What got me on the subject of perfume and the chakras (energy centers of the body) recently was last week while I was sampling perfumes from Amanda Feeley’s natural perfume line I started playing with the juxtaposition of two particular perfumes, Queen of Punk and Bennacht.
I was introduced to the latest member of the Island Michael Kors collection, Palm Beach and realized this entry still had the same fun-loving quality of its Island stable mates but it also had some of the complexity I liked from the main line fragrances. The more I wore it the more I found more to like about it.
I was never privileged to smell the 1959 Piguet original release-
But thanks to lovely Lindsey Adams, Director Of Training for Robert Piguet Parfums-
I was able to sample the new rendering of Calypso, authored by Givaudan’s gorgeous Aurelien Guichard, which is floral seduction on a subtler scale.
If you would like romance to be bottled, and I believe it has been, then Velvet & Sweet Pea’s Purrfumery Bed of Roses is the scent for you.
Joseph Quartana’s Six Scents project is always of interest to me. His stated credo for Six Scents is this:
