Juliette Has A Gun Vanilla Vibes Review (Romano Ricci)+ Desert Trip Draw

Perfumer Romano Ricci (bottom left), model, and photos courtesy of Juliette Has A Gun, collage by Michelyn

Juliette Has A Gun Vanilla Vibes is the newest perfume by Romano Ricci. This is the first time M. Ricci has worked with vanilla as a linchpin ingredient and he needed to find a twist as he’s not a fan of sweet notes.  For Juliette Has A Gun Vanilla Vibes he chose to balance what could be cloying with sea salt.  He sets the stage somewhere  under desert skies and his Juliette could be at Burning Man (so could he). Vanilla Vibes takes you on an olfactive (and visual- that multi-hued bottle!) trip. Not plain ol vanilla here, there’s a mineralic quality that adds something very different to Juliette Has A Gun Vanilla Vibes that  distinguishes it from  all his other fragrances.

The chef prepares a special menu for your delight, oh my.

  • Vanilla Vibes sounds like a summer evening dining al fresco! The bottle is pretty as well. 🙂 I like that Sebastian described it as an amber fresh fragrance. That gives me a clearer idea of what to expect from it. Thanks for the giveaway! In the USA.

  • wildevoodoo says:

Sebastian’s review seems to do a great job of summing up JHAG’s overall vibe (no pun intended, lol!). I’ve been looking forward to trying Vanilla Vibes since I first heard about it. Hearing Sebastian confirm that the vanilla and fleur de sel are both dominant but well balanced and that the result is perfect for a beachy summer scent is great to hear, since I LOVE salty fragrances and need one for summer! Michelyn, I loved reading your interview with Romano Ricci too, he seems like such a fascinating character. I would be absolutely thrilled to win a bottle! I am in the US 🙂

  • Great looking bottle, great review from Sebastian as always, and great giveaway 🙂 Had the chance to smell this on a local perfumery and loved it. Thanks for the chance.

  • I watch Sabastian daily. My most trusted reviewer. I watched only one other reviewer who had a different opinion on Vanilla Vibes from Juliet has a Gun. I waited until Sabastian’s review to make a decision. I love that Sabastian connects smell and taste as connected. It’s a full sense experience. Sandalwood, vanilla, orchid and Tonka sound delicious. The imagery of the sea speaks to me due to the fact that I live in Florida by the gulf! Perfect.

  • Jeremy Francis says:

I loved the allure of the sunlotion-type smell. (I’m a sucker for those kinds of smells LOL) Couple that with the note of vanilla and I’m all in. I’m intrigued.

  • Wow! I’m very intrigued by this fragrance I was searching for the best beach fragrance in last few weeks ! I’m really interested so smell this fragrance!
    P.s
    I love reviews by Sebastian!

  • I have already watched 2 reviews of this perfume and they just make me more interested in it. What I really enjoyed about Sebastian’s YT review of this fragrance is the way and knowledge on how he describes Vanilla Vibes, the details of the actual smell 🙂 Love this giveway, thanks!!!!!

  • I enjoyed the descriptive nature of the review by Sabastian. The salt and vanilla combo sounds very unique. Would like to give this one a try. Cheers from the USA!

  • Seb’s vlog has certainly perked my senses for JHAG’s Vanilla Vibes. I will defiantly going to be looking for a way to purchase a bottle.

  • Mary Shean says:

Sebastian’s does a great review on Juliette has a gun- Vanilla Vibes. Transport to the beach. Yes the sea, sand, salt water smell in the air. Plus Vanilla. I’m ready for Summer with this Creation. Thank you for the video and the draw. USA

  • Marius Johnson says:

I Really love these types of Fragrances with the tropical vibes of sea salt & coconut…and with Vanilla as the main player added in this Fragrance☀️

  • Great review as usual, I enjoy your reviews because you have a way breaking down a fragrance so a layperson can understand the different notes without smelling the fragrance and thats a gift!!
I am Jamaican and It’s very hard to describe various scents to individuals from different culturesI and you do a fantastic job of this.
    Thanks for your reviews!!

