I was young & still learning about the world through my love of books. My first encounter with ‘Chypre’ was thru The Maltese Falcon. I read chypre as kai-pre, but knew it was more sophisticated then Dad’s Hai karate. Which Chypre did Joel Cairo wear?

Dr. Levi was traveling through the American Desert Southwest and they had stopped for the day. As Dr. Levi looked out the window he saw a fast moving storm full of lightning bearing down on them. He ran outside and as he arrived the air was full of turbulence and anticipation of nature’s power. He noticed the smells in the air had become sharper and more vivid. The artist deep inside Dr. Levi paused to remember that for future reference. Upon returning to Italy he decided to use that experience to create two different fragrances, Fulgor and Roboris
Pierre Guillaume reminds me of a great Renaissance artist who can create using any palette.The fragrances M Guillaume composes for Laboratorio Olfattivo share the same linear construction that we found in the Huitieme Art Parfums.
Since 2008, when designers Sebastian Fischenich and Tobias Muksch, working in conjunction with “Les Christophs” (Christoph Hornetz and Christophe Laudamiel) began Humiecki & Graef; they have released seven fragrances which show a commitment to realizing a modern fragrant construction with no expectation that Humiecki & Graef fragrances are something for everybody. Instead they choose to design to an aesthetic that celebrates something unquestionably modern.
