Jovoy 21 Conduit St review

On June 11, 2020 Editor Sebastian Jara hosted Francois Henin of Jovoy Paris aka “the Ambassador of Niche perfumery” via InstaLive. Francois spoke about the genesis of the new fragrance dedicated to sister store, Jovoy Mayfair, which is located on 21 Conduit Street in London. Oli Marlow, the assistant manager at Jovoy Mayfair and perfumer always loved woody aromatics and was developing a fragrance with  British lavender.  Francois Henin was visiting London and was impressed by Oli Marlow’s talent (which isn’t easy to do since M. Henin smells hundreds of fragrances from dozens of perfumers; his nose knows). For 21 Conduit Street for Jovoy Mayfair, Oli Marlow (London) and Marie Schnirer of Maelstrom (Paris) joined forces.

All our editors and contributors are fans of Jovoy Paris fragrances; there’s a trace of the house’s signature, yet it’s totally original. Both Sebastian and I agree, what’s prominent and really special in 21 Conduit St. is the magnificent fir balsam accord-very green, and woodsy, as if you were in a forest, and an intoxicating, sexy trail of ambroxan at the base (both are as well done as any of we have tried in quite some time).  –Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

  • Sebastian your information about jokoy 21 is so so nolidgible love your videos and have never tried any of these products but will check them out. Hopefully I will qualifie for the draw look forward on hearing back thank you.

  • I do love Sebastian reviews. I tried most of his recommendations and he was the ine introducing me to some of my preferred perfumes from jovoy. Remember me and psychedelic. I will try soon this new release

  • Shamrock1313 says:

    Great review by Sebastian.
Grapefruit, bergamot, rhubarb, citrus, pine, woods, almonds and ambroxan.
This soup absolutely incredible. Would love to win this beauty.

  • Michelyn’s introduction highlights the most prominent notes and makes me curious to try it, it sounds like it’s going to be another winner from Jovoy! This is only confirmed by Sebastian in his video. In my opinion, the comment that makes me most excited about this fragrance is how he describes the dry down – when he was wearing several different things and something stood out to him, not being sure what it is that smells so great. Only to realize later it was this fragrance. I think this is something that every fraghead experienced, sniffing trails on something wonderful on one’s clothes, trying to figure out which fragrance it is!

I like several Jovoy fragrances, hard to pick just one.. It would be between Incident diplomatique, Psychedelique and Pavilion Rouge.

  • Abdullah jamaal says:

Best reviewer on YouTube for niche none other than Sebastian would love to win this please enter me

  • Typical of Sebastian’s review, he breaks down the scent in as intricate a way as possible. Something you don’t get with most youtubers. Regarding Michelyn’s introduction, I’m glad she mentioned the ambroxan at the base. It seems like ambroxan is one of those ingredients that are overdone in some fragrances, making them smell cheap and synthetic. It’s seems to be hard to do it right and I’m glad you agree this composition was done right. Currently my favorite Jovoy is Remember Me with Psychedelique a close second.

  • I’m a big fan of English lavenders (circa Floris and Penhaligon’s), but even more so of green, forest smelling fragrances, as Michelyn mentioned. Favourite from the brand is Pavillon Rouge, but this seems like a great contrast to that genre of scent. Very excited to try this fragrance, even with the addition of ambrox in the base. From Sebastian’s description it sounds like an interesting transition! An intense fir to a sexy ambroxan? Couldn’t imagine a green fragrance with heaps of that molecule, but it seems Jovoy pulled it off. I’ve long since used Seb as a relaible gauge for fragrance quality so if he’s a fan, it’s gotta be good. MI, USA.

  • Another great review by Sebastian! Finally! A fresh one from my favorite house and also my favorite fragrance boutique! I’ve been looking forward for something fresh from them for a long time. I’ve been a fan of jovoy for several years now and loved almost every creation of them. But pretty much all of them lean toward oriental or woody. And I always keep a soft spot for fresh citrusy fragrance in my heart. Really interested about what’s Jovoy’s take on this! For now I have 3 favorite Jovoy fragrances, all 3 of their patchouli heavy fragrances, private label, psychédélique ans incident diplomatique. All beautiful and well crafted in very different ways.
Thank you so much for the opportunity of this giveaway, good luck to everyone. I live in France.

  • AlwaysWater says:

I’ve only smelled one other ambroxan fragrance, so I appreciated how Sebastian described what it was like in this case. I also love that they made fir balsam the star in this, instead of just a supporting note. My favorite perfumes have been the ones that transport you somewhere…in this case a forest. I haven’t tried any from Jovoy yet, but it’s been on my radar after Sebastian reviewed one in his top incense fragrance videos. USA

  • Nice review Sebastian, seems to be pretty good my favourite one so far Incident Diplomatic and your review for that one was spot on as well. I live in UK please count me in would love to win.
    Thanks

  • I appreciate michhelyns introduction because I was unaware this was being released, so it was great to get some of the back story to this scent.

Sebastian is one of my favourite reviewers for a reason, his ability to both educate us on the scent from what is directly inside the composition to also sharing other notes/accords that he smells is always so helpful and engaging.

    I’m from Ireland, EU

  • The thing that i enjoyed the most of this review / intro is in what Michelyn and Sebastian agreed, as they both described it as a magnificent green woodsy smell with a foresty feeling experience, and what appeals to me the most is the ultra sexy ambroxan trail tha is left in the base. I love ambroxan, my signature fragrance is ELdO’s Hermann a mes cotes blah blah… so i am sure i will love this new Jovoy.
My favortite Jovoy is Private Label, i love its manly, beefy, testosterone and power feeling on it. It is a masterpiece.
I really hope to win this 21 Conduit St. bottle.
    Regards. California, USA.

