Juliette Has A gun Ex vetiver

Juliette Has A Gun Ex Vetiver is an overdose of vetiver with 3 different varieties in the formula: Vetiver from Haiti, India, and Indonesia. We asked Romano Ricci about his first masculine fragrance and here is his reply:

Romano Ricci of Juliette Has a Gun

“Juliette has a Gun has always been a brand exclusively dedicated to women. With Ex Vetiver, I wanted to make a new proposal: a feminine fragrance… dedicated to men! Until now, all our creations were addressed to women. For once, it’s not the case. I deny the unisex denomination, it’s the Woman who invites the man into her universe. At the center of the concept, a classic of perfumery I had never worked on: Vetiver.” ROMANO RICCI

Top notes – Bergamot essence, Lemon essence; Heart notes – Vetiver des Sables (India), Vetiver (Haiti), Vetiver (Indonesia); Base notes – Ambroxan, Musk

  • My two favorite scents from Juliette Has a Gun are Juliette and
Not A Perfume. Like Steve, Vetiver is hit or miss for me; he feels that the 3 different vetivers here are elevated from the earthiness vetiver is known for, with Ex Vetiver leaning more on the clean side with the inclusion of Ambroxan and Musk and combined the brightness of Bergamot and lemon essence. The opening for him having a subtle citrusy element that has a somewhat sweet-like creaminess; this is a scent that has mass appeal, a friendly vetiver for perfume lovers that find vetiver too masculine. That is a unique take on vetiver that he feels would be a complement getter and is wearable for at least the warmer and cooler seasons.

The versatility of this scent is so compelling. I think that’s among the greatest things about Juliette Has a Gun fragrances–they are never out of place.

  • Steven Ty for your video as always.
I like how u say there is 3 types of vetiver and bergamot and lemon essence.
And the opening you said lemon and citrusy smell that’s gonna make it mass appealing

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

I think it’s interesting that this fragrance includes three different versions of vetiver in the scent profile. I like how Steven mentioned that this is a good fragrance for those that typically don’t like vetiver. I live in Maryland USA.

    Thanks for the great review.

I really enjoy vetiver and find it to be a a very soothing scent profile. I love the way the citrus is used to elevate the slight citrus touches that vetiver tends to have. I find Indonesian Vetiver to be so chocolatey.

    I do love the presentation.

Super excited to try this out.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Ex Vetiver sounds perfect for spring! Love the review that highlighted the citric freshness and the three kinds of vetiver! Sounds like a clean yet strong vetiver. I really want to get my nose on this one since I love vetiver. Thanks!

  • Ramses Perez says:

My favorite Juliette Has A Gun is still Vanilla Vibes because I am first and foremost a vanilla lover. The brand has always been on the innovative side of things and although most of their offerings are feminine I do find them perfectly fine for a man to wear. This one has captured my attention because of the 3 types of vetiver and how Steven describes it as a sort of clean/creamy scent. Judging by the notes ai wouldn’t have guessed that but that is where the masterful approach of the perfumer comes in. Describing it as a feminine fragrance dedicated to men, I can only suspect the amount of compliments a man will get from women wearing it. I’m located in the USA.

  • The description of this fragrance was the most appealing part of the review. I have no favorite from the house. US

  • Donna Murphy-Carosi says:

Ex Vetiver sounds wonderful! The earthy, clean and fresh balance is intriguing. I like the Not a Perfume from Juliette has a Gun.

  • Sherin Thomas says:

I have a small sample of this fragrance and I first discovered it at Scent explorer 2024. I got many compliments wearing this. Steven’s review about the clean fresh aspect of this fragrance is on point. Hope to win this bottle. From PA,USA

  • Amy Schulte says:

Steven’s review was detailed and concise and that’s why I enjoy his channel. He gets to the point. Love Not A Perfume. I live in Texas.

  • Daniel Rutan says:

From Steven’s review of Ex Vetiver, the description of a creamy citrus Vetiver opening, sounds gorgeous. I’m not sure if I have ever smelled a fragrance that incorporated three different regional forms of Vetiver but I’m very intrigued by that conceptually. Steven also really drove home that this is a mass appealing fragrance that can be dressed up or down, and I love veratile scents for that reason. I live in Illinois.

