Esxence 2019: Nishane ANI Review (Cecile Zarokian) + No Boundaries Draw

NISHANE at Esxence 2019

Nishane is the first Istanbul-based perfumery (established in 2012) and from their debut at Esxence 2015, they have been a personal favorite brand for me. I might have been the first journalist to discover Creative Directors Murat Kutran and Mert Guzel in their small booth and we have stayed in constant contact throughout the years.

Nishane Ani Perfume review

There are so many Nishane perfumes I love, but this year’s Esxence 2019 debut fragrances, is, I believe their strongest showing to date.  Nishane ANI was certainly a standout.

Cecile Zarokian Murat Kutran and Mert Guzel NISHANE ANI REVIEW

Murat, Cecile and Mert courtesy of Nishane© at the NO BOUNDARIES party in Milan

Nishane engaged French-Armenian perfumer extraordinaire Cecile Zarokian (she was my choice to lead off our Young Perfumers Series April 2014), for ANI from the No Boundaries collection and it was one of the standouts of the exhibition for Ida, Ermano and Sebastian, who is Armenian-American.  Not only for its composition, but for its story,  which tells the true tale of a city torn by war and that this perfume was created with the hope to use scent as a way to heal Armenian and Turkish people; ANI also means “memory” in Turkish and during the creation process of Nishane ANI, Cem Karabacak, the beloved friend of Murat Kutran and Mert Guzel passed away. They dedicated Nishane ANI to the loving memory (ANI) of Cem Karabacak. “We also made our friends worldwide listen to that touching folk song during a private event/party in Milan on April 26th. The name of the song is Sari Gelin (in Turkish) and Sari Gyalin (in Armenian) that is a true indicator of cultural interactions and shared emotions by the people who lived on the same land. Researching the facts about this song, we see that Armenians, Turks, Azerbaijanis all claim that this song originally belongs to them but we believe that if anyone understands the true meaning of music they would not allow such political rhetoric get in the way.  Music is the language of the universe, it is more divine than to be intermixed with such political views.  So to underline our message that just like music, all forms of art including perfume creation have no boundaries.”-Murat and Mert on Nishane ANI- Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

  • A zingy vanilla. Funny, for me vanilla is the winter note par excellence. And ginger, together with lemon and other citruses, is a dominantly summery note. So based on Sebastian’s review, this should be extremely unique. Looking forward to try that. I love Hacivat by Nishane, and also the meaning of Ani (Anı?) is beautiful. I am from the EU.

  • tuiu silver says:

Sebastian review is always spot on and make me want to try new fragrances haha.
I’m a Vanilla Lover, so the way Sebastian described ANI as a vanillic fragrance with spicy and green, with almost “watery” feel to it, adding a fruity touch from the blackcurrent, but still managing to keep vanilla as the main player… It can’t get any better than this…

I really enjoy pineapple as a note as well, so my favorite fragrance from Nishane is Hacivat. Just gorgeous.

I would love to get the chance to witn this beauty please.
    I’m from US.

  • samppahoo says:

I would love a fresh vanilla, which is how this perfume sounds, by Sebastian’s description. I don’t have any favorite Nishane perfumes. Thanks for the draw! From EU.

  • Very informative review. The notes sound well blended. I’m a huge vanilla fan! My favorite fragrance from Nishane is Hacivat.

  • Ivan ROMERO says:

I’am recently turning into a vanilla addict and this new offer sounds great according to what I hear from Sebastian is singy and that really is intriguing me and would love to try.

  • I am Turkish guy and living in Turkey.I never tried Nishane fragrances before. But this topic and behind the story of Ani is made me curios about this fragrance.I hope i can win.

  • Sebastian always describes fragrances perfectly. And Nishane ANI sounds incredibly wonderful from the base of the review and the notes. I have never had a chance to try anything from this brand, but I heard a lot of good things about. Thank you very much for the chance. I live in Europe.

  • Chris Magee says:

I can use a new vanilla scent cologne,Sebastian reviews be on point ,this sounds like a great cologne

  • The little snippet of information that he gives about the Turks and Armenian was interesting, which became a great segue into the fragrance that sounds like a captivating vanilla scent. Recently I’ve been liking tea notes, so my favorite so far is wulong cha. I’m from NYC(US).

  • Herakleia Andreadis says:

    Hi there!
I just watched Sebastian’s review of your fragrance and i am really impressed . I would love to know more of Nishane brand as a Greek woman with grandparents from Instambul .
    Thank you
    Herakleia

  • Crisstyyn says:

I love Sebastian’s review, as i always do, i must admit such an interesting mix of flavours: vanilla with spices and citruses. This is a definitely must have ❤️ i would be extremely happy to win this draw. Thank you so much for the opportunity! I love Spice Bazaar from Nishane and i send you my regards from EU (both Romania or UK )

  • Adriano Bello says:

Really love this house , what great Niche house. Very intrigued by how sebastian mentioned its a very unique and zingy green vanilla, absolutely love Vanilla but its nice to see a different take on it 🙂

  • I was intrigued from the moment Sebastian mentioned the note of vanilla. And to hear that its incorporated in a unique way in this fragrance, I definitely would love to have it. I have not smelled any of the fragrances by Nishane, but I hope to begin with this. (Commenting from FL, USA.)

  • Raed Alfarhan says:

I’d like to try it. What I like the most is the description of the smell.

  • Gabriel Garcia says:

Great review spotlight by Sebastian, and love the idea of Ani, as a nod for peace, and relations.
    Also the scent sounded great.

  • I love your reviews and choices. I’m very excited to this release. And I love Hacivat from Nishane. I’m from Turkey.

  • JesusMcPwn says:

I like that he’s professional. A lot of YoutTubers want fragrances for compliments, but you can tell Sebastian likes perfume for its artistic value over all else. This review in particular packed a lot of information in a short time, no time wasted. And a nice briefing on the story behind this fragrance.

I’m from Canada. Favorite Nishane has to be Wulong Tea. One of the very few tea fragrances that performs!

  • smellslikehappiness says:

He had me at vanilla and spices. This sounds wonderful, perfect for summer. Thank you for the draw, live in the US.

