Initio Parfums Prives Oud For Greatness NEO, Side Effect and Paragon + 3 for Fall 2024 giveaway

Best Initio Parfums Prives for Fall 2024 Oud for Greatness NEO, Side Effect and Paragon

With Fall approaching on the 22nd, it’s time to change up your fragrance game. Fall is the opportunity to wear perfumes you just can’t bring yourself to wear in the heat of summer. It’s a mindset – as the air gets cooler, Steven and I turn to more serious scents, many of them with spice. In this co-curated list of the three Intito Parfums Prives you should be wearing for Fall, we went back and forth, because the brand has many that have an autumnal vibe. Here are our three for fall 2024 (each from a different collection):

Initio Parfums Prives Oud For Greatness NEO was released in 2024. It retains the DNA of the original, but is brighter with bergamot, which lifts the oud. The saffron adds a spiciness and hint of leather. From the Black Gold Project –Michelyn

Notes: Bergamot Oil, Lavendar Oil Orpur, Saffron, Balsam Fir, Oud Oil, Agarwood

Initio Parfums Prives Side Effect is a boozy, sweetly-spiced resinous perfume that ticks all the boxes for a great Fall fragrance, with its warm base of leather and tobacco. And, there’s the Hedione. Some scientific studies claim that Hedione is responsible for the release of pheromones (perhaps that is the “side effect” and why Intitio Parfums Prives Side Effect is part of the Carnal collection).- Michelyn

Notes: Cinnamon Bark, Rum, Tobacco, Saffron, Sandal Wood, Hedione

Plummy, woody, spicy with light incense weaving throughout, Initio Parfums Prives Paragon is the most versatile, (IMHO) of the three and both Steven and I agree it is our favorite. In cooler weather, it can be worn, anywhere and for any occasion.  If any perfume is embodiment of John Keats’ poem To Autumn, it’s Paragon. “Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness” in a bottle.  From the Hedonist collection.-Michelyn

Note: Paragon was a Top 10 Perfume 2022 for Karl, Steven and Olya

Notes: Bergamot, White Sage, Lavender, Plum, Palo Santo, Black Pepper, Sandalwood, Agarwood

  • If I won I would choose paragon because of its lavender note. I love lavender! I feel Steven and Michelyns selections are great I’ve heard of paragon and side effect before but I never heard of oud for greatness neo. I think side effect woukd work well in winter as well. Either way they all look good and I’d be very happy to win! Thanks.

  • Alicia Robles says:

STEVEN’S review was amazing he definitely made me go and smell the new oud for greatness that I didn’t know was released specially with that bergamot note he sad it had. Michelle discribes side effect amazingly. I do not agree with both with their top like paragon. I definitely believe that side effect is number one for fall! With that said I would definitely love to get side effects since it’s my number 1 choice.

  • Definitely interested in Oud for Greatness NEO….love the original and adding bergamot sounds fantastic!!

  • I love Side Effect, I’ve had decants but would love a full bottle. Just like Steven I’ve always gotten compliments when I wear it. Michelyn mentioned the poem To Autumn and I love plum, I would love to win Paragon.

    USA

  • Great video and article, with well chosen scents for Autumn. These sound wonderful for cooler weather that we are entering here in the western U.S. While all of the fragrances sound amazing, I am most interested in Paragon.

  • Johann Martin says:

Side effect i like presentation and style of the bottle, and as the name suggests i hope it deliver that everlastingly good side effect. Can’t wait to win to find out

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Initio is a brand that I have wanted to sample for some time. They seem to have multiple dark, sophisticated fragrances that could be signature scents. I really appreciate the comparison by Steven and Michelyn. I’ve said previously that Autumn is my favorite season and this curated list definitely speaks to all the great aspects of this time of year. I am most drawn to Oud for Greatness Neo; I’d really enjoy having it in my collection. Thanks for the generosity of the giveaway! Many blessings from Virginia, USA!

  • Great Choices. I own paragon and wear it on the cooler days, side side effect is great for cool nights. Ive not smelled psychedelic love yet. Initio is so artfully crafted. I wore atomic rose as its quite warm where i live. I was just running errands so I only wore a single spray and it has lasted now 5 hours. I would love to get my nose on neo!

  • Frankly, Initio is one of the best fragrance houses out there in my opinion. I specifically gravitate towards their Carnal collection with Side Effect and the boozy Narcotic Delight. I actually agree with both Steven and Michelyn that Paragon is the most versatile, but I am not a fan of the lavender note in there. I would have liked to see Narcotic delight up there as part of the selection but it is too similar to side effect so that would have made the selection unfair 🙂

Also, I disagree with Steven that Oud for Greatness is a winter-only fragrance as I sometimes wear similar perfumes in the summer (I am originally middle eastern so that is no surprise!). However, Oud for Greatness Neo is indeed much more suited for the fall as it is a wonderfully spicy-fresh version of the OG. I actually prefer the Neo to the old one.

Thank you Michelyn and Steven for this list and giveaway opportunity. I would love to win Side Effect and kickstart my Initio journey. I also follow Steven and this blog on instagram @laithaldahshan

    Cheers!

  • Garth G Wright says:

Oud For Greatness checks all the boxes when it comes to a fall and winter fragrance. You really don’t need anything else!

  • Great reviews as always! And wonderful choices for the cooler weather. I love the Initio house and Rehab is an all time fave. I’ve not gotten my nose in any of these, but dying to try them. I think Paragon is the one for me, but all three have my interest hugely piqued!

