Etat Libre D’Orange Like This, Burberry London and Parfums de Marly Oajan+Thanksgiving 2024 Giveaway

Parfums de Marly Oajan for Thanksgiving

Burberry London, Etat Libre D’Orange Like This, and Parfums de Marly Oajan image by Steven

Many of our readers and viewers will soon be heading home for the Thanksgiving holiday; we hope you make it safely by plane, train, automobile or on foot. For those who can’t be with your loved ones, we chose three fragrances that feel like Thanksgiving and late autumn to us: Parfums de Marly Oajan, Burberry London, Etat Libre D’Orange Like This. –Michelyn

Burberry London (Antoine Maisondieu) 2006 is a warm blend of spices. The richness of cinnamon is balanced with the deep, smoky notes of tobacco, while the luxurious scent of leather adds a smooth, refined edge. Together, these ingredients create a captivating and complex aroma, exuding both warmth and nostalgia-Steven

Etat Libre D’Orange Like This (Mathilde Bijaoui) 2010: How do you celebrate Thanksgiving? Like This… Originally created for Tilda Swinton, Etat Libre D’Orange Like This is composed with ingredients that Swinton loved. Perfumer Mathilde Bijaoui wrote in her young perfumer article: “I decided to play around an “orange-colored” accord with various ingredients: carrot, ginger, pumpkin, mandarin, orange blossom, immortelle…”  Like This opens with a bright burst of neroli and yellow mandarin at top, accompanied by pumpkin, ginger and maple syrup-like immortelle. One spritz and for me, it immediately evokes a Thanksgiving dessert table at my late grandmother’s when I was a kid. While Tilda Swinton’s name is no longer on the bottle, she is there in spirit. Etat Libre D’Orange Like This embraces me like the memory of my grandmother’s hug.-Michelyn

Main Notes: Ginger from Indonesia, pumpkin, tangerine, immortal flower, Moroccan neroli, rose, spicy notes, vetiver, woody notes, musk, heliotrope

Parfums de Marly Oajan (Shyamala Maisondieu) 2013: Parfums de Marly Oajan (WAJE-AHN) is a grownup gourmand which is perfect for Thanksgiving and late autumn. Shyamala is one of my favorite perfumers because she always brings her signature international flair to her compositions. Oajan is an ambery warm perfume where honey and cinnamon are sprinkled on peachy osmanthus, reminding me of my grandmother’s version of struffoli (honeyballs) which she soaked in honey, cinnamon, and ground orange rind. –Michelyn

  • From Michelyn’s review, what stood out for me is her reminiscing about cooking with her grandmother and how this scent evokes those memories of a certain dessert for her that this is a more refined and complex gourmand, which doesn’t lean an overtly sugary sweet. A perfect scent for the Fall season with its rich notes of honey, cinnamon paired with the osmanthus. For Steve: When the temps dip and you’re craving a spicy, sweet, nuanced scent— Oajan is that one scent. A scent for him that is Fall, Thanksgiving, in a bottle. Whenever he wears it, he knows he made the right choice; that is pretty good endorsement for all Fall fragrance list.

  • As described, the dessert-like quality of Oajan is mesmerizing… as articulated by Michelyn and the honey balls, yummy! Reminds me of a nice cinnamon apple pie! The most thanksgiving fragrance I could think of is PDM Althair.

    Cheers!

  • AromaDulce73 says:

I would go with PDM Oaja. When Michelyn mentioned cinnamon and honey I was all in. This sounds like a great fragrance to wear on Thanksgiving.

Steven’s says Oajan is a great fall fragrance. I trust his taste so I would love to add this one to my collection.

  • What an amazing giveaway! Oajan is my favorite perfume by Parfums de Marly and I would absolutely love to be entered into the giveaway.

Steven’s passion for this Oajan was nicely introduced and expressed in this video. It really does have just the perfect amount of spices.

Michelyn’s review of Oajan had me craving stuffoli, which I’ve never even tried! (I’ll have to rectify that problem.) Her review of Like This runs parallel to my own experience of the perfume. It truly reminds me of memories of growing up. If asked about what perfume reminds me of Thanksgiving, I’d have to say that one!

    I live in Texas, USA.

