It was always my hope that Mark Birley would take another shot at making a men’s fragrance which would exude the private club kind of elegance where dinner jackets were required of the men. With Mark Birley’s death in 2007 I thought the opportunity had passed with the inspiration. Then late in 2010 Mark Birley For Men Charles Street was released.

In 2006 online niche fragrance retailer Luckyscent debuted a five fragrance series of perfumes called Untitled which consisted of a simple brief,
“create something unusual, something that goes beyond their normal boundaries”

I became aware of Brigitte Witschi’s line of Bergduft Fragrances. So far there have been three releases all based on native Alpine flora; Alpenrose, Blauer Enzian and her first fragrance Edelweiss. I recently got a chance to experience Edelweiss and while I’m not sure I found my Alpine meadow I found a very nice powdery floral fragrance.
