is one of the most unusual fragrances in my collection. It’s from a different collection than Ma Nature, and it smells like mix of earthy vetiver, burned orange , cacao and it’s also ambery.I’ve never smelled anything similar before , and judging by all I’ve just read i believe Geoffrey Nejman and Martine Micallef are full of pleasant surprises
    Thanks to all involved
