Last year at Esxcense I met up with one of my favorite people in perfume land, the ambassador of French Niche perfumery François Henin of Jovoy.  François was kind enough to show me an avant premier of his new brand Jeroboam (while in prototype) -12 extraits that explore musk and all its facets.  Here is an excerpt from what he wrote me about Hauto (which means ‘skin’ in Esperanto), “I have a store in Paris and we do have several tuberose based fragrances. Here, what makes Hauto unique, is that the floral bouquet is built on this strong and heavy musk cocktail that gives longevity, sillage and volume that have no equivalent on the “market”. It is made for hunters, men and women, who are not shy,  and willing to attract the attention of their prey. You are not setting a trap with a “skin perfume” that can be detected on you by being much closed to you. You are hunting far away from where you are standing, and you leave the memory of your passage in a room long after you are gone.  In the perfume world, tuberose is generally related to the skin. Here of course, we are not talking about the baby skin ;-).”

Today is the Vernal Equinox, First Day of Spring, but the weather here in NYC is cold and cloudy.  Sebastian Jara of the YouTube Channel  Looking Feeling Smelling Great,  and founder of a popular Facebook Group reviews Jeroboam Hauto which we agree is a perfect scent to transition into warmer weather or when you want your love life to heat up.-Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief

  • Great review as always, Sebastian! I’m a tuberose scent lover so Hauto sounds very interesting and the bottle looks amazing. I have not tried any fragrances from the house.

Thank you. I live in the U.S.

  • I very like the video review. Sebastian is very good at describing fragrances. I am not familiar with Jerobaum, but from the review, it sounds wonderful. Thanks for the chance. I live in Europe.

  • Ive never had smelled this juice or this house,it sounds very interesting on the way you were breaking the notes, and imagining how it sells. Thank you for the review

  • Just today, I saw a beautiful picture of one of Jeroboam fragrances on Instagram. Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to test any of them.

I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews and the fact that he encourages people to explore more perfume – like he did in this video – men to try tunerose fragrances.

  • I really like Sebastian’s reviews, they are direct and tell me what I most want to know. I’m intrigued by the musk base used in Jerobaum, which I’m unfamiliar with, and the idea of a masculine tuberose. Tuberose is one of those notes that smell awful on me, like cheap air freshener, yet I love it on others so I always feel that I just haven’t tried the right one. Maybe Hauto is it! Thanks for the review and another great draw. I’m in the US.

  • Haven’t tried this House yet and don’t own any tuberose fragrances. I like all of Sebastians videos because he does a good job explaining how a fragrance smells and I enjoy his passion and enthusiasm for this hobby. I am in the USA.

  • Dying to try something from this house. Great review as always, Sebastian. Keep up the excellent work!

  • Really good review as always. I haven’t heard of Jeroboam house of fragrances. Like the break down of its notes so would love to try it. I live in the UK.

  • When Sebastian said that Hauto is unlike any other tuberose he has smelled I really perked up. I enjoy tenacious skin scents that maintain some character, so the long-lasting performance of this extrait sounds nice, a change of pace from “diva” tuberoses. The bottle design is beautiful and I enjoyed learning about the line, which is new to me. Thank you for the draw, I’m in the US.

  • sounds good notes : bergamot and pineapple; middle notes : tuberose, rose and spicy notes; base note : white musk.

  • Great beautiful scents since im a big fan of musk. And the video says that is great in the middle scent. I cant wait to try!

From the marketing and bottle packaging, I expected it to be quite a powerhouse so Sebastian’s review did take me by surprise that it is quite unisex. Also the notes of pineapple, rose, and musk also make it seem it is really unisex. Sebastian is right guys should be more open to traditional feminine notes such as Tuberose. I actually came to know about Jerobaum through Sebastian review he posted a while ago. thanks a lot for the generous draw. I am in the US.

  • I’m intrigued by the idea of an angelic tuberose, and the specific musk base. Since Sebastian mentions the unisex quality of the tuberose in this, I’d also be interested in trying this on my husband. I love tuberose, but sometimes I have a hard time wearing it. Thanks for this draw, I’m in the US!

  • Hikmat Sher Afridi says:

hanks for the gorgeous giveaway and review. Tuberose is one of my favorite note including musk, so it definitely for me. Yes indeed I would liked to be kissed by wearing this Jeroboam HAUTO fragrance.
    Good Luck everybody.

  • Great, informative, video as always by Sebastion. I have heard of the Jeroboam line but have yet to explore any of the fragrances. I was unaware that the line as a whole is dedicated to the multi facets of musks. A tuberose/musk scent sounds very interesting. While I like the smell of tuberose I often find it overly heady in many perfumes for me to wear comfortably. An angelic, clean, tuberose as Sebastion describes sounds really nice. I would love to try Jeroboam’s Hauto, thank you for this chance. I am in the US.

  • Sebastian’s interviews are always wonderful!! I’ve never tried anything from Jerobaum and look forward to trying Hauto. I love the idea of Hauto being a skin scent that lingers and that is long lasting. I live in the US and thanks for the draw!!

  • An angelic tuberose? Sounds like a must-try. I do love my tuberose to be full-bodied but it would be interesting to smell one that is lighter and more unisex, especially with the combination of musk. I have not heard of the Jeroboam brand. Looking forward to sampling some fragrances from them.

Thanks for the draw. I live in Canada.

  • Have not heard of this house till just now. Love the video reviews. Very interested here in the musk base. For me tuberose is hit or miss, hoping the skin scent aspect makes it a hit. 🙂 US

  • Abhinandan Mehrotra says:

every time i participated in the competition never have win.but will try.

want to smell as their is no trace of this scent near my country.

  • I agree with Sebastian that men should dare more with Tuberose, I personally love all white florals and I am sure this will be no exception.
Thank you for the draw. I live in the EU.

