This is the time of year when days are getting longer and one can feel the soft touches of spring starting to warm the air. We aren’t quite out of winter’s grasp, but spring is certainly nudging itself into the picture. Tubers, sprouts, and citrus capture the delicate balance of this seasonal transition and slow-motion awakening from soil to bud. Calm and clarity lend these calendar days a unique perspective and opportunity for us to take time for restorative practices.

Wearing DSH Perfumes Breath is just such a revitalizing tonic. A breath-y and restorative fragrance that is not only mood boosting, but calming and meditative. The very first whiff of Breath is a spring breeze of lemon balm, green rhubarb stalks, and citrus balanced with a neroli heart and milky frankincense tears. Deep inhales bring cleansing openness to mind and body. The natural materials in DSH Perfumes Breath are filled with aromatherapeutic properties that can enhance mood. According to Perfumer Dawn Spencer Hurwitz, “lemon oil has a cleansing, releasing and protective effect on the body. It promotes detoxification through the blood and liver and stimulates lymphatic drainage, which helps the body to cleanse itself of wastes and toxins.” That aromatherapeutic citrus blend of lemon, neroli, and bergamot in the opening leads to a mood enhancing jasmine and rose heart.

As DSH Perfumes Breath dries down, my own breath has found a relaxed and healing cadence. Frankincense and sandalwood are both known to inspire just this kind of focused relaxation. Soft woods of hinoki and sandalwood have created a magical bed to rest upon. I am able to slow down and live in the moment. Stress melts away and I feel more relaxed and aware of the world around me. The experience is luxurious spring cleaning for the mind and body.