  • Corina Lymburner says:

I like how Steven compares this vetiver to others, clearly helping me to understand it’s characteristics; JHAG’s Juliette is my favorite of the few I’ve tried; and I live here the USA

  • Steven really makes the scent come alive in his reviews. Ive not smelled any from this brand yet. I live in Florida USA.

  • Not only is Haitian vetiver lovely, it also helps Haiti by helping its farmers and protecting its soil. Vetiver roots are dense and fibrous, and help to prevent erosion.

I’m always glad to see Haitian vetiver being used in a fragrance!

  • I dont know what vetiver is or what it smells like but after i leave this comment i am going to look it up.

  • It sounds like from Steven’s description that this is a citrusy clean vetiver as opposed to some of the earthy spiced ones so that’s a plus for me. I’m hit or miss on vetiver, like him, I believe Haitian is my favorite vetiver profile but it all depends on what’s added to it too! My fav vetiver is Atelier Cologne’s Vetiver Fatale but of course that’s long discontinued, I hope to try this one! I am in USA.

  • I love Juliet Has A Gun! Steven did an excellent review in YouTube and made it sound more interesting since I love fresh clean scents and knowing the brand, this won’t give me a migraine. I’m in love with the bottle and it’s in my favorite color too! I have the Not A Perfume bottle that I use everyday and I’m hoping this would layer well with it. It’s still winter here and California but I can’t wait for spring and summer to wear this!

  • tcorbett777 says:

I love Not A Perfume and Juliette, but not so crazy about the Vanilla vibes, it smells like Play-doh to me. I would love to try Superdose and this new Ex Vetiver fragrance, as well.

  • ALT ATTITUDES says:

I’ve purchased many Vetiver fragrances and still looking for that one that really hits home. I like that this one has 3 kinds. Hoping that the blend really makes it wonderful. My tied-for-first favorite JHAG fragrance so far is Lust for Sun and Oil Fiction.

Very unique and beautiful fragrance! I’ll be so happy to put my hands on it …
    Thank you for opportunity.
    Good luck everyone!

  • First of all thanks for all your videos, I learned a lot. I love love perfume, You show me so many perfumes that I never saw before , thanks again. I never had or smelled the vetiver. I would like to try it.

  • Bonnie Charanza says:

The description of this fragrance was the most appealing part of the review. My fav from this house is Pear Inc. I am located in the US.

  • Silvester Hernandez says:

I’m excited to smell the verities of vertiver. Something that i never smelled before kind new to fragrance so I’m excited to smell this fragrance

  • I agree with Steven that this is a mass appealing vetiver. It is a very safe and inoffensive fragrance. This is the only Juliette has a gun fragrance that I’ve sampled. I’ve only tested this in the cold and found it slightly underwhelming but I feel like this is a scent that would be much better in warmer weather as it’s a lighter, fresh, and citrus forward vetiver. I’m in the USA.

  • Happy bday Steven! I always enjoy your enthusiasm, and your obscure frames of references! I do enjoy vetiver and would love to try this one, sounds very pleasing and wearable. I’m in the US. Thanks for the review and the draw

  • I love that Mr. Ricci stated that he was denying the unisex denomination, and rather chose to call this an instance where the woman’s world of Juliette Has a Gun is inviting men into their universe. I have had the opportunity to try this one just yesterday and it is a brilliantly vibrant vetiver scent. As Steven said, the fragrance is a wonderful balance of earthy/grassy notes with clean musks. To me, the lemon and vetiver combo comes across much like lemongrass, which just makes my mouth water. It is incredibly unique, which is a feat for such a popular ingredient in perfumery. I would be flabbergasted to have it in my collection, as it is my favorite that I have tried from the house so far. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • I like how Steven summarized what you are getting in this fragrance without taking forever to explain it. The sound is creamy vetiver sounds appealing. I always love a clean professional fragrance. I feel like everyone should have at least 1 clean and professional fragrance in their collection. It just sounds like an elegant idea. I live in the US.