  • I love how Jovoy’s bottles look. Never smelled any of their fragrances. Bought samples of incident diplomatique based on how highly Sebastian regards the house. I’d love to try this new release as well.

  • I enjoyed this review. Great job, Sebastian! Thank you Michelyn for information.
I love woody perfumes very much and fir balsam with balsamic and woody notes with ambroxan sound great!!!

  • Lfotopoulos says:

Great review Seb! I love to test this new one from jovoy. All of the creations are great with beast mode performance, I think my favourites are incident diplomatique and art de la guerre. From Greece.

  • tassosintzes says:

I appreciate Sebastian’s analytical approach to his review. He gives you a sufficient idea of what the fragrance is about, together with smaller, yet important details. Great job!

  • I am a big fan of ambroxan fragrances and I have never tried any fragrances from this house and would love the chance to this new one.

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

I haven’t tried a Jovoy fragrance, but this one sounds like a very good introduction to the house. I liked how Michelyn mentioned how it impressed somebody like Francois Henin, who has smelled so many other fragrances. Also, I enjoyed Sebastian discussing the use of rhubarb, fir balsam, almonds, and ambroxan to make an intoxicating and unique woody fragrance.

  • Lavender is such a calming scent. Would live to see more lavender fragrances reviews from Sebastian.

  • I did not try anything from this brand, yet. I like both of the video and the article. I like forest fragrances, so probably I would enjoy this also. Thank you for the draw. I live in Europe.

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always incredible, and this could not be less. I love Jovoy fragrances and this one in particular.

  • Armando Esparza says:

I like the inclusion of the almondy touch in the heart. Although it sounds like one gets mostly fur balsam and woodsy notes, it still reminds you of being in a green forest, which i adore!
    Armando E. Usa

  • I loved the detailed verbal journey from the rhubarb bitterness to the lush green heart! I also loved learning about the almond facet, because I typically associate it to more gourmand interpretations. Thank you Sebastian!

  • I was worried with ambroxan it might be another Bleu/Sauvage type, but I’m glad Sebastian assured it has a woody green vibe with the fir balsam to give it some character, and supported by Michelyn’s comment as if you were in a forest. I don’t have a favorite Jovoy because I haven’t had the opportunity to try any, yet. Hopefully I win, cheers from Indiana USA.

  • I liked the deatailed description of the perfume, the notes and remark on the drydown that was something Sebastian was waiting. For me a drydown wouldn`t be a reason to buy a fragrance, perhaps Jovoy 21 Conduit Street is still worth it? I`d like to find out myself

  • I always enjoy how enthusiastic Sebastian is about Jovoy, and like hus reviews in general! I didnt know the new perfume is coming!

  • One of my favs from Jovoy Paris is La Liturgie des Heures. Sebastian says that there’s a zingy grapefruit note, which I like. The pine forest vibe has me interested. Thanks for another fabulous draw! Mich USA

  • I love the caption, “Ambroxan + Woods!” And that is worthy of an exclamation point! I like the addition of lavender and rhubarb in a green based fragrance. Nice review, Sebastian. Favorite Jovoy Paris is Incident Diplomatique. Commenting from MD, USA.

  • Loved the story of how Sebastian kept on trying to figure out why he’s smelling so good 🙂 I have had similar experience before, of trying to remember what does it smell like, where have I smelled it, etc. Discovering the answer is always fun. In, still haven’t tried Jovoy perfumes, yet. I like 21 Conduit Street because of its green-woodsy smell from fir balsam, and the base ambers notes. Liked the clear description in Sebastian’s review and Michelyn’s introduction. Thanks for the review and the draw. Writing from the USA.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s review and Michelyn’s introduction. Jovoy’s “21 Conduit Street” seems like a high-quality, original, intense fragrance. According to Michelyn, if a perfumer’s work impresses Francois Henin of Jovoy Paris, then it wouldn’t be a fallacy to say that that perfumer’s work, most likely, is high-quality. I certainly want to see what the prominent fir balsam accord is like. I want to see what the contrast is like between the grapefruit opening and when it dries down to a very woodsy/green fragrance with some lavender. I believe that this fragrance would help me have a much better understanding of ambroxan. I think that this fragrance would help me become familiar with Jovoy since I’ve only heard of them by means of Sebastian’s reviews. I definitely want to win this giveaway; I live in MD., U.S.A.

  • I’m really glad he reviewed this, and I appreciate that Sebastian was able to describe the multiple layers this fragrance has. I haven’t tried anything from Jovoy yet, which is why I’d love to enter the giveaway.

Michelyn and Sebastian both mentioning that fir balsam note (which I love as a note) is particularly enticing.

  • Great review. I love a non-linear fragrance with a great dry down. You really have me interested in this fragrance with the description of a pine forest. One of my favorite parts of camping back home was the smell of the forest, and pine needles.

  • I remember hearing that this perfume will launch soon and I was very interested in hearing more about it. After reading the introduction and seeing it is a woodsy scent with a lot of ambroxan I was very excited. After the Sebastian’s video …even more! This sounds like something. would really like! I don’t own any of the Jovoy fragrances yet….but this might just be the one to start from! I’m from Illinois, US.