  • I like unusual takes on vanilla, so Ani sounds appealing to me: it’s got citrus opening, black currant (one of my favourite notes) and a spicy twist. Gotta be a good one!
I only know Nishane by their reputation, can’t wait to try their scents.
    I live in Russia

  • Mem Por Od says:

I love the eloquence Sebastian uses when talking about unity through music. It’s an ideal after my own heart. He has a way with words.
I have not yet tried a Nishane perfume. I would love this venille beauty to be the first.
    Residing in Scotland.

  • Im a middle eastern lives in the US and its very hard to smell Nishane because where i live its not available.

  • As usual Sebastian’s description of Ani was very helpful to give an idea of what it smells like. He described the vanilla as “green” which really made me wish I could smell it myself to get a better idea of what that meant, as I am new to fragrances. The combination of notes sound very appealing to me so I hope I win! I do not have a favorite Nishane fragrance yet because I haven’t been able to try any.

I love Sebastians reviews. This sounds interesting. I am a big fan of Orientals. I really liked that he explained the history behind this scent. Greetings from Austria (EU)

  • I haven’t my favourite Nishane perfume yet, but I hope to try some of them really soon 🙂 I really like the Sebastian’s description of this scent, vanilla – green combination sounds very much in my taste. Also the scent performance seems to be outstanding. So I hope I’ll have chance to try this one as well. Great review ad always. I live in Poland.

  • greenhill says:

Great review, detailed and interesting as always. I was glad to hear the Rose was pretty subtle, as I find it can dominate a fragrance, when what I’d really like to enjoy here is the vanilla, misc fruits, cardamom, and sandalwood. I haven’t tried anything from this brand yet, but am excited to in the future. USA

  • ArcanaRunes says:

Sebastian’s reviews helps me beyond words. I am visually impaired so i have little sight and reading text is out of my ability withput special magnifying devices and even those don’t work well on all surface types. So its hard to buy perfumes, but with Sebastian he gives all the fine details in his review which always help me pick out good ones to go buy. He is always honest about the product and therefore find his opnions reliable enough to make putchases. Plus he adds humor to the mix. I live in London and my favourote Nishane perfume is Nishane Santalove

  • João Martins says:

Loved the detailed review as always. Really want to try their new fragrances because I love almost everyone from this house. My fav is fan your flames, but I hope I get this one on my hands to try it out I’m from Portugal, Coimbra.

  • TheCoconutCookie says:

Love the sweet smell signature of this one that Sebastian spoke about. I’m also Armenian, so the story behind the making of the perfume is very special to me!

  • Doni Light says:

Loved the whole musical backstory. Never experienced a vanilla with a watery greenish quality, although I know there is a similar combination in Ambra Calabria. Oooop, Sebatian just mentioned it! lol Still, I’m curious as to how that unfolds… Favourite from the brand is Sultan Vetiver. Soooo much vetiver in that one. Canada.

  • Unfortunately it is reasonably hard to sample the Nishane line due to shipping issues, expenses, taxes, or availability here in Beirut, Lebanon. Here you can find the usual suspects e.g. Ford, Dior, or Kurkdjian but rarely the more obscure, interesting houses. Sebastian introduced me to this brand as per ever, so getting a chance to try one of the brand’s perfumes – a brand that i can also connect with by way of Lebanon’s regional connection to Turkey but also the Armenian connection here in Lebanon; as i read the perfumer is Cecile Zarokian, who is the nose behind Jovoy’s Private Label, a personal favorite which I bought after Sebastian’s recommendation. So it would be a pleasure to get a chance to check Nishane’s work. As mentioned above, I am from Beirut, Lebanon.

  • dahmidrobi1 says:

Hi I’m dahmi and i have an address in New York ,

I really enjoy what Sebastian do in the fragrance review as he describing the scent like you smell it .. and i would love to try it my self ..

    Thank you ..

  • Great review from Sebastian as always. I’ve tried only Fan your flames and Spice bazaar from the house of Nishane and i liked them both, maybe a little more Fan your flames. The quality of the blend is simply amazing. Would love to try the hyped Hacivat and of course Ani. Thanks for the chance, greetings from Romania.

  • I loved the story of the song and three cultures claiming it as their own. Green zingy vanilla sounds good. I’m in USA and still have not tried Nishane but want to so badly.

  • fazalcheema says:

This is interesting project. Ani is inspired by a folk song listened to by both Turks and Armenians and the project is also a collaboration by a Turkish brand and an Armenian perfumer. Sebastian is also an Armenian so he is familiar with the song. It is primarily vanilla composition with watery and green elements. I am in US

  • Nishane as a perfume brand
All their fragrances are wonderful as they are very Unique
    such as Ambra & Ani

  • Love how Sebastian explains the notes in his review. Definitely sparks my interest. I have never tried this house before and would love to! Washington State

  • I love vanilla, it reminds me of my youth and with the enthusiasm of Sebastian and is review im sure ill love this fragrance. Sadly i dont have or tried any Nishane fragrances since they are out of my bugdet, hope to try in the future.
    Kind regards from Portugal.

  • When I was a teen song by Britney Spears was popular “Ooops… I did it again”.
Just like Britney was doing it almost 20 years ago, Sebastian is doing it now. I’m intrigued about Ani because of his review. So yes – he did it again. He’s not doing anything good to my CC .
Zingy green vanilla, ginger, black currant, Turkish rose in the background and also cardamom. Delicious!!!
Ani should be brand new-it’s not available yet , and I’m looking for a sample.
    I like loud.
My hubby owns Fan Your Flames , but I do wear it too. As I said I like loud , but Fan Your Flames is strong-strong. Fills up a room if you do 3 or more sprays. As much as I love it , I need to be careful.
Thank you Nishane , and Sebastian for the draw.

I always enjoy Sebastian’s informative take on whatever fragrance he is reviewing as it is not only interesting but it helps you make informed, fragrance, buying decisions.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s review of Ani and truly loved the no-boundaries music theme that inspired this creation. I have appreciated green and spicy vanilla scents recently, so this would be a real treat. I have tried a few Nishane fragrances at the Twisted Lily but I don’t have a favorite. They are quite remarkable though! I live in the USA. Thank you!

  • Enjoyed the review. Sebastian loves this one and mentioned it has a zingy vanilla. Haven’t got a chance to try Nishane so I hope I can try Ani and own some bottles one day. Thanks, US

  • I am giorgos and i m from greece! I saw a lot of sebastians reviews but unfortunatelly i can not find nishane perfumes in greece so i would love to try ANI cause i am big fun of vanilla perfumes!!!

