Festive Perfumes for The Holidays photo by Steven

The holiday season is in full swing, and what better way to embrace the spirit than with three enchanting fragrances that capture the essence of food, family, and celebration. Steven Gavrielatos of Redolessence and Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief of ÇaFleureBon co-curated three perfumes that invite you to savor this festive time of the year.

Martin Margiela Replica By the Fireplace (Marie Salamagne) 2015: Spiced woods glow like garlands, red berries sparkle like ornaments, and creamy vanilla drapes the scene in sweetness. At the heart, smoky chestnuts crackle as though roasting by the fire, radiating warmth beneath golden lights-Michelyn

Notes include: Guaiac wood, chestnut, vanilla, neroli essence, red berries, orange blossom, pink pepper, cloves, juniper, Peru balsam

Perfumology Decadent Memories (Nathalie Feisthauer) 2024: Like a pie fresh from the oven, this scent radiates love, comfort, and holiday joy. Laughter, sweetness, and fragrance converge. The warmth of loved ones and the lingering aroma become more than pleasure; they become memory. Each spritz rekindles precious moments, inviting you to savor the sweetness of life’s most cherished memories. –Michelyn

Notes: Cherry Accord, Blueberry Accord, Baked Apple, Blackcurrant, Vanilla Absolute, Tonka Bean Absolute, Sandalwood Oil, Virginia Cedar, Ambroxan, Musks.

More than a fragrance, it’s a reminder that home is defined not just by place, but by the smells and the people who make it feel like one. Editor’s note: I don’t get spicy vibes; also the jus has gold flakes floating in the perfume.-Sandi Lundberg, Editor

Notes: baked apple, spiced gingerbread, cinnamon bark, holiday spice, buttered popcorn, toasted s’mores, Irish cream liqueur, coffee, steamed milk, caramelized brown sugar, maple, Colombian coffee absolute, scotch pinebalsam fir, aged amber, Australian sandalwood, gray ambergriswhite musk

Steven’s description of Decadent Memories is refreshing and I’m glad that although it’s a cherry scent it doesn’t smell like any of the other well known cherry fragrances. By The Fireplace is perfect indeed for the winter. The name itself says it all: warm, hot red and creamy vanilla. Statik Olfactive’s Home For The Holidays it’s a new release and based on the very gourmand notes, my favorite. Steven got spices but Michelyn gets more of the holiday/gourmand touches. Also Michelyn touched on the reflective memories that Decadent Memories gives as well as the golden hue beneath By The Fireplace. A great list to help us all get through the holidays and start the new year correct. I’m located in the USA.

  • Well I have been really wanting to try Statik Olfactive for a minute. I’m not a big gourmandienne but I’ve heard so much good reviews on Statik Olfactive not just here but among my frag friends. Soooo it’s time. Let the Fragrance Distribution System bless me with a win on this one! Steven’s videos are always very informative about notes and how smoky something is for example or fruity.
I am located in California. Thank you for the generous giveaway.

  • Every single note from Home for the Holidays is giving me absolute mouth watering, irish cream, espresso, apple pie, like steven said spicies and pumpkin and cozy vibes. I loove gourmands and this feels like a gourmands lover dream. I am so excited to try this. I follow Steven on tik tok amongst other platforms and he never misses, these three are added on my to try list. Im from eu.

This is such a fun holiday lineup! I loved reading Sandi and Michelyn’s takes they made the perfumes sound like a whole mood. Michelyn describing Decadent Memories as “laughter and sweetness converging” is just perfect, and Sandi pointing out the gold flakes in Home for the Holidays made it sound so extra and festive. Steven’s video was the cherry on top, his vibe is so warm and he breaks down the scents in a way that’s easy to connect with. You can really tell he loves this stuff. It got me even more excited about that cozy, nostalgic feeling these perfumes promise. Speaking of which… I am dying to try Home for the Holidays! A fragrance that actually smells like spiced apple pie, gingerbread, and that “first day of winter break” feeling? That’s literally my dream scent. Fingers crossed hard for this one, thanks for the amazing giveaway!

  • These all sound amazing! Love Steven’s comments on the presentation of the bottles as well. I also have to say that Michelyn’s description of By the Fireplace is amazing: “Spiced woods glow like garlands, red berries sparkle like ornaments, and creamy vanilla drapes the scene in sweetness.”