  • Andre-Finns says:

I think Sebastian is a truthful, thorough reviewer who is very knowlegable and well informed. My favourite Jovoy so far is Pavillon Rouge, a great fragrance for winter

  • I’ve made this comparison before, but I’ll do it again
In basketball Michael Jordan is wildly considered to be the GOAT , greatest of all time.
In our beloved fragrance world, Jovoy Paris is what Michael Jordan is to NBA, the epitome of niche fragrances knowledge, and service like no other.
Now reopen I’m certain Francois Henin is even more motivated .
From Jovoy as a brand i do own full bottle of the famous Les Jeux sont Faits – fantastic night out scents. One of the best out there-to me at least.Remember Me i also own.
21 Conduit St feels like a modern take on woody aromatics, bitter grapefruit, fir balsam and raw almonds , and the sexyness of ambroxan.
I’ve been to Jovoy London , and it’s not just Cafleurebon reviewers, we all love Jovoy fragrances ❤
    @cafleurebon , @theperfumeguy @jovoyparis i already follow . I also follow the other 2 Jovoy boutiques I’ve been to @jovoymayfair and @jovoyuae
    Oh’ just followed @olimarlowperfumes too
    Thank you Sebastian and Jovoy

  • I really enjoyed from Michelyn’s introduction learning that Jovoy Mayfair would be Jovoy Paris’s sister store. I think with a similar but unique enough brand is such an interesting concept. I really enjoyed learning from Sebastian’s video that the ambroxan is really able to take center stage in this fragrance. I do not have a favorite Jovoy Paris fragrance. I live in Florida, USA.

  • Fragrancejourney01 says:

Sebastian always drops reviews on the latest fragrances and keeps me up to date on all the new releases.I’m a huge fan of Jovoy and I’m excited to smell this new release after Sebastian’s review.

  • From Sebastian’s review, it seems Jovoy 21 Conduit Street is different from usual Jovoy’s offerings. Jovoy 21 Conduit Street is relatively safer and more versatile wear. My fav. from Jovoy is Rouge Assassin. USA

  • statikstepz says:

Hello, I live in Florida in the USA.. I’d love to enter your giveaway! What I loved about Sebastian’s review (I’m a long time subscriber of his channel), is how he speaks about this fragrance… how it is all about the Ambroxin with this one in the dry down. I love ambroxin Fragrances and this one seems to nail it from his review. I also think it is really paired well with the fir balsam in the opening, from his description of it… and how it smells like you were walking through a lush pine forest! I also love the nod to the boutique that was made by this house, I think that is really cool! All in all, I think this sounds like a fantastic fragrance and would love to win it and have it in my collection! What I love about Michelyns intro is how she gave the background of this perfume, and a little history behind it… the store and the perfumers and how they came together! I don’t have a personal favorite Javoy fragrance yet because I personally do not own any yet, but I am hoping to change this, and I think this sounds good enough for it to be the one! Although I don’t own any Javoy fragrances YET, I plan on that changing because I have heard nothing but great things! Hopefully I get the opportunity to start with this one from Cafleurebon!! Thanks again!!

  • zacharyari23 says:

Michelyn’s introduction was great, really spelling out those chords. I love Sebastian’s videos, and I very much trust his nose. The dry down period sounds interesting as I love fragrances that have a story to tell. Thanks for all the great reviews and tips! I have the Psychedelique fragrance and it’s simply amazing, but unfortunately I do not own any bottles of their fragrances just yet.

  • I’m a huge fan of the house and Incident Diplomatique is one of my favorite fragrances period so it wasn’t too difficult to sell me on this one but hearing Sebastian discuss (reiterated in this article) the nods to that fragrance and the way the fir blossom takes him to the middle of a pine forest convinces me that’s a trip I’d like to take. Chris, Michigan USA

  • My favourite Jovoy is Private Label! Sebastian’s review is informative as always he is the number one reviewer on Youtube. I love how Michelyn described the fir balsam accord ‘as if you were in a forest’.
    Florida, USA

  • isaaclopedia says:

I haven’t smelled Jovoy in person, but they’ve been on my list since I found this site, and even more so now that Michelyn said every editor is a fan. Another great review from Sebastian. Love how he describes the experience of smelling the fragrance. I love woody fragrances as well as rhubarb and lavender. I always get compliments when I wear ambroxan heavy fragrances so this one is very interesting. Would love to finally get to try Jovoy, this one seems great. I’m in California, USA

  • Daniel Fisher says:

I’m glad Sebastian talks about the similarity to Incident Diplomatique, with the fir balsam in the heart; I’m sure this is stunning. I love Jovoy, my favorites are Jus Interdit, Psychedelique, Private Label. I love the fragrance history Michelyn gives us, setting the stage for this new potion.

  • I love Jovoy fragrances and this sounds right up my alley. Sébastian has never steered me wrong, so if he likes it, I’m sure I’ll like it too. His description of the citrus opening with a hint of lavender and a lot of fir balsam and ambroxan sounds great. I always love lavender and fir balsam. And Michelyn’s info about the assistant manager of the Jovoy store getting a chance to create a perfume for Jovoy is great. What an opportunity. My favorite Jovoy fragrances are Psychedelique and Incident Diplomatique. It’s impossible to pick a winner. I live in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, USA.

  • This sounds really interesting and different. From Sebastians review the opening and drydown sound really great especially the sexy drydowm he mentioned. But the mid with the dominant fir balsam like going into a pine forest sounds like such a contrast with the opening id love to experience it. Michelyn in her intro in fact said the fir balsam and ambroxan are both done extremely well and I absolutely take her and Sebastians word for it every day of the week! I also liked how she explained the meeting of Oli Marlow and Francois Henan and how this fragrance came to be. I havent tried any Jovoy fragrances yet but would love to try this and Remember Me sounds wonderful to me as well. Thank you from CT USA for this generous draw. Wishing everyone well.

