Fugazzi Vanilla Haze Review “Pure Indulgence”

Fugazzi Vanilla Haze

Fugazzi Vanilla Haze by Olya Bar

There’s something timeless about vanilla ice cream, isn’t there? It’s the kind of indulgence that feels right at any moment—morning, noon, or midnight. For me, vanilla is a memory woven into my childhood, a comforting thread that’s followed me into adulthood. Whether it’s the creamy scoop that cooled summer afternoons or the warm, nostalgic embrace of my grandmother’s kitchen, vanilla has always been my loyal companion. So, Fugazzi Vanilla Haze (which went viral on social media and sold-out multiple times across Europe and US retailers) was love at first sniff—a fragrance that wraps you in the coziest, most addictive buttery embrace, with a whisper of woody musk and a pinch of spice. It’s so deliciously captivating that the first time I wore it, I found myself racing to the kitchen, whipping up a batch of homemade vanilla ice cream laced with coconut milk I couldn’t even wait to hit the ice cream shop—such is the life of a perfume addict, always chasing the next sensory high!

As this is our first deep dive into Fugazzi on ÇaFleureBon, let’s uncover the story behind this rebellious Dutch fragrance house. Founded in 2018 by Bram Niessink, Fugazzi draws inspiration from the ancient art of perfumery in Egypt and the tantalizing legend of Cleopatra seducing Caesar with her irresistible scent. Bram, with his adventurous spirit and intuitive flair, built a brand that’s as daring as it is luxurious. The name “Fugazzi” riffs on “fugazi,” a nod to illusion, but with a clever twist—its spelling, infused with a Cyrillic edge, embodies rebellion and avant-garde sophistication. This is a house that challenges what luxury means. I first discovered the brand at Esxence Milan a few years ago, where their booth captivated attendees with the luxurious interior of a private jet. The following year, they transformed their space into a stunning poolside scene. This year, they raised the bar with an immersive supermarket display, complete with real fruits and vegetables, each peach adorned with a sticker. Their bold, creative approach consistently generates buzz and sets them apart in a crowded field

Fugazzi Vanilla Haze opens with a vibrant burst of mandarin, coconut milk, and almond, like a first taste of vanilla ice cream that wakes your senses. As it settles, the heart reveals a luscious blend of hazelnut, vanilla pod, and tonka bean, laced with a delicate touch of jasmine for elegance. By day’s end, it unveils its sultry base of burnt crème brûlée, white amber, and sweet musk—a scent that lingers and burns slowly.

Both scent and the flavor of vanilla ice cream which is what Fugazzi Vanilla Haze smells like to me transcends borders, from American soda fountains to French patisseries, where glace à la vanille pairs with delicate tarts, or Japanese soft-serve stands, where it’s swirled to airy perfection. Its universal appeal lies in its ability to comfort and elevate; a quality Vanilla Haze captures with its intimate character. Often dismissed as “plain,” vanilla’s complexity—floral, spicy, creamy—defies such labels, much like Vanilla Haze challenges perceptions of luxury with its avant-garde edge. Both are deceptively simple, yet profoundly evocative, stirring memories of childhood treats or quiet moments of indulgence.

Wow I’ve been looking for an ice cream fragrance. What are the chances i see this pop up?! Very cool! Need to check it out!

  • I definitely need to pick this up soon. Every note in hear sounds perfect. I think this would be a safe blind buy for me.

  • I’m hoping the almond and hazelnut are there to control the sweetness… The extrait exploring the dark side of vanilla sounds more appealing to my gourmand-averse self.

  • Vanilla always brings up great childhood memories with ice cream on a hot summer day being one. A gourmand for adults containing a decadent vanilla but tempered with coconut milk. nuts, ambery musk and crème brûlée elevates the treat. Jasmine adds a floral elegance and the tonka deepens the vanilla experience. MD, USA

  • I have a friend who loves vanilla ice cream and I always thought “boring”. After reading this article I think I shall go to a local ice cream shop and try vanilla. This sounds really good.

  • Lovely article! The way you describe Vanilla Haze is exactly the way I wish it smelled on me! For some reason, one of the aromachemicals in this fragrance lingers longer and stronger than everything else when on my skin and ruins the experience for me. Hopefully my dream vanilla scent is still out there to be discovered….