  • A great house with a great selection of scents each from a different collection. Oud for Greatness Neo it’s the softer sister to the original with the addition of the bergamot added. Side Effect with the hedione note sets it apart from the rest of the collection, and maybe even gets you in the mood. Paragon is truly a fall staple out of these three and like Michelyn said I do agree it’s pretty versatile. From Steven’s ranking, I’d trade spots with Side Effect and Neo and still keep Paragon as number one for a fall driven list. That palo santo note just hits the spot for me. I follow CaFleureBonOfficial on IG and my username is Ramses.d.perez. Should I win, I’d live to get Side Effect as it is one that has been on my radar for a bit. I’m located in the USA

  • jacoblegarreta says:

How could we go wrong with any of these Steven’s and Michelin’s selections? But, if I had to choose only one, I’m going with the scientifically backed molecule that lights up the pleasure centers in the brain in SIDE EFFECT! Not to mention the blend sounds absolutely captivating.

  • Margarita Hristova says:

I really like both Steven’s and Michelyn’s selections. I would like to win Side Effect which can be seen as a side effect both to summer and winter, hence the most appropriate weather to wear it is fall. :)))

  • Nathaniel Vargas says:

Side effect definitely has me intrigued and would love to try it during the fall season especially since my birthday is towards the end of October.

  • neal_buatti@yahoo.com says:

I understand the picks the pair made but I would have picked a Narcotic Delight over Side Effect personally. But overall a nice fall list. If I was to win I would very much like to have Paragon. My IG handle is @Nealbuatti

  • If I was to win I would definitely pick Oud for Greatness Neo or Side Effect I purchased Atomic Rose based on Stevens’ review of it and love it plus so either one would be a welcome addition to the collection.

  • I agree these three are heavy hitters, and perfect for the colder weather. I love deep spicy fragrances for the winter, and would pick Paragon, as it is Steven and Michelyn’s favorite. I am in the US.

  • I would love to get my hands on a full bottle of Oud for Greatness. Thanks for the opportunity to be able to participate.

  • Mauricio Fonnegra says:

Side effects will be my option, and for long I have loved initio perfumes they are reach, bold and intriguing, some time mysterious, STEVE reviews are always great the experience is like you were able to smell the scent just by hearing the descriptions.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s and Michelyn’s reviews of their fall Initio’s picks. They have me ready for autumn vibe fragrances. I would go for Steve’s number two pick Initio Side effect. As Michelyn said it ticks all the boxes for a great fall fragrance. Cinnamon, boozy, tobacco with all the side effects 😉

  • Michelyn and Steven’s review were impressive to say the least. I’ve heared a lot of good things and watched countless reviews about the new Oud for Greatness NEO. As a student, I can never really get the chance to have a deeper understanding of the fragrances I’m interested in because of fhe price tag. My mom owns Side Effect though, and I have a clone of it, it’s a great fragrance for the Fall but for me, Oud for Greatness NEO takes the cake!

  • Great review. I am very interested in Oud for Greatness Neo. I have Paragon and getting Side Effect next. It will be hard which one to pick if I’m drawn.

  • I absolutely love this channel as I need to be pointed to the right direction before purchasing any fragrance and they are just so informative and helpful.
    My insta is gina_c_dar
and I’d love to have a bottle of Paragon

  • Munaverali Gulamhusein says:

    Amazing fragrance Oud for greatness
I have been stopped and asked what are you wearing it smells so good.this is the beast of fragrance my favorite

  • Great review on all 3 Fragrances from Michelyn & Steven.I do agree Fall is a time to wear spicy , Oud , stronger notes with the cooler weather.I do like how they both agreed on
Paragon being the most versatile and can be for any occasion. I really love the lavender note. I would pick Paragon if I was to win. Thank you for this chance USA

  • If I won I would have to go for Side Effect. I have a decant of it and I have a few bottles of the clone but can’t swing the OG yet.

I always watch Steven’s reviews as my wife enjoys his perspectives on men’s and women’s fragrances. Both written and YouTube opinions are spot on with Side Effect. I can’t contribute on the other two.

  • I think the choices are great, however in my opinion they lean more masculine. I would add Side Effects for those who want more unisex/ fem perfumes. However, I love Initio House, all of their creations are outstanding. If I won I would love to get Side Effects. It does play nicely with the pheromones 🙂
    Thank you!

  • I think the reviews are spot on, and Side Effect is one of the best fragrances I have ever gotten my nose on (personally Atomic Rose is my favorite Initio Parfums Prives fragrance with Side Effect a close second).

    @epadcock

  • I found Michelyn’s mention of hedione potentially releasing pheromones to be quite interesting. As a psychologist, that is something I will enjoy reading about later tonight. Side Effect is, after all, the one I would choose from these three. Paragon is lovely, but I have a large decant of it and it’s a bit too fruity for my liking. Oud for Greatness Neo is really good too, but I like the original better. Side Effect is one that I have not tried yet, but have heard lots of great things about. I love a boozy frag in the fall, and Michelyn said it ticks all the right boxes for the season. Steven lauded its excellent performance and called it one of his all-time faves, so it sounds like a winner to me. I’d definitely love to give it a shot. Thank you for the opportunity, and best of luck to everyone. I live in NC, USA.

  • Great choices overall! Well thought out. Side Effect is on my wish list right now. I just got a decant of the Neo so I am excited to try that out as well.

