According to the website, Kajal Lamar Caviar is the first ever ethanol-free fine fragrance to harness the innovation of Microcaps patented “perfume-pearls” technology. To introduce Steven’s video Editor-in-Chief MIchelyn Camen reached out to Roland Altenburger, the CEO Switzerland of LUZI AG for an in-depth explanation of this revolutionary technology.

“LUPEARLS™ are based on proprietary technology of Microcaps, Switzerland, our close business partner. We have worked hand in hand with Microcaps so that we both understand the technical requirements of a LUPEARLS™ juice in depth. With the luxury niche brand Kajal, we have found the perfect partner to launch the very first product based on LUPEARLS™ technology. The LUPEARLS ™ technology is not only attractive for those looking for an ethanol-free fine fragrance, it also offers other attractive benefits: compared to hydroalcoholic fine fragrances, the progression of the scent profile is smoother, more balanced… We were also able to demonstrate a positive impact to fragrance strength in the dry down. Last but not least, the LUPEARLS ™ look fantastic and offer brands completely new possibilities in terms of the design of their products.

I would Love to have a bottle of Lamar Caviar by Kayak, such a wonderful looking men’s Cologne!

  • Once again an amazing commentary I’ll Steven just explains the fragrance presentation my wife’s. Not a big fan of Rose but I am so I would love to try this out

  • Technology and innovation aren’t usually two words I would think of or use when describing or talking about perfumes, but reading Mr. Altenburer’s introduction, and watching Steven’s video, I am now starting to think about how perfume can innovate not only by discovering, introducing and presenting new scent profiles or notes, but by how the perfume itself is made and how the way it’s made can be a part of it’s presentation beyond the juice and the bottle that juice comes in.

I have never tried to original Lamar but I do know it’s one of the best sellers from the house. It’s a winter staple for sure and very vibrant so I can only imagine what this new technology will do to the smell/longevity. I can imagine Kajal now doing a few versions of their bestsellers with this new technology for the fragrance aficionados that will love to have a sort of rare/collector’s bottle. I’d love to win it so that I can experience the full power of Lamar. I’m assuming the pearls ressemble caviar and that’s where the name come from, this sounds like a home run for the house. Cheers from the USA.

  • I have Lamar, which I love. What interested me most is the fragrance preservation and dispensary tech. It reminds me of retinoid face beauty capsules combined with Nitro Brewing techniques. It would be cool if LUPEARLS could be used on older fragrances to see if it would change the olfactory experience. Here in California

What is this black magic… lol I am still not sure how the pearls really work but am interested in no alcohol fragrance. I live in the USA in PA.

  • Very interesting new technology. My attention was caught by the statement about a smoother, rounder blend and better performance in the drydown, as well as the unique look (kind of reminds me of micropearl face serums…?)
It can only be a revolutionary find, I hope to hear more about it in the future.

  • This is interesting in the development of the new technology. It’s great to see non-alcohol fragrances that are not oils. I’m curious to see how Lamar smells in this new version. As always, thank you ÇaFleureBon and Kajal for offering this giveaway. I live in the US.

  • Amazing concept for the technology! There could be so many new takes on perfume with these Lupearls! This combination of fruit, flower, and spice is intriguing, to say the least! Thanks to Steven for pointing out this interesting perfume. usa

  • I love this idea! And a clever name for this encapsulated technology to extend the power and sillage without alcohol. I have never tried Lamar, but the notes sound spectacular! Thank you, Steven for this review. I would love to try it. Thank you for this generous draw. I live in NH, USA.

  • This sounds like quite an interesting concept. Imagining little fragrant bubbles bursting with goodness. The fact that it has two rose notes is the icing on the cake. I also appreciate Steven’s description and the fact that it’s richer and longer lasting than the original. I’m in TX USA

  • This fragrance intrigues me as I already own the original Lamar and reading Roland Altenburger assessment of LuPearls and how that advancement aids in the longevity of the fragrance makes me excited even more. Steven again described the fragrance in a way that let’s me know that I definitely need this is my collection. I live in Bowling Green, KY and my instagram handle is the_scent_profile where I already follow CaFleureBon and your content.

