“A tale of transformation that began in the delicate moment between night and dawn when the Croatian landscape emerges from darkness to a palette of enchanting colours.” Quote from the brand.

Eveilleur is a new perfume brand founded by Dajana Jukić and the first to be created in Dalmatia (Croatia). For her first triptych, DSCVR ME! I am, Not Innocent, she enlisted master perfumers Olivier Cresp and Nathalie Lorson to translate the beauty of the Croatian landscape olfactively to bring her vision to reality. This journey is centered around raw materials indigenous to this region.

The name, concept and presentation have been chosen to reflect a joyful and unique approach. The vibrant frosted glass flacons, dragonfly motif cap, high quality 3D gloss branding on the box show an eye for detail which makes éveìlleur stand out from the crowd of brands vying for attention in an overly saturated market. The question for me was, would the scent itself grab my attention?

éveìlleur DSCVR ME was the first in the collection to be created in collaboration with Olivier Cresp (Firmenich) and is described as “A stormy voyage into the unknown… the scent bathes in its own shadow, demandingly selfishly beautiful, crashing wildly from its peak.” A tribute to the Adriatic Sea, éveìlleur DSCVR ME is a vertically structured scent which is complex in nature and transforms wildly through wearing it.

Opening, DSCVR ME reminds me of crashing waves against rocks. There’s energy to the perfume from the beginning. This is courtesy of a blend of bergamot Italy Fraction Essence and eucalyptus buds which seem to create a freezing foam like fizz. Whilst it is evident from the top the central theme of the composition is immortelle (everlasting absolute) a compelling floral ingredient given its complex nature it has a resinous quality which not only underpins the scent but also allows other ingredients to complement it. Its slightly animalic and salty skin-like quality fuses beautifully with the freshness of Calone.

As it transitions éveìlleur DSCVR me shifts gears with the introduction of Lentisque Absolute MD in the heart. It has a calming yet malevolent duality, being both balsamic and chocolatey which was very unexpected, brooding, as if one is within the eye of a storm. These aspects work well with oak moss in the deep base of the perfume, Ambrox and musks are utilised in concert to push it to the edge of being wearable yet truly challenging and interesting. What I “discovered” is that  DSCVR ME is not a typical marine scent, it treads a different path; a perfume of freedom, power and unique style. Those searching for a fragrance which goes off the well beaten track, éveìlleur DSCVR ME might just be for you.

Top Notes : Bergamot Italy Fraction Essence, Eucalyptus Buds, Everlasting Absolute
Heart Notes: Salty Watery Accord , Jasmine Absolute, Lentisque Absolute MD
Bottom Notes : Ambrox®, MusksOak Moss.

The imagery and the bottle describe exactly what the fragrance is about which is the feeling of being by the coastline. Not a cray complicated note breakdown yet direct enough to transmit the meaning the owner of the brand wanted to put out. I’ve never been to Croatia but it’s in my list of places to visit and Incan only imagine what the breeze and other aromas at the coastline feel like. This one doesn’t look like it goes on the marine/fishy way but rather still gives the sensation of the sea combining the right notes. This is certainly a house to watch for in 2025 and beyond. I’m located in the USA

  • I love the idea of a scent inspired by the Adriatic Sea and the Croatian coastline—it’s such a fresh perspective. The way Karl describes the perfume as “selfishly beautiful” and stormy is so intriguing, especially with those unexpected notes like Lentisque Absolute and the salty skin-like quality of immortelle. It’s not often you hear about a marine scent that’s this bold and complex. Definitely adding this to my must-try list—it sounds like a real adventure in a bottle!

I love aquatics, and I think one that is inspired by Croatian landscape and with ingredients indeginous to the area makes this fragrance very intriguing. I live in Maryland USA.

  • Karl describes the scent as a “stormy voyage into the unknown,” evoking the untamed spirit of the sea and the tranquility that follows a storm and I personally found that very interesting. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • The Croatian coast is on my bucket list of places to visit. Several of my friends who have visited have raved about the relatively unspoiled beauty of the area. DSCVR ME sounds like a wonderful representation of the Adriatic with its mediterranean elements of florals and citrus and marine accords, oakmoss, ambrose and musks. MD, USA.

The fact this is not a typical marine scent has definitely piqued my interest. The owner Dajana has definitely picked the right perfumers for this composition. Thanks a million from the UK

  • éveìlleur, I wanna DSCVR YOU! Usually, I am not a fan of marine scents but this perfume sounds very interesting! I would love to discover its duality.

  • I love aquatic scents. Also that picture of the Croatian coastline describes how the scent smells beautiful, and the bottle looks amazing as well.

  • As soon as I read Olivier Cresp and Nathalie Lorson helped create DSCVR ME, I was immediately intrigued. Described as “a stormy voyage into the unknown”, my interest is peeked even further. The combination of eucalyptus and bergamot sounds invigorating, while the immortelle must really add complexity to the scent. I really loved Karl’s comment about the Lentisque Absolute having a calming yet malevolent duality. As he mentions, DSCVR ME really sounds like an interesting take on a marine scent. I would love to own a bottle! Thank you, Karl, for the great review, and thank you to éveìlleur for the generous giveaway. I am located in the USA.

  • I’m a HUGE fan of eucalyptus and Lentisque and love oak moss, immortelle and bergamot. I am not a fan of Calone but with these other notes and the way it’s described I am super interested to try it. Plus the first fragrance house from Croatia? I’m all for it! Such an incredibly gorgeous country. And we can put our faith in Cresp and Lorson certainly,
Thank you for such a generous give away. I’m in USA.

