Badar Parfums Sandal Rice Review (Margaux Le Paih Guérin) 2025 + Darkly Delicious Giveaway

Badar Parfums Sandal Rice

J’s image of Badar Parfums Sandal Rice

Badar Parfums and perfumer Margaux Le Pain Guérin of Flair Paris have returned with another beautiful fragrance, Sandal Rice. It’s feels like the yin to Estelle’s yang, giving us a darker woody vanilla with a beautiful savoury rice note as a counter point, while still keeping that sleek suave sensation that runs through Badar Parfums trio of releases. Sandal Rice has a tough yet cosy feel from the rice and woods that run though it, showcasing vanilla in a unique and understated way, letting its woody facets shine. It wears like a soft hug from someone very strong, a quiet power, yet simultaneously feeling graceful and refined.

Sandal Rice’s opening makes my mouth water with its dark coffee aroma giving the caramel a deep slightly charred richness, making it feel deliciously decadent, the kind you want to sink your teeth into and savor. As your enjoying this grown up treat it feels as if sandalwood and rice crash into each other in slow motion creating this dry velvety powdery cloud of woods giving a brilliant savoury counterpoint to Sandal Rice’s darkly delicious caramel vanilla sweetness. The way the powdery dry rice aroma wraps around you is rather lovely; it’s like a soft smoky veil that’s starts out light before descending through coffee into a smoky rich guaiac and creamy sandalwood musky haze. This clever contrasting creates that strong tough yet cosy hug sensation, that’s hard to convey in words, but when you wear it, you will know.

The rich blend of coffee and caramel creates a lush aroma, subtly infused with delicate notes of plum, cherry and dry cacao, all enveloped in a delightful dark, woody haze. Sandal Rice is packed with the complex and subtle aromas you find in specialist drip or pour over coffees. That dark caramel sweetness enhances the experience, accompanied by woody vanillas feeling as if you have added a dry cream into the mix as things soften out in its heart. As this is happening everything is wrapped in Sandal Rice’s dry powdery rice veil, making it feel again like the scent of the coffee has been trapped and atomised becoming part of this beautiful powdery cloudy haze. It seems as though a memory has been stretched out through time and wearing Sandal Rice is letting us explore it on a granular level, as if we’re back at the moment Proust has dipped his Madeline into his tea and time stopped for him. With Sandal Rice Margaux Le Paih Guérin has updated this Proustian experience giving us a rich black coffee with a delicious caramel vanilla on a delicate rice pastry with a soft smoke in the air. There’s a beautiful dry snap to Sandal Rice’s rice as the coffee’s darkness fades letting a smooth dark vanilla heavy on his woody side shine.

In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust

Sandal Rice lives up to its name, enveloping your skin in a sophisticated, powdery aroma of rice and sandalwood, complemented by a rich vanilla that is deepened with the smoky facets of guaiac wood, creating a smooth and alluring fragrance.

Badar Parfums Sandal Rice

J’s image of Badar Parfums Sandal Rice

It warms your skin in a beguiling way, sitting above it like a soft woody cloud. It feels dense, yet has this silky transparency with ambroxan creating this cosy aura that gives Sandal Rice a beautiful presence. The use of those sweeter materials cleverly masks the more sharp facets of the Australian sandalwood, while focusing in on its milky smooth sensation, the way the material melt from the opening to the end creates a lovely flow with that dry, powdery woody rice aroma keeping everything in balance. The woody side of a Madagascan or bourbon vanilla is amplified giving whispers of that rich sweetness while focusing in on the woods and rice as it wraps you in its embrace. Imagine an atomised sandalwood cloud that feels like your gently caressing the soft nap of velvet. Margaux Le Paih Guérin shows wonderful skill in the way she uses contrasting notes, they flow together as if the sweeter side is playing a beautiful melody over the darker woody rice rhythm, making Sandal Rice sing a rather beautiful and unique song of vanilla and sandalwood. This is one I’ll be wearing a lot.

Notes: Rice, Coffee extract, Australian sandalwood essence, Caramel, Vanilla, Ambroxan, Guaiac essence, Modern woods.

Disclosure: Badar Parfums Sandal Rice was sent to J for review, thoughts and nose are his own.

  • J’s review beautifully captures the essence of Sandal Rice, making it feel almost tangible. I’m particularly intrigued by the interplay of dark coffee, caramel, and powdery rice, creating a contrast between strength and softness. The idea of a fragrance that envelops like a ‘strong yet cosy hug’ is captivating, and I can almost imagine the rich, smoky vanilla unfolding on the skin. Margaux Le Paih Guérin’s skill in blending these elements into a seamless, olfactory experience is truly impressive. I would love the chance to experience this unique composition myself. I live in France. Thank you for this generous opportunity!

