Atelier Des Ors Blanc Polychrome Review (Marie Salamagne) 2020 + Continuum of Colors Draw

If you have ever dabbled in the visual arts, or have painted your house or tried to redecorate a bedroom, you will, no doubt, have run into the fact that colors almost never appear the same “in situ” as they do in the paint store. Fair, pearly, waxen – white is never simply “white”. More than an achromatic repository of color, every formulation of white paint, every white fabric or surface reflects light in a different way. The continuum of tones, colors and hues, the  myriad of poly-chromatic effects that bloom from white can often be surprising.

Atelier Des Ors Blanc Polychrome, the newest in the Collection Blanc, explores the hues of white, presenting halos of color reflected from a brilliant liquid canvas. Creative director Jean-Philippe Clermont and perfumer Marie Salamagne offer the sweet pucker of citrus, the refreshing cool qualities of lavender, the hypnotic effects of creamy jasmine, refracted against a silver white background of Ambroxan, tinted with tones of moss.

Atelier Des Ors Blanc Polychrome opens with a splash of light, recalling rays of early morning sunshine playing off bedroom walls. Crisp green rhubarb and fig leaf compliment the astringent effects of citrus, both fruit and branch, creating a transparent sparkling glaze of scent, a startling wake-up call for the senses. The cool, sunny, purity gradually surrenders its initial edge to a joyful bouquet of radiant bell tones, olfactory hues that diffuse like watercolors over the surface of bright cotton paper.

Brush strokes of sensual jasmine, fresh cut lavender, green fig leaf and crunchy rhubarb alternately appear and dissolve into a canvas of silvery, silky Ambroxan, Atelier Des Ors Blanc Polychrome, while technically an Eau de Cologne, is persistent and long lived. The continuum of translucent colors dance on the skin for twelve hours and more, subsumed at last into a warm white pigment of musk and moss. From the first breath to the last impression, Blanc Polychrome is an ethereal, effervescent  spiritual fragrance, an experience of energy, life and light that lifts the mood and calms the spirit, perfect for these uncertain times.

Notes: Mandarin, lemon, rhubarb, solar accord, petitgrain, jasmine petals, fig leaf, lavender, Ambroxan, moss and musk.

Disclaimer:  I would like to thank Atelier Des Ors for my treasured bottle of Blanc Polychrome.  My opinions are my own.

  • interesting notes. Although i dislike fig this one has many more notes i enjoy. I would definitely love this if the fig is not prominent. My fav from the brand is lune feline. Im from Greece

  • This does sound like a lovely light sparkly ‘white’ fragrance. White contains all the colors of the light so it makes sense that it has so many undertones to it. It really does sound dreamy and bright. I haven’t tried anything from this house yet. I live in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • That bottle is absolutely stunning! Kind of curious about the solar accord.
    EU. Thanks for the draw!

  • Atelier Des Ors Blanc Polychrome really intrigues me. Lot of notes I enjoy such as citrus, jasmine, and lavender. This seems fitting in the blanc collection, given the notes and even the color of the perfume liquid. I am in US

  • Atelier des Ors is one of my favorite houses.
I owned a few of them and I really liked how this fragrance is described as spiritual. It really looks like a fragrance that makes you go places and feel free.

  • Love the discussion of white paint! When we painted our ceilings we realized how many variations there are and ended up choosing a tone that gave a cloud-like effect. Fantastic job at depicting the fragrance; definitely suits the individual notes. My favorite Atelier des Ors fragrance is Rose Omeyyade. From NJ, USA.

  • Those fig leaf and rhubarb notes along with a base of ambroxan sound so crisp yet with so much character! I am a HUGE fan of lune feline, and have been saving for a full bottle! I am based in the USA and would love to win this!

Soothing to the eyes and nose. Lovely impressions. Favourite from the brand remains Lune Feline, but I recently got to try a sample of Bois Sikar and decided to layer them. Wowwee. USA

  • Gail, great review! You are so right, white is never just white – ask anyone on the fine papers industry and they will agree wholeheartedly. I love your descriptions of the notes in this, particularly the crisp, crunchy rhubarb and silky Ambroxan, mhmmmm.