  • NiceVULady says:

Love Sebastian’s review and the bottle seems to echo the beach theme perfectly. This sounds like a such a great vanilla fragrance with echos of amber as well. Thank you for a great draw. Would love to win. I’m in the USA.

  • Rolann Nadeau says:

I would LOVE to win this bottle of parfume. As Sebastian indicated, “there are many vanilla scents out there but this one is different”… and I’m also a vanilla lover. Would love to experience the “salt” scent/flavor that he described. This is such an interesting combination. Thank you for your consideration.

  • fazalcheema says:

Vanilla Vibes is a vanilla fragrance for the beach as it has suntan vibe. Sebastian also mentions it has acquatic vibe. I am in US

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews because they are spot on! I can not imagine the combination of salt and vanilla, but it must be delicious and unique. I would love to try it!

  • Jennifer Gordon says:

What I really enjoyed about Sebastian’s review was him explaining how he experienced the saltiness of the fragrance. Someone had apparently told him that we can’t smell salt in fragrances and he explained that it was more of an experience; just as when we taste our food. I really loved that he brought that up because certain notes can almost be tasted which is quite interesting! Another thing I really liked about his review is how he described the way this fragrance is meant to make us feel. He described it as if we had put on suntan lotion, jumped into the sea and then came out to lay in the sun; that’s what this perfume smells like! I love it! I haven’t tested this fragrance yet, but vanilla is my favorite note and I love saltines in fragrances, so I think it’s right up my alley!

  • 77Musicnut says:

Sebastion’s review definitely has me interested in smelling this fragrance. The idea of adding vanilla to a beachy scent really intrigues me. I imagine the two would mesh well! The bottle really seems to capture the feel of what the scent should be. Thank you for opportunity in the giveaway. I am in the USA

  • drewactor says:

Great review and my wife and I just tried this other day and it is a great salty vanilla fragrance. Glad to see that Sebastian picked up on the sea salt being very prominent which seems to enhance the vanilla in the scent. Thanks for the giveaway. In the USA.

  • As always, Sebastián nails the motes on the head and his descriptions help out when you don’t want to spray on 10 different fragrances to try. I enjoyed JHAG not a perfume so much and I’m sure this will be a favorite as I’m attracted to vanilla. USA tx

  • Doc2SmellG8 says:

I like how Sebastian explained how smell and taste overlap when experiencing something with either sense. Another great review. California, USA

  • Sebastian mentioned that Vanilla Vibes has sandalwood in it. I’m curious about how it plays with the salt note. Thanks for the opportunity to sniff! USA

  • Marvalicious says:

I liked his review and would enjoy trying this myself if I win. I live in Indiana USA.

  • Mark lieback says:

I love how Sebastian stated it smells like sun tanned skin and the beach.. it just sounds like it reminds me of some of the best times of my life. I would love this fragrance !!

  • elizabethhouser says:

When Sabastian describes the scent as how your skin smells after a day at the beach, the salt from the ocean and the sun and the tanning lotion. Ahhhhhhh, yes! I immediately new that smell. I love that smell! And yes, I agree that you can smell salt, or at least the salt from the ocean. We’ve had a cold, rainy spring here in NY and I am yearning for this smell, feeling. Can’t wait for beach weather!
    Cheers

  • kweaver12 says:

I liked his description of the aim of the perfume to smell like wet skin with sun block. That image made me want to smell the perfume,

  • I loved his discussion of the saltiness. A salty vanilla makes sense like salted caramel does. I think that sounds terrific. Sebastian always does a good job. I’m in Ohio.

  • Doni Light says:

I’ve heard from quite a number of reviewers that Vanilla Vibes is reminiscent of tanning lotion. Loved how Sebastian described the experience of smelling salt though! He’s right! NaCl does have a mineralic smell. Such an interesting melange of notes in this one. Actually looking forward to trying it on skin. Summertime here we come! NC

  • Always love Sebastian’s reviews, I never thought about trading Fleur de sel, so I’m intrigued by that note. All the other notes sound great, and I’m always looking for a summer scent that is not too heavy and sweet. Thanks for the draw and the review!