  • I have never heard a perfume described as having a rice accord, but it sounds both interesting and delicious! Ambroxan and sandalwood are two of my favorite scents, so I imagine this will smell incredible with the addition of coffee, caramel, vanilla and RICE. Kentucky USA

  • Sanda Rice is another gem in the Badar Parfums family: a
darker woody vanilla that is as cozy yet sophisticated with the woody notes, especially with the addition of the Guaiac wood. as highlights and a vanilla that is done in an interesting way; combined with the rice note that is versatile, it lends the scent an earthy, nutty facet that along with the sandalwood, ambroxan and sweetness of caramel, creates a beguiling scent that has a presence on the skin that has a warmth, allure and refinement to it.

    1. What sparked your interest in J’s review of Sandal Rice?
J’s review captivated me with its description of contrasting scent notes—creamy sandalwood, powdery rice, deep coffee, and caramel. I’m especially intrigued by how the fragrance balances sweetness with woody warmth, creating a sensual and enveloping aura. The idea of experiencing Sandal Rice as a “delicate mist of sandalwood and vanilla” makes me eager to try it myself.

    Hi from Poland szczecin

  • Sandal Rice sounds absolutely mesmerizing! The blend of dark coffee, caramel, and that unique powdery rice note creates such a vivid, almost tactile image. I love how J described it as a “soft hug from someone very strong”—that balance of strength and comfort is exactly what I look for in a fragrance. The idea of a smoky, woody vanilla with a savoury twist is so intriguing.

  • Rice! That’s a new one. But sounds interesting especially all the other notes like sandalwood, caramel, vanilla, coffee and obviously to amp it up Ambroxan.
Definitely sounds like it smells very rich and and like a gourmand like scent. The bottle is sleek and beautiful!

  • I’ve been looking for the perfect rice scent and this one sounds great! I love powdery perfumes, but often they can feel too stiff. The likening to a “hug” makes this one sound smooth with just the right amount of powder. The caramel coffee notes are even an added bonus. Classy bottle, too. USA

  • AromaDulce73 says:

Not sure what a rice note is but everything else in this fragrance sounds amazing. Coffee, Caramel & Vanilla with some woods is right up my alley.

Seems like the rice gives it a powdery feel, which I’m not a fan of , but if blended well I’m sure it won’t take away from all the other notes. I’m definitely curious.

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

The combination of the powdery aroma of rice and sandalwood contrasted with the smoky facets of guaiac wood sounds like a winning combination, and I would love to try this on my own skin. I live in Maryland USA.

  • Ramses Perez says:

I never expected a rice and vanilla fragrance to go so well together, but here we are. Of course there are other elements added to it but a sweetened rice scent is certainly something I have never experienced. It’s almost like a dessert in a way but I don’t get a cube that this is a full on gourmand. I wish I would have known about it sooner as spring is quickly approaching and this one looks more suited for fall/winter but it will still be an amazing scent to wear anyways. Margaux is truly on a roll lately. I’m located in the USA.

  • The concept of blending the “soft creaminess of rice” with the “richness of sandalwood” intrigues me. This combination promises a unique fragrance profile that balances delicate, comforting notes with a deep, luxurious woodiness—an unusual yet appealing pairing that suggests both sophistication and warmth. I live in Poland, EU.

  • I am intrigued by the woody vanilla with the rice note. The description “atomizer sandalwood cloud that feels like you are gentley caressing the soft nap of velvet” makes it sound like a comforting sexy fragrance that I would love to experience. I love vanillas that aren’t too sweet they are some of my favorites. I’m from Mont Clare PA about 40 minutes outside of Philadelphia.

  • I’m not normally drawn to powdery fragrances, but this sounds like another kind of powdery than the usual talc/body powder. The clouds of atomized rice and vanilla, woody dust and caramels with the dark coffee are actually making me drool a bit. Sounds amazing! I live in the US.

  • I never heard of this house before but the notes and description sounds amazing, would love to experience it. I’m from the EU, thanks for the draw.

  • I’ve already encountered this combination of sandal and rice, bit not with notes like Coffee extract and Caramel, so I’m really intrigued by this creation.

What sparked my interest based on J’s review is “It warms your skin in a beguiling way, sitting above it like a soft woody cloud. It feels dense, yet has this silky transparency with ambroxan creating this cosy aura that gives Sandal Rice a beautiful presence.”

What an intriguing review!J’s review was on point with emphasis on what makes this fragrance different. I’ve never had the opportunity to try Badar Parfums, so this would be a beautiful beginning of the journey. What struck me most of the Sandal Rice was the imagery that It wears like a soft hug from someone very strong, a quiet power, yet simultaneously feeling graceful and refined. A brilliant balance between darker woody vanilla with a beautiful savoury rice. It sounds like a fantastic fragrance with an intense and contrasting character. Thank you for the draw!
    Many greetings from Germany EU

  • The notes do sound wonderful here! I am very curious about Sandal Rice. Please count me in! Thank you!