I have some sampling to do of Atelier Des Ors! I do have a sample of Rose Omeyyade that I need to wrap my nose around.

  • Rhapsody in White! I remember selecting colors for room years go which we decided to paint “white”. There were at least 30 shades we had to choose from. I love the aspirational light and radiance of this fragrance. Citrus, lavender, rhubarb, and jasmine sound wonderfully uplifting. I’m familiar with Ambroxan but I would love to try the solar accord. Thanks for the detailed review, Gail. I’ve never tried any of the Atelier des Ors line. Commenting from MD, USA.

  • Uncle Stinky says:

Gail’s reviews make me excited to smell the scents reviewed – especially this one!

US resident – no favorite Atelier Des Ors scent

  • An ethereal, effervescent spiritual fragrance that last for more than twelve hours sounds fantastic! The warm white color description of the scent also appeals to me. I do not have a favorite Atelier Des Ors fragrance yet but thanks for the introduction to this line. I live in the US.

  • Shamrock1313 says:

Wonderful description Gail – also, straight to point with the facts-I love it!

The description of an ‘ethereal, effervescent, spiritual fragrance’ stood out for me. Sounds like the opposite of what I usually wear, dense, resin, incense type perfumes. I’ve never tried a Atelier Des Ors fragrance but have read other reviews about their perfumes. I do like their bottles, they look like elegant cut crystal glasses.

  • chiaravirga says:

Very interesting review! I love ethereal fragrances, they’re a ‘passepartout’ in every fragrance wardrobe! Atelier Des Ors also has the best packaging, truly stunning. I’m very curious about the solar accord!

  • zhiang0113 says:

I loved how the review continued the theme of white light and its colour components, and the beautifully worded description really let the fragrance come alive in my mind. It seems like a soothing, calming scent that would be great for these times we’re in right now. I’ve been interested in Blanc Polychrome for a while now (what a name), and I’d love to be able to try it out! I live in the UK 🙂

  • lindseyl1985 says:

Gail had me smiling with the reference to selecting paint- oh what an endeavor that can be selecting a shade and being surprised by what you end up with on the wall. I also liked to hear about a 12 hr. EDC, that’s impressive! These bottles are too beautiful and the juice inside is always highly praised I cannot believe I have not to have sampled anything as of yet to mention a favorite. Thanks for the giveaway, from NY.

  • Gabriel Garcia Leyva says:

    Great review spotlight,
Atelier de ors and this wonderful light scent, of a joyful bouquet, yes I have never tried this, and just seems like very pleasant and beautiful. My favorite is lune feline, Las Vegas NV

  • This perfume sounds like a dream and the review manages to capture this fabulous impression. I always thought that Atelier des Ors scents are more „serious”, but this one seems really different. I would love to try it. I don’t have a favourite Atelier des Ors perfume, because I didn’t manage to try enough of their creations. I live in Romania, EU.

  • Atelier Des Ors Blanc Polychrome, while technically an Eau de Cologne, is persistent and long lived. From the first breath to the last impression, Blanc Polychrome is an ethereal, effervescent spiritual fragrance, an experience of energy, life and light that lifts the mood and calms the spirit, perfect for these uncertain times. Intrigued by the longevity and the notes sound sumptuous. My favourite from this house is Rose Ommeyade. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • Brush strokes of sensual jasmine, fresh cut lavender, green fig leaf and crunchy rhubarb alternately appear and dissolve into a canvas of silvery, silky Ambroxan, a beautiful description by Gail. I am intrigued by the notes especially by rhubarb and solar accord. I don’t have experience with this house I am afraid. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • ElenaChiss says:

I like pretty much everything I have tried from Atelier des Ors and even if Blanc Polychrome is like a classic eau de cologne and a departure from this house’s signature mix being lighter, I am sure I will like it as well. I am based in Europe. Many thanks for the draw!

  • The bottle is to die for like the others from Atelier Des Ors. I agree with Gail; ethereal and spiritual is all we need at the moment to continue moving forward without damaging our souls. USA

  • Bryant Worley says:

I appreciated her description ofthe fragrance as if it was a painting – – “The cool, sunny, purity gradually surrenders its initial edge to a joyful bouquet of radiant bell tones, olfactory hues that diffuse like watercolors over the surface of bright cotton paper….Brush strokes of sensual jasmine, fresh cut lavender, green fig leaf and crunchy rhubarb alternately appear and dissolve into a canvas of silvery, silky Ambroxan….The continuum of translucent colors dance on the skin for twelve hours and more, subsumed at last in The cool, sunny, purity gradually surrenders its initial edge to a joyful bouquet of radiant bell tones, olfactory hues that diffuse like watercolors over the surface of bright cotton paper”. • Great to see this collaboration between Atelier des Ors and Marie Salamagne that produced a solar eau de cologne. It has been a long time since I have tried something by Marie Salamagne, but I hope Blanc Polychrome will break this circle.
    Thank you! EU

  • I truly don’t believe I’ve ever seen this note combination: jasmine, lavender, fig leaf, rhubarb. And the fact that this comes together into a light white fragrance seems miraculous. I am very curious to smell this. I also like the gold glittery aspects inside the bottle. I am in the USA. Thank you for the review and draw.

  • Interesting notes and I love the photo this looks almost magical! Would love to try, thanks for the chance and the great review.

  • Iuno Feronia says:

Thanks for this review, although I am not a fan of lavender, the other notes mandarin, lemon, rhubarb, solar accord, petitgrain, jasmine petals and fig leaf, sound so wonderfuly sunny, I really would likt to try this perfume.

Thanks for this draw, I live in the EU.

  • I enjoyed her breakdown of the feagrance in particular, “Brush strokes of sensual jasmine, fresh cut lavender, green fig leaf and crunchy rhubarb alternately appear and dissolve into a canvas of silvery, silky Ambroxan?…” This sounds wonderful for summer. I live in the U.S. and sadly haven’t tried any Atelier Des Ors although I want to try a number along with this one such as Lune Feline, Iris Fauve, Chouer Des Anges, Pomelo Riviera, etc. Thanks for the generous draw.

  • twiggy3634 says:

Very interested to see what this “solar accord” is. I live in Indiana and have not tried any Atelier Des Ors.

  • This sounds like a bright, happy fragrance. Would be great to wear it in the summer, I suppose.
My favorite Atelier des Ors fragrance is Lune Feline.
    I’m from Europe.

  • A beautiful lemon scent buoyed by white florals. AdO is really doing great things with citrus these days, and I am a superfan! Sillage is ginormous.
Gail described it as a painting with rays of early morning sunshine playing off bedroom walls, that is interesting.
    Iowa, USA

  • Bacuzzi Babs says:

Surprisingly long lasting for a citrusy perfume, though it remains close to the skin. I smell mainly zest from lemons and oranges and some clean musk. Occasionally something slightly bitter and green wafts by. It is unsweetened, which is lucky as it would have smelled like Fanta otherwise. Pretty nice. Pleasantly uncomplicated.
Gail, you are such a great painter.

  • ‘Brush strokes of sensual jasmine, fresh cut lavender, green fig leaf and crunchy rhubarb alternately appear and dissolve into a canvas of silvery, silky Ambroxan’ It definitely sounds amazing to me. I am intrigued to try this perfume out! It will be my first Atelier Des Ors perfume if I win the draw.
    Florida, USA

  • A bright and transparent fragrance it seems like. Both the review and the bottle makes me think of a ray of light. It sounds lovely. I have recently sampled Choeur des Anges from Atelier des Ors and loved it. I think they can definitely pull off a fragrance such as this one. Thank you for the beautiful review and the giveaway. Greetings from the EU.

  • abbie road says:

This bottle is beautiful. The fresh perfume lasting 12+ hours is quite remarkable. I adore hearing Gail’s experience with the fragrance. USA

  • I love fig fragnances in general and especially in the summer. My favourite quote from review is “energy, life and light that lifts the mood and calms the spirit, perfect for these uncertain times.”
    I’m in Slovenia.