  • I’ve wanted to try the original Lamar, but Lamar Caviar seems amazing. First, the look of the bottle is so gorgeous. Second, while I don’t quite understand this LuPearl technology, it’s claims of stronger in the drydown makes me really want to try this. Thanks for the opportunity! Ohio, USA

  • Love the original Lamar. So excited about Lamar Caviar. Love the notes. The bottle is stunning. So interesting learning about LUPEARLS/Mr Roland Altenburger. Thank you for this chance USA

  • It was interesting to read Michelyn’s blurb and the quotes from Mr. Alrenburger. I was not aware of this technology until now and am keen to see how it works. I’m most excited because they said it helps for smoother transitions and an improved dry down. Steven mentioned this being very similar to the original Lamar, which is an incredibly fresh and fruity scent with a gorgeous amber base. He also added that the longevity was improved quite a bit, and that’s something I know we would all appreciate. I’m very interested to experience this new approach in perfumery. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • Being that this is the first fragrance which is ethanol-free and incorporating patented “perfume pearls” technology is quite interesting. What caught my attention is when Mr. Altenburger described how this new technology enables the scent profile to be more smoother and balanced. Thank you. New York, USA.

  • Wow! I’m intrigued by the groundbreaking technology behind Lamar Caviar. Roland Altenburger’s insight into the technical aspects and the benefits of this innovation is very intriguing. The fragrance’s captivating blend of notes, including my favorite pineapple, Bulgarian Rose, and vanilla, along with the unique scent progression and design possibilities, would make this fragrance an exciting addition to the world of fine fragrances and my collection:)

  • As Steven was describing the scent profile of this fragrance, i got more and more invested in trying this scent out. It would be awesome if I won it.

  • mustafaenvi@gmail.com says:

Kajal Lamar is an inviting and intriguing type of a scent. I loved it since I first sniffed it, there’s a soft cardamom, sophisticated Turkish rose, and intoxicating vanilla in the dry down. It lasted the whole day when I sampled it! It’s just 12/10 fragrance.

  • Kajal emerges as the ideal collaboration, embodying luxury and innovation in this olfactory revolution.

  • What an interesting technological development! Mr. Altenburger’s overview of the development of Lupearls with their partner is intriguing, especially that it allows an ethanol-free fragrance that can remain stronger through the wearing of it. The fact that it looks amazing in the bottle is an added bonus. As for the scent, this sounds intriguing as well-anything with a well-done rose is hard for me to dislike to be honest. Thank you for introducing me to another house to explore! Cheers from Ohio, USA!

  • I would love to try this out. I just started experimenting with rose fragnances and man it grew on me. Greetings from Bulgaria!

  • It is a fascinating technology and a true game changer for those would-be perfumistas who have issues with alcohol. Thanks, Michelyn, for contacting Roland Altenburger for his in-depth explanation of this technology. The Perfumers list is also impressive.

  • Wow this is cool as heck. I just did some more research on this tech and some of the pictures of the capsules inside bottles look crazy. Almost like little marbles. I’m not sure how large the market is for ethanol free fragrances especially in the niche sector but I’m definitely interested in the supposed longer lasting performance and smoother dry down. NYC

  • I fortunately got to experience Lamar Caviar at this year’s Scent Xplore. I was WOW’ed. The burst of fragrance once it hits your skin is super refreshing and I think would add to the experience of wearing it during the summer time. I’m also interested in the fact that Mr. Altenburger notes that this formulation causes improved power in the dry down; I’m always on the hunt for fragrances with excellent performance. I live in New Haven, CT!

  • wandering_nose says:

A warmer and denser version of Lamar with increased longevity – yes please! Lamar Caviar sounds just amazing, from both Roland Altenburger’s intro and Steven’s review. I love unique fragrances that are playful and elegant at the same time, I find them the most enjoyable and Lamar Caviar seems to fit the bill perfectly. Plus the looks of it – I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lupearls technology was to be embraced by many companies and brands soon. The ethanol free, vegan and cruelty free features may play a part in its popularity too. Thank you for the draw. I am based in the EU

  • Oh I’m very curious about this smoother blend and longer lasting dry down. I’d love to compare it to my regular Lamar. It’s always exciting to see innovation. In California

  • I have never tried the original Lamar but the Caviar variation sounds interesting with the perfume pearls technology. Lots of fruit and indolic florals on an amber, wood and musk base sound like a classic composition utilizing this new technology. I’m in the US.

