I reviewed Profumi del Forte Versilia Platinum and found that was more Alps than beach. Versilia Aurum turns that formula around and is more beach than Alps. Which as someone who spent too many early mornings on the beach suits me fine.
I have never made the trip to Versailles to visit the L’Osmotheque but it has certainly been on my perfumista bucket list and while it still is; I got the next best thing at Esxence 2011 in Milan the traveling version of L’Osmotheque. As part of their mission to let this fragrant history be experienced by the greatest number of people they have made a traveling version and within two hinged wooden cases the fragrant world’s masterpieces beckoned to me.
I don’t know if it is that all of the Carthusia fragrances are inspired by a Mediterranean island where the weather is always warm but they just seem to fill my summer sweet spot almost perfectly. Corallium will be joining Uomo and Numero Uno as part of this summer’s rotation, for me.

I am a lover of incense fragrances but as the weather turns warmer I find that I have trouble wearing my favorites. So I’m always on the lookout for a resinous fragrance that I can keep at the front of my wardrobe even in the heat of August. During my trip to Esxence 2011 I think I found that summertime incense, Miller et Bertaux Om.
M Creed has created a classic oud fragrance which is never anything but debonair and I didn’t imagine ever describing an oud fragrance as debonanir and daring in the manner of T. E. Lawrence. I believe Royal Oud is the best Creed fragrance of the 21st Century.
