Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool Review (Marco Genovese) 2025 + Desert Dates Giveaway

Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool

Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool by J.

Moroccan Medjool is the latest release from Electimuss London’s Explorer Collection. This time, perfumer Marco Genovese, the perfumer behind the stunning Black Caviar, amongst others, takes us from under the early morning stars and leads us on a new adventure as the sun rises over the desert. It sparkles as it opens, feeling like a gem uncovered from the desert sands. A rich juicy blast of citruses feels like dancing light rays with alluring fruity facets creating a transportive sensation. You can feel the zing of the grapefruit zest with lemon getting creamy as it melts into a cool morning desert breeze conjured by an aromatic cardamom. It shimmers in greens, yellows and golden tones slowly revealing florals and soft spices, but not before a rich plump date appears at Moroccan Medjool’s heart fleshing out this treat.

Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool wears like a mirage, it’s composed in soft semi-transparent layers that flow over each other creating a hazy allure. A soft fruity aroma captures your attention and beckons you closer to where the citruses sharpen and are tart, This sets the scene for a banquet of rich sweeter facets and working as a clever counter point by making the sweet materials have a darker depth. Grapefruit grows rich and darker as deep caramel and silvery honeyed tones enter the scene. The date of the name, Medjool, shines here as its deep caramel sweetness is revealed, as if you have plucked and pulled apart one of these plump and juicy dates.

Medjool dates are my favourite kind, it’s a refined delicate yet deep and delicious caramel with a stone fruit aroma, and here in Moroccan Medjool it’s embellished with a bouquet of stunning flowers. Rose and jasmine petals adorn these delicious dates, the rose is fragrant, honeyed with ylang ylang giving a delicate silky feel to the rose’s petals while carnation adds a gentle soft fuzz and whisper of spice. The jasmine though has other ideas. It embellishes the sensual plump fleshy feel of the dates, giving off purring indolic desires. As you taste more of the dark caramel dates this dank jasmine rises up in a rather seductive and intoxicating manner. Both the rose and jasmine are here in abundance, but Moroccan Medjool is balanced with those sweeter tones making it feel opulent.

All through the wear Moroccan Medjool has this mineralic sand like feel, it lingers at the edges, as if the presence of the desert sketched around you. Elements of the grapefruit’s biting zest and cardamom’s aromatic spice began this adventure, foreshadowing the cashmeran that’s revealed as Moroccan Medjool dries down. Hints of this are also revealed in the carnation, giving you that soft sensual feel as if you’re touching the petals of the flower, though it’s cashmeran that’s bringing the desert warmth to the composition. It thickens up the translucent feel of Moroccan Medjool with a spicy musky warmth making the sunrise with a woody floral undertone summoning all those beautiful flowers as they merge into a mirage like bouquet. Some soft woody pencil shavings with dry sandy facets again work as a stunning counterpoint to the dark caramel of the dates.

Moroccan Medjool took me a back, the first time I wore it, it’s just before the final dry drown as the dates and flowers merge into one that’s sent my mind racing, I’ve eaten something similar to how this smells, dates adorned and enriched with rose, I can’t quite remember where or when, but each time it reaches this point that hazy memory of enjoyment is triggered. There’s a lovely saltine too, an umami that makes all the sweet florals smell more appealing. Under this date and floral caramel is a dusting of vanilla with a shimmer of veramoss’ cool icing sugar oakmoss fizz and sweetness. Again, it’s those clever translucent layers working and flowing over each other conjuring this complex dark musk that seems to glow like honey yet feels dry like the desert, while also giving you this rich gourmand dessert. Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool is dreamy to wear, as if you’re moving closer to a tempting fantasy that is harder to grasp growing darker but making you keep wanting more.

Notes: Date, Grapefruit, Lemon, Cardamom, Bergamot, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Carnation, Cashmere Wood, Ambergris, Oak Moss, Vanilla and Caramel.

This new Explorer Collection I feel is what Electimuss was missing. Not a house known for being straight up gourmand or fruity with their releases, they’re venturing into new territory and it’s paying off! Moroccan Medjool, and I’m writing this as I am physically in Marrakech, does give a very Moka feel. Dates, spices and a dusting of sweetness is how I’d described Morocco to be. Exploring new territory through fragrances and then comparing them to the real life experience it’s truly magical. I’m located in the USA.

  • J’s review of Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool captivates with its vivid, poetic imagery, painting a sensory journey through a desert sunrise. The description of the fragrance’s evolution from the zesty sparkle of grapefruit and lemon to the rich, caramelized depth of Medjool dates adorned with sensual jasmine and honeyed rose creates a compelling, almost tangible experience. The way J weaves in the mineralic, sandy undertones and the mirage like layering of notes makes the perfume feel both exotic and intimate, evoking a memory of indulgence that’s both elusive and alluring. It’s a beautifully crafted narrative that makes you want to smell the fragrance yourself. I live in Poland, EU.

