When I heard that the newest Slumberhouse scent was to be called (simply) “Pear + Olive”, I thought it was some kind of joke. Where was the mysterious name? What was the creative inspiration here? And, most importantly, where could I get some?!
DSH Perfumes Arome d’Egypte is an all-natural perfume constructed around spikenard. Many have tried to capture the beauty of the ancient land of the Pharaohs or the dry desert-like austerity and enticing opulence of this era. Dawn Spencer Hurwitz has done it flawlessly.

When I heard Neil Morris had a new Earthtones scent, and that I was receiving a sample, I was overjoyed as I was already in love with North Woods (Earthtones #3)! When I heard it was a “tropical lagoon” scent; however, I was less than enthused.

Created on the spur of the moment, while cleaning her drafting table off to do some painting, Roxana Villa combined a series of notes, essences and accords to create something truly beautiful also called Impromptu.
Perfumer John Pegg has proven (beyond a shadow of a doubt) that he is more than a flash in the fragrant pan. Each one of his creations is like a painting with a central figure that is brought to life and accented by what he chose to include in the background and the frame. His two newest scents Fields of Rubus and Wood Haven continue in this vein.