  • AlwaysWater says:

I’ve never tried anything from this brand before but Ani sounds great. Thanks Sebastian for also describing the longevity/ projection, because I always need to consider that for work. I love a strange conceptual skin scent for at home, but if I’m out in public wearing a powerful one I need it to be a little more friendly. But this vanilla sounds perfect for that. USA

  • Ivan ROMERO says:

I do enjoy the way Sebastian describes the fragrances and most of the time I do agree with his thoughts and impressions about the fragrance in turn, the honest ways and he make it easy to see what to spect from it . So in regards the fragrance I will love to try it as I am intrigued by the zingy vanilla description hi did as I am turning into a vanilla addict!

  • ScentedMoments says:

Like always, Sebastian was very informative, objective and passionate in reviewing Ani by Nishane. A citrucy, fresh, green, vanilla scent? I’m so in! Especially when he said that the fragrance has some resemblance with Ambra Calabria, which I have and love. My favorite Nishane fragrance is Fan Your Flames. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway. I’m from Lisbon, Portugal

  • Through Sebastian’s short summary, I understand that Ani is a pretty vanillic fragrance. Sebastian usually posts pretty lengthy but in depth view on fragrances, however for Ani, he managed to keep it short and sweet which is great! I live in Singapore and would love to throw my name in the hat for the giveaway since it’s fairly difficult to source out for Nishane fragrances in this part of the world.

  • Ron A.G.S says:

Nishane is a House I’ve NEVER tried sadly and my to-do list is really growing…! ANI is a dominant & potent Vanilla as you’ve said and I’m 1000% stoked to be about to delve into this House and perhaps this bottle! I recently tried Roja Dove’s Kuwait and that Vanilla is just fabulous. Now, my olfactory senses are perked even more so when I think of this scent! What blew me away most is the Parfumeur you highlighted who’s the nose behind the blend! O-M-G….. Déjà Vu?!?! I’m a dear friend of Claude Marchal @M.D.C.I and through him, I got to know of Cécile Zarokian. It was only then I made the connection realizing this fabulous lady is the SAME -SAME NOSE behind other fantastic offerings such as Jacques Fath Green Water and others, as well as Jovoy. I absolutely ♥️Bleu Satin that she recently concocted for M.D.C.I and I’d be honoured to get even a 5ml sample of this frag. My very very best to the Cafleurbon Team and well as my fellow competitors for this giveaway…..

  • WaltherP99 says:

Wow Nishane draw… To me this is one the best,if not the best perfume house that came in the last 5-6 years-HUGE FAN.Everything about Nishane is top notch-great presentation, nice bottles, quality ingredients, good longevity, sillage and projection-fantastic….10/10.
Unfortunately i was not able to go to Esxence this year, so i can’t share my thoughts , but according to Sebastian’s review..should be a great one-combination of notes is fantastic , and the usual for the brand top perforrmance.
Bottles of Fan Your Flames and Pasion Choco. are the 2 i own atm in my collection.
    Top opportunity-thank you.

I am definitely a fan of vanilla. I can’t wait to smell a greener version with this fragrance. I’m from Michigan usa.

  • Ruben Lopez says:

Another great review by Sebastian by introducing Nishane ANI. I never tried any of Nishane fragrances and by the sound of ANI I think is something I would enjoy wearing in Florida.

  • I love screaming loud fragrances, I have a feeling this one won’t disappoint. I don’t own any Nishane yet, this would be my first bottle if I win. I live in Florida, USA.

  • cody mayberry says:

I like that Sebastian discussed the perfumer and why the house wanted to work with her. I also appreciate the link the other article on Cecile. I haven’t disliked anything from the brand but my favorite samples were Boszporusz, Karagoz, Fan Your Flames and Wulong Cha. Can’t wait to smell all the new releases they’ve put out this year. Cody, in Chicago.

  • I love vanilla fragrances and from Sebastian’s review, it would be very different from the ones that I already own. That is very exciting. I have not tried any Nishane fragrances yet, but I am hoping to get to sample Nefs before deciding if it is a perfume that I want to purchase. I reside in Canada.

  • Kyle Kopacz says:

Most of my favorite men’s fragrances are vanilla based. This one sounds unique though with a ginger note. Sub from the US.

  • My favorite from Nishane is Ambra Calabria! Yes, music & fragrance are fantastic for the soul! I enjoyed listening to Sebastian explain the notes in Ani. Thanks for another fabulous draw! USA

  • This fragrance sounds great! Zingy, vanilla, and Green! What a combo. Thank you Sebastian for the wonderful review, I would love to try. USA

  • Emma Brough says:

I absolutely loved Sebastian’s passion for this particular fragrance. (I watch pretty much all of his videos) and this one stood out to me from his passion and excitement for it. This fragrance stood out to me as well, as I’m obsessed with vanilla fragrances and I’d really love to get my nose onto this one!! It seems it was love at first sniff for Sebastian with ANI by Nishane and I’d love to have the same opportunity. I live in Sydney Australia (and this house is also difficult to find over here!)

  • citizenkage says:

I love the idea behind this fragrance. I love that this Turkish perfume house hired an Armenian Perfumer to create this scent. I love the idea of breaking down barriers and coming together, it’s a beautiful thing that I wish we saw more of. The fragrance itself sounds fantastic and Sebastian’s review was very honest and sincere as always. Thank you from USA.

  • Beautiful story behind this fragrance. The connection between music, countries, perfume and being human. Sometimes a song in this case that bond the citizens can be the healing force of politics. Such a lovely concept. I don’t have any Nissan fragrances. Everything I know I’ve learned from Sebastian. I love that he trusts the DNA of this house. I completely understand what that is like. I am in Clearwater Florida USA . I am a lover of vanilla and the black current has recently been catching my nose. This house and the fragrance sounds inviting and unique. Thank You!

  • Nathan Cherry says:

I loved Sebastian’s review because it was, as always, short, sweet, and to the point, while still being very descriptive. This fragrance sounds amazing and I love Nishane – especially Fan Your Flames and Hacivat. I’m located in Alabama, USA.

  • I don’t have any favorite Nishane perfume. I always say this, Sebastian is a great perfume reviewer because he brings to life all perfumes he reviews and you can even imagine or picture what they smell like.
    I live in USA.