  • Ramses Perez says:

Sadly this year I won’t make it to Thanksgiving to be with my family (I will for Christmas) but I do have fragrances that remind me of Thanksgiving like Giardini Di Toscana’s Bianco Latte. I didn’t know that Like This by Etat Libre D’Orange was crafted around Tilda Swinton. Orange must be her favorite color because the fragrance itself does have many notes that have that color. Burberry London is a more elegant and sophisticated fragrance for a night out in Thanksgiving or to share the dinner in family. Parfums De Marly’s Oajan has been on my radar for quite a while as it is one of the best from the house and truly a hidden gem. The mix of cinnamon, honey and benzoin is to die for and this truly embodies the Thanksgiving spirit of warmth and coziness. Yet again another amazing giveaway thanks to PDM. I’m located in the USA.

  • Happy thanksgiving to all you and families , we got a lot to give thanks no matter what for loss or gain

  • Garth G Wright says:

Oajan is a masterpiece! A cornerstone in any serious collection. Dark, sweet, rich, and smooth. The honey and cinnamon combination is to die for.

  • LATONYA GIPSON-BOWMAN says:

The article had me at Grown up Gourmand and the way Steven described Oajan, this would definitely be my Thanksgiving pick, the notes alone smell like a Good dessert on that day. I would love to win Oajan

  • Michelyn’s review was very helpful and detailed I loved that Steven’s video review gave me a better sense of the notes and qualities of the fragrances. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • Hello from England, UK.
If I were to choose between these 3 based off Steven’s youtube and this written article I would choose the 2nd parfum, Etat Libre D’ orange. Steven’s visual enthusiasm and description paired with Michelyn’s easy to understand written description and inclusion of written olfactory details and ingredients and what the memories it invokes. I love what scents do for me and is a chance for me to compliment a stranger. It always brings a smile to both of us.

  • Steven’s videos always entice me to try something new! I like how he says whenever he smells Oajan he knows he made the right choice. That’s great coming from such a perfume guru. I love how the fragrances are described in the article by Michelin. I adore how fragrances can invoke such fond memories. I don’t know if I’ve ever smelled something with a pumpkin note, but it sounds very interesting. I would love to try Like This. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Michelyn + Steven = gold. Stuffoli! I’ve only tried Indian honey balls but your grandmother’s sound amazing as well. You can’t go wrong with honey, in recipes and (mostly) in perfumes. Steven’s enthusiasm for all these scents creates real lemmings. Parfums de Marly Oajan sounds delicious, I am a fan of the brand, and I am especially happy that these three perfumes are linked to my favorite holiday. Cinnamon. I live in NY.

  • Some of my favorite fragrances evoke warm memories of holidays, especially Thanksgiving—and there’s not a single fragrance that gives me this feel more than Hermes Ambre Narguile. I love that Michelyn and Steven chose these three perfumes, they’re all reflective of different facets of autumn and the holiday season. I love that Steven reminded me that sometimes even the best fragrances have a special time and place to be worn, and we love them all the more for it. Oajan especially is an absolute stunner, and I’ve been pining for a bottle since I first tried it. It’s probably my favorite PDM because it’s so transportive and cozy but still sexy and alluring. Also, time for me to google recipes for stuffoli!

    Greetings from NYC!

  • I love the equation of scents with family and the Grandmother’s hug is so sweet! I always like to hear what other people think about fragrances I have tried, to get that comparision with another nose’s impression! Like This to me is more wildflowers and faint ginger, so it’s so interesting to hear that it’s autumnual for Steven and Michelyn. But I do agree with the other two, by the samples I’ve been lucky to try. Oajan is one of my favorites and my little decant is nothing but a dribble now. Thanksgiving is definitely a holiday for gourmands and CJ Scents Vanilla Autumn Night is one of my favorites for this time of year!

  • When Michelyn mentioned about the honey note and talked about her grandmother memory i was sold! I always love how Steven describes fragrances in his videos, which made me have a better understanding of the fragrance.
TF tabacco vanille reminds me of Thanksgiving.
    USA

  • Burberry London is a MUST for the holidays.
Tobacco, cinnamon, pine-y. Just screams Christmas is almost here (as well as thanksgiving).

Haven’t gotten my nose on the other 2, but will more than likely do so soon.
Michelyn’s description of Oajan being reminiscent of the stovetop boil of orange peel and cinnamon my mom (and now myself) put to boil during the colder months.
    Sounds amazing!

  • Oajan sounds like the perfect addiction to my collection and it would be my first Parfums de Marley bottle! I know the honey note will be amazing to my nose from what is described, I really hope I win, it would be the perfect Christmas gift!!!

