Serge Lutens “De Profundis” catches the eye almost before the nose. The color is actually a deep purple, powerful, similar to a magic potion which will invite you to partake of its charms. De Profundis is an innovative departure, extremely ornate, almost heady; of a meeting between violet and chrysanthemum.
Carner Barcelona Cuirs was the single best new fragrance I hadn’t tried before at Elements Showcase. Sara Carner enlisted perfumer Sonia Constant to create a fragrance, “redolent with nostalgia for a bygone era of artisan ateliers, where pipesmoke filled the air fusing with the scent of finely tanned leather.”
The opening event at NY Elements Concept was a Bloody Mary premiere party for Blood Concept. Owners Antonio Zuddas and Giovanni Castelli want to create not only a fragrance and a true multimedia effort surrounding Blood Concept. If the fragrance is any judge of things the entire effort should be a huge success. We have thirty samples for thirty readers
One of my joys at last week’s NY elements Showcase, was meeting gracious Anne-Laure Marchal, Sales and Marketing Director for Caron and test Richard Fraysse’s 2011 launch of its first fruity floral urn scent, L’Accord Code 119.There is a mystery to the name. Could it be Alès Group, 119 Rue Salvador Allende?