  • RobertNicolasB says:

Spicy green vanilla sounds like an amazing and unique fragrance. Great review as usual, Sebastian!!! I haven’t tried any Nishane yet, but their fragrances seem to be picking up a lot of traction in the community. Thanks for the opportunity! -USA

  • Christopher HKUST says:

This composition as described by Seb seems like something truly innovative. It seems like a mixture of two different realms of notes resulting in a feeling of no boundaries.
My favorite from the house is WuLongCha as well Fan Your Flames. I find they are both amazing scents!
I live in Italy at the moment.

  • As always I enjoyed Sebastian’s review, and would love to try this one, as I’m interested in learning more about vanillas. I do not have a favorite nishane scent, but maybe this will be the one! I’m in the us, thank you for the draw!

  • A loud different Vanilla fragrance sounds like a great fit for Florida heat 🙂 I would love to win it though as Nights during the Fall and the winter here can get cold .

  • I like that this one is zingy vanilla which sounds unique and interesting. I did not have any chance to try and smell any offering from this house.( Illinois )

  • Great review, Sebastian! I really liked the fact that the brand reached out to a perfumer with Armenian ancestry. I like the green notes and vanilla together; that sounds so good. I’m in the USA. I’ve wanted to try this brand for some time.

  • Dcamp938876 says:

Sebastian’s personal knowledge of the history behind Nishane’s “Ani”‘s name was great way to tie into the purpose of the perfume with that being the quality and the idea of having “no boundaries. My favorite Nishane would be Wulong Cha, which I proudly own. I live in Miramar, Florida, USA.

  • I love so much the story behind this fragrance that I searched and listened this song about one blonde bride. Beautiful music. Vanilla, as is described by Sebastian, make sense. I am curious how the other notes of the perfume are linked with the song sonority.
I never smelled any Nishane. Maybe ANI would be the first. Thank you for this experience. I am from Romania.

  • I loved that Sebastian shared a personal connection he had with the help fragrance and also the history behind the meaning of it. Really helps to connect to a scent even more , then to give such a nuanced review was a bonus by that time. I love that he was able to detect the notes and explain them without the usual “it smells nice or its good” . A zingy vanilla? I’m in!

    From Ireland

  • Sebastian is as always spot on when it comes to review a fragrance. This one is no exception. Which has intrigued me because I’ve heard about this house but did not get the chance to sample some of its creations … yet 🙂

  • As a lover of the note vanilla I adore the idea of a loud zingy green vanilla. Sebastian review was top tier. I have not tried any Nishane but ANI sounds like a fragrance I would cherish. I live in CA, USA.

  • I surely enjoyed Sebastian’s laid-back, enthusiastic, to the point review. I have not tried anything from Nishane but this one sounds delicious and unique. Thank you for the chance…I am in the US.

  • Sebastian description makes me want to embark on the first plane for Istanbul and search for the first Nishane shop. Hungry, tired full of dust looking for the smell and the time evoked by the smell. I loved Suede et Safran. Lina

  • Ramesh Kailanathan says:

Sebastian’s reviews are always spot on.He is honest and clear when he reviews a fragrance. I always watch what the Guru has to say before I even consider making a purchase…so he is practically family now. Oh and his cute caps give him a slight dose of mystery too!

  • I appreciated the short history lesson and the explanation of the No Boundaries theme in the review by Sebastian. Currently reside in the USA, and I have no particular favorite Nishane perfume, but this one sounds awesome. Cheers

  • The combination of green and spicy notes with vanilla sounds intriguing. I don’t like gourmands, but vanilla is one the notes which can evoke a carnal feeling. I haven’t tried many of their releases, but I enjoyed Hacivat a lot and would have bought it, if it wasn’t for a slight pencil note in the base…

    Best wishes from Germany

  • DuftHochZwei says:

“screaming loud, but beautiful”, that sounds tempting! We own and love Ambra Calabria, and Sultan Vetiver is amazing as well. Would love to win this to Germany, thanks for the draw!

  • Sebastian knows how to impress his viewers. He described this fragrance with so much passion and gratefulness that it exists, which is what intrigues us and excites us.

  • Peace through a song and perfume. That is a perfect world. Loved the review by Sebastian. The history of the Armenians and the Turks sharing a song that they both identify with was lovely. If o lyn it was that easy to transcend politics! I do not have any exposure to Nishane other than what I have learned from Sebastian. This scent however sounds very interesting in that I love vanilla and have been obsessed lately with black current in scents. I am in Clearwater Florida USA. Thank you!

  • Very descriptive video by Sebastian as always. Vanilla is one my favourite notes, it just makes me feel ecstatic and I love every perfume that I’ve tried from Cecile Zarokin so far – Aura Sublime by Bijon, Remember Me by Jovoy. The only scent that I’ve tried from Nishane is Vjola so far, such a stunning floral! (Commenting from Bulgaria, EU)

  • Loved everything about the review. Haven’t tried this house yet so this is very inviting. The Fragrance seems like a scent that I would really enjoy. Count me in on the giveaway. Would love to give it a try & give you my thoughts on it.

  • Usman Khadim says:

Uniqueness and personal information is what I really enjoyed from Sebastian’s review. He has spoken so much about Nishane, how much he loves the house and their offerings in many of his videos and they are always at the top. With that being said their is no denial that nishane is one of the top top houses in nieche perfumeri. I would also like to emphasize on the No boundaries concept. Such an amazing way to bring people together. I can’t pin point one fragrance from the house all of their offerings are unique and of the highest quality. Hacivat, spice Bazar and fan your flames are very close to my heart! 🙂

  • Nishane is a name for greatness! Sebastian is always on point and inspiring! I own Fan your flames and 100 Silent ways ,both very unique and erotic! At least for me and the people that smell these. Love to try Ani sounds like a real experience.Congratulations to Sebastian and Nishane for such wonderful work!

  • Hassan Alnasser says:

Very interested in Vanilla and I really adore Nishane.

Sebastian is really great reviewer, I like how he can make you image how it smells, very descriptive review.

  • Peter Photopoulos says:

Sebastian’s review certainly provided an excellent overview of ANI – the combo of vanilla, black currant, ginger, cardamom…wow! I particularly found his description of the “no boundaries “ theme significant, especially in our world today. ANI appears to have something for everyone. As this is a new house for me, I have not tried the products; however, I look forward to trying ANI ASAP!!