  • Eris.can.swatch.kaos says:

What struck me right of the bat is the mention of my favorite actress of all time. I need to get my hands on Like This, simply for the Tilda Swinton reference. I do love Steven’s review videos and he really grabbed my attention regarding Oajan. This one sounds so perfect for fall and although I’ve never smelled Oajan, I can practically taste it. Fingers crossed. I am a Redolessence subscriber. I live in Oregon.

  • As always very informative reviews and interesting thanksgiving lineup! I think oajan is a gourmand lover’s dream. Love how Michelyn connects Oajan to her grandmother’s struffoli – those personal memories really make fragrance reviews come alive.

  • I watched Stevens video than came here and read the article. I am very interested in the immortelle note in Like This. The description of the scent from the article sounds intriguing maybe a carrot cake smell since its sweet and has a carrot note. Good luck to everyone on the giveaway.

  • Interesting subcategory using nostalgia and honey balls to evoke a Thanksgiving fragrance. I’m all for it! The fragrances were interesting, as usual. After hearing the notes for Burberry London I’m truly interested in getting a sniff, I’m all for a warm fragrance. Then to evoke Tilde Swinton is just unfair, ELDO is new to me and what they do in my opinion is attack your curiosity wit awesome names and eccentric ingredients. I’m a little scared if Like This but I’d definitely give anything ELDO a try, except one. But when you talk about a gormand PDM…yes please! Thankgiving, cinnamon, honey and vanilla sounds right up my alley. Both Steven and Michelyn painted just the right picture to stir up an interest in finding the perfect scent for my favorite holiday. Thank you for your reviews I’m have to go find a snack now.

I love that michelyn compares the PDM to her grandmothers sweets as this sounds like it be similar to my grandmothers baklava! I trust Steven’s taste so when he says this is a great fall fragrence I know I will agree. I’d love to win and live in Indiana.

  • Controlledbyscent31 says:

Steven’s take on Burberry London’s tobacco and leather notes has me convinced it’s perfect for those cozy Thanksgiving evenings. Thanks for the opportunity 🙂 I am in the US.

  • From the written portion I’ve had struffoli so I can relate to that. From the video I was reminded of Burberry London which I haven’t smelled in a number of years to go back to it. US

  • Thebluelotus says:

The way Steven described the leather in Burberry London got me intrigued, but Michelyn’s description of Like This really hit home. That pumpkin and ginger combination sounds exactly like what I want my house to smell like during the holidays! US

  • Never thought I’d be interested in a pumpkin perfume until reading about Like This. The connection to Tilda Swinton adds such an interesting backstory, and Michelyn’s grandmother memories make it feel so personal. Definitely adding this to my must-try list.

  • sourbergamot says:

As someone who collects fall fragrances, I’m yet to try Oajan. The honey-cinnamon-osmanthus combination sounds divine, and both reviewers seem genuinely excited about it. Steven’s enthusiasm in particular is contagious!
    I live in USA

  • Being of Persian descent, I appreciate how Shyamala Maisondieu brings international flair to Oajan. The combination of honey and osmanthus reminds me of our traditional desserts. Michelyn’s comparison to struffoli shows how fragrances can bridge cultural experiences.Cheers!

  • LavenderJuliette says:

The way both reviewers approach Oajan from different angles is fascinating – Michelyn’s connection to struffoli versus Steven’s appreciation of its technical composition. Makes me want to experience it myself! I’m located in the USA.

  • The tobacco note in Burberry London that Steven highlighted sounds perfect for autumn. I’ve been looking for something sophisticated but cozy, and this might be it. Though Michelyn’s description of Like This has me torn between the two! FL,US

  • Odor Aeternitatis says:

I always enjoy Steven’s reviews because of the shear amount of information he provides, and how his description of the fragrances almost makes it seem like you can smell what he’s smelling! I’m a huge fan of Parfums de Marly, and would love a chance to win a bottle of Oajan! Perfect scent for fall season. I live in LA,USA

  • MysticalArugula says:

What catches my attention is how Etat Libre D’Orange Like This manages to capture both the comfort of home and artistic expression – from Tilda Swinton’s inspiration to Michelyn’s personal memories. That’s quite a feat for a perfume.
    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
I’d love to own Oajan. Love the house of PDM.