  • I got a sample of this and love it! It’s clean, bright and a little grassy. It has been sitting in my cart while I try to decide between this and Mizensir Mythique Vetyver. Ex Vetiver is my favorite from the line. Seattle

  • I love the inclusion of three different vetivers in this blend. This certainly gives the full vetiver experience and with the citrus opening and ambroxan/musk base produces a bright and verdant olfactory experience. MD, USA

  • First and foremost-HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STEVEN!! I appreciate the breakdown of notes and descriptions in Steven’s reviews, and this one is no exception. Describing this as a clean, easy-to-wear fragrance for every season but the heat of winter makes this one sound like an easy reach! So far, Not a Perfume is the fave from this house. Cheers from Ohio! 🙂

  • Living in the USA! My favorite is Vanilla Vibes. Vetiver is actually a profile I don’t have a lot of experience with, I wouldn’t mind a nice clean citrus Vetiver fragrance to try.

  • This sounds like a very interesting scent. I have never had a Vetiver fragrance but I have always wanted to try but thought it would be to daring & could only use when dressed up. But. It sounds like this is perfect scent

  • AromaDulce73 says:

This sounds interesting. I don’t have a Vetiver forward fragrance in my collection. Like that Steven said this is a bright, citrusy fragrance. Three vetivers in one. A nice, unique mass appealing fragrance for the spring season.

  • foreverscents says:

I love all varieties of vetiver— clean, dirty, earthy, rooty, dry, dark, astringent. Ex Vetiver sounds clean and creamy, and easy to wear. Most of the vetiver fragrances I wear are dark, so I’d love to have a more clean and citrus-centered fragrance. Ex Vetiver sounds perfect for when spring comes. Thank you, Steven, for another informative video review.
    I live in the USA.

  • Romano kept this overdose of vetiver relatively simple and just added a bit of citrus in the opening and ambroxan and musk to extend the progression. I’m curious if this “feminine fragrance” reminds me of classic green vetiver fragrances, a style I really enjoy, and sometimes do seem more common around the mens perfume counter. Steven noted the opening smells “creamy and citrusy”, like a “lemon cake”, with a broadly appealing DNA. Lots of clean-smelling vetiver here. This one sounds very easy to love. Also, happy birthday Steven!

I live in the USA. The only Juliette Has A Gun fragrance I’ve tried is Not a Perfume.

  • Ex Vetiver by Juliette Has a Gun is a bold, sophisticated take on the classic vetiver note, offering a fresh yet smoky interpretation of this iconic ingredient. The fragrance opens with a bright, green burst of citrus, giving it an uplifting, zesty feel. As it settles, the earthy richness of vetiver takes center stage, its woody, slightly smoky character balanced by subtle hints of spices and amber. The result is a modern, refined vetiver scent that feels both clean and earthy, evoking the raw elegance of nature with a polished edge. Ideal for those who appreciate a fragrance that’s at once fresh and deeply grounding.

  • LaTrese Woods says:

It’s the citrus and musk part of his review that intrigues me with wanting to try this perfume. I love bergamot too. I love all things Juliette Has a Gun. Not a perfume is one of my favorites by the brand! I live in the USA

  • First discovered Juliette Has a Gun with Not a perfume.
It’s my go to.. I don’t have any vetiver fragrances that I like so the triple dose of vetiver seems a great way to discover. Steven does the best videos
    I live in USA

  • Two of my favorite fragrances from Juliette Has a Gun are Juliette and Not A Perfume. Regarding vetiver scents, my feelings are mixed, much like Steve’s. However, he describes the three types of vetiver in Ex Vetiver as being refined beyond the typical earthy qualities associated with vetiver. This particular composition leans toward a cleaner profile, thanks to the inclusion of Ambroxan and musk, which blend seamlessly with the bright, zesty notes of bergamot and lemon essence. Steve notes that the opening carries a subtle citrusy character with a creamy sweetness, making it a more approachable and versatile vetiver fragrance. It strikes a balance that appeals to those who usually find vetiver too traditionally masculine. With its unique twist on the classic vetiver profile, Ex Vetiver is a crowd-pleaser and a potential compliment magnet. Its versatility makes it suitable for warm and cooler seasons, offering a fresh and modern take on this timeless note. Greetings from NY 😉

  • Hi I’m Ben from Philadelphia pa my Favorite is Juliette Has A Gun Ex Vetiver love the fresh what can go wrong with any , clean scents , Love how Steven from Redolessence put it smells like lemon cake But it’s not a gourmand fragrance Citrus scent that’s what I love
