CaFleureBon 10th Anniversary illustration by noted artist Massimo Alfaioli
Since our very first post by Michel Roudnitska on ethical perfumery, March 22, 2010, CaFleureBon strives to set a high standard — veracity of information, editorial excellence, and celebrating perfume as an art . I haven’t written a Cafleurebon “letter from the editor” since 2011 (my April 26th CaFleureBon letter was called “Take a lesson From Clorox”). When we first began CaFleureBon I would write reviews frequently as we were a team of four including Sr Editor and Natural Perfumery Editor Ida Meister, a Perfumed Plume winner for Scent and Healing: The Transformative Power of Perfume. Now we are 17 writers and an amazing video content creator.

Over the past ten years we have been blessed with at least seventy Guest Contributors and editors (quite a few won awards or were finalists for editorial excellence) including our much missed Managing Editor Tama Blough who passed on January 9, 2015 and the radiant Sr. Editor Emeritus Robert Herrmann, who left us October 1, 2019.
We are experiencing uncertain times and while we don’t know where COVID-19 will lead, we are warmed by the collective goodness, resiliency, and humor of our own team, our friends-in-fragrance and the entire perfume community. You will be hearing from many of them over the next month.
Preparations for our CafleureBon decennial began a year ago; we lived in a different world. Four fragrances have been composed under my creative direction for our 10th anniversary: Antonio Gardoni of Bogue Profumo “OOOH for CaFleureBon, collaboration with award winning essayist and photographer Alex C. Musgrave (aka the Silver Fox and former Editor) and Massimo Alfaioli which will be sold exclusively at LuckyScent, Antonio Alessandria of Antonio Alessandrio Parfums ”Rusty Vibes”, which will be sold online, Neil Morris of Neil Morris Fragrances “I will bring you flowers” which will be sold online and at Indigo Perfumery and Sarah McCartney of 4160Tuesday returns with the third Queen in the series, Dark Queen, which will be sold online and at Perfumology.
For those who have read CaFleureBon since 2010 and to our newer readers and viewers, we are committed to posting original content 365 days a year and continuing to shine a light on independent, artisan and natural perfumery and the brilliant Olfactive Artists who create them. For you dear reader, now more than ever we need beauty in our lives: Perfume and Incense bring joy to the heart.-Proverbs 27.9:
Today is International Fragrance Day as I publish, March 21st. What is your scent of the day?