  • I thought they were great choices. I like all of them.
As for what I would choose?
She loves Side Effect, and I love her. So it’s side effect.

  • Paul_Unlimited says:

If I were to win the drawing, I would choose Initio Paragon. Both reviews from Steven and Michelyn were great. I have been following Steven’s channel for years now.

  • Wow, what a fantastic selection for Fall 2024! Steven and Michelyn really nailed it with their picks. I love how they emphasized the transition to cooler weather, where richer, spicier scents really shine. Oud for Greatness NEO sounds like a perfect twist on the original, especially with that bergamot to brighten the oud — definitely on my radar. But I have to say, Paragon has me the most intrigued. The blend of plum, Palo Santo, and sandalwood feels like the perfect embodiment of autumn. I’m a sucker for versatility, and the way you both describe it as wearable anytime, anywhere, really speaks to me. If I were lucky enough to win, Paragon from the Hedonist Collection would definitely be my choice. Thanks for the awesome breakdowns and this amazing giveaway!

  • I love initio brand for their strong, long lasting fragrances. I am currently using their Oud for greatness and side effects and I would love to try “Paragaon” as Steve from Redolesence suggested as his # 1 fall fragrances.

  • If I won the drawing I’d without a doubt choose Side Effect. That scent is so alluring and simply addicting. I think Steven and Michelyn both made incredible points in their videos and I found their perspectives fascinating. I also follow this page on instagram @ dominic_vazquez07

  • Matthew Thompson says:

Steven’s videos are always a go to when I want to learn about expanding my niche journey. I feel like I could sit and talk hours if I just mentioned notes to him while he digs out ideas in his awesome collection! I really love the descriptions as they are really thorough and makes me want to try review he breaks down. Michelyn confirms my curiosity on how I want to try Side Effect and Paragon! If I had to choose one, I would pick your favorite in Paragon! Plum notes sound so delicious!! Thank you kindly for the opportunity!
    IG: twokooltoupee

  • Oh, darling, Steven’s review was simply extraordinary—his enthusiasm for the new Oud for Greatness, particularly with that delightful bergamot note he mentioned, was positively infectious. Michelyn description of Side Effect was also quite impressive, though I must say, I find myself at odds with their choice of Paragon as a top contender. Clearly, Side Effect reigns supreme for fall; it’s truly my top pick. Naturally, I can’t wait to add it to my collection—it simply deserves a place of honor!

  • Steven and Michelyn’s views were spot on! I have not tried any of the Initio fragrances, but Side Effect would be my #1 choice as it would be perfect for the Fall and Winter, and is long lasting.

  • Blake Lieffers says:

I have samples of OFG, Side Effect, and Rehab, and I love all of them. OFG is one of my favorites, so if I won, I would pick OFG Neo. I’m interested to smell the differences between the two. Stephen’s reviews are always detailed and informative, and Michelyn’s notes were an insightful read.
    Thanks for the giveaway!
    Insta: blake_lieffers

  • These are great offerings for fall. I’ve tested Paragon and it is that good. Looking forward to sampling the new OFG flanker.

  • I’d love to own a bottle of side effect because it’s the brands most iconic fragrance, and one that seems to be the entry fragrance for most enthusiasts. I think Steven and Michelyn were correct when they say Initio has so many great fall fragrances. Ig: @MeetChrisDavis

  • Vanessa Wichmann says:

Paragon- plummy, woody, incense … and viscous! I’d like to know what viscous is… sounds fantastic

  • I am excited to put in for the drawing of great fragrances I would love to own Oud for greatest neo the oud smells so great and projection is masterful!

  • Thank you Steven for always providing us with quality content.
I remember his old video on OFG Neo a few months back, sounded amazing then and now sounds even better

  • I’ve been wanting to get my nose on Oud for Greatness- so since its launch. Seems like a great bridge for Spring and early Fall. All three of these are fantastic Fall selections with scents that envelope you for hours. However, of the three there’s one that is the “embodiment” or “Paragon” of Fall, and that is indeed Paragon. This has become a favorite for almost any time and setting. And wifey loves it on me so I mean that’s an immediate win! 🙂 Paragon would hands-down be my choice. Cheers from Ohio! 🙂 Following on Insta as fresh_and_delicious.

  • Jae Harris Johnson says:

First, I am happy to know that I am in good company with Michelyn and Steven because Paragon is my favorite of those three stunning fragrances. I have a small decant of it and I truly feel like the scent is versatile and truly dynamic in cooler environments. So, I agree with both of them there. Moreover, I similarly like to think of fragrance as olfactive poetry, so Michelyn’s mention of the John Keats poem made me smile.

Great video and truly thoughtful selections!

And, after that testimony, it should come as no surprise that I choose Paragon as my selection if I were to win this generous contest.

  • Krista Mitchell says:

I’d love to try Side effect! Michelyn described it so well, I’m so intrigued. And Our for greatness sounds amazing as well, Stevens receive really makes me want to try this! Thanks for the opportunity

  • Andres Garza B says:

I really liked the selections from Steven and Michelyn due that their words of how they speak of the fragrance is very appealing to the reader, and also how they made research with Side Effect that hedione is responsible for the liberation of pheromones. The Neo I have not tried yet but it sounds very interesting that is a brighter version of OFG, and I completely agree that Paragon is the most versatile, I have tried Side Effect and Paragon through decants and I fell in love with them, but the one that got me hooked was Side Effect that is the reason that if I would have to pick one will be Side Effect because it is a great inversion to make at this moment, thank you for sharing this blog! Keep doing it.