  • Ever since Meo Fusciuni’s Little Song I’ve kept an open mind and eager heart for coffee notes. That perfume is addictive! Just something about it. I have a few fragrances with a rice note and I love them all!! But none have a coffee note paired with it – tea or sandalwood etc but not coffee. So this would be totally unique! I’d love to try it. I am located in the USA.

  • I already love this.
This review is really complete and made me smell this fragrance through the screen. I tried only one reference with the rice note, called “riso” by Jijide and i really appreciate the characteristic powdery and warm smell of this accord.
This, united to slightly gourmand and smooth notes, make me imagine that wearing this fragrance is like to wrap myself in a warm and soft duvet.
Thanks for this giveaway, I’m from Italy.

  • The evocative imagery used to describe Badar Parfums Sandal Rice immediately captured my attention. J’s comparison to “a soft hug from someone very strong, a quiet power, yet simultaneously feeling graceful and refined” perfectly expresses the intriguing balance of strength and gentleness that I find so appealing. J’s description of the opening, with its “dark coffee aroma giving the caramel a deep slightly charred richness, making it feel deliciously decadent, the kind you want to sink your teeth into and savor,” is particularly vivid and makes the fragrance feel almost tangible. Beyond the initial gourmand notes, I’m especially intrigued by the interplay between the rice, sandalwood, and vanilla. The image of the “powdery dry rice aroma wrapping around you like a soft smoky veil” is incredibly evocative. The suggestion of a “Proustian experience,” like “a rich black coffee with a delicious caramel vanilla on a delicate rice pastry with a soft smoke in the air,” adds another layer of intrigue and suggests a fragrance that’s more than just a scent—it’s a journey through memory and sensation. The artistry of perfumer Margaux Le Paih Guérin, balancing sweet and savory notes to create “a beautiful melody over the darker woody rice rhythm,” has me eager to experience Sandal Rice firsthand!

Thank you, J, for the wonderful review, and thank you to Badar Parfums for the generous giveaway. I am located in the USA.

  • I went to Margaux LE PAIH GUÉRIN essay once again like Michelyn Camen suggested to get me up to speed with her journey and I’m glad she has both her heart in her work, and her work in her heart, that’s why she’s so successful at her age. Not yet familiar with her work but dreaming big is a must for every self driven person, young perfumer like Margaux LE PAIH GUÉRIN or a barber like me . • Margaux Le Paih Guérin life diary really paints a picture of her intricate character . What really grabbed me in was her extensive journey , all she went through and her state of felicity at FLAIR.
I’m keen on the whole Badar Parfums Sandal Rise package and J’s description in a way related to In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust .
Powdery rise and cacao, delicious sensuality , feel of smooth happiness , and depending on J Wearescentient ecstatic experience with the fragrance I’m aware Badar Parfums Sandal Rise is a very special delicious fragrance with lots of depth, and unique character based on French feel with Australian and Madagascan nuances.

  • I’m in the USA and smoky vanilla always has my interest. Or smoky anything really. And coffee. And sandalwood. This sounds very nice. I’m curious to see how the rice doesn’t get overpowered by these notes.

There’s a saying that good ideas start with brainstorming, but great ideas start with coffee ☕
I have a feeling for all those years Margaux Le Paih Guérin and her teammates at FLAIR had hundreds of such brainstorming moments, and thousands cups of coffee in between , I wonder who came up with the idea of mixing coffee, caramel, plum and sandalwood?!?
My takeaway about J Wearescentient article is the overall sense of heritage and novelty approach blended together to perfection. It appeals to me that Margaux Le Paih Guérin infused into Sandal Rise his own love for coffee, rise and the delicious gourmand aspects.
As a result of her work I’d like to know how the luxury not overly sweet rise pastry dessert called Sandal Rise smells. In light of J Wearescentient review I have no doubt the fragrance is stunning.

J Wearescentient is a contributors with specific taste for perfumes , and I do enjoy reading his articles .
The brand of Badar Parfums i don’t know yet , the talanted Margaux Le Paih Guérin i do because of Sora Dora fragrances she created.
Quite often i think of how Olya Bar once said perfumes can trigger past memories and forge future ones, Sandal Rice instantly triggered J Wearescentient good times memories, reading In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust, velvety warmth of the best Australian sandalwood, strong black coffee, plums , cherries and dry cocoa, and is keep forging a lot of new ones with its compex and sweet rise pastry cake like aroma.
Plums , woods and caramel are favorites of mine, let alone how J Wearescentient said Sandal Rise has a dark coffee with a kink of charred caramel running through it , exquisite pleasure I’d love to win.
Thank you very much Badar Parfums and Margaux Le Paih Guérin , and special thanks to J Wearescentient for the hard work

  • What else to ask? Made by Margaux Le Paih Guérin exotic gourmand cocktail with sandalwood and coffee clashing in a velvety powdery cloud, a brilliant idea to counter the dark and smoky caramel and coffee.
I like the classical style of the bottle , the golden top and I’m excited for Badar Parfums in general.
I absolutely love the specific rise cakiness quality of Sandal Rise , and i find interesting the whole dark yet cozy delicious atmosphere. Immersive multi-sensorial experience i believe.
Thanks for the opportunity to win such a novelty fragrance like Sandal Rise , and also thanks to J Wearescentient for the review.