  • Loved Sebastian’s review, as always, like the idea of the Fleur de sel and taste, and love all the notes, always looking for a summer scent that isn’t too heavy and sweet. Can’t wait to try this one. Thanks for the draw and the review!

  • I love this fragrance house- and Sebastian has yet again described the fragrance so that I must have it! I love a salty fragrance in the summer and although am not a fan of sweet (much like Romana Ricci) this one sounds luxurious and perfectly balanced. Excited to give it a try! Thanks again for another excellent review.

  • I stumbled upon Sebastian’s excellent video while specifically seeking out reviews of this particular fragrance. I really appreciate the synesthetic aspects of the review – as a fragrance neophyte, questions like “ok, but what does salt smell like?” are exactly the kind of naive things that I wonder, so it’s nice to see a reviewer who knows his stuff but also describes his impressions in a way that is accessible to people like me. I’m typically drawn to darker, more autumnal scents, but this sounds right up my alley as I attempt to branch out and prepare for the warmer months. I have a few JHAG fragrances which I love, and am excited to smell their interpretation of summer. I’d love to try it, and am happy to have a new reviewer to refer to as I delve deeper into scent!

  • Brandon Charles Bielhy says:

Great review by Sebastian! I’ve seen several reviewers cover this brand and, more specifically, this fragrance. I’m def intrigued and would really like to sample this. Even better would be winning a full bottle! Thanks…VA, USA

  • bigscoundrel says:

Another great review by Sebastian. I’m very interested in Vanilla Vibes with its salty, creamy sandalwood and oceanic feel. I’m in the USA.

  • First off, this is one of the prettiest bottles JHAG has ever made!
Sooo aesthetically pleasing!! I haven’t smelled this yet, but after reading this article & watching Seb’s video, I am really excited to try it!! Sounds really beachy with vanilla and hints of sea salt!
I would love the opportunity to try this!
I cant wait to see what else JHAG comes up with, scent & packaging- wise! Thank you for the review & chance to snag a bottle, I live in USA!

  • redwheelbarrow says:

Sebastian does such a great job of describing perfume. This one is really reminding me of being at the beach with the smell of salt water and vanilla. The addition of sandalwood sounds quite nice and this one is definitely on my list to try. Thank you for the draw, I am in the US.

  • Cheryl Gregory says:

Haven’t been able to get my nose on this one yet, but I’m looking for a great summer scent. Enjoyed Sabastain’s review.

  • Great job, Sebastian! Thank you!
I like vanilla perfumes very much, for example Jeroboam Insulo, but do not remember “beachy” vanilla)

  • Gabriel Garcia says:

    Great review spotlight Sebastian,
I love salty summer scents, and to me it’s like a vacation in a bottle, can’t wait to try it out

  • I have no experience with Juliette Has a Gun , but enjoyed the reviews of Lady Vengeance by Christi Long , and Vanilla Vibes by Mr. Jara .
Beachy , suntan lotion kind of smell, with coconut , some aquatic and salty touches, and big dose of vanilla. Sounds pretty good to me. Fun and beachy . I need both sun , vacation and a beach in my life.
    Thanks for the opportunity
    USA

  • How interesting and colorful Sebastian usually describes perfumes. I gourmand, vanilla big lover, so want to try this new perfume, I have already read mmany good reviews about it. I like Lira Xerjoff – interesting vanilla. Thanks for this review and draw.
    USA

  • The way Sebastian described the fragrance it really seems intriguing.he always seems to get me to spend money.I would love to be entered in the full bottle giveaway.

  • Sebastian is always point on! This vanilla saltiness sounds wonderful. I think this one would be great for a summer evening. Thanks for the opportunity. USA

  • recursivemask says:

Sebastion continues to impress us with his wit, vocabulary, and descriptive abilities! JHAG sounds like such an interesting fragrance and I difinitely need to get this on my skin. I’m in the us.