  • After reading Steven’s review of Burberry London, I can almost smell that cinnamon-tobacco combination. But it’s Michelyn’s description of Oajan that really got me – honey and cinnamon on peachy osmanthus? Take my money!
I would love to try Like This. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Been searching for the perfect Thanksgiving fragrance and these reviews are exactly what I needed. That immortelle note in Etat Libre D’Orange Like This sounds incredible. Definitely trying this next….

  • What I really loved is reading about these fragrances is like taking a master class in autumn scents! Each one seems to capture a different aspect of the season – from Steven’s cozy Burberry London to Michelyn’s nostalgic Like This and a perfect giveaway. I am in the US, hoping to win.

  • Michelyn’s memory of her grandmother’s struffoli gave me a nostalgic kick. The blend of honey and cinnamon in Oajan feels like it carries family warmth in a bottle. Steven’s review also nailed it—it’s a fall must-have. Hello from AL, USA

  • fragrant_attention says:

What a fantastic selection of Thanksgiving scents! From the traditional appeal of Burberry London to the artistic expression of Like This and the gourmand beauty of Oajan – there’s something for everyone here.
Although I’ve never tried Oajan, I love the house of PdM. My favorite from them is Habdan. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • fragtrail909 says:

I loved the way Michelyn linked Oajan’s scent to her grandmother’s honeyballs is such a heartfelt touch. It makes me think fragrances are more than just scents—they’re memories.
    Cheers from the USA!

  • Fragrance collector says:

I’ve owned Burberry London for years but never thought of it as a Thanksgiving scent until Steven’s review. Now I can’t unsee it! Though Michelyn’s description of Oajan has me wondering if I need to expand my collection. Really intrigued by it.

  • Happy thanksgiving to all! Coming to the reviews,I’m amazed at how Etat’s Like This manages to combine such unusual notes. Carrot, pumpkin, and ginger shouldn’t work together, but Michelyn’s review has me convinced it’s magical. Steven’s Burberry London review was also good.

  • shining stones says:

Steven’s passion for Oajan is infectious. The honey and cinnamon notes Michelyn described make it sound irresistible for fall. I’d love to win this and try it for myself.

  • fragrancegorlie says:

Etat Libre D’Orange Like This feels so special because of its unique composition. Michelyn’s breakdown of its pumpkin, ginger, and maple syrup-like immortelle notes paints an incredibly cozy picture. The personal story she shared about Thanksgiving dessert tables at her grandmother’s makes the scent all the more appealing. Out of the 3, this one definitely stoof out for me.

  • Never really got the leather accord in Burberry’s London, despite it being an autumn staple in the fragcom for well over a decade. To me, it’s more of a wine-scented plasticine with a bit of juniper and cinnamon.lol I heard the reforms aren’t bad, so I might have to pick up a backup before they give it the axe. Fortunately, Coty is pretty good when it comes to preserving old fragrances so I’m not too worried. Did they really take Tilda’s name off of the Like This bottle though? I didn’t know! Only got to try it once (in the summer) and I couldn’t deny that it was uniquely evocative of the autumn. ELDO was never my favourite brand I won’t lie, but there are a few in the line that are enjoyable in moderation, Like This among them. Definitely haven’t tried struffoli! But if it’s anything like Oajan, it’s going on my holiday recipes list. lol Only recently starting getting the powderiness that Steven mentioned, but I’ve been layering with it for years. The quintessential fall honeyed amber, and actually layers quite nicely with Godolphin if you’ve got it on hand. “Cuir d’Oajan!” 😉 Not kidding. It’s good. Great picks all around, and I hope everyone reading has a wonderful holiday season.♥♥♥ CAN/USA

  • As someone new to niche fragrances, I appreciate how both reviewers balance their reviews. Steven’s gourmand descriptions are always delicious and makes my mouth water… would love to wear this on my skin. Would be hard to stop sniffing myself. Michelyn’s personal stories really help me understand what to expect from these scents.
    I am located in US.

  • I’ve always loved Burberry London, but Michelyn’s review gave me a deeper appreciation for it. She highlighted the luxurious leather and smoky tobacco notes, which I’ve always found so comforting. I am going to wear it tonight.

  • I’ve only recently discovered Parfum de Marly house and am quickly becoming a fan. Oajan sounds beautiful. Michelyn’s description of peachy osmanthus and honey notes are ones I love. Stephen also noted the spicy cinammon notes. All of this sounds perfect for the quiet, cozy Thanksgiving I’m planning.

