As the cherry perfume craze continues, Romano Ricci’s latest creation, ‘Juliette,’ arrives just in time for summer—a bold, juicy fragrance that’s irresistibly flirtatious. It seems as if Juliette Has a Gun increasingly captivates a younger audience with each new release, and ‘Juliette’ is no exception.

Europerfumes, the USA distributor hosted a lavish rooftop bash at Hotel Chantelle in New York City to mark their latest fragrance debut, with Romano Ricci jetting in from Paris to join the celebration. Cocktails curated to complement the fragrance lit up the night—from the Juliette-inspired cherry Bellinis to the fiery Red N’ Spicy mix of tequila, hibiscus, and Cointreau. It was an unforgettable evening of sipping and spritzing for all the dedicated brand lovers and perfume connoisseurs.

Now what does Juliette smell like? At the heart of Juliette, a unique blend of dark cherry, pink pepper, and an overdose of Cashmeran takes the lead, creating a dance of the sensual and the modern. These elements transform the deep, dark cherry into something profoundly sensual, with a sillage that boldly announces its presence.
Yet, amidst these robust notes lies a delicate Jasmine absolute—though calling it floral would not do it justice. It’s more a nuanced fruity-floral, crafted with sophistication, elegance, and a touch of provocation. Juliette has a Gun Juliette is designed for those who lean towards fruity fragrances yet appreciate a dash of woody restraint. It’s sweet and slightly floral but has a sturdy backbone, making it ideal for a romantic rendezvous. It’s a fragrance that likes to lead and insists on having everything its way.

The intrigue around this launch was palpable, considering how integral the name ”Juliette” has become to the brand’s DNA. I was eager to see how Romano would weave the house’s storied legacy into this new fragrance while demonstrating its ability to stay on top of contemporary trends. Juliette needed to be at once feminine and masculine, both approachable and mystifying enough to seduce the senses. The result hits all these marks with aplomb. It embodies the intensity of a style that has swept from the runways into our fragrance collections, echoing the red and burgundy vampiness that has dominated recent fashion. And yet, like all Juliette Has a Gun releases, it remains accessible and straightforward. You won’t have to guess with any of the perfumes from this house, and it’s a calibrated move, not a mistake. It serves as a perfect gateway into niche perfumery—a segment that has evolved into a broader, more accessible category known for its artistic and innovative edge.
Notes: Dark Cherry, Pink Pepper, Cashmere Flower, Jasmine Absolute, Ambroxan, Tonka Bean.