  • Amna Aziz says:

I love that this fragrance evokes feeling of sadness and hopefulness and how fragrances can be used to help mood enhancement and feeling of wellbeing. It sounds like a warm spicy, musky and vanillia blend with green nuances. I have been intrigued by munegu from this brand. From the United Kingdom

  • Damn every videos lets us know every little detail of every fragrance, now I too am a fragrance head, and in love with vanilla because of this video haha.

  • Damn See lets us know every detail of each fragrance he reviews, I too am a fragrance head because of you tubers like him, and I am interested in vanilla now ahah. From Malaysia!

  • I heard about NISHANE from Dana Sandu and I was so intrigued and fascinated. Everything, from the name, design and description of perfumes are exciting me and put me in a magic story. I have been visiting Turkey, Istanbul, Ankara, Antalia. Konya.. And all of those memories came back to life when I read the article. Thank you. From Romania.

  • bigscoundrel says:

I like the sound of a zingy, green vanilla fragrance. I am a fan of Wulong Cha. I’m in the USA.

  • Vanilla is present in almost all my favorite perfumes, Nishane perfumes are a perfect balance between west and east, they have the magic of old Byzantium, they are NOT ORDINARY PERFUMES.
I have Spice Bazar and Pasion Choco and I guarantee you they are excellent.

  • Not yet tried anything from Nishane. First read about them on these pages. Would love this “unique take on vanilla”, I’m sure. Ginger along with vanilla sounds wonderfully different. US

Have yet to try any Nishane fragrances and Sebastian raves about them so would love the chance to win this. The zingy vanilla description drew me in as I love a good vanilla and am always searching for new ways of it being utilized. What a wonderful giveaway and thanks so much for hosting it!

I really liked about Sebastian’s video the way he described the fragrance in a really in-depth way and so that even people, who are not really into fragrances could get an understanding of how this one might smell.
Since I have no experience with the very exciting house of NISHANE, I do not have a favorite one of theirs yet, but that might change in the near future.
    Im from Germany

  • Koh Min Jie says:

I love the way he explains and describes how the perfume smells beyond the note breakdown which helps me imagine it better and give me a greater idea of how it would smell and be like. Sounds amazing! All the best notes mixed together is certainly one to look out for!

I am from Singapore. Sadly, no chance to experience or test any and have no experience with your house but would certainly love to given the great offerings available.

  • Jon Trimble says:

I really like the way Sebastian gives a great back story to the roots of the parfum and what it reminds him of. I don’t currently have any Nishane fragrances. Greetings from Las Vegas, Nevada.

  • Theredjay says:

This sounds amazing! Sebastian is one of the greatest fragrance reviewers out there! I am sure he will be spot on as always. I live in South Africa. My favorite Nishane fragrance is Hacivat.

  • Jessmar Fisher says:

I’m from Louisiana and this was a great review, I really wanna try some fragrances from this house

  • aurora_ru says:

Nishane is a great house from my favorite city, my current favorites are Spice Bazaar and Zenne. I like how Nishane works with vanilla, so would love to test this one. Most of the vloggers I follow on youtube and Telegram, had mentionned on their Top5 from the Esxence.
    Thank you for the opportunity!
    Europe, EU

  • Great video and introduction! I bought fan my flames and havicet and would love to own this Nishane Ani green vanilla. I like their work and Cécile zarokian is very good too

  • R.Q. Wallace says:

You had me at “zingy vanilla”! This is a fragrance I must try! I loved Sebastian’s breakdown of the notes and overall feel of the fragrance. I’m a huge fan of Nishane’s offerings. My favorite, that I’ve tried so far, is Spice Bazaar. I live in NC (USA). Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Oooo! I love me some vanilla, cardamom and sandalwood. Sebastian is a professional – one of my favorite things about him. My favorite Nishane would be Fan Your Flames. Thanks for the opportunity! USA

  • Hacivat will always be the best for me. I really like what they doin’. About the review for Anı, ı really like vanilla and when sebastian said fruity touch, fresh and vanilla; ı was really interested and excited. Looking forward to smell ! From Turkey

  • I’ve been lucky enough to test Ani at Esxence and it was one of my favorite new launches. Besides, I love both – the story and the peace message. And, as i mentioned it in countless occasions, no one works better with spices than Cécile – vanilla paired with ginger sounds like a great idea. Madrid, Spain. #noboundaries

  • When Sebastian likes a new fragrance so much, you can easily understand that it is a gem. I’ve never tried any fragrances with such a DNA, so I’m really excited to participate in the giveaway. By the way, vanilla is one of my favorite notes.
I am from the Czech Republic.
    Thank you!

  • I live in Turkey still couldn’t find a chance sniff on the Nishane new series. As a vanilla fan I can’t wait to try this new creation.

  • Hi, I’m from Lahiru. I would love to try this fragrance but, unfortunately Nissan fragrances aren’t available in Sri Lanka. I really liked the way Sebastian described this fragrance and this house. A fresh Vanilla sounds very intriguing.

  • marcopietro says:

Great review Sebastian! Your enthusiasm is contagious and you illustrate this new fragrance with words so evocative that the desire to try it is overwhelming.
The quality and creative level of the brand is so high that it is difficult to choose only a fragrance to put on top.
Perhaps my favorite in Nishane offer is Sultan Vetiver, but only because at the moment I am engaged with this note.
I have been interested in Turkish and Armenian history for years, I follow striking conflicts that tear up the region of their country and this is a further reason of interest to approach this proposal of Nishane. A creative journey so rich in suggestions and sentimental, historical and human references; that’s a beautiful and courageous initiative.
    I live in EU.
    Thanks!

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Great review by Sebastian and interesting to hear about the relationship among the converging cultures/peoples that this fragrance seems to pay homage to. Interested in this house and would enjoy participating in the giveaway, thanks.

