Monsillage is the Montreal-based perfumery of perfumer Isabelle Michaud. This house is one of my most pleasant discoveries of 2011. One of our loyal readers sent me samples of the first four fragrances by Mme Michasud and Aviation Club was my favorite of those first four. After that review published Mme Michaud asked me if I would like to try her newest perfume Vol 870 YUL-CDG.

then the next day I wore my classic Roger & Gallet Jean Marie Farina and when I wear a classic Eau de Cologne I go crazy with application and spray it everywhere. I began to think that maybe I needed to give Eau Monumentale another chance but this time applying it with more than one spray. So out of the fragrant Recycle Bin Eau Monumental came and much spritzing later a very different opinion on this fragrance.

FRAGRANCE REVIEW Tableau de Parfums Miriam “How To Visualize A Vintage Fragrance”

I have been enjoying the number of recent collaborations between artists olfactive and visual. We’ve seen photographs, books, and illustrations inspire excellent fragrance collections in 2011 alone. The only one left out of that mix was moving pictures. That is about to be rectified with the partnership between Perfumer Andy Tauer and Writer/Director Brian Pera.
Mr. Pera is collecting a number of short films under the title of “Woman’s Picture”. Three of these films will have a fragrance designed by Mr. Tauer to accompany them. The first Woman’s Picture to have both film and fragrance is Miriam.