  • IcarusMidAir says:

It’s always a pleasure to hear Sebastian talk so passionately about fragrance! And reading the introduction here, on the website, made me very curious about Jovoy 21 Conduit Street. I love a balsamic, woodsy fragrance!
I’m based in Romania and I have not yet sampled any of the Jovoy creations, unfortunately.

  • All your perfumes are the best quality on the market that you can find.i found sebastian’s the most onest review..so far my favourite one is Psychedelique but i look forward to try this new one 21!

  • MarkMarkMark678 says:

Sebastian has a talent for really describing a fragrance in depth and painting a mental picture of what he’s smelling.
I’ve never had to opportunity to try anything from Jovoy, but because of sebastians video with Dalia I’d really like to try a couple.

  • Oli Marlow I’ve never heard before, but i can’t the pressure he was on , while working on a fragrance for Jovoy? Interesting info Michelyn.
21 Conduit Street i have not smelled before , but Sebastian stories are always so entertaining I’ll make sure I will. Pine is also one of my favorite notes .
Les Jeux Sont Faits is my favorite Jovoy. Underrated tobacco and rum gem I’m happy to have.
    Thanks

  • As a lover of ambroxan and fir balsam in perfumery, I can say that I am very pleased with this Sebastian’s YouTube review, who says that the fir component in this fragrance resembles the moment when you enter the forest. Abroxan balances this composition. As always – a brilliant review in simple words. This is what Michelyn says in her introduction. It must really be a wonderful scent.
I have not tried anything from this brand. Based in Wiesbech, UK

  • Again a great review by Sebastian! This really sounds like an uplifting scent that I would love to wear. Love the bergamot and the ambroxan. Would definitely spice up my days with this great perfume! Living in the EU

As always, I love Sebastian’s way of describing a fragrance beyond the notes.
As for the introduction, it made me really curious to try this out thanks to the insights presented.
I haven’t smelled any Jovoy fragrance, but I would love to since I’ve heard so much about the house. Bucharest, Romania.

  • I just recently became very interested in this house. I bought a few samples and Remember Me is my fave so far. This fragrance sounds beautiful. Sebastian is so amazing at describing scents, it’s almost as if I already know what it smells like. I love woody scents so this is right up my alley.

  • Siddharth Naik says:

Oh well, the Ambroxan! Finally, a Jovoy fragrance with the modern-day twist of Ambroxan in the drydown. The way Sebastian breaks down a fragrance is second to none. Citruses, lavender and bittersweet nature of pine and fruity fir balsam leading to the woody base sounds like a journey in itself, as exciting as Sebastian describes it. Cannot wait to try this one!

  • IvanVelikov says:

Hiking in the woods i used to do once a week, for the past 5 years, but because of my busy schedule, and overall situation in the country i do , unfortunately once or twice at best per month.
Maybe 21 Conduit St. will cheer me up with its piny qualities.
No I haven’t tried it, but I have to say Psychedelique is beyond gorgeous, one of the best patchouli scents ever , no doubts about it.
    Thank you for the opportunity

    Hi,

Thank you for your review, Sebastian, I am interested in exploring ambroxan note. I have real trouble with woody-ambers that if present in high doses I detect and after that, I detect little else apart from rubbing alcohol note in the composition. I have only recently paid attention to ambroxan. The way you describe it, it has little to do with the impression that I have from woody-ambers in general, and I am affraid that I until now I have lumped these two together and dismissed them both. I wonder how abroxan and woody-ambers correlate if at all. It seems they don’t and I would be happy to re-discover ambroxan. (London, UK)

  • I am intrigued by the woodsy notes and the Ambroxan. That is takes the jovoy dna and adds twists and turns. A beautiful description by Sebastian intrigued to try it on skin. A house that always delivers great fragrances. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • That fir balsam accord sounds wonderful, according to both of you; I love green scents. I also love Jovoy London and have visited the store at 21 Conduit Street, where I actually met M. Henin; he and his staff are just lovely. I’m also happy to know that the assistant manager Oli Marlow got the opportunity to create this! My favorite Jovoy Paris fragrance is Rose Millesimee, which I don’t own but was able to try at the store. Thanks for doing this draw — I live in the US.

  • Both Sebastian and I agree, what’s prominent and really special in 21 Conduit St. is the magnificent fir balsam accord-very green, and woodsy, as if you were in a forest, and an intoxicating, sexy trail of ambroxan at the base (both are as well done as any of we have tried in quite some time). A beautiful description by Michelyn. I am really intrigued by the notes in this composition especially Ambroxan and Woody notes that Sebastian mentioned. This is a house that I never fails to amaze. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • “21 Conduit St. is the magnificent fir balsam accord-very green, and woodsy, as if you were in a forest, and an intoxicating, sexy trail of ambroxan at the base”
Say no more , nice one Michelyn , Sebastian looks genuinely impressed too , a good sign.
Feels like I can wear it at my barbershop, but also , stylish scent i think.
Up until recently, I was not aware of Jovoy fragrances. Checked them out, and boy oh boy I was so wrong with my “Maybe later” policy towards the house.
Remember Me is in my possession now, green tea, warm, spicy and lactonic. Must try fragrance ! My favorite Jovoy.
    Thank you Sebastian, and Jovoy

  • There are some fragrance houses and creators that fascinate me and Jovoy Paris is one of them, even though I haven’t had the chance to try them until now. From what I have read and saw on reviews, and also for the name, Incident Diplomatique sounds very unique in the fragrance world. Regarding 21 Conduit St, I think the combination of green notes and ambroxan should be very seductive.

