Le Labo Lavande 31 Review (Perfumer Not Disclosed) 2023

Le Labo Lavande 31 Classic Collection

At first spray of Le Labo Lavande 31, I am moved to take a deep breath and pause in contemplation. It’s as if an amethyst-toned peace is cast through and settled. Complex tones of Bergamot and Neroli concertina through the air. Bergamot’s sparkling tang aerates like a dry inhale while Neroli’s floral and green sweetness syncopate humid exhalation. I am taken to a wild landscape of startlingly fresh air where a Roman road cuts straight and lucid. Hedges strengthen in the sun as I take a bite of juicy citrus, liquid sits loosely and ripe in its rind, blending with sweet soap and orange blossom hints in the air.

The opening lift reveals a lavender distilled of pure flower buds. Fragrant balsam warmth of honeycomb-yellow straw balances the slight cooling undertone of chamomile. A fresh, aromatic and agrestic lavender accord rises to meet us, its shoulders breaking open the cool blue of the sky. Lavender wraps the world in its purple gauze, stretching mauve, mulberry, and periwinkle, light-footed as a feather duster. Le Labo Lavande 31 has a long-lasting heart that is full and sweet without losing its fresh and aromatic complexity – quite the accomplishment.

With a nod to the house’s history and style, Lavande 31 gathers some slightly dirty and musky notes to play with the amber and tonka in the base. This classic house style produces a skin scent that is both clean and disheveled. Tonka builds on the coumarinic artery enlivening the lavender heart and adds paving stones of resinous caramel and gourmand almondy vanilla bean. Amber and Musk provide the anchor. Le Labo Lavande 31 takes us on a journey through time and materials to find ourselves.

I have never tryed anythong from this brand but I am really intrigued with their perfumes 🙂

  • Lovely review. I can’t begin to tell you how much I’ll love to experience Lavande 31. The notes are all right on my alley. And Le labo really always does it for me. Thank you Rachel for another fantastic review.

  • I just love lavender, it reminds me of the month I spent with a host family in the Loire valley one summer during highschool (and I did improve my French). And there was lavender everywhere, and I still love it today.
I will need to try to get my hands on a sample of this…Thank you for the review.
