Esxence 2019:  Maison Gabriella Chieffo 1,2,3 Stella Review ! + Time to Soar Draw

Gabriella Chieffo at esxence 2019

Gabriella Chieffo and Danu Seith-Fyr, Esxence, 2019

One of my favorite perfumes at Esxence 2019 was Gabriella Chieffo 1, 2, 3 Stella. Her fragrances are magnetic charges that draw me to  the  Maison Gabriella Chieffo collection  as I know without doubt that I will recognise components of myself within the stories that speak from Gabriella’s scents. She has the rare ability to translate deep and fragile human emotions, capturing those moments of life, delicate strands drawn out of ecstasy or torment and those moments of revelation and strong change.

Gabriella Chieffo 123 Stella review

Josephine Cardin

‘And I will breathe from jasmines the tyrant song, in waves of sea and wonder to become another me, suspended from you, to pursue destinies, to enchant happiness.’  Gabriella Chieffo.

Maison Gabriella Chieffo 123 Stella review

Karya, Christian Martin Weiss

Gabriella Chieffo 1,2,3 Stella is the children’s game of statues, herald’s transitions that are revelatory, held within thoughts until courage is gifted.  Traversing life knowing of some imbalance, how often we must be frozen in time, taken to the teetering pivot edge. To the point where we are stilled, in sudden acknowledgement that change is undeniably imminent. Like in the game of children, careering through the playground, faster and faster yet at the call, ‘1 2 3 Stella’, we are shocked into motionlessness, whilst the world turns.  In clarity we can see what is required and know without doubt that to not heed would be folly. Those collisions out of sheer coincidence that draw back the veils in luminescence, like a streetlight cast into shadows revealing a new direction in the road.

Drink in the disequilibrium, feel the certainty of the imbalance, welcome it as the way to step beyond the fears and retrieve the swallowed self, lost in family history or relationship compromise. In the unsteadiness find again the foothold. Boldness and courage draw us on, no other way possible.

via Gabriella Chieffo

Solitudes realised and detachments sought to be something different, something else. I can’t exist as you want me too, I can’t walk your steps with my shoes, I can’t write the script you dictate.’ Gabriella Chieffo.

Ginger, Mandarin and Bergamot liberally saturated with salinity invokes me to re-join the wonder state of the infant, remembering how I began, how clear the world was perceived and how I discovered, little by little my internal self. The feeling of tender reactions in the moment without adult preconception.  It wakens in me the necessity for essential self-truth and non-deception in actions.  How often do we know inherently the path of our Truth, yet shy away?

Gabriella Chieffo review Stella 213!

Chiara Fersini Collage, Danu Seith-Fyr.

Lightness extreme at its floral core, it exudes a clarity which is beyond challenge, a beautiful rendition of floral composition replete. Thoughts turn to right action, stepping out of the confines of bondage imposed by others.  Jasmine, creamy and full, a confirmatory encompassment, interlacing a tuberose so freshly sprung, wrought through with a verdancy that speaks in a fragile tumult of the restored Self, an inevitable naissance. Centre stage it takes me to an aperture in a grey landscape where upon stepping through I am shown glorious florals in abundance, ylang ylang and lilac complete the serenity of the taken decision.

Gabriella Chieffo 123 Stella review

Song of Moonflower, Brooke Shaden

There on the other side, the relief of the confirmation tinged in hues of the as yet unknown, a realignment of self-harmony, balance redressed,  the sheen imparted musks, wood’s and amber, cajole a calmness after great change, the butterflies wing beat felt as hurricane subsides, the bitter cacao a herald of triumph, that the edge of the blade has been sharpened, life has been bought into a defined focus and footsteps know their way on unfamiliar ground.  This evolvement of 1, 2, 3 Stella percolates me with a refined excitement within, of something immense yet essential achieved and the way full of potential, a life renewed.

Notes: Ginger, Green Mandarin, Bergamot, Saline notes, Jasmine, Tuberose, Ylang Ylang, Lilac, Musk, Sandalwood,Patchouli, Amber, Bitter Cacao,Oakmoss

  • Some fantastic notes in this one, and some of my favorites. I could see this fragrance going many different ways depending upon the concentration of each note. Very intriguing that this fragrance could be considered an emotion translated. I very much would like to try this, thank you for the chance. I live in Canada.

  • “the serenity of the taken decision.” ☺ I’d like to try this sensation with this fragrance. Thank you for the review . I live in EU.

  • What a beautiful review, Danu! It makes me think of angels. Thanks for the opportunity to sniff! USA

  • So philosophical review! Interesting style of telling about perfume! Bravo! But little bit heavy to read, IMHO)
I like this final part “that the edge of the blade has been sharpened, life has been bought into a defined focus and footsteps know their way on unfamiliar ground”.
Yes, I agree very interesting pyramid!

  • Never had the chance to try Saline notes combined with Jasmine and Tuberose but this one must be a real piece of art or at least the notes list leads to that. Thanks for this review, I would love to get a sniff of this composition. I am from Romania.

  • strangedim says:

Thank you, Danu! I found myself in every word and I kept reading completely forgetting it’s a review. In the end I felt the serenity that comes with understanding that ‘the only constant is change’.
    I do hope that 1, 2, 3 Stella will give me a similar state…
I’m at the beginning of a rainy night (in Romania) and for a moment childhood with its clarity doesn’t seem so far away.

  • The poems are breathtaking! It can relate to every human being who dares to take an introspection. I would love to experience this fragrance.
    I live in Germany.

  • This perfume sounds so amazing from the base of the notes and the review. And the bottle is also very good looking. I would very love to try it. Thank you for the chance. I live in Europe.