  • I love Steven’s review of OfG Neo and how it is described as brighter and lighter, which I agree. I was able to smell it and I think both Steven and Michelyn did not address the green and earthy aspect that I smelled along with a potential lavender note. Of course everyone’s nose can smell fragrances differently but this was something that stood out for me in Neo that separated it quite a bit from the original, whilst still retaining that DNA. I have not tried Side Effect or Paragon so I cannot comment on Steven or Michelyn’s review of such but the sweet spicy aspect of Side Effect described by Michelyn makes it sound enticing, but both Steven and Michelyn prefer Paragon as their favorite, and it seems more unique out of the bunch with that deep plum note not commonly found in fragrances. I’d love to get my nose on it and try it out for myself. Thanks!

  • Sebastian M Wilson says:

Steven has very great tastes with paragon, that’s the one I would love to have after sampling it. I think it’s a wonderful dark scent with that plum and woody spice of palo santo, and that woodiness gives it a great autumn feel. Also Michelyn put me onto neo which I tried at dillard’s and I found it to be very unique while my friends find it very impressive and “haven’t smelt anything like it.” But paragon is what really blows me away from initio which I feel like is not only good for autumn but as a general signature as well. Thanks for the opportunity!!!
    Insta: swhasclass

  • Steven is one my most trusted reviewers. He is knowledgeable and I think we usually like the same type of notes and fragrances.
I agree with him that Side Effect is one of the best options for autumn, but Initio has so many amazing options that you cannot go wrong. Autumn is my favourite season and I cannot wait to wear my favourite perfumes!

  • Michelle, thank you for the saucy intro and Steve for sobering us back up 🙂 I wondered why Side effect hit me hardest of the 5 Initios I’ve tried and now realize it must be the hedione. I’m tempted to try out Parragon that you both chose but I’ll still go for Side Effect that I’ve loved from the first sniff. I’m in USA

  • I havent tried these yet but I do have High Frequency and used to have Musk Therapy and Atomic Rose until my friend begged me for them! lol I love the magnolia note they used. I don’t agree with Steven about Oud being a winter note, I feel like ouds can really come alive in the heat. But I have not tried Oud for Greatness. I looove plum so if I were to win this give away I’d choose Paragon. I am in California.

  • I almost always watch Stevens reviews as I try to get a daily dose of Fragrance content to expand and increase my knowledge of scent profiles and how different fragrances execute different olfactory experiences. I enjoyed what he said about side effect providing an almost nostalgic feeling. That probably goes into the Hedione that Michelyn mentioned in her review. Couple that with the tobacco note that I’ve never really picked up on, my interest in side effect has been renewed so for that reason I would probably elect Side Effect if I won.

  • I always love reading and watching videos regarding new fragrances! I would LOVE to try the new Oud for Greatness NEO!!!

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

This is an exciting give away. Steven’s reviews are always great and he does a great job talking about how neo compares to the original. Michelyn makes side effect sound warm and comforting. I would be torn between those two but would ultimately like to win neo. I live in Indiana.

  • Stephen J. Selgra says:

Steven always provides some of the most insightful and honest reviews online and Michelyn clearly has a passion and discernment that compliment’s Stevens’ professionalism.
Both reviews make this a very difficult selection but I believe I would choose Paragon.
Thank you Cafluerebon for allowing for this and thank you redolessence for your contribution as well.

  • I can’t say much about the selections as I haven’t smelled any of them. From the written portion though I am most interested in the Paragon. The video also has me leaning towards the Paragon. For the draw I choose Paragon. US

  • Oud for Greatness Neo would be a dream for me! I’ve coveted this fragrance for some time now and I would be ecstatic to have it in my wardrobe! Thank you for the draw, and great video Steven..

  • Oud for Greatness Neo would be a dream for me! I’ve coveted this fragrance for some time now and I would be ecstatic to have it in my wardrobe! Thank you for the draw, and great video Steven..

  • I absolutely love y’alls description of initios paragon and as a huge plum fan i would love to win that versatile and smooth piece. It would be such an honor y’all are amazing can’t wait to hear and see more from y’all!

    I would like Inito’s Paragaon

  • Initio has always been a favorite house.
I would choose Paragon if selected.
    Thanks for the giveaways.

  • This was a hard choice because Steven explained each fragrance in such detail and with great passion that I now want all 3 haha…but then reading Michelyn’s review it made it easy to decide on the “versatile and top 10” scent Paragon! If I were to win this fragrance I would be really excited that I could wear it in fall but also show how grateful I am and save it for the other seasons as well. Really happy I found this channel and blog 🙂 IG followed- lolab______

  • redwheelbarrow says:

I agree with Michelyn that fall fragrances are a mindset and the scents are my favorite part of fall. I did not know that hedione is showed to release pheromones. How interesting! I agree with Steven that cinnamon evokes fall. I’m not sure how I’ve never sampled Side Effect. Interesting to leard Paragon is Steven’s favorite of the three. If I were to win I would chose Side Effect because I’m a sucker for a good tobacco fragrance. From the US

  • Sebastian Rodriguez says:

Steven’s and Michelyn reviews are always on point and very reliable, safe to say I actually buy most if not all my fragrances because of y’all. And if i were to win this giveaway id have a hard time choosing between paragon and side effect because both are so incredibly good.