  • visokeriopas says:

Intriguing Michelin’s and Sebastian introduction for a new release. Why? Because niche house trying to highlight and pull to another level “more of designer” note of ambroxan. With that drydown feeling that Sebastian said i’m really interested in!

  • Wow! I have to say the timing of this Jovoy 21review is Halloween spooky.

    Love Michelyn’s introduction…succinctly stated.

As usual Sebastian captured my attention straightaway with his spot on description of the prominent ambroxan note.

My absolute favourite scent has been patchouli since first discovered in 1970-1971.
Followed by ambergris in 1973, these have remained my pleasure principles.

Recently however I conceded to a third sensual ingredient…lavender.

During a nighttime walk to the local Pier after a rainfall, I was hypnotized by a sweet calming scent wafting from yards of bordering plants lining the walkway. I was amazed to find that these plants are lavender. Tonight on my walk I was once again mesmerized by the lavender.

Since my move to the Pacific Northwest two years ago, my fascination with majestic evergreen trees is indescribable.

Conduit 21 sounds uncannily perfect. I know I am going to love this fragrance. Love the House of Jovoy. Have both Psychedelique and Incident Diplomatique. Love both.

  • I fell in love with ambroxan when I fell in love with my girlfriend. She was wearing Another 13 by Le Labo when we started dating and I have never been so intoxicated with a smell. She has had a few different fragrances over time but every time she pulls the trigger on Another 13 she just smells like love-chemistry to me. Ambroxan is used in a lot of fragrances but I have yet to encounter one that tops le Labo’s creation.

From previous video’s I know Sebastian likes the note as well, using words like ‘sexy’ and ‘intoxicating’ when talking about it. I have a feeling I would really love this woodsy ambroxan cocktail by Jovoy. Although I have never owned any by this house, I’m guessing it won’t take long.

Thanks for making this post, the video, and the giveaway. Would love to try this on myself and on my significant other of course.
    Greetings from The Netherlands

  • Chloe Marino says:

Sebastian says it’s a great ambroxan and woods and Michelyn agrees. I have incident diplomatique and hope that 21 Conduit Street is available in the USA or I might order from Jovoy website

  • From both Sebastian and Michelyn, I love the enthusiasm. I’m always looking for a great sexy foresty fragrance. I do not have a favorite Jovoy Paris fragrance. I am in the U.S.

  • I would love to win this because the reviewer is so excited by it. Moreso than usual I think. US

  • Sebastian really made me want to try this one, because I really love Private Label and this supposed to have some similarities but with really interesting ambroxan twist in the base.
Sounds great, better try it in form of full bottle, if Im lucky enough 😀

  • I own three Jovoy bottles and Les Jeux sont Faits is my favorite. Private Label and Incident Diplomatique are the other two which I adore. I’m not sure about 21 Conduit Street… – I am not a fan of Ambroxan, but Sebastian praise if the dry down makes it sound like I should give it a try! So please let me win this to Germany, thanks for the draw!

  • Sebastian is, as always, very good at describing the emotions and feelings evoked by fragrances. I love many of Jovoy creations, in first Incidente Diplomatique. I like that the aperture of 21 have the imprint of the other Jovoys I love, but I am even more excited by the idea of something unexpected and new built with evolutions between fir balm and ambroxan. the more sensual aspects of ambroxan are described so seductively by Sebastian that one inevitably falls in love with it.
    I am in EU
    Thanks!

Fantastic review from Sebastian. I am really hype about the new scent from Jovoy and is fresh one, it time for me to check spring fragrances . Looking forward to check that Lavender and woody combo. My favourite one from this house is Incident Diplomatique. I really hope win. Thank you. Greetings from Switzerland

  • great review from Sebastian as always
he has the art to describe so well and make the one who watch this review can almost smell it through the screen
    well done

  • My interest is always sparked when I hear about a fragrance dedicated to someone / something – this being the case now.
Loved the mention about the trace of the house, that can be identified in this original fragrance, too.
As for Sebastian’s review, he isas methodical as ever, love the way he describes the layers this fragrance has. I haven’t tried anything from Jovoy yet, but there is still time.
    I’m living in Europe.

  • What a wonderful Fragrance review
Well done Sebastian that as art to the describe so well
You Can almost smell it thru thé screen
    Well done sir
My favorite from Jovoy is Psychédélique

Always excited about a new Jovoy. Sebastian made it sound like there are several nice twists to this one… would love to try it. My favorite still remains, Private Label! Writing from Pacific Northwest, US.

  • What I like about Michelyn’s introduction is that it’s short and informative. She described in one sentence what the fragrance is all about, whereas Sebastian gave a full review with all necessary technical details, e.i., how 21 Conduit Street starts, evolves, how it projects, which is very important. Thanks to Smelling Great I’ve discovered Pavillon Rouge and Remember Me, they are my current favourite Jovoy ones, and for some reason not that many youtubers are talking about them, those two ones are realy underestimated. I also like Incident Diplomatique and L’Arbre de la Connaissance, but not as much as Pavillon Rouge and Remember Me. In general, all Jovoy’s fragrances are masterpieces, the only problem is that you may not be a fan of that particular fragrance style. For instance, I’m 100% positive that La Liturgie des Heures is excellent work but for some reason I’m not getting along with incense so far.