  • Damiana C says:

Having grown up in Italy, I am completely familiar with 1, 2, 3 … Stella, a game we used to play over and over again. Part of the challenge is to try and catch the players off balance so they get disqualified and do not reach the finish line. I am intrigued that Gabriella Chieffo has recreated the thrill and excitement of those days through notes that connect us to our childhood. I live in the USA.

  • Danu’s review was so lovely. So volatile yet so grounding, both in words and in olfactory composition, judging by the notes.
…Such a particular choice of elements! Freshness from the citrus and ginger, I am guessing quite a heady and indolic floralness from the jasmin, tuberose and ylang, and…cacao? I really cannot imagine that, but it definitely sounds interesting. Would love to try it. Thanks for the chance! From EU.

  • What appeals to me is the salt notes. This sounds like a great perfume for the coming summer. US

  • I’ve only tested the fragrance called “Ragú” from this house and i liked it a lot, super quality. While i’m not the greatest floral fragances lover, from the review this perfume sounds pretty nice and i would love to try it. Thank you for the chance, i’m in the EU.

  • It just came back to me that we used to play this game. Someone would yell out *Freeze*. It was fun! 1, 2, 3 Stella has inspired quite a poetic review. I would definitely want to experience this perfume. Also – white flowers plus lilac – heavenly. Live in the US.

  • fazalcheema says:

It looks like quite a unisex creation that starts on floral and fruity notes and ends on woody notes. Plus it has jasmine, a note I enjoy very much. I am in US

  • Marvalicious says:

Amber, bergamot, jasmine, oakmoss, ginger mandarins, etc. are all notes I LOVE in fragrances. The way she describes the fragrance as a children’s game where they freeze (like a statue) as the fragrance envelopes you the world still spinning all around you. You’re swept away frozen in time and space!!! I love this description. I want to try this fragrance myself just to have the pleasure of experiencing this. I’d love to win this fragrance. I live in Indiana USA

  • I love the idea behind this fragrance. It seems fragile and sheer but also it has some intensity to it. Kind of like a veil concealing something special. I would love to try 1,2,3 Stella. Thank you for the review and the giveaway. In the USA.

Great review and I have enjoyed Gabriella Chieffo’s creations! What appeals to me most about 1, 2, 3, Stella is the idea of “here upon stepping through I am shown glorious florals in abundance, ylang ylang and lilac complete the serenity of the taken decision.” Sounds glorious!! I am in the U.S.

  • This sounds like a lovely jasmine. I need to find some lighter jasmines like this sounds. Most of mine are beutiful but heavy. Thanks for the review and the draw. USA

  • doveskylark says:

I always welcome ways to “step beyond the fears and retrieve the swallowed self.” How beautifully put, like everything in Danu’s review. I can completely see how the notes of ginger, mandarin, and bergamot can re-align and bring back balance when everything seems so frazzled.
    I live in the USA.

  • “Lightness extreme at its floral core, it exudes a clarity which is beyond challenge..” makes me feel curious about it! Thx, Romania

  • redwheelbarrow says:

Oh to be able to write like this. I loved this review. The imagery is captivating here: “Centre stage it takes me to an aperture in a grey landscape where upon stepping through I am shown glorious florals in abundance, ylang ylang and lilac complete the serenity of the taken decision.” Such an interesting combination of notes here from the florals to the cocoa to the saline. My curiosity is piqued. I am in the US and thank you for the draw.

  • This speaks to that place of quiet, inner strength that surrenders and overcomes the tallest of mountains. I would love to experience 1,2,3 Stella, thank you for the draw. Live in the US.

  • samppahoo says:

Very interesting how the review managed to capture the poetry of a perfume inspired from a children’s game. I would like to try it because I think the blend of notes sounds unusual. I live in Finland.

  • What appeals to me about Gabriella is a fragrance that takes you back to being infant. The softness and love of a new beginning. I live in CA, USA.

  • NiceVULady says:

What a fascinating combination of notes. I can’t quite wrap my head around what this must be like, which is a good thing considering so many new fragrances smell alike. Lovely review. Thank you for the draw. I’m in the USA

  • Beautiful article! A realignment of self-harmony. This is a lovely statement and would love to try this fragrance. Thank you for the chance. USA

  • wildevoodoo says:

Wow, the dreamlike or trancelike feelings described as being invoked by this fragrance in the review and the accompanying artworks provided are very complementary. Danu makes the fragrance sound sparkling, translucent, ethereal, and in constant motion, shifting with nervous anticipation, wonder, and excitement. And the notes- ‘ginger, mandarin, and bergamot liberally saturated with salinity’- how tantalizing! I adore salty fragrances! Many thanks to Sig.ra Chieffo for the chance to try this creation. I am in the US!

  • I love that the fragrance is named after a children’s game yet the fragrance doesn’t sound childlike. Maybe innocent? I never heard of this game and learned something. We con’t play it in the states. I’m in USA. Thanks Cafleurebon for always teaching me something about fragrance and something about life. I love the multicultural aspect of this blog with reviewers from all over the world.

  • Those notes sound divine. The ginger drew me in and I’ve been looking for something with jasmine and tuberose specifically. The step by step method of telling about the notes and fragrance development was an interesting way of doing it, leading up to the ‘sense of achievement’. Thanks so much for the giveaway! I live in the USA.

  • Beautiful to be children again and through a perfume even more, I hope to find the outdoor places and the lightness of childhood, the fragrances of this Maison are recognizable by their “Italianness”, I use “Latte d’oro” it is a caress perfumed.
In spring it is fun to be able to return as a child, thanks ……