  • Dakota Steven-Julian Chang says:

I really like both Steven and Michelyn’s reviews. They explain well what to expect from the fragrances with NEO they explain the differences between it and the original. For side effect and paragon they cover both fragrances in detail and give a good picture on what to expect. For me if i won i would select the Side Effect fragrance as I am a fan of boozy and tobacco based fragrances

  • oscarfarfanjr says:

I first discovered Initio Parfums Privés through Steven’s captivating video reviews, and I immediately fell in love with Oud for Greatness. Steven’s passion for fragrances really shines through in his content, and it’s what drew me to explore this brand. I’m excited to see Oud for Greatness NEO as one of the fall picks. Michelyn’s description of how it retains the DNA of the original while brightening it with bergamot sounds incredibly appealing. It’s fascinating to see how Initio has evolved this beloved scent.
While Oud for Greatness holds a special place in my heart, I’m intrigued by all three selections. Side Effect’s boozy, spicy notes seem perfect for crisp autumn days, and Paragon’s versatility and plummy notes sound delightful. I appreciate how both Michelyn and Steven have highlighted different aspects of each fragrance, giving a well-rounded view of what makes these scents stand out for fall.
If I were fortunate enough to win, I’d love to experience Oud for Greatness NEO. It would be amazing to compare it to the original and experience this new interpretation of a scent I already adore. Initio’s craftsmanship continues to impress me, and I’m grateful to both Steven and Michelyn for sharing their expertise on these fall fragrances.

  • Great reviews by both, especially Steven. I’ve been meaning to get Paragon for a while now so I’d like to choose Paragon for the giveaway and my insta name is topkek40.

  • 3 heavy hitters from Initio…. One of so many from the house.

Oud for Greatness Neo is one I would like to try, and hopefully to win.
As much fun summer is, autumn is a season for fragrances like these 3.

    From Massachusetts, USA

  • I honestly didn’t think I’d care for Paragon after seeing the note breakdown, but I got a free sample of it in an order (can’t remember which place) and it has become one of my favorites. It’s my default “office” scent. I very much would love to try Side Effect and Oud for Greatness next!

  • Steven and Michelyn have made wonderful choices for their Fall lineup. I am a fan of all three fragrances and would love to receive a bottle of Paragon. Initio took the brand to a new level when they released Paragon. What a gem!!!

  • Devry DelHoyo says:

I have not smelled Oud for Greatness Neo, but definitely agree with the other two picks. I love Side Effect. There is nothing like wearing a boozy fragrance in the fall. It just evokes that cozyness that I’m looking for as the weather changes.

  • I received the Initio Parfums Prive hedonist initiation set as a gift and got a chance to try Paragon. I love lavender and tend to like scents that feature palo santo and sandalwood. I agree with Michelyn that it’s very versatile and a perfect Fall scent. I see it’s Steven’s favorite as well. I would love to own a full bottle. MD, USA.

  • Nice fall giveaway! Michelyn mentions how as Fall/Winter approaches there’s a mindset or I like to say mindshift in our fragrance picks as the cooler weather rolls in.

I would go with Oud for Greatness NEO. I liked the DNA of the original so I’m very curious as to what this new one is all about.

I like that Steven said that Oud for Greatness NEO is unique even though it’s a flanker to Oud for Greatness. It enough for me to one to try it & see what stands out in this version. Thanks

  • And, there’s the Hedione. Some scientific studies claim that Hedione is responsible for the release of pheromones (perhaps that is the “side effect” and why Intitio Parfums Prives Side Effect is part of the Carnal collection).- Michelyn

It could be the hedione, or the quality sustainably sourced ingredients, or maybe the perfumers ,but as a vain man i can say one thing for absolute certainly , all Initio Parfums Prives fragrances are highly seductive and appreciated by the ladies, clubs , concerts, dates , they just work.
The bergamot and lavender, spicy and woody aspects are all so appealing to me,and the overall freshness will give NEO slightly more modern feel in comparison to original Oud For Greatness.
In Paragon I like the incense, creamy woody feel , lavender and the plum , beautiful thick and rich fragrance . Not sure why both Steven and Michelyn are not smelling the incense in Paragon?? My sample smells really smoky…
With Side Effect I’ll get a lot of positive attention, smelling amazing. The boozy , sweet and resinous tobacco touches will give the fragrance modern vibe , making it more enigmatic , the fragrance i’d like to win the most
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA

  • Chris Mugavero says:

Both reviews are spot on with the exception that Paragon is the top choice. The Hedonist collection never had anything that suited me. Side Effect is definitely geared for that season in my opinion. But scent will always be subjective. Personally if granted the opportunity I would go with Oud for Greatness Neo, adding bergamot to something already amazing is bound to make it even better. NJ USA

  • In my opinion these are top tier choices for the fall due to their spiciness and overall richness. I agree with Michelyn that Paragon could be worn in the cooler months although I believe that it is so well blended and rich it could be worm all year round (maybe not mid Summer.) Steven said it best that it is the “paragon example of fall fragrance .” I would like to win Side Effect. It is the perfect boozy fragrance.

  • LuRon Anderson says:

I am very pleased with the frangrances Michelyn selected. Fall is my favorite season for fashion and fragrance! I was wooed by her description of Side Effect and Paragon.
I can’t help but love Steven’s reviews! He has such a gift for describing the “olfactory landscape” the fragrances invoke.
Were I to win the giveaway I would be honored to accept Paragon as I am in love with the note of plum in the fall and winter.