  • DulciusExAsperis says:

Excited to learn about this fragrance as I also am not a fan of *very sweet* vanilla, so salty vanilla sounds intriguing. I’m in the USA!

  • Uncle1979 says:

Sebastian is so good with hyping up fragrances. I feel like I have to try at least 8/10 fragrances he’s reviewing. Same thing with Vanilla Vibes .
Aquatic vanilla? What is this? And orchid ? I have a good feeling about this good looking bottle.
Salt can give any fragrance a nice twist, but only as supporting , and not the main player on the field.
I’m happy Vanilla Vibes is vanilla fragrance, with salty touches, and not some salted bomb with hints of vanilla.
Good job as usual by Sebastian. Thank you Europerfumes and Cafleurebon too.
    Much appreciated.

  • It was an amazing review! He covered the scent and performance as always. I think I’d really enjoy this one!

  • Lawanda Gilbert says:

I’d to enter, I like the fact he talked about the salt experience in this fragrances. He’s right, smelling salt is an experience in fragrances and one of the most interesting thing that caught my eye with a vanilla fragrance. I also like how he mentioned the creamy, woody quality the fragrance, that sounds like a great combo!

  • Really want to try this after watching the review. He makes great points and breaks it down for us to be able to imagine. I love vanilla.

  • I appreciated the full breakdown of the fragrance’s notes in Sebastian’s review. Just salt and vanilla didn’t sound that appealing. It’s really heartening to hear that it has a coconut quality and some noteable floral character. I enjoyed a coconut and gardenia perfume that I sampled recently so this could be right up alley.

  • I truly appreciate Sebastian review because he details this fragrance so well, an Amber Fresh scent. I would love to smell this fragrance. I live in CA, USA.

  • I smelled the other day and thought it was just ok. Maybe I need another chance at it. I like his oud perfume .

  • WaltherP99 says:

If there was a fragrance that suits “Miami Vice” original TV show , Vanilla Vibes is the one. I feel like it was made for James “Sonny” Crockett played by Don Johnson.
I’ve been following Romano and Juliette Has A Gun on IG for a long time at @signorricci and @juliettehasagun,and @official_europerfumes too , and of course the man himself @lookfeelsmellgreat
Love my full bottle of Into The Void , plus it’s one of the best i’ve ever seen.
    Thank you for this draw.

  • citizenkage says:

This would be perfect for the Florida summer. I have seen a few reviewers talking about this fragrance and have seen a couple say this is their favorite vanilla fragrance. I love vanilla so I’m sure I would like this. Sebastian approved too so I know it’s gonna be good. I really like the company Juliette has a gun, the other fragrances I’ve smelled from them have been fantastic! Thanks for the opportunity. USA.

  • Bubeto_GG says:

    “slightly quirky”
Haha – Sebastian and his reviews .
Vanilla Vibes review made me think how much i need a vacation – laying on the beach , drinking a mojito cocktail , and relaxing doing nothing . That’s how i feel about Vanilla Vibes . Not like some party animal type of fragrance, but more of a laying with a book under some big beach umbrella , and enjoying my time.
    Thanks for the draw.

  • Vanilla Vibes is exactly what i need for the summer – happy , fun and uplifting summer scent. I can use it during the day , but also for the nights out.

“This is the first time M. Ricci has worked with vanilla as a linchpin ingredient and he needed to find a twist as he’s not a fan of sweet notes.”

Wait a bit-that’s not truth.Juliette has a gun I know because of “Mmmm” . It’s like Hypnotic Poison flanker – had to get it, since I am huge Hypnotic Poison fan.It is really sweet , and vanilla is the most prominent note .

Thank for the review , and the opportunity

  • Sebastian …Sounds like an interesting fragrance…looking forward to trying this. In the USA.