  • Uncle1979 says:

I don’t want to go into politics super deep here because I do have a lot Armenian close friends, and some Turkish, and each and every time this topic is on there is sparkles, flames and sometimes big time group fights. Judging by a lot of comments , most guys here think it’s some old long gone conflict from the past – IT’S NOT. It’s still on , it’s deep , and will never be gone – period.
Nishane is a house I love . As a Pastry Chef, and a gourmand lover Passion Choco is a must have. Hacivat I own too – no it’s not Aventus clone , it’s MUCH better.
I do have plans of getting Wulong Cha bottle.
    Ani ?
If there’s vanilla, resins, top performance and black currant I’m in.
VERY IMPORTANT – Sebastian confirmed the rumors Nishane just started selling 100ml bottles. If you want to get a bottle price per milliliter will be better if you get the bigger one, or if you need 50ml you can split 100ml with a friend…if you’re into splitting of course. Just a friendly advice-for most guys into fragrance hobby savings money is important.
    Appreciate the giveaway campaign

  • Thank-You Murat and Mert I’m so sorry for your loss what a wonderful idea to dedicate this fragrance to Cem Karabacak and who better than Cécile Zarokian the great perfumer to create this vision I can’t wait to experience it. I Love Hacivat and Hundred Silent Ways Thanks to Sebastian’s reviews he’s always on point with his descriptions and he has described this Vanilla. Scent not avg but big interesting different with green ginger fruity Zingy he used and I’m so excited to get a chance to win a bottle, Thanks again Sebastian for great review!

  • Adam Norris says:

Been watching Seastion for some time and love all his content he puts out. His voice and presentation are what makes his videos so enjoyable. I am from Birmingham, AL.

  • Bubeto_GG says:

Sebastian’s reviews are always so good, that you feel like you need to buy most of the fragrances he’s reviewing.Bought 14 fragrances because of him.
Fan Your Flames is sensational . Deep . rich , potent . Over 14 hours of longevity , with at least 5 1/2 hours of sillage and projection. Bare in mind my skin is dry . If you spray on cloths …. weeks. I’m so glad i own it.
I like my fragrance deep , rich and potent , and to project , but that’s me. That’s one of the reasons i like Nishane , but be warned – if you come from brands like Atelier Cologne and Jo Malone , be very careful with the sprayer , because you could choke yourself out.
Vanilla with green touches and ginger , made by Nishane , created by Cecile Zarokian i want it …
    @Uncle1979 WOW
I never knew 100ml bottles are coming . Now that’s a pleasant surprise .Thank you.

  • Love the story & inspiration behind this fragrance.
my heart goes out to all the people who were affected by the wars, & I truly hope we human beings never allow it to happen again.
    Anyways,
I have read & watched really good reviews about this fragrance, seems to be one of the best releases of the year! From the notes, it sounds to be a nice warm cozy scent, I LOVE anything vanilla!
Please count me in for draw!

    USA BASED

  • I’m sorry I can’t edit my reviews I always forget to say I’m in the USA for the draw!

  • I am addicted to Ambra Calabria(2bottles already), I was never big on vanilla but Ambra Calabria changed my outlook and it’s amazing how well it works in hot climates. According to Sebastian Ani adds a zesty ginger, more vanilla to Ambra Calabria while keeping the fresh green part, so psyched and excited to get my nose on Ani. Nishane you won me over.

  • Yay Sebastian!
Vanilla fragrances are always great, very interesting note combinations – interested to smell the vanilla, ginger and sandalwood in this one. I love the concept of ‘no borders’ of this fragrance.
    In Canada.

  • I love the review because the fragrance presentation is spot on as always and also make me to be interested to test this one.

  • Harmandeep Muker says:

I watch Sebastian for an honest review of frags I would otherwise not find. Sometimes I disagree with what he says but usually he’s spot on. Vanilla, Tobacco, Cardemom are few of my favourite notes. I would love to try this. I’ve never tried any Nishane frag and I’ve heard so much about it from Sebastien. ✌️

  • wildevoodoo says:

I love vanilla and am always searching for one that can be worn in warmer weather without becoming heavy or cloying, so the watery green zinginess of Ani sounds like a niche I’ve been waiting to fill in my collection for a long time! It was also very interesting to hear about the history of the folk song and its multiple claimants. I have never been able to try a Nishane fragrance before, and would love for this to be my first one! I am in the US 🙂

  • redwheelbarrow says:

Great review. You had me at zingy vanilla and then you throw in ginger and a green quality? I’m sold. This sounds beyond amazing. Thank you for the draw, I am in the US.

  • Amirpasha says:

I loved how he described it, about the scent trail. My fav Nishane is hacivat and I’m from USA , California

  • Since I start digging in to this fragrance hobby we all share, I found out a lot of great brands on YouTube , or because of Cafleurebon. Not Nishane . I was introduced to this great brand because of a client of mine. I’m a Barber , and one day this guy came into my saloon with the BEST tea fragrance I’ve ever smelled Wulong Cha . Long story short bought a bottle the next day.
Class in a bottle- that’s what Wulong Cha is.
Passion Choco is the second Nishane I got. It’s delicious.
According to Sebastian Ani should be top vanilla fragrance. Some curve ball we got with the greenness, black currant and the spiciness. I expect big things.
    Thanks for the generosity
    USA

  • I’m curious if this is “zingy”? … seriously, this sounds really nice. I have no vanilla based fragrances. This would be a first. Sebastian does a great job of introducing new fragrances, and houses, to those of us in states with little local niche. Thank you for the opportunity!

  • A zingy green vanilla with black currant, ginger & cardamom sounds like heaven!
Wonderful art that accompanied the perfume briefly shown in the video.
Vjola used to be my signature scent and I had several bottles but ran out. I love this brand and am extremely excited to try the new fragrances. I am from the US.

  • My favorites from nishane are munegu and hacivat and hope to get my nose on patchouli kozha…this one sounds promising

  • I enjoyed his thoughts on the fragrances history. I hope this fragrance and intention was to bring people together. The history and culture of people are fantastic. I live in the USA and my favorite nishane is fan your flames.

  • I am most intrigued about the Turkish/Armenian touch in this Fragrance. I am originally from Iran 🙂
    Huge fan of the house!
    Farhad from Canada

  • To be honest I’m not the biggest fan of vanilla dominated fragrances but the way Sebastian goes on about how unique this vanilla is has me dying to give it a try! I do adore green scents! I’ve never had the chance to sample a Nishane fragrance but Zenne looks very interesting! Love from Canada

  • Sorry if this is a double comment not sure if I was logged in prior.
Not the biggest fan of vanilla dominated scents but the way Sebatstian describes how unique this vanilla is has me dying to try! Haven’t tried any Nishane scents but Zenne looks lovely.
    Much love from Canada!