This fragrance seems really interesting A desert dessert with dates, roses, and vanilla. I’d love to give it a try. I live in Maryland USA.

  • You had me at date, rose and cardamon. But adding carnation and oakmoss I’m all yours. This sounds dooo dreamy and rich. I’d love to try this. I’m in the U.S.

Hello from Greece! J’s review of Electimuss Moroccan Medjool was absolutely captivating — I was transported by the image of a cool desert morning, unfolding into layers of citrus, spice, and finally the warm, caramel-like sweetness of Medjool dates. I especially loved the description of jasmine and rose adding sensuality and depth to the composition. I’ve tried and enjoyed Electimuss Amber Aquilaria before, but now I’m truly intrigued by Moroccan Medjool. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

  • Ah yes – the increasingly popular, stunning bottled excellence that is Electimuss. I am incredibly impressed by their fragrances, their storytelling, and their ability to convey more than just olfactive excellence with each new release of theirs. From the marketing I see on my Facebook feed, to the packaging, descriptive nature of their matrials, and finally, to the scents themselves. Trajan and Imperium are two in my regular rotation, and Medjool is one I have been aching to try. And what I love about J’s review, and what I hope to experience in the fragrance, is how a scent can be more than just a “gourmand”, but actually transport you to a time or a place when you experienced that food. I hope to also experience “hazy memories” when smelling Medjool, and I had to leave my post dripping with as much anticipation as possible, because even though words can’t be as delectable as a fragrance, I’ll do my best to make them so.

  • I’m a huge fan of rose fragrances, and I don’t think I’ve smelled something described as desert like. Very interesting to think about a sweet fruit, rose, and mineral scent. Considering J described it as “umami” I’m thinking this is a very layered and deep scent. Great review. USA

What appeals to me about this fragrance is dates!! I always have them in my fridge and I rarely go long without indulging. Carnation is one of my favorite flowers! My grandparents used to live where dates grow and I have fond memories of date shakes. Medjool is the perfect date as it is the absolute best. My favorite of the brand is Persephone’s Patchouli, the pomegranate, honey and sandalwood are so darn good. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Loving the idea of a date noted fragrance. The accompanying notes make this all the more appealing. No, I don’t have a favorite from the house. US

  • Laurentiu says:

I have yet to try anything from Electimuss London, but this travel set seems a nice and fun way to discover some of their creations. Looking at the scent profile of the three, I think I would enjoy all of them, but Caspian Cherry would be the favorite.
    Thanks! EU

  • That is a beautiful description of the Moroccan Medjool. Medjool dates are far superior to others. It is amazing how a scent can take us back in time and trigger a memory. Thanks for this beautiful description, you have a way with words. California, USA

A beautiful composition I am really intrigued by the combination of dates, rose and caramel and oak moss. My favorite from the house is Octavian. Thanks a million from the UK

  • USA, NY. Never smelled electimuss, but this sounds magnificent. J description of how multifaceted this fragrance is with the citrusy floral, honey and decadent dates. This seems like a journey I’d love to experience. NY, USA.

A wonderful piece really fascinated by the note of dates, caramel, rose, Jasmine and ylang yang. A seductive and opulent scent. My from this house is Gladiator Oud. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • Sweet, jammy dates mixed with juicy rose and fuzzy cashmere sounds divine. Spice D’Arno also sounds exquisite. I am in the US.

  • The only Electimuss fragrance I’ve tried is Caspian Cherry which I liked. I love Medjool dates. They are practically candy to me and taste more like caramels than they do fruit. I’m very curious about date notes in perfumery as I have only smelled one perfume with it listed out of the hundreds that I’ve tried so far. The mineralic sand feel combined with the vanilla and dates described in the review makes me feel like this will be very much to my liking. I’m in the USA

  • Kensolfactoryodyssey says:

I’m in California, USA. What really drew me in from J’s review of Moroccan Medjool was the way the date note is described—dark, caramel-rich, and layered with rose and jasmine, like a desert dessert wrapped in flowers. The mix of citrus, spice, and soft woods sounds like it shifts and shimmers as it wears, which I love in a fragrance. My favorite from Electimuss so far is Imperium, but this one sounds like something truly special.

  • Patricia R. says:

Mirage, dark musks and dreamy are the adjectives that attracted me to the execution of this fragrance, besides the notes of dates, roses and woods. I live in the EU.

  • Angelika1 says:

J review talks about a blend of citrus, florals, and warm base notes. Kindly describing a gourmand character with prominent date notes and the interplay of sweet and slightly tart elements. It’s described as a luxurious and playful fragrance with depth and complexity. Reminding me of a Fall in Morocco with all the elements of flavors and smells. I am sure this is a masterpiece. Thanks for bringing such interesting and unique fragrances. From USA.

  • olgAPOISON says:

J’s review of Moroccan Medjool instantly captivated me—the way he paints the scent as a sensual desert mirage layered with citrus light, golden dates, and opulent florals made me feel like I could taste the warmth and richness. As someone who adores Medjool dates (I snack on them almost daily!), the idea of their dark caramel sweetness mingling with rose, jasmine, and a whisper of oakmoss is irresistible. I’ve never smelled anything quite like what’s described here, and that makes me want it even more. I live in the EU and would love the chance to explore this fantasy in a bottle. Thank you for the draw!

  • Citrus and cardamom is a pairing I enjoy, but I don’t think I’ve experienced it layered over a sweet accord like the caramel-sweet date accord in Moroccan Medjool. The subtle carnation note used here is also intriguing; a bit of texture and contrast to the more robust rose and jasmine. Moroccan Medjool has a lot of depth. I haven’t tried any Electimuss London fragrances—I’d love to try this one.

    I’m in the USA.

  • I have not had an opportunity to try any Electimuss London fragrances, but the description of Moroccan Medjool’s honey florals complementing a rich date note sounds amazing. I love indolic jasmine, so would love to experience how the the date and jasmine indoles enhance one another. I am in USA.

  • This is so wonderful to see a date fragrance that leans towards a summer style as most are winter heavy. This sounds sublime. In maryland.

  • goldenswan says:

I liked how J described the rich, dry date notes in Moroccan Medjool, it sounds warm but not overpowering. I’m curious about how the different spices come through. I haven’t tried any Electimuss perfumes yet but would love to explore. I’m in the U.S.

  • Not a big fan of rose, neither carnation, but this blend sounds really really good and interesting. Also i kinda like all the perfumes based on dates accord or note. I would love to try this, thanks for the chance. I’m in the EU.

  • Electimuss Moroccan Medjool really seems to evoke the romance of the desert. There’s a softness with the cashmern and spiced musky woods. The florals support the sweetness of the caramelly dates. Seems like. good summer fragrance. MD, USA

  • DAISY PEREZ says:

Electimuss London is a really well-known perfume house yet i dont have one fragrance from this house. I would love to get my nose on this fragrance. i just love fragrances and this sounds so good.

  • Moroccan Medjool sounds sinfully delicious! I love desert / bazaar gourmand oriented perfumes, I find they transport to an exotic faraway place, which at the same time is also a very personal one, depending on what exactly did the perfumer want to convey. In this case, the blend of dates with honeyed rose and indolic jasmine, some carnation, dark caramel, but also some tartness from the grapefruit, evokes a feminine, sultry but tender and quite wearable interpretation of an oriental gourmand.
    Thanks from the EU.

  • jennapark says:

Elections Moroccan Medjool sounds beautiful summer scent. I was first intrigued by the “gem” in the desert comparison as well as “hazy” while describing this scent. The imagery of the hazy hot desert and then the citrus dates and florals sounds like finding relief in the hot sun.Just reading the notes in this fragrance you know it’s going to be good. Citrus, rose, ylang ylang and vanilla it has to be intoxicating. Not only the description but the notes really grab my attention. I would really love to experience this house. I’m in Pennsylvania USA

  • foreverscents says:

I have never tried a fragrance with a note of dates, so Moroccan Medjool truly interests me. I am very curious to experience the merging of the date and flower notes. The spicy and musky feeling of this fragrance certainly will transport the wearer to the desert. The Explorer Travel Set is the perfect introduction to Electimuss London. Thank you for the giveaway.
    I live in the USA.

  • This review of Moroccan Medjool has me feeling like I’m on an adventure in a Moroccan market place. Thinking about a melody of grapefruit(which is one of my favorite fragrance notes) and dates has me mesmorized. The way J mentions how the dates come off a dark caramel and balances out those jasmine and ylang ylang notes has me ready to get my nose on this scent. The entire collection is on my wishlist so getting my nose on them before I purchase would be a godsend

  • theSCENTguy says:

I love the whole desert theme and the combination of notes really seem to represent just that in a very interesting way. Would love to try!

Thanks for the great writeup J.
Really enjoyed the movement of this fragrance, with the dates staying all the way through. I love the use of grapefruit, cardamom to create various textures in the fragrance, while keeping it in the gourmand territory. The drydown with rose particularly sounds like a great touch.

    Cheers from WI, USA
