It was just last week that I woke up thinking, oh no, I missed the Odin pop-up shop. I hate thinking that I’ve missed something that’s about to vanish forever. . At first, the space came off as kind of cold and a little confusing, but as I lingered it transformed into an intimate white wave of warmth and calm, a kind of perfume Mecca. The mirrored back wall and the way it mixed with the structure created a playful maze-like feeling.
There are two leather chairs downstairs at the Le Labo boutique housed inside Barneys New York. These chairs are slightly angled toward each other, just waiting for two people to sit down and talk, hopefully about perfume, and that’s exactly what Mark Behnke, Managing Editor, Cafleurebon and I did.
Walk inside any library and if you stay long enough you will find a sanctuary that is comforting, quiet, and best of all accessible to anyone who enters. So I was excited to write a post celebrating National Library week and choose a favorite book or two that mentions perfume on its pages.