  • Michelyn’s Reviews on Oajan made me feel a cozy Vibes. The smell of cooking and family during Thanksgiving. Steven’s says Oajan is a great fall fragrance I always trust his taste. Perfect for the Fall list of Fragrances. USA

Together, both their insights made me realize why I always reach for this fragrance when the temperatures drop—it’s timeless and full of character.

  • I love all of Steven’s reviews and I follow him on all platforms. His description of Oajan sounds like an amazing scent for fall and Thanksgiving. And when Michelyn mentioned the notes and the memories it evoked I knew I needed to try Oajan. The notes sound like pure fall perfection and perfect for Thanksgiving. I love all PDM fragrances and am a big collector so I would love to add this one to my collection.

  • Great descriptions by both of you of Etat Libre D’Orange Like This. I had never really checked this house out too much for whatever reason but man did you guys get me hungry talking about maple syrup pumpkin ginger. I’ve always heard good things about Oajan with most people saying it is a sleeper fragrance of the line. Even Steven said it’s one of the most incredible perfumes he’s ever smelled for the fall. Haven’t tried it yet but would love to. NYC USA

  • Leona Marchand says:

Parfums de Marly Oajan (Shyamala Maisondieu) Sounds amazing. I stopped wearing perfume for a while. Too many people told me perfumes bothered them. I miss smelling fantastic. I’m going to find a new signature scent.

  • From Michelyn’s review I like how she touched on the amber, honey cinnamon notes with a gourmand accords. I’m picturing it being worn by a person sitting by a fireplace all bundled up and enjoying family time.

As per Steven’s review he says a little spice and a little powdered but also cinnamon and honey. Perfect timing for thanksgiving!

  • I appreciate Michelyn providing the inspiration for ELDO Like This. And Steven’s description of the sharp ginger coupled with the pumpkin is so intriguing. But Steven’s lovely description of Oajan has made me definitely want to sample this fragrance for both me and my husband. Sounds absolutely amazing and perfect for this time of year.

    Ddelhoyo—USA

  • Ooh!! Good choices!! Parfums de Marly Oajan is DEFINITELY one that makes me think of Thanksgiving because of the apple-cinnamon opening. You and Steven nailed that one perfectly! I’d say Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit makes me think of Thanksgiving because it smells like a buttery sweet ginger cookie. It absolutely invokes the smells of pies and other desserts baking on Thanksgiving day.

    I live in the US.

  • Great choices for the holiday! Thanksgiving is about warm, sweet spices and comforting scents. Michelyn reminisces about her family’s desserts which emphasize honey and spices. Steven loves PdM Oajan as a perfect Autumn fragrance. MD, USA.

  • Emelinda Lopez says:

reviews of Etat Libre D’Orange Like This, and its correlation to ginger and maple syrup. That alone provided such a sense of coziness and warmth. The comment about taking it off the shelf to wear it more often was a good reminder for all parfum lovers to do the same. He is so detailed in his descriptions, I feel confident in my future purchases. Also the descriptions provided by Michelyn tie it together so beautifully, promoting such comforting visual and sensory images.

  • Daniel Rutan says:

Wow this is a great list for those Thanksgiving inspired fragrances. Both Michelyn and Steven do a great job describing these three fragrances. I haven’t smelled Burberry London in a while but I do remember loving it. Oajan is a personal favorite of mine. Happy Thanksgiving from Chicago, IL USA!!

  • Parfums de Marly Oajan (WAJE-AHN) is a grownup gourmand which is perfect for Thanksgiving and late autumn. Parfums de Marly Oajan Notes: Honey, Cinnamon, Osmanthus, Amber, Labdanum, Benzoin, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Davana. A very nostalgic memories from Mochelyn just a beautiful composition of honey, cinnamon andosmanthus just evokes holiday vibes. Burberry London and Etat libre d’orange like this also just as good with Leather, Tobacco and cinnamon. And lastly ginger, pumpkin and spicy notes just adds warmth and coziness. All great fragrances but Oajan is probably the best scent for Thanksgiving. Thanks a million from the UK

The curated list is fun. I think of the ones that was mention ELDO Like This is one that catches my attention because of the immortelle ginger combination and the cozy vibe. I think I would also like to try Oajan.