  • Steve has chosen three scent that for him represent the festive season: Decedent Memories which he has praised routinely, By the Fireside, an iconic smoky, woody and cozy scent that embodies the essence wintertime and Home for the Holidays, a rich, strong and spicy treat that taps into fall and winter gatherings with cozy vibes; it has a longevity that lingers long past the end of the night at any soiree.

Michelyn highlights both Decedent Memories: a gourmand that encompasses the season: coziness and holiday baking; it radiates love, comfort, and holiday joy. While By the Fireside highlights warm, spiced woods, fire roasted chestnuts in a smoky haze. Sandi like Steve sees Home for the Holidays as the epitome of the festive season, the holidays in a bottle. Comforting, nostalgic and cozy.

  • I’ve never tried anything from Perfumeology OR Statik Olfactive! Really excited to get my nose on these and would love to be entered into the giveaway.

  • What hit me the most is “robust” and “addictive”. That’s what I love about warm holiday scents. I have By The Fireplace. Warm scents are so inviting. Would certainly be grateful to add others to use during this time of year. Good luck everyone.

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

I enjoyed hearing Steven talk about these three fragrances for the holidays. I liked how he mentioned the longevity differences of the three as well. Sandi and Michelyn also added some nice information about these three fragrances, like how Home for the Holidays is like a favorite holiday movie you return to year after year. I live in Maryland USA.

  • Wow what an elegant presentation! Steven has so much knowledge about fragrance and expressed himself so well. I find his descriptions to be really accurate, I like the way the reviews were really geared toward the holidays. The descriptions really give the holiday feels. I appreciate that they aren’t all gourmands.I love warm spicy fragrances. They tend to be so warm and comforting. I am in Pennsylvania USA

  • Carol Willocx says:

I have “by the fireplace” and love it. Such a unique perfume. I haven’t heard of the other two but I am sure I would love them.

  • Loved Steven’s video – so warm and festive, it really captured the cozy holiday spirit of these scents. I also enjoyed Michelyn and Sandi’s reviews, especially how they described the nostalgia and comfort behind each fragrance. Home for the Holidays sounds magical. Happy holidays! ✨

  • One of my favorites winter scents is by the fireplace! I’m like Steven, my second favorite is Jazz Club from Replica. Love all of the MM with Beach Walk my third. I really need to try home for the holiday’s! This sounds right up my alley! Will probably end up with this one eventually. Chris has released so many creations that I need to try. USA

  • Absolutely loved Steven’s video! He perfectly captured the comforting side of the season. Decadent Memories sounds like the perfect holiday hug in a bottle, and you can never go wrong with By the Fireplace, it’s such a timeless winter comfort scent. And Home for the Holidays sounds like the kind of spicy, full‑bodied scent that could wrap around you like a holiday blanket. I also appreciate how he co-curated this list with Michelyn Camen; it gave the whole video a festive and collaborative spirit.

Michelyn’s reviews always feel like stepping into a living painting of scent; vivid, textured, and full of feeling. I love how she turns each perfume into a story: By the Fireplace glows with nostalgic warmth, Decadent Memories feels deliciously tender and sentimental, and Home for the Holidays captures that golden sense of belonging we crave this time of year. Her words don’t just describe, they embrace, wrapping every note in sensory poetry and emotional resonance.

Owning Statik Olfactive Home for the Holidays would be amazing! Steven’s description is very alluring.

  • Julie boswell says:

I enjoyed the video so much-I love how Steven can really bring the scents alive with his descriptions and makes me want to explore each one!

  • i liked the selection that steven showed us & how he talked about the bottle presentation, longevity, & robustness of these specific fragrances. all three sound like the perfect fragrances for the holiday seasons- cozy & full of festive flavors! i am in united states.

  • TheScentedPage says:

When Michelyn writes about By The Fireplace, it’s not all about the smoke. She creates an evocative scene that draws the reader into the fragrance.

Steven not only described the perfumes, how they feel, but also how they wear. Having a perfume that will last 12 hours is one less worry for anyone during this busy time.

Excellent job on having three distinct perfumes.

