In Astra Wega (Sophia Bardelli) 2024 + Shimmering Gourmand Giveaway

In Astra Wega

In Astra Wega by Olya Bar

Founded in 2020 by Sofia Bardelli, the nose behind the collection, and her sister Fabiola, the creative director, In Astra is a niche perfume house that pays homage to the poetic beauty of the cosmos and the stars that grace our skies each night. Their fragrances masterfully blend the fleeting and the eternal, capturing the transient nature of olfactory notes that evolve into ethereal accords while reflecting the timeless journey of stars—exploding, reviving, and continuing their eternal cycle. I slowly savored each of the fragrances to fully immerse myself in the brand and I’m absolutely loving the collection so far.

“Wega is a floral gourmand fragrance. Rose’s grace and sophistication, together with fresh and fruity nuances of Sakura blossoms, are engulfed in a sugary cloud of marshmallow: a pure delight of vanilla from Madagascar and tonka bean found in the precious drydown. – Sofia Bardelli.

Like a celestial goddess, In Astra Wega drifts through the sky in a shimmering sugar cloud of marshmallows, with delicate Sakura blossoms strewn along her path like micro stars. This fragrance evokes that magical moment when the sky blushes in bright pinks and fuchsias as the sun sinks below the horizon, igniting the heavens in a vibrant display. It’s a beautifully crafted floral gourmand that wraps you in its cosmic embrace.

Wega by In Astra

In Astra Wega by Olya Bar

The heart of Wega is where ravishing rose petals, with their indulgent scent, invite your senses to a feast. Notes of vanilla and tonka bean create a warm, nutty concoction, a deep plunge into the pleasures of all things sweet. Imagine, if you will, the most exquisite dessert—an imaginative creation that feels like the work of the imaginative heavenly beings. Dream up sakura petals and roses transformed into a confection, soaked in the tartest raspberry jam and crowned with marshmallow clouds that float in a pink sky. The marshmallow’s airy sweetness and the tart brightness of the raspberry create a quintessential contrast, much like the interplay of dusk and twilight in the sky. As the scents develop on the skin, the vetiver keeps it from getting too sweet and adds a slight tanginess to the structure, while the vanilla and tonka working in tandem add its notorious warmth. For those who dream with their senses, In Astra Wega is a fragrance that you’ll find yourself returning to, just as a gourmand might savor every last bite of an unforgettable dessert.

Notes: Japanese Cherry Blossom, Raspberry, Rose, Marshmallow, Tonka Bean, Madagascar Vanilla, Haitian Vetiver.

New house alert! I always enjoy reading about new houses and I’m glad one of their first launches happens to be a gourmand. The addition of Japanese cherry blossom alone makes this fragrance very unique I can see the picture used gives the feeling of being surrounded by a bed of soft cherry blossoms. Vanilla and Tonka are no strangers on any gourmand fragrance and the addition of raspberry all play harmoniously to accentuate the gourmand qualities. The marshmallow accord seals the deal and takes Wega to the stratosphere of gourmands. Thanks again to Olya for the through review and the house for the generous offer to win. I’m located in the USA.

  • Rose, tonka and vanilla are my favorite combinations. In Astra Wega I see these and more over I enjoyed the description of the perfume as a crafted floral gourmand that wraps you in its cosmic embrace.

  • Hello from New York City! I was just pondering an off-the-beaten path rose fragrance, and coming over Ca Fleure Bon did not disappoint.

I love the unique house (with Italians, yay!), and Olya’s review leaves me curious about Wega – gourmand, but not too much; feminine, but not too much – the balance seems so unique! Hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on it to try at some point!

  • Wega sounds absolutely mouthwateringly good! Marshmallows on a bed of fragrant rose and sakura petals, with tonka bean and vanilla notes to just blend it all into the most delicious dessert.
What I love the most is that this fragrance seems to be able to keep the freshness, while still being an authentic gourmand.

I enjoyed Olya’s comparison of In Astra Wega to the moments of pink skies during sunsets, especially the line that “drifts through the sky in a shimmering sugar cloud of marshmallows, with delicate Sakura blossoms strewn along her path like micro stars.” I am particularly interested in seeing how cherry blossoms add to the combination of rose, vanilla, and marshmallow.

Her vivid descriptions truly brought the fragrance to life, making me feel as if I could almost smell the notes of marshmallow and vanilla myself. I appreciate how she highlighted the unique blend of fruity and gourmand elements, and her personal insights added a lovely touch. This review has definitely piqued my interest in trying out Wega. Great job, Olya! I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • My favorite part of the review is as usual the notes description and how they balance. I can see it like colors or a painting, it’s so clear, and it makes me want to sample this! I live in the US.

  • I love the inspiration behind this brand. I always find it interesting when a house has a story and a clear vision of what they want their product to represent, and the stars and cosmos are a wonderfully fun inspiration. Olya’s description of Wega as ethereal and cloudlike certainly fits the bill. I love a good raspberry note, and to see it combined with marshmallow and vanilla makes my mouth water a bit. Best of luck to everyone. I live in NC, USA.