  • American Perfumer’s Tapestry makes me think of Thanksgiving—it smells like a warm living room by the fire, with comforting cooking smells filtering in from the kitchen, and traces of someone’s fine pipe smoke. It sounds like it overlaps with aspects of Burberry London, though Steven made the tobacco accord sound much stronger in London, and the leather takes it in a different direction. I also really enjoyed Michelyn’s blurb about Parfums de Marly Oajan; it’s always a pleasure to wear a perfume that reminds you of family you care about. Plus honeyballs sound delicious!

    I’m in the USA.

  • Steven’s description of Etat Libre D’Orange Like This makes me want to get my nose on it. Of the three fragrances I would wear would have to be the only one I have actually smelled, that being, Oajan. I live in the Pennsylvania, USA.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Warm, Cozy, and time spent with family. What beautiful scent memories, to be created. Each of these fragrances seem to be wonderful parts of the puzzle that are destined to create future fond memories. 🙂

  • I thoroughly enjoyed Michelyn’s written review of the three Thanksgiving fragrances. Her evocative descriptions captured the warmth and nostalgia of autumn perfectly, particularly with Like This, which feels like an olfactory hug. Steven’s video review was equally engaging; his detailed analysis of Oajan and Burberry London highlighted their unique facets beautifully. Together, they made me eager to explore these scents further. I live in Romania, Europe. As for a Thanksgiving fragrance, cinnamon and vanilla notes always remind me of the holiday warmth, therefore my go-to fragrance would be Carlisle – Parfums de Marly.

  • What really strikes me is how different each fragrance is while still capturing that autumn spirit. From Steven’s sophisticated Burberry London to Michelyn’s nostalgic Like This and that intriguing Oajan – they’re all such different takes on the same season.
    USA

  • What I enjoyed about Steven’s review is that he is very expressive and i could smell all the perfume without actually smelling them in person due to his descriptive words, I can relate to Steven and I can watch his videos entirely without getting bored but because of this I’ve slowly been adding new perfumes in my collection! I haven’t had the opportunity to own a PDM but it seems like Oajan would be something that will be best fitting for me!

  • Of all the mentions, Etat Libre D’Orange Like This sounds absolutely magical. Michelyn’s description of its pumpkin, ginger, and immortelle notes made me imagine the warm glow of candles on a Thanksgiving table.
    I’m in the USA.

  • Oajan’s honey and cinnamon notes immediately caught my attention. Michelyn’s description of it as reminiscent of her grandmother’s desserts made it feel so personal and relatable. . It’s amazing how both reviews made me feel like this fragrance is a must-have for the fall. I have never smelled it before, really looking forward to it. In the USA.

  • I like how Steven and Michelyn really know the fragrance and explains their own personal take on it.
I don’t own any PdM fragrances yet, and Oajan is one I’ve heard nothing but good things about, so I would love the opportunity to make this one my first from the house. I live in Texas, US

  • Burberry London’s rich, smoky warmth is a favorite of mine, and Steven captured its essence perfectly in his review. Oajan is my favorite perfume by Parfums de Marly. Love it <3

  • I had the chance to try this from a small decant and I absolutely love it. Simply gorgeous scent. A lot of people compares this to ambre narguile and it’s similar indeed, but for my nose Oajan takes the lead by a mile. Superb quality. Both the reviews were awesome as always.
I have Herod and a small decant of Layton, love them both, also sampled habdan, delina and pegasus (great juices). Thanks for the draw. US

  • As a pastry chef, I’m always drawn to gourmand fragrances, but many are too sweet. Oajan’s sophisticated honey-osmanthus combination sounds like it could be the grown-up gourmand I’ve been searching for.
    Cheers!

  • Perpetual collector says:

I blind bought D’Orange Like This last month and was blown away. The carrot note is genius – adds an earthy depth that keeps it from being just another sweet autumn fragrance. This is such a creative fragrance, and Michelyn’s review highlighted its brilliance.
Minnesota here, where fall scents are essential.

  • Amazing work Steven! you did it again. I love how everytime I try one of the fragrances he reviews it’s always exactly like he described it, really accurate. i think I’ll pick Oajan amongst three which were discussed in the review, so it would be really nice to win one. Thanks and keep up the videos!!

  • Swetrosysillage says:

I love this review. Layton and Herod are my top 2 favorite fragrances of all time respectively. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying Oajan yet. Steven’s video emphasized its versatility as a fall fragrance. The combination of honey, cinnamon sounds perfect for fall and colder weather. USA

  • Michelyn’s mention of her grandmother’s dessert made me realize how much a scent can connect us to cherished memories. Her review made it feel so personal. Steven as always rocked it with his fall lineup! as always nothing but the best.