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews, he does such a great job of describing scents. I love fir and ambroxam so it sounds like a perfume I would like. I liked this part of Michelyn’s review “Both Sebastian and I agree, what’s prominent and really special in 21 Conduit St. is the magnificent fir balsam accord-very green, and woodsy, as if you were in a forest, and an intoxicating, sexy trail of ambroxan at the base”. I do not have a favorite Jovoy Paris fragrance yet as I haven’t tried any yet.

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

I’ve never tried anything from Jovoy Paris. When Sebastian mentioned the green nature in the mid, it made me think of Polo Green which I used to rock back in the 90s. However, the addition of Ambroxan and Tonka Beans definitely modernizes it. I agree with Michelyn’s views on Ambroxan…I do enjoy the note. Appreciate the generosity of the giveaway. Best from Virginia, USA!

  • I enjoyed Sebastian s review and I learned about new niche house, I think Ambroxan woods will be the favo frag of mine if I got the chance to to try it. Im in Sweden EU.

  • Ricardo Mestre says:

It was through Sebastian that I have discovered my favourite fragrance ever: and that is the incredible Incident Diplomatique!
I also have Private Blend, that I love – and I am very tempted to buy Psychedelique.
I am curious about 21 Conduit Street after watching Sebastian’s review – I love woody fragrances, and Jovoy is my favourite fragrance house.

  • Another great review of Sebastian. Thank you, Michelyn for interesting information.
I like ambroxan in perfumery, when it added with good quality ingredients. This perfume sound very attractive- little lavender, fresh bergamot, little sweetness and creaminess of almond and tonka been, and finally fresh woodiness.
I like Private Label and Remember Me from Jovoy.

Greetings from Portugal! My favourite fragrance house is Jovoy, and I have discovered my favourite fragrance in the world through Sebastian reviews – I am talking about the incredible Incident Diplomatique.
I also have Private Blend and hopefully I will get a bottle of Psychedelique. All of these 3 fragrances are just incredible! Jovoy doesn’t know how to make fragrances that are less than stellar.
What really got me curious about 21 Conduit Street is that Sebastian mentions that “it’s like a walk in the woods”. Since I love that kind of scents (like Robert Piguet Bois Noir, or Mendittorosa North), I am really interested in getting to know another masterpiece from Jovoy :).

  • I really enjoyed how Sebastian described the nature and quality of the fragrance. He mentioned how the ambroxan mix very well with the woods makes it fresh like a fresh morning walk in the forest. Very appealing.

  • Not sure if it’s because of what I do , Pastry Chef, or just my mind works is a foodie way , but I relate all fragrances to some sort of food.
21 Conduit St. Instantly reminded me of eating Rhubarb Grapefruit Custard Pie
while having a walk in some pine forest.

I only know one Jovoy fragrance . Bought a sample of Incident Diplomatique because of… again Sebastian speaking highly about it literally all the time. Classy fragrance for special occasions. My girlfriend , bought me a bottle for my birthday.
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign

  • I was sold at “green and woodsy”. Had the opportunity to visit Jovoy in 2018 and if my memory serves, I was most fond of L’Arbre de la Connaissance and Gardez-Moi. Greetings from the US.

  • Sebastians reviews are not only entertaining but educating. Love his storytelling skills and detailed background info about ingredients. Can’t wait to get my nose on the newest Jovoy release 😉

  • Seb is super professional, I like the resemblance of 21 to Incident Diplomatique, my all-time favorite. Los Angeles.

  • I would love if Michelyn did a video WITH Sebastian! Sebastian always has such detailed and enthusiastic reviews. Michelyn’s introduction gives us a taste of the background of the fragrance and her brief opinion but I’d love to hear her discuss it with Sebastian! Their praise for the ambroxan drydown is not what I would have expected–I’m intrigued. I haven’t tried this house yet, they’ve been sitting on my must-sample list for some time now. Thanks for another great review/draw. I’m in the US.

  • I really enjoyed Sebastian’s review. It’s interesting how he described how whole scent is changing in this perfume, leaving at the end very interesting woody-ambroxan notes. I don’t own any Jovoy fragrances, but I would love to try this one!

  • Sebastian makes it very easy to relate to a fragrance – in today’s review, he included flashes of pictures of various notes as he read them out and I could especially smell the almonds and the fir balsam as the images flashed. I also can imagine that for someone to impress Francois Henin in perfumery as Oli Marlow did, they’d have to have crazy good skills 🙂 This is a great review and I’d be stoked to try out 21 Conduit Street. I’m in USA

  • Sebastian’s description succeeds in giving me a clear image of what I should expect, and Michelyn’s introduction serves as a nice summary and provides context. I heard about Jovoy many times but have yet to smell their works. (US)

  • Sebastian certainly stressed the fir balsam and the ambroxan in his review. I love the fir balsam note a great deal. I think I would enjoy this for my partner or for myself. Many thanks to Michelyn and to Sebastian for great reviews and many thanks to Jovoy Paris for making this draw possible. I’m in the USA

  • Amber and wood! What a lovely combination! Sexy in a forest, for me means natural and in touch with my self, my feminine part grounded.
I love Sebastian’s photo, it speaks to me and after watching the video, I consider it matches perfectly with the perfume.
I haven’t tried yet any Jovoy Paris fragrance. I live in Romania.

