I wasn’t expecting a new Vero Profumo until next year. Imagine my delight when Ms. Kern told me in January at the Elements Showcase she was almost done with a new fragrance that would be ready for this fall. So ahead of schedule her seventh fragrance Mito will be available in September.
Five writers from CaFleureBon interpret Open Sky Untitled S01E01 as a piece of art. Five very different interpretations from Mark Behnke, Tama Blough, John Reasinger, Valerie Vitale, and Neil Sternberg.
Ys Uzac is a Swiss brand of fragrances started in 2011 by classical cellist Vincent Micotti. The line consists of four perfumes, Metaboles, Lale, Monodie, and Pohadka. Dressed in fancy packaging and simple, attractive bottles, the line is pleasing to the eye, and, as I found out, to the nose as well.
M. Wasser truly does use oud differently as it is much more a member of the ensemble in all three of the fragrances in the Les Deserts d’Orient collection. Instead of overwhelming the other notes it defers to them adding its unique quality to illuminate the usual with the unusual.
It was just last week that I woke up thinking, oh no, I missed the Odin pop-up shop. I hate thinking that I’ve missed something that’s about to vanish forever. . At first, the space came off as kind of cold and a little confusing, but as I lingered it transformed into an intimate white wave of warmth and calm, a kind of perfume Mecca. The mirrored back wall and the way it mixed with the structure created a playful maze-like feeling.
I was particularly intrigued by the four colognes which make up the new The Different Company L’Esprit Cologne Collection. The perfumer who created all four of these new colognes is Emilie Coppermann. Clearly, Luc Gabriel, the owner of The Different Company turned Mme Coppermann loose to create freely and the result is a collection which once again helps to redefine what a cologne is.