  • I live in Italy, Apulia, a region known for the marvelous beaches and seasides. I love, when the summer is going to end, sitting on the rocks in front of the rough sea in those cloudy afternoons.
Karl’s review brought me there, with the wawes foam that sprays in the air leaving that magnific salty and deep scent. I’m also really interested by the choice of using immortelle (aka everlasting), a mysterious note that I personally love. I have a plant in my terrace and I wait all the years for its flowers, characterized by a nutty/honey/curry scent.
    Ciao from Italy.

I love a perfume whose inspiration is a certain location. Usually, I can be transported instantly to a place I’ve likely never been. I just love the uniqueness of this note structure, it’s something I’ve never seen before. I would love to smell what Dalmatia has to offer and be whisked away someplace amazing. I live in Oregon.

  • This interests me because I am a big fan of immortelle fragrances and the idea of a fragrance that is pushed “to the edge of being wearable” makes me smile. I am not crazy about Calone in fragrances, but I am intrigued by Karl’s description of the scent using it well. I am in the USA, in NC.

  • This blend of notes is sensational as it perfectly encapsulates the image of a Mediterranean coastline. As a Greek myself, I know how it feels so be in such a picturesque setting, standing on a cliff edge and looking out to the horizon as an array of floral scents waft past you, clutched by the breeze. Even just observing the aspects of this fragrance gives me summer nostalgia, and I yearn to own a cologne that replicates it. I strongly respect Eveilleur for creating such a unique, yet intriguing product and I adore the addition of eucalyptus, a criminally underrated scent that deserves more attention. Congratulations to the brand for introducing this dazzling concoction to the fragrance world.

  • This fragrance fascinates me. On paper, looking at the notes, it is something I might like, but wouldn’t seek out. But in reading Karl’s review, this seems to be a fragrance that is more than its notes and is truly an olfactive journey waiting to be discovered, so I have gone from interested to desperate to try it.

Great review! love aquatic fragrances, so this I HAVE to try it! I find quite intriguing and interesting what Karl said that DSCVR ME remind him of crashing waves against rocks! This refreshing energy with the uniqueness of the immortelle and Lentisque Absolute MD are notes that I don’t see often on marine aquatic scents. Sounds a sensational creation and I love the fact that is inspired from Adriatic sea! Defently want to explore this new house! Seems very promising!
    Many thanks!

  • The description and the bottle exactly says what this fragrance is all about. Breathing the salty air Croatian coastline and just being relax. This is the fragrance i like to have for spring and summer.

From the title and the look of the bottle (such a beautiful one, btw) I was also fooled into believing that it’s another marine scent. I love dearly this perfume profile, and although not many surprises come my way, I keep getting excited when I discover one I don’t own (yet ).
The notes of DSCVR ME and Karl’s ‘warning’ got me thinking that yay, finally, a different one – I was sold at “the edge of being wearable yet truly challenging and interesting.” This review reminded me of the beautiful but rocky beach I’ve spent one summer holiday, in what now seems a different life.
    I’m in EU.

  • I am always looking for a good sea water outdoor scent, and this sounds different from the ones I’ve tried before with that chocolately grounding dry down. Possibly a winter to spring scent? Lovely!

  • Karl, your review beautifully captures the essence of éveìlleur DSCVR ME. The dynamic transformation and unique approach to marine scents truly stand out, especially with the vivid imagery of crashing Adriatic waves and stormy voyages. I love how it avoids typical marine clichés by incorporating indigenous elements like immortelle and Lentisque Absolute MD, creating a balance of freedom, power, and challenge. The dual nature of calming yet malevolent notes makes it sound like a true olfactory journey. It’s inspiring to see a fragrance so deeply rooted in the beauty of Dalmatia while pushing creative boundaries. A captivating tribute to the region! Warm Regards from Abu Dhabi 😉

  • FragranceIsMe says:

The presentation is stunning. The notes sound breathtaking. The inspiration (especially, the “crashing waves against the rocks” and how this “goes off the well beaten track” have captured my undivided attention. This is a creation I look forward to trying on my skin.

  • What I find most interesting about Karl’s review is the way he describes DSCVR ME as a fragrance that transports you to another dimension, blending citrus freshness with deeper, mysterious woody tones. It sounds like an olfactory journey worth experiencing. I live in Europe, Romania.

  • The scent profile sounds great, the smell is no doubt excellent, as Karl described, not typical but interesting, just like the calming yet malevolent spirit of the sea.

This sounds like an interesting fragrance. What caught my attention was when Karl mentioned that at the heart of the fragrance there’s balsamic & chocolatey shift. Would like to get my nose on this one for sure.

  • This description of éveìlleur DSCVR ME immediately caught my attention: “A tribute to the Adriatic Sea, éveìlleur DSCVR ME is a vertically structured scent which is complex in nature and transforms wildly through wearing it.” I love a fragrance that transforms throughout the drydown. I’m also intrigued by Cresp’s stormy take on a shoreline aquatic, with that unusual combination of bergamot, eucalyptus, immortelle, and Calone, plus the “balsamic and chocolatey” heart over oakmoss. I’d love to try this on a foggy day.

    I’m in the USA.

  • Oh this scent sounds wonderful, and I will enjoy learning more about Ms. Jukic and her other scents. From the immortelle to the crashing waves and the eye of the storm, I would go on that journey. Good luck to Ms. Jukic, and thank you for the generous draw and fab review. I’m in the us

DSCVR ME sounds like a unique marine fragrance, one that is composed of some very beautiful notes. I like that the fragrance recalls the Adriatic coast. I especially like that there is eucalyptus in the composition. I am intrigued to discover how that note combines with the bergamot and Lentisque. All together, this does indeed sound like a bold fragrance.
    I live in the USA.

  • I imagine this fragrance as being on the edge of a cliff bordered by the sea, the freshness, a certain coldness, the salty air, an enveloping sensation. I would very much like to try it.
