House of Bo Rosario, El Sireno and Infinitoud Tesoro Collection

Tesoro, House of Bo’s latest collection, is the perfumed memories of Bernardo Moller’s childhood reminiscences; Tesoro translates as treasure in Spanish. The collection consists of three fragrances created through a partnership with Master Perfumers, Olivier Cresp, Carlos Benaim, and Laurent Le Guernec. The unveiling was an intimate soiree for beauty journalists and connoisseurs in Bergdorf Goodman, where each fragrance was presented by Bernardo Moller, President of the Fragrance Foundation Linda Levy and the perfumers behind the creations. The guests got to nibble on small bites, mimicking the accords of the fragrances paired with a drink. An artistic blend of imagination and reality, memories and fantasies that were meticulously composed, so each can convey their own transportive story. The flacons are topped with a hand-carved cap out of natural stones. Each encompasses the mood and inspiration behind its fragrance, from the natural Blue Onyx Stone from Patagonia, which is known to promote Joy and Happiness, to Rose Quartz, promoting Love & Healing, to Black Saint Laurent Marble, representing Strength and Elegance.

House of Bo El Sireno review

House of Bo El Sireno via the brand

Let our journey into the collection begin with a dive into the depths of the salty blue waters with House of Bo El Sireno, a love potion from the sea. A rich mineral blend like no other, it feels like an invigorating jump into the cold waters that glide against your skin on that first dip, followed by a languorous time under the blazing sun. Imagine a tropical garden with lush banana-like ylang-ylang, magnolia trees, and creamy tuberoses submerged under the sea. Hints of salty sandalwood and fresh oakmoss feel as if the wood of the sunken ship that stayed asleep on the bottom of the sea for centuries. Laurent Le Guernec shared that it was an exciting challenge for him to create this ethereal composition, and while Laurent signed a wide range of white floral bouquets in his career, Michael Michael Kors being of the first big launches that I still hold dear, as it was one of the most narcotic takes on lily and tuberose duo, nothing was in the same genre as EL SIRENO, which plunges into a new direction and is truly a unique take on the aquatic genre that is both warm and luminous, mineral and slightly out of this world, yet many of us can relate to that soft whiff of saltiness on the skin after a long swim, a scent of summer getaways and future adventures.

House of Bo Infintoud

House of Bo Infinitoud courtesy the brand

The second gem is House of Bo Infinitoud, created by Carlos Benaim, it is an earthy and woody composition inspired by ancient Ayurvedic perfumery and was born out of Bernardo’s desire to create a different take on oud. Carlos Benaim recalls starting his work on this composition by burning the oud chips in the office to immerse himself fully in the aroma it gives out while it burns. He then worked his way up front to the structure of the vetiver note he deconstructed by pulling the familiar facets out that coincide with how oud smells when it’s being burned. It was further amplified by blending it with the unusual accord of Peyote. Peyote is a small, spineless cactus that contains psychoactive byive alkaloids, particularly mescaline which Native Americans have had a religious sacrament for thousands of years. INFINITOUD turned out to be incredibly balsamic and resinous, with soft smoke of incense wafting in the background, it feels beautifully familiar. Yet, it’s unlike any other oud we have smelled before. It’s an olfactory silhouette of an old soul and would layer perfectly with the warmth of ESPIRITU.

House of Bo ROSARIO

House of Bo Rosario by Oya Bar

House of Bo Rosario is the last  jewel of the Tresoro collection, the one I ended up falling in love with, a culmination of the senses, and is truly like the desert it was paired with. An absolute stunner from Olivier Cresp, it is vibrant and stimulating. It is based on a simple yet decadent dessert, a blend of tart pomegranates with touches of lemon, topped with chili Bernardo used to savor after school from the local street market. That innocent and happy association with the tangy and luminous taste of dessert after a long day of school was something Bernardo had been looking to recreate for some time. All aligned when he met Olivier Cresp, who chose to use one of his signature citrus accords – the Primofiore Lemon. Cultivated in the province of Siracusa, it is ranked among the best in the world due to the high quality of its essential oils, often used to give the ice cream a superb taste and flavor. Paired with the elegant brightness of freesia and peonies, it creates a delicate gourmand facet to the fragrance with a soft creamy undertone of ambergris. The base is grounded with vetiver, which brings out the zestiness of the lemon so well rounding off the structure. The flavors’ correlation to a perfume’s aroma is so perfectly balanced that it makes you salivate when you inhale the ripeness of the pomegranates oozing their juice over the rose centifolia petals. It makes you crave the experience many times over.

EL SIRENO Notes: Kelp, Banana Leaf, Lavender, Magnolia, Ylang-Ylang, Tuberose, Oakmoss, Mastic , Sandalwood.

INFINITOUD Notes: Myrrh, Vetiver, Peyote, Black Pepper, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Oud, Incense, Gurjum Balsam.

ROSARIO Notes: Pomegranate, Lemon Primofiore, Coriander, Peony, Freesia, Rose Centifolia, Vetiver, Ambergris, Incense.

Disclosure: The bottle  of House of Bo Rosario was kindly gifted to me by House of Bo  but opinions are always my own.

  • Very nice review. I am very intrigued by Infinitoud, it sounds amazing, I would love to fly trough its peyote. Saludos desde Mexico !!!

