CaFleureBon Blogathon for Breast Cancer: 10/31/11 Olivier Durbano & Et Ulum Vinem + Raise Your Glass Draw for the Cause

October 31, 2011November 1, 2011

I am not sure if I feel like celebrating or crying. Today is my last post  in the Blogathon For The Cure. I reached my goal of blogging  about breast cancer awareness  for fourteen days… each post took eight hours.Let's raise a glass; not just for this humantarian inititative, but to those who live with, survived or died to Breast Cancer. All our lives it seems in some way have been touched by this disease.

Olivier Durbano creates jewels and (for your throat)  for your nose based on principals of chakra healing. and the meaning of gemstones. My favorites are  Amethyst (PURPLE) and Turquoise. Olivier's 6th was Pink Tourmaline reviewed by Mark Behnke)". and I recently reviewed the final 8th in the series… Citrine.

I chose this painting for many reasons, not just because it is one of my favorite of Olivier's pefumes , but also  because turquoise is the birthstone of December; in numerology being born on 13th it's  my lucky color (my unlucky number is black which is practically all I wear; note to self wear less black and more turquoise) and its a unisex fragrance, which reminds us that  Breast Cancer is Not a for women only disease.

Sorcery of scent: Dimi this is for a breast cancer raising project and I have linked your site;  we should exhange links. Olivier would be happy

This is Cafleurebon's final post for breast cancer awareness  and  as such it would be assigned  #9 in numerology; which according  to numerology, as a team  (Elise Pearlstine has just joined us  to write about natural ingredients so I havent put her name on the masthead yet )  we are worldly, sophisticated, non judgemental; the #9 is the most globally conscious  and least political  of all numbera. Since this has been my personal project   and I spent many hours  researching  the healing powers of chakras and aromatherapy  for breast cancer awareness,  I neglected to find out about my  life path numerology. So as a #7 here is mine.

Womb2 by Yuta Onoda

The 7 Life Path is the searcher and seeker of truth. You have a clear and compelling sense of yourself. As a result, your goal is devoted to investigations into the unknown, and to finding the answers to the mysteries of life. You possess a fine mind; you are an analytical thinker who is capable of great concentration and theoretical insight. You enjoy research and putting the pieces of an intellectual puzzle together.

Once you have enough pieces in place, you are capable of highly creative insight, and of practical solutions to problems. You enjoy your solitude, preferring to work alone.  You need time to contemplate your ideas without the intrusion of other's people's thoughts.  You are a lone wolf, a person who lives by your own ideas and methods

Thanks to Olivier Durbano you have a choice of any of his new fragrances value $175.00 and just a $5 dollar donation

Don't forget to  click  the banner on CaFleureBon's site whenever you order anything

I was contacted by Karine Vinot of BTC French Gifts about a new line of  home diffusers.  Each of the seven Ut Olem Venum  celebrate the fine wines of Italy and are hand made made by  the company's owners two Italian oenophiles-   brothers Simone and Matteo Scaglietti (nephews of the famous car designer Sergio Scaglietti). After a phone conversation with her colleague Nicole about  CaFleurebon's breast cancer awareness blogathon,we selected Fragolino Home Diffuser    .  Fragolino is kown as the "champagne of Italian wines",  Fragolino mixes fruity strawberries, apples and exotic fruits with honey, musk and Moroccan oranges.  I am sure Karine had no idea that her donation and the diffuser that I thought was the most to my taste would inspire the title for this post

All ingredients are natural, aimed at reducing the risk of allergies and packaging components are recyclable materials and chemical free for a better world for all (value $66  and only  $1 donation)

This Post is Dedicated to Breast Cancer Survivor Sarah Barton King "aka Pinkie"  a perfumer and a friend to all who have met her. If you haven't met  Pinkie you have met her perfumes . Raise your Glass

Dear Michelyn,

My mother's passion of fragrance has always held a special meaning for me as her favorite flavor was the magnolia. The Foundation honored my mother through using this beautiful flower as the inspiration for our magnolia designed logo. The Libby Ross Breast Cancer Foundation is thrilled to be participating with Ca Fleure Bon this October in the fight against breast cancer.Thank you for all your hard work and please thank your readers, sponsors and donors on my behalf.

-Lori Ross, Founder

This was a seriously long blogathon and I hope the amount of money donated is significant.

I just made a 5$ donation for the Olivier Durbano perfume with transaction no: VDVE3A50E73D.

What a ride it has been, the amount of effort and work put into this blogathon has been just incredible, and I enjoyed it every bit of the way, even though like you it has been with a laughing and a crying eye. Congrats, Michelyn, I hope that you might find strenght to host an event like this again at some point, and hopefully you will enjoy a little toast today. You deserve it.
The last 5$ from my last donation ref:VSJE7E5434C2 should of course go to the this final draw. And what a way to end the awareness campaign for breast cancer. Oliver Durbanos fragrances sound so special and beautiful I am really intrigued by the combination of fragrance and the meaning of gemstones and the healing properties. Wonderful! Thank you very much for this time around to M, CFB and all the generous perfumers and companies involved.

I second what Asali said. Michelyn, your dedication to this blogathon has been impressive, and the perfumers have responded generously. I appreciate the attention you have brought to this cause which truly does touch everyone, if not directly, certainly in your “6 degrees of separation”. Bless you for your efforts, and to the efforts of the Libby Ross Foundation to help those touched by this disease.
I have always found Olivier Durbano’s perfumes to be an interesting concept, and I first became aware of them through Cafleurebon. The Et Olete Venume diffuser looks lovely also. My previous, most recent donation, reference VDVE3A479F54, should cover my entry in this final draw, and I hope to see lots of competition to win this wonderful, final prize.

Let me raise my coffee mug to you Michelyn for this huge project that has raised awareness and funds for the cause. I have been impressed with the creativity of all the posts, each one has moved me AND brought me fascinating stories of perfumers and perfume as well as those who have survived cancer and those that have been taken from us by cancer.

Michelyn, you have done a truly incredible job. It was obvious to all that the time you spent pulling this together was enormous–from the background research, the selection of imagery, to the multitude of friendships you developed throughout the industry.