  • What an I retesting combination of notes! I love that there is rose and Haitian vetiver in it. It seems like it’s well balanced. I would love to try this. I am in California.

  • I completely partook in Olya’s survey of In Astra Wega! Her clear portrayals genuinely rejuvenated the scent, causing me to feel as though I could nearly smell the notes of marshmallow and vanilla myself. I value how she featured the remarkable mix of fruity and gourmand components, and her own experiences added a beautiful touch. This audit has certainly provoked my curiosity in evaluating Wega

  • Olya, thank you! I am forever in the mood for a gourmand rose and this might be the one.

I dream of those “sakura petals and roses transformed into a confection, soaked in the tartest raspberry jam and crowned with marshmallow clouds that float in a pink sky” feeling on my skin a and I love many sweet rose centric fragrances. But I don’t have yet a marshmallowy one, but with fresh and juicy tones of Sakura. Parfait de Roses is my favorite so far and my best friend said once that my natural skin smells like roses & vanille.

Please enter me, I live in EU.

  • Oh!!!! This sounds so lovely!! Like a rose wrapped up in fluffy sweetness!!! It sounds like it might smell like some of my most favorite fragrances – Delina and Angel Nova!!! Oooh! I definitely need to get my hands on this one!

    I live in the USA.

  • David Furman says:

This is cool and it seems to open kinda tart and sweet with the Japanese cherry blossom and raspberry I imagine. I picture this rose being very fresh and clean almost soap-like. Between that and the marshmallow note this thing probably goes rich and creamy while preserving it’s freshness. Lastly the Tonka and Madagascar vanilla make it sweet and well rounded and the Haitian vetiver probably helps the overall profile giving a dry airy feel. Would love to own this beauty, from Jacksonville, NC.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

Gorgeous review! Marshmallow clouds and sakura stars create such vivid imagery. I also love a groumand that incorporates rose. This sounds absolutely gorgeous and perfect for summer into fall. I love reading about houses that are new to me as well. Thank you for the draw. From the US.

  • In Astra Wega sounds like a perfume created for a goddess. The notes are very feminine and delectable with marshmallow, raspberry, vanilla and tonka bean. Rose seems like the star of the show with support from the sakura blossoms. This seems like an unabashedly joyous scent. MD, USA.

  • AromaDulce73 says:

  • I have been looking for the perfect raspberry/rose/vanilla fragrance since a chance last spritz in a perfume shop and didn’t notice enough what I had spritzed as I was heading out the door. Sparkling gourmand from the title got my attention straight away. I love the photos of the fun marshmallows included. I notice that Olya enjoyed the whole line, so I am going to check out the rest of this brand’s offerings. Thanks for bringing this fragrance to my attention. USA.

  • LuRon Anderson says:

Thank you Olya for your beautifully synoptic expression of this fragrance. I love how you tied the purpose of In Astra with vision and the wonder of the cosmos.

    Washington, USA

  • The marshmallow and raspberry notes in this cherry blossom and rose bouquet clearly lean towards the sweet end of gourmand fragrances, but I’m intrigued by the Haitian vetiver. That’s a clever way to balance out the tart-jam aspect of In Astra Wega. It’s also a reliable companion to tonka and vanilla in the base. Sounds lovely.

    I’m in the USA.

I loved Olya’s review of Astra Wega. This is a new brand discovery for me. Olya goes in depth about how it was founded in 2020 by Sofia Bardelli and a beautiful in depth review of what sounds like a fantastic gourmand I would love to try. I am from the USA.

  • Oooh! Sounds like this is going to be the type of gourmand that really appeals to me! I’m not as fond of heavy, sticky, thick gourmands, but cherry blossom, rose and marshmallow? Clouds floating in a pink sky? Now you’re talking!

    Missouri, USA

  • foreverscents says:

Olya’s review vividly painted a picture in my mind of Wega. I pictured the pink sky at sunset and then cherry blossoms falling onto a path, and then eating a raspberry jam confection while walking through a rose garden. Wega seems like the perfect gourmand fragrance.
    I live in the USA.

  • All In Astra Wega , Sofia Bardelli and Fabiola Bardelli the fragrance, the brand , the perfumer and creative director I was not aware of before reading the article.
What really grabbed me in Olya Bar extensive all around journey is the cosmic inspiration, sugary marshmallows , raspberry jam sweetness while the tartness and vetiver keeping the fragrance from getting overly sweet.
I wonder what kind of journey I’d have with In Astra Wega because I often dream with my senses , all I know is that it’s a fragrance with unique character I’d often return to
Thanks for the draw, from the USA

  • Sofia Bardelli is the nose who created quite a lot of Electimuss London fragrances , she’s very talanted.
If I have to guess based on what I learned from Olya and the intro In Astra Wega is high end , refined and alluring fruity floral gourmand with some cosmic exoticism , some vetiver and a beautiful bottle . Olya’s review was like a plane to the marshmallow clouds floating in the sky
    Thanks to all involved