  • What I loved most about this article and video were the fall-perfect picks from Initio Parfums Prives. Oud for Greatness Neo sounds amazing with its brighter twist on the original, thanks to the bergamot lift. Side Effect caught my attention with its warm blend of rum, tobacco, and leather—perfect for cozy evenings. But Paragon is the standout for me. Its mix of plum, sandalwood, and Palo Santo feels like autumn in a bottle—rich, versatile, and full of warmth. If I had to choose, Paragon would be my go-to for the season!

  • What I loved most from the article and video was how Oud for Greatness Neo, Side Effect, and Paragon were highlighted as the perfect fall picks. Oud for Greatness Neo stood out for its freshness with bergamot lifting the richness of oud, making it a great update for cooler days. Side Effect feels like the ultimate cozy scent with its boozy rum, tobacco, and leather combination, while the touch of Hedione adds that sensual edge. But Paragon is the one that truly captured me—it’s versatile, warm, and rich with plum and sandalwood, evoking everything I love about autumn. Definitely my top pick!

  • I am really starting to get more into Initio perfumes. I think when I started my fragrance journey last year Initio perfumes were too complex for my nose.
For example Saffron in Side effect smelled rubbery. But now, as my nose has changed and been exposed to new scents, I am enjoying these more complex fragrances.
Steven’s overview of paragon intrigued me with his description of Paragon. I have never smelled it and trying to visualize a viscous scent is challenging for me but I appreciate the descriptive words. Plum and clary sage seem to counter balance each other. Michelyn stating it’s the most versatile really makes me want to smell it more. I’m not sure how the different accords that make up paragon can be the most versatile. I’m also interpreting versatile as easiet to wear.. and maybe that’s an incorrect assumption on my part.
I’d love a bottle of paragon to be able to explore how these accords make up the perfume. I also am following the cafleurebon IG page, my handle is twokays13.

  • I’ve seen Steven talk about Paragon many times over the years so I know that he loves that one a lot so I wasn’t surprised when I saw that you both agree that that is your favorite of the three. Definitely one I would want to sample first before committing to a full bottle. Side effect I have tried and found that it goes extremely sweet on my skin but I do agree with you both that it is a prototypical fall scent type. Interesting point you made about it possibly being named side effect because of the so called “side effect” of hedione. Because of that I would choose OFG Neo. I, like most people, enjoyed the original and most people including Steven think the extra bergamont in the opening makes it a little more versatile and upbeat.

  • Steven as always give masterclass reviews, he is amazing. These picks are the essence of the house initio. Side effect is my favorite from the house and I can’t wait to add Paragon to my collection one day, smells amazing.

  • I personally enjoy Oud For Greatness a lot, and since I’m almost out, it would be great to get a giveaway to replace my empty bottle with a new one. However, I haven’t smelled the other two fragrances from Initio, and I would be more than happy to try them, especially now that we’re entering fall. The fact that this new version of Oud For Greatness has more bergamot notes is exciting. I love bergamot and citrus fragrances!

Oh my gosh, the Initio Side Effect fragrance sounds amazing! Saffron, rum, cinnamon, vanilla. Those are all my favorite notes, especially saffron and rum. I absolutely love fragrances with those particular notes. And as for the Buzziness? Are you kidding me? Please, I would love to try that fragrance!
I really enjoy Redolessence’s reviews. Every time I post on this website, I mention that I always check Redolessence’s reviews before buying a new fragrance.

  • Steven’s and Michelyn’s reviews of these fragrances are much needed in the community. With Initio being one of the most prevalent niche brands, there are a lot of people being drawn into the fragrances this company produces. With that being said, Oud for Greatness Neo would be my first choice. As an already huge fan of Oud for Greatness, I would be thrilled to try out the relatively new Neo. Big thanks for giving us all the opportunity with this giveaway!!

  • If I were to win I would love to have a bottle of Paragon! The plum and palo santo combination in that scent is hypnotizing. I Michelyn and Steven’s lists are great. I was slightly surprised Steven’s list had Side Effect only at number two. To me it is one of the best fragrances ever created and deserves number one. It is such a captivating and addictive smell that I believe can be worn 3 seasons of the year.l but is especially captivating during those colder months. Michelyn’s description included Side Effect as well and also put the spotlight on hedione which is an ingredient I wasn’t aware could possibly have a pheromone influence on people who smell it.It makes sense why me and my girlfriend are so obsessed with the smell! I will also follow the Cafleurebon Instagram page. My Instagram handle is CoachSterling. Thanks!

  • I admit this is a new house for me and I’ve not tried any of these scents but WOAH and I now intrigued after reading Michelin’s review and watching Steven’s review. I agree that Paragon sounds like a versatile fragrance – I tend to try not to put a season on particular notes or fragrances- but these do seem like witchy, seductive autumn scents.

If chosen, I’d love to try Side Effect!
I am located in the U.S.

  • I love how Steven and Michelyn selected these perfumes so you can fully experience the house through the season. Oud for greatness NEO for summer/fall, Side effect for mid fall and Parago for fall/winter. Definitely makes me experience changing of the season with these perfumes. I haven’t tried Paragon and I’d love to have it in my collection and try it this coming fall/winter.