  • Jerobaum Hauto sounds very interesting.. I generally find both rose and tuberose very feminine. A very masculine- musky tuberose is something that sounds totally unique. Hope i get a changes to put my nose on this one.

  • Timothy Kaluba says:

Sebastian always does great reviews, this fragrance sounds exceptional and would love to put my nose in it.

  • gossamergold says:

I always love watching Sebastian’s reviews. He has a very calming way about him and consistently has more to say about a fragrance than simply whether or not he and those around him find the smell appealing, a facet of reviews which while helpful is often somewhat redundant in all but extreme cases given the individual nature of perfumery. I like the way he’s aware of and lets his viewers in on the wider context of the perfume as well – the snippet about the cancan dancers and the way the Art-Deco design ties in with the scent was helpful in forming an opinion of what to expect.

I’d love to try this scent – I’m a big fan of both the smell of Dior Homme and the way that it sets you apart from other men who are unsure about the Iris note. I like to smell different, sometimes maybe even to a fault, but would love for this to be my first foray into Tuberose.

    I’m in the UK

  • After watching Sebastian’s review what really intrigues me about Jeroboam Hauto. I am not familiar with this fragrance or this brand . I live in America

  • Very captivating review, I want to try this house, sounds like they could be a new favorite!

  • Iuno Feronia says:

Wonderful review as always, I love Tuberose. I haven’t had the Chance to try any scent from this perfume House but I would love to. I live in the EU.

  • Very lovely review. I don’t know any fragrance from Jeroboam, although I like the idea of a musky signature base. Hauto sounds lovely. I live in EU.

  • Greg Wilson says:

as always great review sebastian and i’m glad for 1 time i could run for a full bottle of this juice

  • I don’t have any tuberose scents in my collection and Sebastian’s review was so informative that I am very intrigued. Would love to have this in my collection! I’m in California, USA.

  • Sebastian lead me here and his reviews are always respected. I’ve also been a fan of the Fragrance guy and finally got to put a face to the name when they did the collab. My favorite pineapple is Aventus but this is probably a difference use of the note. I haven’t tried anything from the line as of yet. I live in the US.

  • Jawad Hindy says:

Great review, I haven’t tried any from the house, I would love to try this one ofcourse, especially since the bottle looks amazing anf masculine to me 🙂

  • I always watch Sebastians videos andj when I see there is a give away with world wide shiping….oh boy. Now, I never have luck with these kind of “games” but you never know. Not to mention that there are milion fragrances I cant even smell not yet buy them becouse I am from Macedonia. Maybe u heard of it maybe u didnt but aperantly we are not “wirldwide” 🙂

  • It’s always a pleasure to view Sebastian’s videos and reviews, and he’s so right. Men need to be rocking tuberose! Would love to try this one! In the USA and a 30 ml. Bottle of extrait at a reasonable price! Hell yes!

  • I like tuberose and glad to see one that is long lasting according to Sebastian:) Im not familiar with Jeroboam and I live in the USA

  • Diana Devlin says:

Sebastian’s reviews are always so enjoyable to watch. I can listen to him all day long describing fragrances! I am very intrigued by your description/experience of Hauto. Any time I’ve smelled a fragrance that contains tuberose, it tends to be very “heady”. Yet, you say it comes off clean and gender neutral. i’d be extremely interested in smelling this fragrance, both for myself and for my boyfriend. I wasn’t familiar with this perfume house until seeing this video. I love that the bottles come in small sizes to keep the price reasonable.
    I live in the U.S.

  • The combination of tuberose and pineapple sounds beautiful! I’ve never tried Jeroboam perfumes before.
Thanks for the review and draw! Good luck to all!

  • Great review Sebastian. I agree about with review about seeing tuberose as a masculine note in certain concoctions. Such as Serge Lutens Tuberose Criminelle. Amazing. I have tried the Jeroboam line and found it quite nite and very long lasting. Insulo, Origino and your reviewed Hauto all stood out as so wonderful. I am a tuberose nut and I have really enjoyed wearing my sample of Hauto. It does simmer on heated skin and the musk is truely gorgeous. Would truely enjoy to win a full bottle of this beauty. Very well done. In the USA, thank for the opprotunity.

  • I am a big fan of Sebastian’s review and I Was extremely happy to hear that this line has a musk base. I love love love musk. I’m not familiar with this brand until now; but I would love to learn more and explore their fragrances specially this one with the tuberose. I live in Seattle, WA

  • Great review as always!!!Sebastian’s reviews explain exactly what are the perfumes about.I would like to smell it!!!I’m not familiar with this house.I live in Europe.Ty for the giveaway!!!

  • Great review. I liked how you broke down the notes. I haven’t heard of this house. I’ll have to research up on them. Thanks for the draw and I’m in Canada.

  • I like listening to Sebastian for pronunciation. I often realize I am saying some of the names incorrectly! I like the addition of tuberose to this perfume and would love to try it. Thank you for the draw. I amin the USA.

  • Great review. I always thought tuberose to be masculine scent but I would love to try this on me. I am Saudi Arabia.

  • I love the bottle and the use of 30 ml bottles. Nice small bottles and cheaper than buying a large take in a big bottle or flacon. Also since the concentration is strong we don’t have to use much. Thanks for the draw. I live in the US.

  • I liked his passion! The perfume sounds interesting and I think it would be quite lovely to wear it. I live in Europe.

  • Big fan of tuberose scents and the flower. The pineapple along with the other notes sound great. I’m in the US. Thanks for the draw!

  • Great review Sebastian!! Thank you for sharing with us a new perfume from a house I am now being informed!
I loved the way you analyzed the notes I like tuberose very much!!!
Thanks for the draw, I am a registered reader living in EU, Greece..