  • I love every single video of Steven, since 2014, his friendship with Carlos Powel and all his professional descriptions.
I’d love to win a bottle of Home for the Holidays

  • Steven you have made me so passionate about perfume and fall in love with scents thank you
    Happy holidays

  • I have been meaning to get a sample of Home for the Holidays. Both reviews have definitely confirmed that I need to try this fragrance. Warm, comforting, spicy, and nostalgic perfect for the winter.
    USA

  • I really enjoyed how Steven brought these fragrances to life through his descriptions—his enthusiasm is infectious and makes you want to experience each scent firsthand. What struck me most was how he highlighted the longevity and robustness of these perfumes, which is so practical for the busy holiday season.
Michelyn and Sandi’s reviews were beautifully evocative. Michelyn’s description of By the Fireplace as “spiced woods glow like garlands, red berries sparkle like ornaments” creates such a vivid sensory scene, while her take on Decadent Memories as a convergence of “laughter, sweetness, and fragrance” captures that emotional quality we seek in holiday scents. Sandi’s observation about the gold flakes in Home for the Holidays adds such a lovely festive detail.
Home for the Holidays sounds absolutely perfect for this time of year—that combination of baked apple, spiced gingerbread, and toasted s’mores alongside the warmth of balsam fir and sandalwood feels like the essence of cozy holiday gatherings. I love fragrances that evoke both comfort and nostalgia.
I’m in the EU. Happy holidays to everyone!

  • This one has everything to make you feel cozy, at home and at peace. All the notes are mouth-watering! Thanks for the giveaway!

  • I enjoy the written portion as it’s brief and to the point. The video described the Home for the Holidays in a way that leads me to believe I’d enjoy that one the most. US

  • I own By The Fireplace and really love it this time of the year. Mychelin’s description was spot on Steven’s video on all three was amazing. He’s the man for videos. I would love to win Home for The Holidays. I have heard so much about this brand and it has a great rep in the fragcomm.

  • What I really like about this Spirit of the Season roundup is how it treats festive perfumes as actual mood shifters instead of just candy cane and sugar overload. It reads more like a set of atmospheres for the holidays than a pile of loud gourmand bombs, which is exactly how I like to wear scent this time of year.

I am especially excited to see Statik Olfactive in the mix. I actually won a bottle of Finding Forbidden Love recently and loved it so much that I went ahead and ordered The Forbidden Temple too, so this house is very much on my radar right now. Seeing them included here just makes me even more curious to explore what else they do around warmth, tea, and moodier holiday themes.

    I live in the USA.

  • Everything about the video is making my mouth (and nose!) crave the holidays, and all the delectable comforts of the season. I’d love to be given a chance to experience this one!
I’m located in NY. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

  • I enjoyed watching Steven’s description of the 3 festive fragrances for the holidays. Michelyn’s review of Home for the Holidays by Static Olfactive intruiged me with the radiating hospitality and nostalgia. By the Fireplace and Decadent Memories also sound beautiful and cozy.
    I am based in EU.

  • I think it’s very interesting that Sandi doesn’t get the spiciness from Home for the Holidays while Steven describes it as a very spice-forward scent. Both Michelyn and Steven describe the Perfumology offering as smelling like pie, so I understand that one. But, Home for the Holidays… I’ve got to try this! I am in the US.

  • Decandent Memories: Written and video both make this sound like a pie I need to own for winter wear: I have apple-pie adjacent scents in some By Kilian, but this sounds more comforting and less perfumey! By the Fireplace: I don’t actually get nut or fruit, and am surprised to see chestnut and berries as notes. My experience is more like Steven’s; warm smoky sweet cozy. Home for the Holidays is the most attractive to me: Rich, robust, spicy, everything Steven describes makes me want it. The written review’s equation of it with a favorite movie you watch over and over just clinches it. I must try that! I live in the US.

  • Nostalgic woods and gourmands for the holiday selections. All three seem to embody the spirit of the season. I’ve only tried Replica by the,Fireplace but I can see the connection among the three. Home for the Holidays especially evokes the holiday gourmand touches with the spirit of hospitality. Steven detects a lot of spices in this composition. MD, USA

  • The “Home for holidays” notes sounds just perfect for this season, warm, cozy and gourmandish. Steven’s reviews are always great and Michelyn’s description for “By the fire place” is on point since i do have this perfume in my collection and love it. Thank you for the chance, i’m in the EU.