  • Anthony Sanders says:

This is a fragrance that i was thinking about getting but I am glad you mentioned Ambroxin as this is a problem. I am anosmic to Amboxin, I will have to go and test this first. My favourite Jovoy fragrance is Remember me. The warm cozey smell of milky tea is my favourite fragrances as the weather gets cooler.

  • Thanks for the review, team! I only know one fragrance from this house, but I would love to try others as well.

  • Sebastian always can sell a fragrance!! To be honest, when I heard walking into a forest with a sexy zing to it, I was sold!!! I can so relate to his review when you like a fragrance you just want to spray more!

Would be great to win this as we are in lockdown and would love to walk into a forest during those times, even if it is through wearing a great fragrance like that.

    I live in Belgium, EU.

  • Thanks for highlighting this event. I’ll have to keep an eye out for any future events at 21 Conduit Street. It would be lovely to meet master-perfumer Oli Marlow!

Great review by Sebastian. I find that his impressions are spot on and helps me to expand my collection with the best smelling perfumes.

I’m a big fan of the House of Jovoy and an ever bigger fan of fresh fragrances! This is just what I’ve been waiting for. I have many Oriental fragrances and really notice I miss a good, fresh Citrus/Woody fragrance.

My favorite fragrance from Jovoy Paris is the Patchouli heavy Incident Diplomatique.

    I live in the UK.

  • His reviews are always hines and very descriptive, and this type og fragrance is right up my alley, and I love the house especially psychedelic.

    Greetings from Denmark

  • I truly love Sebastian reviews. They are always full of detailed and insight information about the notes and concoctions of fragrances. His opinion is one that I always consider before I make my final fragrance purchase.
I still don’t own any Jovoy fragrances but I know I’ll in the near future. Commenting from Orlando, Fl.

  • I really loved how Sebastian emphasized how much the ambroxan is so prominent in the drydown. It sounds like a really intriguing fragrance with the mid note of balsam but how it then changes dramatically to the warm, ambroxan note. I’ve actually never tried any Jovoy scents before.
    I live in the USA.

  • I have not yet tried 21 Conduit St. , but make sure I will. Seeing Sebastian so excited is the main reason, with his experience i think you’ll get impressed quite rarely. Michelyn likes it too , a good sign too.
Let’s see the sexy trail of ambroxan, fir balsam and almonds all combined will work with my skin.
La Liturgie des Heures , Psychedelique , Les Jeux sont Faits Jovoy and Private Label are the Jovoy fragrances i have sampled back in April . La Liturgie des Heures review was done again by Dana , she likes Jovoy a lot 🙂 I like it , i mean La Liturgie des Heures, but unlike the others it stays really close to the skin . The other 3 are much stronger , i’m not sure if the concentration was different , or it’s just my opinion.
Les Jeux sont Faits i found to be the best smelling one of the four , $180 is what i paid for 100ml bottle from Luckyscent.
    Exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

  • Sebastian is one of the best reviewer about niche fragrances, and the introduction of Michelyn says everything about this creation.
I had the chance to try Private Label by Jovoy, that has been created by Cecile Zarokian. And i loved it.
    Hope to try this one

How Sebastian describes it as walking into a forest stressing on the quality of green woodsy notes mixed with intoxicating ambroxan makes me want to smell this perfume and own a bottle certainly. EU, Finland

  • Lovely review by Sebastian as always! He does an amazing job describing the scent and make it real for us viewers. Rhubarb, almond, ambroxen are some of my favorite notes. I have been eyeing this house but don’t own any fragrances yet. Based in the US

  • Thanks Michelyn and Sebastian for covering this! Your intro made me aware of Jovoy opening another store in London which I absolutely would have missed. Will definitely check it out once it’s safe to travel again. Well, and Sebastian’s reviews always get me instantly excited for fragrances, sometimes for ones I would otherwise not even consider. But since I love aromatic and woody fragrances anyway, I would love to try 21 Condiut St. I’ve sampled every Jovoy fragrance so far but only ever purchased one full bottle: Incident Diplomatique, which is also definitely my favourite fall fragrance.
Take care everyone! Greetings from Germany.
P.S.: Nice photos, Sebastian, they really complement the bottle 😉

  • Michael Prince says:

Michelyn, great intro about how the woody aromatic scent profile was dedicated to the store managers favorite notes, the fragrance was named after the address location of the newest store, and the greenness was created by the perfumer’s favorite Jovoy signature scent profile. This sounds like a beautiful green and woody fragrance with a nice fir balsam note and a nice ambroxan note for added depth. My favorite Jovoy Paris fragrance is Psychedelique. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • Thanks for another great review, Sebastian! I haven’t sampled any Jovoy fragrance yet and I’m excited to try this. I love Sebastian and Michelyn’s descriptions of like walking into a pine forest, zingy grapefruit note at the top and turns into a sexy ambroxan, fir balsam, green fragrance. Thanks for this opportunity! – CA, USA

  • Enjoyed Sebastian’s review. Know he is a fan of Jovoy Paris. Jovoy 21 sounds nice, I’d like to try this out. Thanks, Ca

  • That green note with the ambroxan must smell amazing. I love the DNA of the Jovoy fragrances, after Sebastian released his review on Incident diplomatique i hurried and sampled it and it truly was worth it. It s cool to see that Jovoy tries new things, as it s their first time using ambroxan, i m curious what they are going to come up next with.

  • Sebastian’s insight is so plentiful and his videos are just so fun to watch! This one was no different and I feel like I know exactly how 21 Conduit Street will smell, even though I haven’t even smelled it before. As for Michelyn’s introduction, I love how she explained how the name for the fragrance came to be as it was a striking feature of this fragrance that caught my attention before anything else. My favorite Jovoy has to be Psychedelique. Thank you for such an amazing draw, fingers crossed! Kind regards from Illinois, USA.