  • Brent Anderson says:

I’ve only had the opportunity to smell one of these fragrances, that being Side Effect. I agree that it is a great fall scent with the cinnamon note. My decant ran out last winter, so a full bottle of Side Effect would be perfect. I’m excited for fall and these darker scents!

  • The oud for greatness neo is something I’ve had my eye on for a while. It’s rich long-lasting and well blended from what I hear. Steven always gives us unbiased reviews and brings positive attention to this house. This is allegedly much greener and a very aromatic scent. The brightness should be uplifting and a welcomed addition to any collection. From Jacksonville, NC

  • Definitely not very big on the idea of Hedione and potential compliment it brings , the most important thing to me is how the fragrance smells and if it makes me feel good.
☆ Both original Oud For Greatnes and Oud For Greatness NEO i don’t know. Steven’s and Michelyn takes on NEO made me think of dressed up occasions fragrance, woody-spicy and leathery.
☆ Side Effect to me smells similar to Vanilla Bean and Cinnamon Bundt Cake , drizzled with Rum. Like Steven i don’t smell much of a tobacco.
☆ Paragon is versatile to me too , but I’m Pastry Chef after all , it’s quite sweet on my skin. I believe it smells like I’m eating Japanese Ume Cake , drinking bergamot juice, while sitting on a wooden bench somewhere in Japanese countryside, with some lavender scent also detectable in the air.
I’d like to win Side Effect
Appreciate both reviews , and the giveaway campaign

  • PerfumesforLife says:

Fall is my favorite season. I like Michelyn short descriptions. I was intrigued about her description of side effects notes of boozy and resinous notes. Steven’s video was excellent and I got the idea like I was smelling the fragrances live. I am intrigued by Oud for Greatness Neo and I would choose it if I win. I like the addition of citrus notes to dark notes and I think it will be perfect for fall !!!! Perfect.

  • I know 5 Initio Parfums fragrances in total Side Effect , Oud for Greatness, my favorite Oud for Happiness, Atomic Rose and Psychedelic Love , the new Oud For Greatness NEO and Paragon i haven’t smelled yet.
I like how how Steven and Michelyn spoke of the zesty bergamot and the whispers of leather in NEO , energetic fragrance that according to Michelyn retains the DNA of the original.
Pheromones effects of Hedione i was not aware of, good to know. Side Effect is right up my alley fragrance, not overly aggressive , cozy , slightly sweet with round up characteristics fragrance, with the right amounts of rum , tobacco and Hedione.
Paragon plummy , woody and spicy cool weather characteristics I find attractive, light incense is always welcomed.
Out of the three Initio Parfums Prives Fall recommendations I’d like to win Side Effect the most
Thank you Michelyn, Steven , Initio Parfums Prives

  • Both the video and the article made excellent points as why the favorites were selected. I love the note breakdowns and vivid descriptions. I would select Paragon if I were a winner, just like the article and video. USA.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Through the years I have never been misled by Steven or Michelyn’s thoughts on fragrances. Their in-depth reviews have been priceless during my olfactive journey. Thank you both!

When it comes to Initio Parfums Prive, Side Effect and Paragon are at the top of my list with this house. However, out of all fairness, Oud For Greatness was the catalyst for my love of this house. The addition of a fresh citrusy note at the top of this wonderful NEO creation, has put this at the top of my “Must Have” list.
This makes my choice very easy when it comes to this fabulous giveaway. Should I be chosen, my choice is Oud For Greatness Neo.

  • Fall came earlier this year, it’s pouring out last few days , but fragrances like Initio Parfums Prives Oud For Greatness NEO, Side Effect and Paragon could warm everyone up in the Fall.
Of course I’m aware of how big of a fragrance Oud for Greatness is, and the cult-like following is a nice way to put it , but in reality I’ve never smelled it, not yet at least. I feel enthusiastic about Oud for Greatness NEO , gently spicy , woody ,leathery fragrance i need to know.
Nice Paragon smells exactly like I thought it would smell. It’s interesting how before even reading Michelyn review , and watching Steven’s YouTube video I was wondering if Paragon would share some similarities with Rehab, one of the other two Hedonist fragrances. I’m happy for the addition of plum , black pepper in Paragon.
Well made fragrance, with both spicy, boozy , sweet, resinous and woody elements. I love the way Michelyn and Steven described it , Side Effect sounds great. What excites me is the most is the fine balance between rum , vanilla, tobacco and cinnamon. There must be some true in the Hedion claims, since Initio Parfums and Parfums de Marly are using it , i know the two brands are somehow connected.
I’d love to win Side Effect .
In a way inspired by Michelyn and Steven I’ll treat myself with Puerto Rican Coconut-Cinnamon Rum Cocktail
Cheers, and thank you for the opportunity

I loved reading the breakdpowns of these three Initio fragrances, and Steven always has a great nose to describe the vibes. I’m familiar with the brand, but do not yet have a favorite. Out of the three offered, I would go with Side Effect if I won. That seems to me to be the most unisex and the most appealing. My insta is Eris.can.swatch.kaos, I follow on ig and am a Redolessence subscriber.

  • Autumn makes me reach for not just more serious scents, and spicier scents, but overall heavier fragrances—the kind of thing that’s overwhelming in heat and humidity. Great list of Intito Parfums Prives options for this change in the season. In Michelyn’s Side Effect blurb, she mentioned some literature about Hedione, which was an interesting aspect of that material I wasn’t familiar with. I’m interested in that selection’s booziness, too. Steven also highlighted the refreshing bergamot note in Oud For Greatness Neo, which distinguishes it from many heavier, spicy, autumnal fragrances. He likes Side Effect for the cinnamon; that’s the note I’m most intrigued by (it sounds well-balanced here). “Quintessential Fall fragrance” is bold praise for Prives Paragon. I’ve tried a few plummy fragrances I enjoy, and this sounds a little too “viscous and sticky” for me, but the Palo Santo is an unexpected way to shake up this style.