  • I absolutely love J Wearescentient article, once again the information made me wonder, and think for a while

    – J Wearescentient

Since I enjoyed everything I read I’m not sure where should even start with. Should I start with Margaux Le Paih Guérin affection for art and beauty , J passion for creative fragrances , or the unique contrast between the dark woody haze with the dark coffee, rice and smoky caramel , or maybe the importance of the vanilla and sandalwood? All are equally as important for the forming of Sandal Rice identity .
Thanks to J I know the new Badar Parfums fragrance is just great , showing up the true elegance of niche perfumery .

  • This sounds like such a comforting dream of a scent, I really really hope I win this one because it’s right up my alley! Creamy sandalwood, coffee and rice sounds so cozy. Sandalwood scents are a go-to comfort scent for me and I’ve been on a quest for a realistic basmati rice scent for years. I haven’t tried this house before. Stark contrasts and a little bit of everything of what I like I’d describe in short Badar Parfums Sandal Rice The unique merging of alluring vanilla, smoky caramel density , coffee, sandalwood and freshly baked rice dessert are the most appealing sides of Sandal Rice . • I love how Badar Parfums are progressively bringing extraordinary hits 2/3 created by Margaux Le Paih Guérin. Her success is not a surprise to anyone who knows BDK Rouge Smoking Extrait, Badar Parfums Estelle, Sora Dora Jany and the latest exquisite gourmand pleasure called Sandal Rice.
Both Badar Parfums and Margaux Le Paih Guérin future is bright, Sandal Rice is gourmand they created together and I’m intrigued.
Even J Wearescentient was caught off guard by the novelty smell. The gentle fruity-woody caramel and coffee gourmand appeal , together with the rice combination comes as a gentle reminder of how there are still brands like Badar Parfums and perfumers like Margaux Le Paih Guérin who still posses imagination, and value inventiveness .

  • I’ve tried a lot of dark woody vanilla fragrances but I don’t think I’ve ever encountered one that prominently featured a rice note. As per J’s review, it seems to give a dry, powdery veil-like aura to the more decadent and warm vanilla, caramel and coffee notes. Combined with a variety of woods, the whole composition seems both relaxing and rich. MD, USA.

This was an excellent review. The scrnt picture painted by J is very intriguing. When i think of dark sandalwood, i think of This is Him by Z&V; not saying Sandal Rice is similar. What draws me in even more is the combo of rice and coffee. Seems like there would be the conflicting duality of calming rice and vibrant coffee but the genius and skill of the perfumer, Mademoiselle Marguax, makes it work. I’d love to win this offering. Appreciate the opportunity! Many blessings from Virginia, USA.

  • Admirations for people like J Wearescentient who have high standards, and not just looking for nice smelling , but also for for creative and sophisticated fragrances

《 Imagine an atomised sandalwood cloud that feels like your gently caressing the soft nap of velvet. Reading the essay made me think of how unique of a gourmand Sandal Rice must be if J Wearescentient can barely compare it to anything else.
Keeping in mind the zealous examination of the latest Badar Parfums by J i know Margaux Le Paih Guérin did a splendid work. Vivid atmosphere of plum and cherries , caramel, woods , black coffee, cocoa and sandalwood stepping on foundation of depth and complexity, Badar Parfums Sandal Rice is elaborate fragrance i’d really like to win.

  • Nice review Mr. J! What a beautiful scent: Dark woody Vanilla with an amazing savoury rice opening. It seems a perfect balance between strength and softness: the soft hug from someone very strong that Mr. J imagines. I love the smell of Thai Jasmine rice and dark coffee and here Ms. Le Pain Guérin, with incredible talent, brings us both in Sandal Rice: one opens gently and then an intense coffee takes its place, but not like an espresso but like a pour over with all its fruity and cocoa nuances. The base is sensual with creamy sandalwood, the vanilla that is still present and the smoky guaiac wood. The result is a perfume with beautiful contrasting notes. I live in Spain, EU

Since I’m a new subscriber I decided to read the interview with perfumer Margaux Le Paih Guérin and I enjoyed greatly her life stages, from her mother’s perfume shop to different internships , and the nurturing environment at Flair where she feels comfortable.
Thank you Cafleurebon for the draw, from EU

  • Hello Cafleurebon
I really like how J Wearescentient is moving all the pieces with ease on the chessboard , I learned a lot today. In the Badar Parfums Sandal Rice perfumer Margaux Le Paih Guérin is the most powerful piece in the chess game , moving any numbers of squares horizontally, vertically and diagonally.
The way she winnings games after another by creating well received successful fragrances shows how the young perfumer is not really bothered by what other perfumers are doing, igniting the interest of fragrance enthusiasts worldwide by her own style and methods , adding powdery rise and smoke to the traditional gourmand game . The other important pieces on the board to me are the sandalwood, coffee and caramel.
Margaux Le Paih Guérin made Sandal Rice so addictive , absolutely I’d like to win a bottle
I’m based in EU , thanks

As usual there’s no basic information with J Wearescentient , his review is multidimensional as well .
I wish I had a childhood and teen years like Margaux LE PAIH GUÉRIN , relatives to teach me about fragrances , art and crafts. Yes I read the interview once again. I’m impressed not only with her work in perfumery , but the craftspeople involved in her every day activities, how happy she is in FLAIR and how she loves painting and drawing like me .
I know niche fragrances and with the brutal competitiveness on the market i need something big to really grab my attention, and Badar Parfums Sandal Rice high quality raw materials, mouthwatering rise dessert gourmand connections, caramel and sandalwood aroma melding with the coffee did the trick for me.
Through Sandal Rice I can book a flight to France and buying some high end rise dessert with coffee , whiteout actually being there. You can’t beat that
    Cheers EU

  • This sounds like a delight. I adore sandalwood, rice, guiaic, vanilla…..what could go wrong here? A dry powdery rice veil sounds perfect for everyday use. I am not familiar with this brand, but would love to win this. USA.

  • All fragrances can tell a story, some are passionate, some are sad and other do have a happy ending . I think in Badar Parfums Sandal Rice there’s not sad parts , and everything is leading to good and delicious memories , smiles and a tad seductive wink coming from the smoky caramel . J Wearescentient even said the aroma is like a beautiful melody.
I have a keen interest in Sandal Rice because of J cosmopolitan personality , and how delicious the fragrance is . I find the blend unique because the the Rice, but also both mouthwatering and sexy. The creamy sandalwood and coffee are more than welcomed too
    Thank you kindly EU

  • Just by reading the article I visualized the exact same moment when J Wearescentient sprayed Badar Parfums Sandal Rice on skin for the first time , I can almost see the delightfulness in his eyes .
Personally I’ve never smelled rice fragrance with coffee accord , smoky caramel and beautiful sandalwood , kudos to Margaux Le Paih Guérin for the idea. What differentiates her from a lot of other even more accomplished perfumers is that she’s focusing on the whole package, and not just on one or two aspects.
I like all kinds of gourmands , but especially the more discreet and not overly aggressive that smell like a delicious rice dessert made by renowned pastry chef , and a good coffee too , I’m so excited about Sandal Rice.
I also like how J included extra information about the smoky and cozy aura of the fragrance. Sandal Rice is so succulent in a grown up manner. EU
    Thank you for the effort

In my steadily growing fragrance collection there is already one Margaux Le Paih Guérin fragrance i bought because of Cafleurebon – Sora Dora RED , and I’m very much looking forward of trying Badar Parfums Sandal Rice.
Even though J Wearescentient spoke of all the different gourmand aspects of Sandal Rice like the caramel, the coffee and fruits, the sharp facets of Australian sandalwood, the smokiness and the powdery rice do make the fragrance very different from Sora Dora RED . I love clubbing and Sora Dora RED is just perfect for the times i’m going to more high end parties , Sandal Rice is more tranquil and cozy , like a beautiful and unique song.
    EU Thank you

  • Sandal Rice sounds like an enchanting blend of contrasts—delicate yet bold, creamy yet smoky. The idea of rice lending a soft, powdery warmth alongside rich sandalwood and caramel intrigues me. J’s description of it as a “strong yet cozy hug” makes it feel like the perfect balance of comfort and sophistication. I’ve never experienced a fragrance quite like this, and I’d love the chance to try it. Greetings from Florida, USA!