What I love about Steven’s review is his laid-back, inclusive reviewing style..very personable and not a snobby bone in his body. He makes even very high-end fragrances appear approachable and I really appreciate that.
Michelyn’s vivid descriptions bring fragrances to life.
    I am in the US.

  • I think Oajan is the essential cinnamon scent to have. The smell is just to die for! I have only been able to get my hands on a sample of this so far, but it lasts a long time and smells amazing off the skin. Projection, Sillage and Compliments are a 10/10.

After Watching Steven’s Review I’ll be getting another sample as a back up at least until I can afford a bottle..

  • The leather note in Burberry London completely surprised me – it’s much more refined than I expected. Definitely getting this for my dad this Christmas. He loves those classic gentleman scents. Thanks michelyn and steven for the lovely and informative reviews. From AZ, USA

  • Citrus Paradise says:

Steven’s enthusiasm is infectious, and he always describes/paints a picture of the fragrance, which makes you just want to blind buy everything he gives the thumbs up.

From Michelyn’s review I loved her description of Oajan and Burberry london.

  • ForTheLoveofFrag says:

Finally a gourmand that doesn’t smell like a bakery! Oajan’s mix of honey and spice sounds sophisticated. Been looking for something unique for holiday parties. That honey-cinnamon combo in Oajan sounds so good. Chicago winters need some warmth!

  • I really enjoyed the reviews and description of the notes. Especially the delicious top note filled with honey and osmanthus. Oajan sounds wonderful!

  • David Furman says:

This is great reminder that turkeyday is right around the corner. We all have alot to be thankful for and plent to look forward to. I think we all can relate to her nostalgia of being in the kitchen and hopefully with your grandmother or closest loved one. Oajan is the one ive had my eye on the longest. The spices and warm ingredients all mesh and mold a creative blend and a winter masterpiece. Steven confermed Oajan’s richness and vigor that makes us all green with envy. Loved the synopsis, from Jacksonville, NC.

  • What do we have here? According to Michelyn and Steven the best Thanksgiving fragrances
I also absolutely LOVE when Michelyn is making culinary references
☆ One spritz and for me, it immediately evokes a Thanksgiving dessert table at my late grandmother’s when I was a kid.
☆ Oajan is an ambery warm perfume where honey and cinnamon are sprinkled on peachy osmanthus, reminding me of my grandmother’s version of struffoli (honeyballs) which she soaked in honey, cinnamon, and ground orange rind.
About the fragrances in the giveaway:
☆ Etat Libre d’Orange Like This to me is ginger and LOTS of almonds fragrance, rather than pumpkin pie with maple syrup. I see it’s sweeter on Michelyn and Steven
☆ Burberry London is upscale , polished around the edges tobacco fragrance. I wish it was stronger though
☆ Parfums de Marly Oajan . It’s a toss up for me between Herod and Oajan, for my favorite Parfums de Marly fragrances. Oajan smell like I’m having Cinnamon Rolls , and osmanthus tea infront of me. Of course I love Michelyn’s memories of her grandmother’s steuffoli
The smell of both Herod and Oajan equals the aroma of Thanksgiving celebrations
Appreciate both reviews, and the giveaway campaign

  • Thank you Michelyn for the kind words, wishes and letting us know about your family gatherings on Thanksgiving. Somehow you and Thanksgiving in general , made me think of something one of the greatest politicians in American history, John F.Kennedy once said
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.”
    Happy Thanksgiving
Burberry London used to be really good , not so sure and how it smells nowadays , haven’t smelled it in a while.
Etat Libre d’Orange Like This backstory is catchy, and I like Tilda Swinton , and eating pumpkin maple desserts
“Parfums de Marly Oajan (WAJE-AHN) is a grownup gourmand which is perfect for Thanksgiving and late autumn”
I keep mispronouncing Oajan LOL When I think Parfums de Marly , I always think Pegasus first, and the cinnamon and honey Oajan second. The two smell fantastic , last over 10 hours on skin , and projects beyond strong. I’d say both fragrances are well suited for Thanksgiving
Thank you Michelyn, Steven , Parfums de Marly

  • I love when a fragrance takes me back to a fond memory. Especially when it involves a loved one. I don’t know what a Stufoli is, but I want to check that out. If Steven says this is gorgeous then I would be a happy camper to win this. Happy Thanksgiving to all! USa.

