The fourth, Xerjoff Decas is the “decennial” fragrance (a play on the number 10) and is a scented dedication to Italy, the bel paese and the many regions which are known their beautiful native raw materials.
A thread of weightlessness carries through the top and the heart of Laboratorio Olfattivo ExplOud, and it can be perceived even in the base of the fragrance, despite the gradual introduction of the more tenebrous notes of the drydown. If the opening represents the “explosive” part of ExplOud, then it is here, in the base, that we get to experience the oud in all its somber glory.
In concert, the plethora of materials in Maher Olfactive Sagan Dalya sing seamlessly – like an ensemble in which the singers stagger their breath to create a lyrical line which appears endless. It’s a marvelous form of infinity, though: chalorous and cool, comforting and contemplative. The hearth may be warm, but you can hear the wind whistle through the forest as a few memorable draughts slither through the cracks in the windowsill.