The right way to start with Margaux Le Paih Guérin life story from the older interview with Michelyn Camen, and then go to the present time with J Wearescentient review of Badar Parfums Sandal Rice.
Apparently Margaux Le Paih Guérin was a bright mind at young age with interest perfumes , art and creativity , soaking all kinds of knowledge in her mother’s perfume shop. It’s clear that her mother taught her well , and he developed passion for craftsmanship and beauty together. From her young age , to her internships and now in FLAIR Margaux Le Paih Guérin goals are still the same , triggering past and forging future artistic memories. By her words alone I can tell in FLAIR she found not just a great colleagues , but kindred spirits.
Apparently Margaux Le Paih Guérin is not just a good and young perfumer, and J Wearescentient is not just a reviewer because both have a soft spot for art and creativity .
Sandal Rice is an elegant gourmand , where powdery rise , caramel and coffee are easy to detect , on the flip side because of the charred richness of the caramel also possesses bolder personality. Special fragrance i’d cherish if I win.
I have no previous experience with Badar Parfums fragrances
    Million thanks EU

  • I’ve tried a fragrance that combined a rice note and sandalwood, and the results were beautiful, but Margaux’s use of coffee and cacao take Sandal Rice in a totally different direction. Interesting that the rice note takes on such a dry, powdery texture here. The combination of boozy vanilla and a subtle smokiness sounds terrific in the drydown, though the creamy sandalwood is the star.

    I’m in the USA.

  • I like how Badar Parfums Sandal Rice glows with the brightness of the future. Margaux Le Paih Guérin made fragrance is letting its plummy, caramel fun side shine bright with soft smoky facets that thicken up the feel of the powdery rice , adding dark woody undertones and rich black coffee to this powdery elegance. As J said, Sandal Rice warms your skin in a beguiling way, sitting above it like a soft woody cloud, Love that! EU

I can say, with confidence that every fragrance lover needs to try Margaux Le Paih Guérin fragrances, and particularly Badar Parfums , unique and alluring creations , long lasting on top of that.
I no longer live in Paris but I still visit once a month and I always try to find some time to visit and try something new , Jovoy is where I discovered Sora Dora and was told about Ms Le Paih-Guérin first , Badar Parfums on the other hand I discovered at Odorare Parfumerie , charming boutique in Villepinte , Saint-Saint-Denis a superb of Paris , the place I bought Badar Parfums Estelle.
I like J Wearescentient detailed explanations about the balance between the different gourmand elements , and the more darker and savory ones in Sandal Rice.
It’s excellent to know there are such fragrances produced, with spicy richness , coffee , cherries , soft woody haze that flows all day , Sandal Rice checks all the boxes.
Estelle i own and I’ll be happy to win Sandal Rice
Thank you, American living in EU

  • Autobiographical reads are of my favorites , like the one Margaux Le Paih Guérin, so vivid and full of positive energy. She is built differently, i work with bright young people who are in his age bracket, and I can say it’s so uncommon for such accomplished individual to have modest personality. I think Margaux Le Paih Guérin genuinely looks to craft soul rewarding experiences not only for the buyers , but for herself too.
J Wearescentient read is so delicious, like a mental getaway to the best patisserie in Paris , creamy powdery rise dessert with caramel , cherries on top and a gentle sandalwood accord . What a journey i had with the help of J Wearescentient and a cup of good coffee.
I bet Sandal Rice would surprise me greatly , soulful fragrance i believe , I’m hooked
Thank you for the whole experience

  • I’m a rice note fanatic and I’ve tried nearly every single one under the sun so this immediately peaked my interests on that alone. The name of this bottle reminds me of affinessence santal basmati, which to me is the reigning queen of rice note perfumes. Unfortunately it’s a bit fleeting. So when I read about how you’ve described this as being so deep and complex and rich and beautiful I can’t help but crave it wholeheartedly. I live in the USA

  • The magnitude of Margaux Le Paih Guérin potential is massive , It’s also remarkable that she found the work-life balance. To Flair perfumer the solution is based on ambition , creative approach , love for perfumes and then relax by designing clothing , drawing and working with other artists.
Like everything in real life some components of Badar Parfums Sandal Rice are gentle like the rice , some delicious like the caramel, cocoa and vanilla and others serene like the sandalwood, the balance between smooth and sharp that Margaux Le Paih Guérin created is what I’m looking for the most. Even J Wearescentient is as thrilled as he ever been thinking about silky transparency, whispers of rich sweetness and darker woody rise rhythm.
    From EU. Many thanks

  • I’m glad Margaux Le Paih Guérin didn’t miss her chances. Her character and everything she went through all is pointing out to her noble and full of energy way of doing things.
I’m hardly ever super impressed by a coffee fragrance, but a scent of Australian sandalwood, glamorous caramel vanilla with a freshly baked rise dessert spin description of Badar Parfums Sandal Rice grabbed my attention right away.
I’m new to Margaux Le Paih Guérin fragrances, thanks for her essay , J Wearescentient review and the giveaway