Kajal presentation is undoubtedly very unique adding this technology could only be a plus for the overall quality of this fragrance house. Thank you again for another wonderful review, commenting from Orlando, Fl. USA

It is always a pleasure to have the opportunity of reading a introduction written by The own perfumers of the fragrance and see what they really want to express when they designed the perfume. I really would like to experience the effect of these perfume caps in my skin and look how they behave during the drydown as Mr. Altenburger explains.
In the other hand the Stevens review IS JUST great!

  • I am extremely interested in how this LUPEARLS technology will affect the dry down as Steven and Mr. Altenburger noted. I have never tried a perfume by the brand before and would love the opportunity. I live in the US.

  • I don’t see LUPEARLS ™ taking the industry by storm, but reading Altenburger’s comments, I can see the appeal of a development that is ethanol-free and increases dry down strength while adding a bit of whimsical charm to the presentation. You’ll certainly notice Kajal Lamar Caviar on the shelf. I haven’t smelled Lamar, but this Caviar version sounds like a comforting wear, with its zesty opening, natural floral heart, and warm vanilla dry down. And interesting to hear that this Caviar version of the fragrance has significantly improved longevity. Cool display of a new technology, though like Steven said, tough one to decant!

    I’m in the USA.

  • Never tried anything from Kajal, but Caviar sounds really interesting and I think it is something I would enjoy. Rose, jasmine, vanilla and amber do make up for a fun combination. Thank you!

  • Very keen to find out more about the LUPEARLS™ technology, will read up on it more. A scent profile that is smoother and more balanced? Sounds like a dream. 😉 More power in the drydown is also always welcome. Thank you for the introduction and opportunity.
My best wishes from Paris, France.

  • Pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to surprise anyone on a blog made for fragrance experts and enthusiasts , but I own 2 Kajal fragrances already Lamar and Almaz.
Unfortunately the local Kajal official distributor where I bought Lamar and Almaz do not have te new Kajal III , IV and Lamar Caviar yet , I called them a couple of times aready to ask.
I love the idea of focusing on LUPEARLS ethanol free proprietary technology , making te fragrance smoother, longer lasting and not changing the Lamar profile too much.
Thanks to Redolessence , and Michelyn Camen reaching out to Roland Althenburget i feel like Lamar Caviar is not just longer lasting Lamar , but it’s denser ambery rose and pineapple fragrance , and the perl consistency is so innovative.
    Thank you, and fingers crossed

    1. The insightful introduction from Roland Althenburget , and very much the extra information about LUPEARLS
    2. Redolessence captivating review
    3. Lamar Caviar similarities to the original Lamar
    4. Mark Buxton is again who made Lamar Caviar, like he made Lamar
    5. Pineapple, rose and vanilla magical combination
    6. My previous experience with Kajal, delighted owner of Lamar + Almaz.
    Thank you so much

  • Such a vibrant and juicy review ! Redolessence took me to a Summer trip to Mediterranean seacoast, white linen dresses, slippers, maybe a few cocktails, tranquil experience made out of pineapple, vanilla, variety of roses , and sense of refinery.
I do have a favorite Kajal fragrance, I wear Lamar all year long , and I’m intrigued by Lamar Caviar because of the new modern ethanol-free patented “perfume pearls” technology from LUZI AG

The LUPEARLS technology sounds like an amazing innovation in perfumery. How interesting that it can make fragrance notes smoother and more balanced. I enjoyed Steven’s presentation, showing us the beautiful beads in the bottle. Lamar Caviar sounds very zesty with the pineapple note. I also like that there are two kinds of rose notes. Marc Buxton creates magnificent fragrances, so I know this will be a masterpiece.
    I live in the USA.

  • The first Kajal Homme (I) is one of my go-to fragrances I wear on almost all occasions, 3 bottles i bought in US , and recently my fourth from Ausliebezumduft , one of premier German niche boutiques. It’s one of my staples, and I know I’ll buy 5th too. I was not aware of Lamar Caviar , just checked and Ausliebezumduft have not stocked it for now.
I know a few other Kajal fragrances, but not the the brand’s two new editions. It seems to me Lamar Caviar is high end , refined fragrance with some juicy pineapple, sensual rose and like Redolessence also said resinous ambery charm.
The good thing is that Lamar Caviar changes quite a bit, something I nourish , Redolessence is impressed too , always a good sign. I believe Mark Buxton made a great one.
In Roland Althenburget introduction i like the revolutionary LUPEARLS tm technology allowing the fragrance to be more balanced, and making it stronger.
As usual Kajal heavy metal caps, and the whole presentation is top notch
    Thanks to all involved

Especially enjoyed news about new technology -LUPEARLS !
Steven’s introducing is very interesting as always !
Would like to test this perfume.

  • What Roland Althenburget, the CEO of LUZI AG said about all the attractive benefits of the advanced Luperls technology I can emphasize to , greater balance, strength and fantastic look . Lamar Caviar a charismatic fragrance could easily lift my spirits up. I like the floral rose market sentiment, with pineapple, spices and vanilla
My favorite Kajal perfume is Homme II.
Thank you Redolessence for the review, Roland Althenburget and Michelyn Camen for the explanation of Luperls technology, and of course for the generosity

I’m reading up on this new technology and it is quite fascinating. I wonder if has borrowed from the technique in gastronomy. It’s really quite interesting. One question is if the atmoizer gums up over time?

I do wish that Steven had compared both versions in his video. However it is interesting ot note that slightly different facets are emphasized.

Would love to try this version.

    Salutations
I strongly believe it’s not just my impressions ,but most people associate Kajal Perfumes with Lamar, the best pineapple fragrance I’ve ever smelled.
Lamar Caviar is tempting for the a) pineapple b) amber base c) freshness or roses d) performance e) visionary ethanol free proprietary technology called LUPEARLStm
It’s always nice when there’s such modern new products coming out to have some explanation coming from the source, Roland Althenburger thoughts are appreciated very much.
    It’s been a pleasure

  • I do believe Danu Seith-Fyr do have a soft spot for Kajal Perfumes because she spoke of Kajal IV in her best of last year, her Canne report i just read , I was not a subscriber back then.
Other than the the ultra-modern LUPEARLS technology, and how it differs from the alcohol based fragrances, I also enjoyed learning about Redolessence Impressions of Lamar Caviar, and I’ll try to express my opinion on the topic.
It’s hard to find sweet fruity-floral fragrance with power and endurance that’s not synthetic, I’m glad Lamar Caviar is one of such rare exceptions. It’s not just smelling natural, but it’s even smoother!
The rose+pineapple+LUPEARLS combination is something I’m enthusiastic about , and caviar look makes the whole story complete. I own Dahab

  • If connoisseur like Redolessence is found of Lamar Caviar in such a way i know the fragrance is really good, and not just good but also long lasting , something confirmed by Roland Althenburger . His detailed info of LUPEARLS technology showed its the most important benefits in terms of balance and strength in the drydown.
Personally I’m interested Lamar Caviar due to its fruity and floral essence, woody components and as a whole uplifting blend. The easy to love warmth and better performance I’ll gladly embrace myself.
Lamar is outstanding , Lamar Caviar is just as good if not better

  • Howgy everyone, my first Cafleurebon post
I wonder if all other Kajal fragrances are getting Caviar Lupepearls technology variants, or it’s just Lamar? It was a great idea to approach Roland Althenburger to explain to all non chemists about Lupepearls technology , and why it makes fragrances superior.
Mark Buxton made my favorite LeLabo Vetiver 46 and Comme Des Garcons 2 Man I’m sure he did great again with Kajal Perfumes Lamar Caviar – basket of juicy fruits, rose , uniqueness, and positive affects.
    Thanks, UK

  • Big time YES to upscale niche perfumery, daring approaches and aesthetics , Lamar Caviar is a fragrance I’ll gladly wear. I never had a chance to smell ethanol free fragrance before, LUZI AG LUPEARLS sounds groundbreaking to me, and it’s also cruelty free.
Kajal is one of my favorite brands, indicate fragrances with unique genetic core , long lasting and with one of a kind bottles. Based on Redolessence view Lamar Caviar impresses me with the sense of vibrant energy, freshness, fruits , vanilla and pearl residue
Original Lamar i own , my favorite

  • Technologies are evolving in such a rapid way, who knows what the future holds? At the moment it seems like LUZI AG and Microcaps Switzerland are leading the way with cutting edge LUPEPEARLS , maybe in 10 years physical bottles won’t exist, and we’ll be able to order our fragrances through and delivered to our cellphones. Maybe in 10 years Roland Althenburger will have to explain the LUPEPEARLS 10 wow
I’m glad even though technology is modern , the smell of Lamar Caviar is more classy with rose , amber and pineapple – two ideal attributes of one idea.
Thanks a million , from UK