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

The note breakdown of this fragrance is a melange of all the treats many families in America usually consume around this time of year and I’m here for it. Amen to Ms. Michelyn in her assessment of the importance of aromas and loved ones to the holiday season. Would really enjoy having this in my collection to add another tradition to it all. Appreciate Steven’s breakdown and agree the presentation is next level. Thank you, Statik Olfactive, for the generosity of the giveaway opportunity. Many blessings from Virginia, USA!

  • By the Fireplace is a scent I’ve enjoyed for a long time, despite never owning a bottle. I first tried it in NYC at Christmastime and associate it with the department store windows and the nuts from street stalls. I like how Michelyn describes it as radiating warmth underneath the golden lights. I also liked how Sandi described Home for the Holidays as more of a nostalgic feeling than a particularly spicy scent. As much as I tend to gravitate towards more literal perfumes, it can also be nice to try something more evocative sometimes. The way Steven described Decadent Memories sounded quite delicious. I am becoming increasingly fond of these “apple pie” gourmands as my nose warms up to cinnamon in perfumery. I also like how he makes a point to show off the bottle. I am from New England, USA.

  • Really enjoyed this festive roundup — the selection feels joyful and perfectly suited to the season. I like how each fragrance seems to capture a different holiday vibe, from warm spicy hugs to bright, sparkling cheer, giving plenty of options for cozy evenings or celebratory outings. Definitely putting a few of these on my holiday sampling list.

  • Fun list! Of these, REPLICA BTF is the only one I’ve tried, and Micheyln’s description is spot on, though I get very little berry and a lot of vanilla on my skin. It’s comforting and long lasting. I agree with Steven that it really smells like the winter holiday season. I’m more interested in the Statik Olfactive Home For The Holidays take on a kitchen full of people and spicy baking cookies and a hot cuppa. Sandi pointed out that a holiday fragrance can be made up of smells we associate with the holidays, not just a specific place we celebrate them. I’m particularly curious about the “favorite holiday movie” buttered popcorn note and warm evergreen base, which takes the sweet gourmand elements in an unexpected direction. Plus Steven reported it has “monstrous performance”. And his reviews were as detailed as ever. I don’t think Decadent Memories is my style, but I appreciated his raving review.

I’m in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway! Happy holidays.

  • Love Steven’s video, as per, and home for the holidays sounds perfect for during the holidays, and for remembering and reminiscing after, during the gray winter. I can’t wait to try it. I’ve wanted to Maison Margielia By the Fireplace, and now I want to even more. Thank you Michelyn for your lovely reviews. Happy Holidays! I’m in the US

  • Michelyn and Sandi description of the listed fragrances wrap your mind in the fragrance of holiday. The pie out the oven decadent memories. The chestnut roasting wood burning scent of by the fireplace. The nostalgia the many scents of holiday brings about from the various facets that call us home from Home for the holidays. These are just quintessential to what makes the holidays bright celebrating food, love, and comfort with the ones we love.

    NY, USA

  • Before I watched Steven’s video and learned that Home for the Holidays was the offering, I read the reviews.
And Home for the Holidays was the one that stood out to me.
The warm apple pie, coffee and fir notes (among the others of course) sold me, then when Steven’s said it was a 12 hour longevity it was a done deal .
Thanks for the giveaways and happy holidays

Twelve plus definitely is something to consider when delving into the niche sphere. Home for the holidays sounds great for sure. By the fireplace has the namesake and popularity for good reason too however the Perfumology decadent memories sounds like one I definitely might look for in years to come. The note breakdown and it’s presence matches not only the season but also my personality. As always Steven’s presentation was on point, Sandi and Michelyn’s narrative description breaks it all the way down guiding any avid reader or connoisseur to make a better assumption of what the bottle beholds. Would love to win, from USA.

  • I have By the Fireplace and agree with Michelyn that it’s a great fragrance for the holidays. I’ve never tried Decadent Memories, but it sounds absolutely delicious! Steven mentioned it smells like a warm apple pie, so it’s going straight to my test list. I’ve been so interested in Home For The Holidays since its release. Sandi’s comment that it “evokes hospitality and nostalgia” just makes me want to try it even more. It’s also a huge plus that Steven mentions it lasts for 12+ hours.

I would love to own a bottle of Home for the Holidays! Thank you to Michelyn, Sandi, and Steven for your great reviews, and thank you to Statik Olfactive for the giveaway. I am located in the USA.