  • Captivating reads , no mistake I even read both twice times in a row , no joke.
I can’t help but to be impressed how Margaux Le Paih Guérin was able to achieve so much by his rather young age. She’s eager to acquire knowledge and to improve, to become better and better. I can easily tell she loves her work and her hobbies, all those drama free habits are the compound interests of self-improvement.
I’m exposed to niche perfumery but not yet to Badar Parfums , and i can’t help but to be impressed how the owners of the brand gave Margaux Le Paih Guérin a platform to create a very special gourmand fragrance with rice and coffee , plums and cherries, sandalwood and different hints of darkness.
Other than wanting to win the contemporary high-end Badar Parfums fragrance called Sandal Rice, I’d also love to visit Flair lab in Paris, sounds like fun
EU , thank you very much

  • J had me at smoky rich guaiac and creamy sandalwood musky haze. This sounds like one of the most interesting scents out there. Even more interesting as the coffee’s darkness fades letting a smooth dark vanilla heavy on his woody side shine. I’m in California, USA

I am always amazed when a perfume is introduced to me which contains a note structure that I would create if given the opportunity. I just love it and this one is firmly on my list of must-buy asap. The rice, coffee, sandalwood, vanilla. All things necessary to create a beautiful story. Thank you to the reviewer for pulling me in and keeping me enthralled. I live in Oregon.

  • Arian Jamali says:

What I got from J’s review is that Sanda Rice is a standout fragrance in the Badar Parfums collection, offering a rich, woody vanilla that feels both comforting and elegant. The inclusion of Guaiac wood adds depth, while the unique vanilla note is crafted in an intriguing way. Paired with a versatile rice note, the scent gains an earthy, nutty quality. Combined with sandalwood, ambroxan, and the sweetness of caramel, it creates a captivating aroma that exudes warmth, sophistication, and a magnetic allure on the skin.

Margaux Le Paih Guérin at it once again , she’s on a roll. After reading up on her background and how she draws inspiration from daily life , willing to take ambitious projects and how she feels fulfilled at FLAIR i believe promising days lie ahead of her.
I’m aware of Margaux Le Paih Guérin because of fragrances she made for a brand by the name of BORNTOSTANDOUD, and now thanks to your blog and J Wearescentient I’m enthusiastic about Sandal Rice and Badar Parfums as a whole.
Sandal Rice is woody and sweet bouquet done right. I’ve always been favorable to coffee , sandalwood and caramel , although never experienced rice as a note , but here It gives the gourmand and woody features a beautiful savory spin , nice work . From EU

    Howdies from Germany
I’m very much picky in terms of woody and gourmand fragrances , and especially those that combine the two genres.
J Wearescentient assessment of Badar Parfums Sandal Rice brought me back to my childhood when grandma used to bake different rice pastries a couple of times per week , and me and grandpa were roasting and grinding the coffee beans , great times I miss a lot.
I became instantly attracted to the comforting gourmand smell of Sandal Rice together with carefully selected by Margaux Le Paih Guérin other deeper and darker shades like the coffee , smoke and sandalwood . I really like the dance between delicious and daring.
When I buy new niche fragrance the quality should be outstanding, and the with certain level of uniqueness , I’m definitely impressed.
Sum total i love the whole J Wearescentient read , and I’d also love to win a bottle of Sandal Rice
    Thank you

  • I decided to share my takeaway about Margaux Le Paih Guérin life cycles first since it’s important to me

“Every day, I am in contact with inspiring and stimulating people. I am trusted, which makes me even more motivated to give my all for my company. This sense of accomplishment drives me to push my limits and strive for excellence in everything I do. Being surrounded by such a positive and supportive environment has transformed my professional and personal growth.”

I’m currently preparing for my first for the year craft exhibition in Vienna , and as artisan myself, I’m a leather arts craft woman i can’t even describe how overjoyed I felt today after reading about Margaux Le Paih Guérin life cycles. Crafting always brings joy to the artist no questions asked. We share a lot of common objectives and principles, Margaux Le Paih Guérin and I .
Of course other the young perfumer article i also enjoyed J Wearescentient experiences with Sandal Rice , a bit dark but comforting gourmand , directly influenced by the powdery woody rice nature. Not just the great smelling aroma with fruits, caramel and vanilla , there’s also sandalwood and different temptations , it’s almost like Sandal Rise is part of a fantasy story.
    Much appreciated, EU

J beautifully described the combination of notes in Sandal Rice. I have never seen or hard of a fragrance with such notes. The coffee, rice, sandalwood, and vanilla surely add up to a magnificent fragrance. I loved J’s imagery of caressing the soft nap of velvet. I also love the reference to Proust, changing the tea to coffee and the Madeline to a rice pastry.

