CoSTUME NATIONAL is an Italian fashion house founded in 1986 by designer Ennio Capasa. The House is known for its “urban rocker” chic with slim and sexy silhouettes, minimalist, fine Italian craftsmanship and avant garde designs. The two 2019 releases CoSTUME NATIONAL I by Julien Rasquinet and CoSTUME NATIONAL J by Fanny Bal are two very distinctive eau de parfums with niche vibes. CoSTUME NATIONAL J was composed by Fanny Bal, also featured in our young perfumer series, teacher was Dominque Ropion. She told me “When I receive a brief, the first thing I do is to dive into the brand’s universe. I look at the website, visit the store, read articles, everything that can make me understand what the brand is about”. J is for Japan and the clean summery, soapy scent that is at once minimal and complex.