I’m in the USA. I follow @cafleurebonofficial as @mmerline. If I were to win, I’d choose Side Effect. Thanks!

I enjoyed reading and hearing about Michelyn’s and Steven’s fall choices from Initio Parfums. I love all the spicy and ambery selections. Thanks the lovely John Keats reference!
Steven listed all the notes and how they fit with autumn. He truly is a fan of Side Effect. Although the hedione note intrigues me, I would choose Paragon if I were the winner of the giveaway. The plum note is what grabs me. And I love everything with palo santo.

  • The Fall is officially here, and I’m excited to wear my louder spicy, woody , sweet and resinous fragrances.
Like Steven said Oud For Greatness is famous and easily recognizable fragrance not only by fragrance connoisseurs , but by a lot of people who own no more than 5 fragrances.
Since I know the original very well , and had the pleasure of smelling NEO i can see the parallel Michelyn and Steven made between the two , NEO opening and base is indeed fresher and more zingy, but surprisingly in the drydown to me NEO is getting sweeter , and at least on my skin is closer to Haltane by the sister company Parfums de Marly.

“And, there’s the Hedione. Some scientific studies claim that Hedione is responsible for the release of pheromones (perhaps that is the “side effect” and why Intitio Parfums Prives Side Effect is part of the Carnal collection).-Michelyn”

I wear fragrances for my own pleasure only. When I pick up a fragrance for a particular situation, my goal was never to drive woman crazy. Boo,sweet-spiced resinous perfume with warm base of leather and tobacco, Michelyn described Side Effect perfectly. What I also get, and both Steven and Michelyn doesn’t is cherries, one of the most prominent notes in Side Effect, to me at least.
I agree that Paragon is the most versatile out of the 3 , not just in the colder months but imo it could be worn all year round. The plum , palo santo and incense combination is so well done.
My choice would be Side Effect

  • I was hoping few a few more sunny days if not weeks, but Autumn said “Nope I’m on time” 🙂
When I saw the name and the look of the bottle I thought Oud for Greatness NEO is inspired by Thomas Anderson aka Nio , the character from The Matrix played by Keanu Reeves . Like Redolessence I also feel like Oud for Greatness is formal occasions cold weather only fragrance , the way i wear it at least , but NEO is easier to wear, fresher with emphasis on lavender, fir balsam and bergamot . To me is a good thing Oud for Greatness NEO retains the DNA of the original fragrance.
I’m happy Side Effect is not one dimensional fragrance, but multifaceted scent of highest quality. I’m also curious how much tobacco and rum I’d perceive , hopefully a lot. Hedione I’ve heard of , first time I received a detailed description was in a Maison Francis Kurkdjian boutique, when I bought Oud Silk Mood . I’m not sure about the stimulation, and pheromone part of Hedion, but I’m sure Side Effect smells great.
Paragon is well suited for family gatherings, night outs even weddings. I like how versatile it is with fruity , woody and spicy base and hints of incense.
I’ll be happy to win Side Effect
    Thanks for the draw

  • Why I want Paragon by Initio?! Well Paragon by Initio is a striking fragrance that commands attention with its unique composition. From the moment you apply it, you’re greeted with an intriguing blend of notes that creates a sense of elegance and sophistication.
The opening is vibrant and bold, often featuring citrus and spicy elements that provide an energizing burst. As it settles, floral and woody notes emerge, adding depth and complexity to the scent. This evolution keeps the wearer engaged, making it a fragrance that can be appreciated throughout the day or evening.
One of the standout features of Paragon is its longevity. It lingers on the skin for hours, maintaining its character without becoming overwhelming. The sillage is impressive as well, leaving a captivating trail that invites compliments!
Stevens review is great as always.
    Appreciate generous gift.

  • Love the idea of co-curated Initio Parfums Prives Fall fragrances
Both Initio Parfums and Parfums de Marly I cherish a lot , the two sister companies became two of the most cherished and well respected niche brands not just in US but all over the world. I find quite interesting how Parfums de Marly do , and Initio do not disclose the perfumers behind their fragrances and I wonder why…
Oud For Greatness is in my possession, I’m new to NEO , I was not even aware of the brighter and fresher flanker.
Both Side Effect and Paragon I find attractive for a different reasons , Side Effect for the leather and tobacco warm base with heavy dose of cinnamon and rum on top , Paragon for its wearability, plum and cozy woods.
After a bit of hesitation, should I win I’d pick Side Effect
Thanks for the draw, from the USA

I loved seeing Steven’s reviews and Michelyn’s intro and review of three amazing offerings from Initio Parfums. All of these have been on my wishlist. Steven always has a detailed and well spoken way to describe fragrances. I have tried Side Effect and it’s one of my favorite all time fragrances. I love the warm spicy cozy vibes of Cinnamon, Rum, and Tobacco, I agree with Michelyn and Steven that these are 3 perfect offerings for the Fall season. The new 2024 batch of Oud For Greatness sounds good with a bright and fresh emphasis featuring Bergamot.