  • Thanksgiving is not just a holiday centered around food and family , it’s way more. In the context of Thanksgiving and family love, Michelyn dessert table and her grandmother’s steuffoli memories are prime examples of how the term itself refers to bonds characterized by deep affection, respect, loyalty, and healthy attachment in your heart .
Speaking of the 3 co-curated Thanksgiving perfumes
Etat Libre d’Orange= Experimentum Crucis, fragrance I can’t get enough of. Like This is interesting because of the pumpkin note , and Mathilde Bijaoui playing around with various other ingredients like carrot , ginger, mandarin, orange blossom and Immortelle .
I vaguely remember Burberry London, tobacco, ginger and something sweet. Nostalgic fragrance i agree
It could be me, but I have a feeling most people are pronouncing Oajan “OH’-AH’-JAN” , grown up and I believe brilliant cinnamon and honey fragrance with lots of depth, and resins in the drydown.
Fragments by NVC Purpureum reminds me of Thanksgiving the most
    Thanks for the draw

  • Happy Thanksgiving to the whole Cafleurebon team, to Michelyn , all contributors and subscribers 🙂
London by Burberry, composed by Antoine Maisondieu used to be indeed well balanced, luxurious and captivating fragrance. Unfortunately currently available version smells not just different, but it’s significantly watered down.
Like This by ELDO , composed by Mathilde Bijaoui is a comforting fragrance. I can see why Michelyn and Steven believe it’s a fragrance suited for Thanksgiving, and the dessert table too , it kind of reminds me of carrot cake smell.
Shyamala Masiondieu composed a masterpiece imo with Parfums de Marly Oajan . Deep, full and resinous sweetness with honey, cinnamon and at least to me big dose of fruity “peachy” osmanthus.
My 3 Thanksgiving fragrances would be, in no particular order Intoxicated by Kilian , Oajan and Plum Japonais by Tom Ford
    All profiles I already follow , @waltherp99bg
    Thanks a lot

  • “Be grateful in your own hearts. That suffices. Thanksgiving has wings, and flies to its right destination.”
    —Victor Hugo

I love hearing stories about families, who love and support each other in good and bad times. Let we all be calm , and caring on Thanksgiving.
Burberry London is one of my dad’s favorite fragrances , festive fragrance.
Etat Libre D’Orange Like This , with or without Tilda Swinton in the name i own , at the very end of my third bottle too. For a very long time I was wondering why on my second bottle Tilda Swinton part is missing, and I’m happy Michelyn shared a lot of unknown details about the fragrance some time ago. Awesome pumpkin pie choice for Thanksgiving
First time I’ve smelled Oajan I was so WoW at the the smell, how conplex it was, and how it develops. There’s nothing overbearing, but the blend is really smooth. Other than the cinnamon, honey and osmanthus i can smell dried fruits and something boozy. “Lady Boss” fragrance i’d love to win.
Serge Lutens Fille en Airguilles I’d wear on Thanksgiving
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • When I read Michelyn and Steven reviews a few things came to mind other than fragrances, during te years I was living in Spain I had neighbors from Vietnam,I was always welcome in their house. On all holidays, Vietnamese or Spanish they kept reminding me of one traditional proverb they had
“When eating fruit, remember the one who planted the tree.”
Brooklyn, Spain , or Vietnam must be respectful of your parents, and the country that gave you the opportunity to thrive, and feed your family. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Burberry London is a classic I wear since it was released. There is a slight sense of nostalgia and warmth too i agree.
Like This I’ve never tried , ELDO fragrances are so unpredictable, Pumpkin maple, syrup and mandarin ? Why am I so late to try Like This ?!?
Oajan from Parfums de Marly is such a great fragrance, so full , balsamic and sweet , and heavy on the cinnamon .
Amouage Jubilation XXV and Parfums de Marly Oajan are the two fragrances that reminds me of Thanksgiving.
    Overly exciting giveaway , USA

  • Some of my most cherished fragrances transport me to the warmth and joy of holiday celebrations, and none does this more vividly than Hermes Ambre Narguile. I love how Michelyn and Steven chose three exquisite perfumes that beautifully capture the different facets of autumn and the holiday season. Steven’s reminder that even the finest fragrances have their perfect time and place deeply resonates with me, making us treasure them even more. Oajan is a true masterpiece. Blending cozy comfort with seductive allure in a way that feels transportive and magical. Greetings from FL!
