In 1932, George G. Blaisdale formed the Zippo lighter company creating an American icon. Two years ago they expanded their line to fragrances. It seems Zippo has put the same thought and quality into their scents; Original, On the Road, Into the Blue, and The Woman, as they always have into their lighters.
AJNE’s creator Jane Hendler has taken natural perfumery one step further. Not only does she create and bottle beautiful essences…she grows many of the raw materials used organically on her farm in Carmel, California. The two newest scents, Big Sur and Savannah, are an absolute joy to wear.
Christopher Brosius is one artist who constantly pushes the envelope. When my sample of CB I Hate Perfume Invisible Monster arrived, I had no idea what to “osmagine”. What greeted my nose was something I had never smelled before, in a perfume…but it did resonate with me on a mnemonic and nostalgic level.
Tom Ford’s creations, both in perfumes and on the runway, are hit or miss with me. Even those that miss have an uncanny ability to still come off as stylish. Some, like Noir, are classy while still radiating comfort and a hint of luxury.