  • Dubaiscents says:

I am a huge Nishane fan and I think Murat and Mert are two of the nicest guys! My favorite scent of theirs is Munegu but it is really hard to chose just one. Sebastian makes this one sound wonderful! I can’t wait to try. I also love that it is made in memory of a close friend they lost. Thanks for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • I love Vanilla, love loud and potent fragrances and love Sebastian’s Ani review! <3 <3 <3

  • Love the review & content on this fragrance. Not too familiar with this house so it was very educational. Looking forward to trying it out & giving you my two cents on it. But from the sounds of it, it seems intriguing.

  • I really like the Sebastian’s videos on YouTube because he is very careful and detailed in each vídeo. In this video, I particularly liked the historical context of the perfume, especially of what I observed, where clearly is possible to see and feel that when using the perfume there is a weight of the history of many people intertwined and not just a fragrance, I believe that it should be an expression of comprehension, understanding the others, union and also a homage to those who have gone, all this beautifully represented in a perfume that passes a set of emotions. I live in a city called Natal, in Brazil. Unfortunately I can not say I have a favorite Nishane perfume yet, because I have never tasted a perfume of this house that I hear so much about and I would love to taste, but the market here does not have many options and the import taxes are very very high, which makes it unfeasible. Thanks for the space to show the opinion of so many people.

  • I’m really interested in trying this “green” take on Vanilla. I appreciated Sebastian’s historical context and his descriptive scent painting. I’ve never experienced anything from this intriguing-sounding house. I’m in the US.

  • Vorajames says:

Sebastian described it well. Ani sounds great as an unique vanilla fragrance with green and fruity. I have tried some offerings of Nishane and I love Hachivat and Wulong Cha. I’m from Thailand.

  • lilacdays says:

Unfortunately, I’ve never tried any Nishane perfumes.

I enjoy watching Sebastian Videos and usually, I’m drawn to his vanilla choices. I also think very highly of Cecile Zarokian!

I would love to try out ANI, green and ginger-ish.

Many thanks for this draw. I live in France.

  • Rhawann El Hakim says:

I really appreciated the story behind ani, the history behind the art, and that Sebastian took the time to explain its significance. I want to try this fragrance because I’m sick of all the vanillas that smell the same, and because I love vanillas I’m always looking for the next best thing. I don’t have any perfumes from Nishane but I’ve always wanted to try Vain and Naive, Hundred Silent Ways, and Pasion Choco. Hellooos from Lebanon! ‍♀️

  • IvanVelikov says:

Zingy , green vanilla , ginger , black currant and cardamom and saldalwood in the base … mouthwatering description.Potent and loud i like a lot. There are two Nishane fragrances i love equally – Hacivat and Pasion Choco. Don’t know if Ani is potent and loud like Sebastian said in his video , but Hacivat and Pasion Choco. As i said i love both equally , but Pasion Choco gets me more complments … if you care.
Thank you Sebastian for the review , and Nishane for the draw.

  • pulpfragsn says:

Great review by Sebastian, love that he says this has a great vanilla in as I love some vanilla. Also a fan of Cecile Zarokian so I am excited for this one. I have never tried any Nishane perfumes but have heard great things, so definitely planning to try in the future . I am from London, UK.

  • Shannon Gaines says:

Greetings from Lexington, Kentucky, USA! I enjoyed Sebastian’s comment on how Ani was a different take on vanilla with the added green notes. I like vanilla in fragrance and am interested to try a different type of vanilla. I have only within the past week sampled my first Nishane fragrance which was Ambra Calabria which has since been added to my wish collection so I guess that is my favorite so far since I haven’t yet tried any others LOL

  • d3m0lici0n says:

Mmmm a fresh vanilla?? I’m totally down for that! Really touching story behind the fragrance too. I haven’t tried any Nishane perfumes.
    I live in the US
    Thanks

  • Thanks to Sebastian for this real beautiful review, Cafleurebon for draw and Nishane for this great idea! I hope two nations can live together in peace one day.
I like vanilla, and when it zingy, green – it’s perfect.
    From Armenia

  • Michael Prince says:

I enjoyed Sebastian’s review on Nishane Ani. I really enjoyed the backstory which tells the true tale of a city torn by war and that this perfume was created with the hope to use scent as a way to heal Armenian and Turkish people. Nishane perfumes from Istanbul, Turkey collaborating with French-Armenian perfumer extraordinaire Cecile Zarokian to make this even more meaningful. I haven’t tried any Nishane fragrances, but I have heard only positive things on Sebastian’s youtube channel. This fragrance sounds really special with bergamot, green notes, and zingy ginger in the top notes, the blackcurrant and aromatic cardamom in the heart, and the dominant Vanilla note throughout the fragrance. I live in the USA.

  • I forgot Spice Bazaar also looks amazing. I live in Canada, Sebastion thank you for bringing this line to my attention. I like how he compliments his videos with little anecdotal stories. I have a feeling Munegu would be my new favorite.

  • Alvin Vera says:

I’m very curious to try the house of Nishane after watching so many great reviews about it. I watch fragrance reviews daily and I’ve been saving to blind buy Hacivat based on the positive feedback I’ve seen to make it my signature scent.

Now I’m also curious about Ani because it has Ambergris and Vanilla combined. I am really hoping to take smell any Nishane perfumes because it can’t be found anywhere here in Philippines.

  • alvinvera15 says:

I’m very curious to try the house of Nishane after watching so many great reviews about it. I watch fragrance reviews daily and I’ve been saving to blind buy Hacivat based on the positive feedback I’ve seen to make it my signature scent. But after watching the review, I’m not sure which one to get now.

What I like about Sebastian’s review is hearing that Ani is composed of Sandalwood, Vanilla and Blackcurrant. Another thing is the resemblance to other Nishane because I haven’t tried any Nishane fragrance since I’m from Philippines.

  • Very professional job, Sebastian as always!! Thank you!
Really great idea, and I know Mert Guzel- very kind, intellectual good person- he did it with all unselfishness and honesty. I like Cecile Zarokian”s creations, and like vanilla very much. This perfume sounds very unique- zesty, nice, green vanilla!
    from Nishane I like Hacivant.
    from Armenia

  • NiceVULady says:

A zingy vanilla has me really interested. Loved Sebastian’s review and his enthusiasm for this fragrance. I don’t have a favorite of Nishane because I really like all that I have tried. Thanks again for a great review to Sebastian and thank you for the draw. I’m in the USA.