  • Logic.vs.Emotion says:

Badar Parfums Sandal Rice captivated my interest. With the assistance of J Wearescentient i can tell the use of rice here is expertly applied by Margaux Le Paih Guérin , giving Sandal Rice a few subtle powdery and dry edges. I’m keen on the dark coffee too and the way it gives the caramel a deep charred richness.
I’m down with the idea of smooth and alluring fragrances . I acknowledge J Wearescentient fine work and I’d like to say I’m thankful for the chance. EU

  • hide_and_seek says:

Sandal Rice sounds great, I’m fascinated by the love affair between the delicious Bourbon vanilla and caramel from one angle, and the more daring and dark coffee and Australian sandalwood on another. J Wearescentient pointed out that the sandalwood and rice do clash leading to a brilliant woody powdery cloud , there’s a theory that opposites attract and Margaux Le Paih Guérin work is the evidence.
The intricate layering of palatable and edgy , maybe even charred notes , plus the beautiful melody with darker rhythm narrative do make Sandal Rice sound enchanting and multifaceted.
    Thanks a lot EU

  • your.solar.engeneer says:

I feel like Badar Parfums Sandal Rice is so sophisticated, perfectly suited fragrance for formal occasions but because of the dark and sweet tempting trail also for clubbing, maybe even dates. I have a feeling Margaux Le Paih Guérin had a plan to make a complex powdery dark and a bit daring gourmand fragrance , and result could be seen through every aspect of the J Wearescentient review.
Not sorely because I feel attracted to the caramel, fruits, and sandalwood I actually enjoy the whole thing, the rice and the smoky wink .
I had a great time, thank you

  • I keep coming back to this review. Rice can be so magical in perfume and sandalwood is my current jam. J’s description of a soft woody cloud just makes me so intrigued and not fearful of so many sweet notes. This fragrance could be your pal on a leather couch, beverages, an amazing movie, a regal dog joining. I live in NY.

  • Remarkably enjoyable article , bravo to J Wearescentient
So powdery rice and caramel in addition to dark coffee …. Then throw in that quality Australian sandalwood and I just know this is heavenly. I need Badar Parfums Sandal Rice like now lol. Little while back i bought another gourmand from Margaux Le Paih Guérin called Dirty Heaven / BORNTOSTANDOUD , and because J Wearescentient said how the dark coffee side is giving the caramel in Sandal Rice a slightly charred richness I feel tempted once again.
    Appreciate the chance – EU

  • I love top quality 100% Arabica espresso , caramel, sandalwood with ripe fruits , and from Badar Parfums Sandal Rice I’m anticipating spectacular fragrance, something I’ve never encountered before.
J Wearescentient revealed a lot , from the almost mysterious opening with smoky caramel and coffee , to the exceptional rich Australian sandalwood and Madagascan vanilla , and last but not least how Sandal Rice is wrapped in dry powdery rice veil , Margaux Le Paih Guérin made the new Badar Parfums fragrance so addictive and rich , not an easy task I believe.
Thanks to Margaux Le Paih , Badar Parfums , J Wearescentient and best of luck to all participants

What I just read was not just a refined and detailed read , but some unique stories with guilty coffee and caramel pleasures, refined craftsmanship and rice , but Margaux Le Paih Guérin gourmand ambitions and dreams turned into reality , and I’m loving it.
What I enjoyed overall are the two tones of the “Darkly and delicious” giveaway , the older read with Margaux Le Paih Guérin life and career retrospective , and J Wearescentient introduction to Sandal Rice, both grabbed my attention right away .
I love good and sophisticated strong gourmands like Sandal Rice, just like I love happy , dedicated and not overly pretentious people like Margaux Le Paih Guérin , the whole experience of the two articles is like a medley of both. I enjoyed the way the perfumer made one unbelievable aroma in a unique , yet so cozy and daring at the same time way

Coming from someone who’s used to mostly designer fragrances and more simplistic reviews i still try to adjust to niche perfumery, and niche style of reviews on Cafleurebon.
Margaux Le Paih Guérin and J Wearescentient were able to trick my imagination into thinking of Turkish coffee and luxury rice desserts where the sweetness and boldness are perfectly dosed and compounded to alluring caramel and vanilla.

“The use of those sweeter materials cleverly masks the more sharp facets of the Australian sandalwood, while focusing in on its milky smooth sensation, the way the material melt from the opening to the end creates a lovely flow with that dry, powdery woody rice aroma keeping everything in balance”

By all means YES to what J Wearescentient stated , eye-opening and zealous review and one spectacular fragrance like Sandal Rice
Warm thanks to Margaux Le Paih Guérin,J Wearescentient, Cafleurebon and Badar Parfums. EU

  • I like the more thoughtful overall experience I just had. I learned about Badar Parfums Sandal Rice distinct and complex scent , starting with dark strong coffee , rice , caramel with smoke and going forward with enticing aromas like sandalwood and delicious vanilla.
My personal final flourish is the harmony Margaux Le Paih Guérin was able to achieve between between tasty , dark and seductive elements.
I am a gourmand and sandalwood fragrances lover and Badar Parfums Sandal Rice appeals to me greatly