  • Jovoy is high on my list of perfumes to try I think I might have to buy the whole range! Sebastian speaks with such passion and every review I have read sings the praises! When I’m next in London, the shop is my first stop!!

I think I would first most like to try is Psychedelique.

  • Just like always – intriguing review, that leaves no other option just to add this perfume to my to-try list.
And Michelyn’s intro made me search for this instalive. Haven’t watched this before, thanks.
I am from the EU, Lithuania.

  • Sebastian can describe a fragrance so well that is is possible to imagine what it smells like. And this one sounds good from what Michelyn wrote as well. Jovoy has a consistent quality. Ambre Premier is the winner in my book. I live in Denmark, EU.

  • wandering_nose says:

Michelyn’s intro sets expectations as to the fragrance rather high and Sebastian’s review totally confirms the composition is outstanding. I appreciate how he walks us through the stages of the development of the composition and the most prominent notes and accords, painting a very evocative picture of the woodsy-resinous-aromatic dry-down. I am a fan of lavender, all balsams including the fir resin, and even more so of ambroxan so I would be honored to get the chance to enjoy this beauty. My favorite of the house of Jovoy Paris is Psychedelique. Based in Ireland

  • I am a beginner and still have a lot to study and understand, so what I like a lot about Sebastian’s reviews in general is that he is able to explain the fragrances with great mastery and competence and yet in a totally understandable way (and even for non-native speakers like me!). I especially loved when – talking about the lavender note – he mentioned a “gentlemen” scent: I immediately felt and understood what he meant, and was transported to St. James’s Street, in one of those gentlemen’s club! I’d love to try this fragrance, I am particularly keen on how the ambroxan comes out. I didn’t manage to try any of Jovoy’s fragrances yet, I will have to work hard on my knowledge.

  • Andrei Artimon says:

Really love the house , like and own many of they re offerings , by what sebastien is saying this is they re take on a summer freahie , nee york , usa .

  • Bryant Worley says:

I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews, as he is a good researcher of fragrances, and always gives a thorough (and sometimes enthusiastic) review of a fragrance – this being one of them. Michelyn is always good with the background and perfumers of fragrances, which is always enjoyable, because it draws you into the Fragrance more as you become familiar.

Currently, my favorite Jovoy is Incident Diplomatique`, an awesome scent.

I live in Waldorf, MD, USA.

  • patrick_348 says:

I have not tried any Jovoy fragrances, but this sounds like a great place to start. I loved Sebastian’s repeatedly contradicting himself–“It’s like other Jovoy fragrances but it’s not”; “It’s all about the ambroxan, but it’s not”–in a way that gives a sense of the experience of wearing it. And Michelyn’s positive words make me want to try it all the more. I am in the US, in NC.

  • It’s intriguing how transintion from grapfruity start goes to Private Label mood and then moves completely different direction. Judging by Seb’s review, it seems that it goes a lot in this fragrance.

My favourite is Private Label, however few others come really close.

    Greetings from Switzerland

  • WeAreScentient says:

I love how excited Sebastian is about this ambroxan trial, you know when he really loves something as theres an extra sparkle going on. Plus he’s definitely Jovoy’s number one fan! It was great for Michelyn to highlight how this was created. I’ve only tried Remember Me & its beautiful, definitely want to try more.
    All the best from Dublin!

  • Jovoy Paris is by far the best fragrance boutique i’ve ever been to-no US boutique comes even close .
Favorite Jovoy is Remember Me , i also have Incident Diplomatique . I’d also really like to get Ambre Premier .
If Michelyn calls 21 Conduit St. “magnificent, sexy and intoxicating” , Sebastian is overly excited about it i could only imagine what kind of special fragrance we have here ❤
    Thanks a lot

  • incensemaster says:

Sebastian’s review made me very excited to smell this fragrance. The combination of a citrus opening, and the woody/ambroxan dry down sounds like a wonderful evolving fragrance. Michelyn mentioned the fir-green part of it, which I would appreciate very much. I would love to be entered into this giveaway–looking forward to smelling this on my skin!

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews and have been wanting to try other Jovoy fragrances, my favorite is La Liturgie des Heures.

I’m a sucker for lavender in fragrances especially when blended in unexpected ways. I can already imagine how the fir notes will play with the top notes. That said, the ambroxan note for 21 Conduit St. is intriguing to me as it is a note that I am not very familiar with. Looking forward to experience this new release…

  • Sebastian just made me love this perfume, Woody+Ambroxan
Never tried any of Jovoy perfumes.
Thank you for your generosity and good luck all.

Thank you for the great review Sebastian.
I loved hearing about your love for this house and how ambroxan takes the helm in this fragrance.
I really like how woodsy this fragrance is and how it changes.

Michelyn – It was great to hear that everyone at CFB is a fan of this fragrance

I haven’t smelt anything from this house unfortunately.

  • I love the detail that Sebastian goes into with his fragrance reviews, and the way he describes the fragrance. 21 Conduit Street sounds intriguing and delicious and I can’t wait to try it! Remember me is currently my favourite Jovoy fragrance but there are many more I’ve yet to sample.

  • I decided to blind buy a pocket spray sample 21 Conduit from Max Aroma and it arrived today. It was definitely love at first whiff and just ordered a full size bottle (my 1st of many) I’m sure!