  • drewactor says:

I love that Sebastian refers to the scent as a green vanilla fragrance which sounds in contrast to me but seems to work well. Good review and thanks for the giveaway. My favorite from Nishane is Hacivet. In the USA.

  • patrick_348 says:

I liked the way Sebastian described the progression of the fragrances. I’m intrigued by how he describes it as a vanilla fragrance, but the vanilla, as he describes it, doesn’t predominate until the base kicks in. Sounds great! I am not familiar with other Nishane fragrances, and I live in the U.S., in North Carolina.

  • magnif2007 says:

Great review by Sebastian as I am excited about the Vanilla and him saying a little goes a long way so I know the scent will have great projection and silage! My favorite scent from Nishane is Hacivat layered with Hundred silent ways!!!

  • Great review – would love to try it! My favorite fragrance from Nishane is Sultan Vetiver.

  • Sebastian’s review of Nishane Ani, was very intriguing. I haven’t tried anything from Nishane yet, but after his review, and the way that he discrived ANI, I would love to get to know this house.

  • Nishane’ Ani, I enjoyed the theme Sebastian spoke about “having no boundaries” the ability to create something new/innovative unencumbered by deadlines, reasources or trends. That is fantastic. I am not familiar with Nishane; however, I love coming across great scents with great performance, with the inclusion of ginger, cardamon and vanilla notes-it sounds fantastic. I am from Canada.

  • The history and story behind the perfume were really nice to hear about. Sebastian always takes you on a journey when describing the fragrance. You can just close your eyes and follow along to get a good impression of how the fragrance might smell.

  • Always love Sebastian’s reviews! He’s so passionate and detailed. I havent been able to get my nose on any Nishane where I’m from, but I feel like I’d love Hacivat! I’d love a chance to win this! I’m from Pittsburgh PA

  • I’ve yet to try any scents from Nishane but have several on my wishlist. I very much enjoyed Sebastian’s review of Ani. I really like the combination of notes – spicy notes (I love how Sebastian keeps referring to it as “zingy”). I like that ginger is one of the standout notes. It really sounds terrific.
    I live in the US

  • Sebastian always reviews the fragrances like it it’s art and I like that about him. I’m curious to see how the ginger gives way to the green-ish vanilla he was talking about. I’m from Singapore

  • Vanilla oriented perfumes are not my favourite mainly because I don’t like sweet fragrances. But it seems from Sebastian’s description is it is zingy vanilla one instead.
I also like the connection amongst Cecile Zarokian, Cem Karabacak, the beloved friend of the Nishane duo, the song “Sari Gelin” (in Turkish) and “Sari Gyalin” (in Armenian) and the name ‘Ani’ – allt ied together with a hope and a notion of a more border-less geography. I find it particularly moving when sadly nationalistic fervour and xenophobia is getting worse in many parts of the world. UK & Bangladesh

  • Sebastian talks from his heart. I can see that he is inlove with ANI. It seems to me that i am able to smel this hevenly fragrance when he talks about it. I also like the meaning of ANI, and Sebastian make me understand how important is a fragrance with history.
I live in beautiful Romania EU, my country, my pride, my love. Unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to smell any of Nichane fragrance, and, as a parfume lover, I am so verry curious to try it.

  • LORI LAWS says:

An excellent review by Sebastian and I love the way he included some of the history of Armenia and Turkey! It’s wonderful that they chose an Armenian perfumer for this scent. I’m intrigued by it being a zingy, green vanilla. My favorites from this house are Fan Your Flames, Hacivat, and Afrika Olifant. Thanks for this generous giveaway and I live in the US!

  • Kenneth Earley Jr says:

Sebastian did a great review on this new ANI fragrance. He actually introduced me to the house of Nishane Istanbul a while ago. To date, I only own Ambra Calabria but have sampled many others. The way he described the vanilla in ANI sounds amazingggg and made me want to enter the contest. So here I am lol – thanks for the opportunity. I’m in the US.

  • DulciusExAsperis says:

I like his description of the vanilla as “zingy,” I’m intrigued by the green notes and dominant ginger. I don’t have a favorite Nishane as I don’t think I’ve tried any, but would like to! I’m in the USA.

  • Love the zingy green notes he talks about. Very interesting! Love Hacivat from Nishane. From Singapore.

  • I love vanilla scents. “Zingy” (as Sebastian calls it) sounds very intriguing. I’m not sure I can evening visualize that! I would love to get my nose on this though. USA

  • fad.bin.ahmed says:

The notes what Sebastian mentioned are really interesting. Nishane’s Sultan Vetiver is already in my wish list, i guess I need to add this one as well in my wish list!

  • Sega Fall says:

How he describes the vanilla vibe is wonderful
    Wow it sounds gorgeous
I really like Nishane house with great fragrances like Hacivat which is incredible

  • Ruben Lopez says:

Sebastian Jara, Is one of the most passionate fragrance reviewers that I continue to watch. His discription of Nishane ANI is on point and sounds wonderful with vanilla and those blended citruses. Sounds like a fragrance I could wear all year round in Florida.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed his careful breakdown of al the facets
I love discovering new niche houses through his videos, as well as all the interviews with people from (within) the industry. He seems honest and sincere and seems involved in the whole fragrance world, not just the scent or the house of the week. I was surprised to learn about the expensive and precious ingredients (real ambergris?). I absolutely love vanilla. They say natural vanilla is the most complex fragrance from a single ingredient. Real quality oud and castereum is probably up there, but there might be something to that claim. It’s incredibly rich for such a soft, comforting note. This one sounds very natural and smooth. It also sounds very oppulant, rich, and “deep”. I hope to be find out if true. My fav Nishane frag is Suede et Safran. One world, one people, one love! I am from the EU (The Netherlands).

  • What I enjoyed about Sebastian’s YouTube review of Nishane ANI is the clarity of the review and the fact that it has a clear and beautiful vanilla scent. Ani is my favorite Nishane fragrance. I am from Morocco.

  • I own Hacivat and Sultan vetiver! I would love to try this Ani! Nishane is just the best of the best in every aspect of a fragrance. Love the scents, the long time projection, and the whole performance aspect!! Please keep it up and the same Nishane WE LOVE YOU!!