Juliette Has a Gun is a new house to me.Like i said in your Lady Vengeance draw heard the name mentioned lately on Youtube because ot Vanilla Vibes , and now we have a review and a draw 🙂
I have a feeling Vanilla Vibes will be a pleasant summer scent .with a twist. We all love vanilla , but the salt and the orchid twist is intriguing. Beachy fragrances should not be super strong, so i’m glad Vanilla Vibes sits close to the skin.
I also have to say Vanilla Vibes bottle looks a lot better than the black one on Lady Vengeance ,
    Thanks a lot

  • I’d like to try this unique vanilla out. Like the look of the bottle and that it’s a summer vanilla fragrance. Enjoyed Sebastian’s review. Thanks, US

  • Michael Prince says:

Sebastian, great review of Juliette Has A Gun Vanilla Vibes. I like how how its described as a vanilla, coconutty, sun-tan lotion experience, with that unique salt note Fleur de Sel. I also would enjoy the creamy sandalwood and resinous base. Sounds like a great fragrance. I am a subscriber from the USA.

  • As always, I loved Sebastian’s laid-back reviewing style; he makes any fragrance, no matter how high-end, feel ‘accessable’ to the average perfume buyer. Thank you for including his reviews! I am in the US.

  • I loved Sebastian’s review. It sounds like a fun salty vanilla so perfect for summer. I really like Juliette Has a Gun (Lady Vengeance is my favorite).
    I live in the USA.

  • Seems like a nice summer fragrance that I could enjoy. Sebastian has the gift of bringing these fragrances to life for one to want to experience them. Totally enjoyed the break down of the fragrance from Sebastian.

  • Andrea Areingdale says:

I’m a vanilla lover and so is Sebastian. I’m sure this one will be a hit this summer as the notes and whole theme are ad hoc to this upcoming months.

    Thanks Cafleurebon!!!

  • I have smelled about 1/2 the JHAG line, and this is my favorite. It’s not new territory, a beach scent, but it manages to be just that little bit different. I love the salty note in this, and I really enjoyed Sebastian’s take on this when he said someone wrote in and said, “how can you smell salt, it has no smell?” He answered that it is a taste experience and I totally agree. A good salt note in perfume can stimulate those taste buds that salivate with salt and give a smell sensation. Great fragrance, great review.

  • Dying to try a summer fresh vanilla. Enjoy watching all of Sebastian’s videos. Some I agree with, others not, but hey, fragrance is subjective. Love the presentation.

  • Damiana C says:

The combination of vanilla with salty notes sounds innovative and simply divine. I enjoyed Sebastian’s fun and dynamic review of this beautiful fragrance. I live in the USA. Thank you!

  • Sebastian always has awesome reviews! He is the one blogger I watch consistently. He make me want to fly out to the sunshine-y desert and put my toes in the sand with this one! It sounds amazing. I am a big fan of JHAG and would love to try this new creation. I live in Washington DC.

  • Vanilla scents are my favorite and this one sounds so good. Great review, Sebastian!

  • I love all of Sebastian reviews they are very detailed and thorough and make me want to buy everything LOL. It sounds like this fragrance has come out at the perfect time summer! I’m a sucker for vanilla it’s my all-time favorite note in perfumery I like heavy vanilla base fragrances normally but during the summer I find myself wanting something pressure and lighter but still with the hint of sweetness or vanilla this sounds like it would fit that bill I would love to try it. Thank you for the chance of this giveaway I live in the United States

  • MavisKitty says:

Sebastians review was descriptive and detailed. He was as warm as the lovely Vanilla Vibes. ⛱️☀️

  • I’d love to try Vanilla Vibes! Sebastian’s review makes it sound amazing. I’m a huge vanilla fan. Add Tonka and sandalwood wood to the mix and you’ve got some magic. What’s not to love?

  • William De Shazo says:

Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity! Such an incredible sounding fragrance both my wife and I are looking forward to trying this one sometime soon and if we could win a bottle that would be pretty amazing as well!