  • Olya!!! ❤️❤️❤️ What a wonderful review!!! I am very interested in these new scents by Bō! I own several bottles by this house, which I enjoy very much. All 3 fragrances sound lovely and intriguing! Thank you for this Amazing opportunity! ❤️ USA

  • I hadn’t heard of this house and it got me very intrigued. I love the description of the perfumes and their inspiration. My favorite is El Sireno!!!! I would love to try them out!!!! Thanks for the opportunity! I’m from Massachusetts, US.

  • Your descriptions of Infinitoud and El Sireno were intriguing but reading about the third fragrance Rosario makes me want to put it on my Christmas list! I’m a niche citrus lover and have quite the collection, not to mention sampling many. This jewel and it’s notes sound delicious and the perfect combination. I hope Santa is good to me so I can experience Rosario

  • Honestly because of Olya’s fabulous reviews, all three of these sound very appealing. One of the sea, a balsamic resinous oud, and the mouthwatering dessert- I couldn’t go wrong with any of them. The bottle design and general aesthetic of the brand is beautiful, natural, and calming. I would love to win this gorgeous set. In Texas.

  • The descriptions of the stones used as caps and how they mirror the scents was very cool. Learned on BOs site that they are handmade and the bottle are recycled glass. Scentwise El Sireno sounds fascinating and I would love to try it. I live in the US.

  • These all sound great and I love the color coded stone caps. Bernardo Moller is working with some very talented perfumers. Like Olya, I’m drawn to Rosario from Olivier Cresp. The vetiver base with the fruitiness of the pomegranate and lemon and delicate florals sounds refreshing and reminds me of summer. The trio in the Tesoro Collection are lovely to look at. MD, USA.

  • The descriptions as always attract me most in a review: I love to hear the textures and impressions the reviewer experiences as they sample the fragrances. The Infinitoud appeals the most to me, surprisingly, because I’m always on the look out for a really good sea water scent and oud can be abrasive on my skin, but here it sounds fabulous! I live in the US.

  • I haven’t had the opportunity to try any fragrances of House of Bo.

El Sireno (male of mermaid) sounds like a lovely fresh fragrance I wish I can have the opportunity to try on. Or any of the fragrances of the house.
I love their hashtag for Rosario (for all humans: SoulsHaveNoGender).

    From Massachusetts.

I love El Sireno being described as cold water on a hot day. That feeling of jumping in the ocean is one I cherish. Of the three, Rosario seems like it would be my favorite as I absolutely adore crisp rose scents.

I am in South Florida in the USA

  • Regis Monkton says:

All three of these perfumers are some of my favorite perfumers. I enjoy a lot of Benaim’s iconic fragrances, e.g. Dunhill “Icon”. I enjoy Le Guernec’s work, e.g. Calvin Klein “Euphoria Amber Gold for Men” is one of my favorite fragrances. Also, I enjoy a lot of the fragrances made by Olivier Cresp. I’m very interested in trying these three fragrances from House of Bo, especially “Infinitoud” because of its notes listing, because I’m interested to see how Benaim uses those notes, and because Olya describes it as “incredibly balsamic and resinous”. I live in the U.S.A.

  • I love the notes in House Of Bo Rosario, El Sireno and Infinitoud, especially the ones with incense and oud notes. Beautiful bottles too with stone caps representing different moods and inspirations. From Olya’s reviews, I am most intrigued by Infinitoud, especially as she says it is unlike any oud she has smelled before. I haven’t tried anything by this brand yet. From USA.

Thanks Olya! This is such a nice review of a house that I am not familiar with.

I love that InfinitOud was inspired by the smell of burning oud, which is the most traditional kind of oud scent that I can imagine. The notes are a lovely mix of smoky, incensey and woody smells and I would love to get a chance to smell this.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Oh boy, I have to admit that this is the first time I read something from this house, but all their perfumes look amazing!
The one that got my attention the most was Rosario, because it wants to replicate a dessert and I love it. The notes, the materials they use, everything seems top notch here.
    USA here.

  • I love the meaning of Tesoro for a fragrance. Sounds like a lovely night at Bergdorf for the release. Those caps are gorgeous!!! Infinitoud appeals to me the most. I love myrrh! I’ve never heard of that variety of lemon. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • These three House of Bo fragrances all sound excellent, though Infinitoud appeals to me the most, and caught my attention with its burning oud core and unusual Peyote accord. I have no idea what to expect from that combination; incense fragrances continue to fascinate me, and this one is no exception. I’m also curious about the interplay of lemon and vetiver in Rosario. I’d love to try these. Thanks for the coverage, Olya.

    I’m in the midwest, USA.

Lovely reviews Olya! What I enjoyed about Olya’s reviews of House Of Bo Rosario, El Sireno and Infinitoud is learning what inspired each perfume – particularly learning that Infiniteoud was inspired by ancient Ayurvedic perfumery and the perfumer’s desire to create a very different take on oud than the usual. I loved learning about how he aimed for the facets of how oud smells when being burned and amplified them with rich vetiver and an unusual peyote note, for a spiritual and warm result. That sounds so very appealing to me.

I live in the US. Of the 3, I would say Infinitoud appeals me the most, although they all sound amazing and I’d love to try them all.