  • Atelier Des Ors Blanc Polychrome sound gorgeous. There are a lot of notes that I enjoy (especially in summer) such as petitgrain, lemon, mandarin, moss, musk, jasmine and lavender. Also the bottle looks stunning and Gail’s review is wonderful, especially this quote: “Blanc Polychrome is an ethereal, effervescent spiritual fragrance, an experience of energy, life and light that lifts the mood and calms the spirit, perfect for these uncertain times”….. wow.
I live in EU. Thank you Atelier Des Ors and Cafleurebon for this supernice draw.

  • Wow does this sound magical! I love how the notes seem to dance throughout the length of the wear of this fragrance! I think my favorite is Lune Feline. I’m in Pennsylvania!

  • Since I’m currently repainting my apartment, I definitely understand the different shades of white, from the “rays of early morning sunshine ” to the “warm white pigment of musk and moss”. Sounds like a clean and sensuous offering, definitely up my alley. I like their Larmes du Desert and I’m based in the US.

  • I love how it is compared to watercolour. I love painting in watercolours so this especially appeals to me. I am in U.K. and have never tried anything from the line but would love to.

  • Nice draw about an interesting fragrance i would never been heard from, thank you for your advice 🙂
To experience it by my own would be a pleassure.
I like the fragrance house so far i read about it, this new scent looks like a new adventure for me.
    I am from Germany,

Ambroxan + sensual creamy jasmine sounds like a wonderful combo. Can’t wait to try all Atelier Des Ors fragrances. VA, USA.

  • The frag will give you sense of summer, jasmine+ citrus all summer joy , which I love, Im in Sweden EU

  • I tend to like fragrances that are transparent, or in really light colours – something like this can never be aggressive to a nose :).
Reading Gail’s review and the listed notes proves me right – Blanc Polychrome must be a real gem. Too bad I don’t know any fragrance from Atelier Des Ors.
Lusting for Blanc Polychrome right from Europe 🙂

  • I have no fave from the house but look forward to experiencing this Blanc Polychrome. The accompanying notes with the citrus read as promising. US

  • I love that this fragrance is inspired by hues of white and enjoyed reading the expression “brilliant liquid canvas”. The bottle is absolutely stunning! I haven’t tried the creations from this line, so I’m very curious. In the USA.

  • I love this perfume being described as a white, bright, effervescent perfume that is beaming with light. Sometimes that is all one needs. No complications or unexpected turns, just a simple and pure experience which makes one feel empowered, honest and affirmative. I am in the EU and have yet to try my first AdO. Thank you.

  • Stefan Cretu says:

I own Lune Feline and it’s the most gorgeous vanilla in a exquisite bottle. I have nothing in my collection that surpasses the presentation of Atelier des Ors. This one sounds right up my alley, uplifting and spiritual. I’d love to have it!!
    Stefan, Eu

  • Beautiful description!
Such a nice combination of ingredients- sensual jasmine, fresh lavender, green fig leaf, rhubarb, ambroxan- sounds veru beautiful. And in addition, as Gail said- good longevity.
    I need this perfume.
    USA

  • The review was like a painting. Starting with the canvas explaining the general idea. Then a background so we understand the world we’ll be entering. Gail then paints the structure and finishes with the minute detail we can detect if we pay close attention.

At least that’s how I experienced it. Very interesting!

I live in the UK. I have tested Cuir Sacre and was impressed with the quality.

  • My husband and I are in the process of purchasing our first home. We are a few weeks out from closing yet, but we have spent time on the pleasurable chore leafing through the various shades of green to find “the one” for our living room. Now to decide on our bedroom’s color…maybe white? Blanc Polychrome sounds (and looks) absolutely divine! This would be my first from Atelier Des Ors, though I’ve swooned over the design of their bottles for some time. USA

  • patrick_348 says:

I love the list of notes that Gail says “appear and dissolve.” That described non-linearity is appealing, and the notes listed are just varied enough to be interesting without being crazy. I have never tried an Atelier des Ors fragrance, but this sounds super. I live in the US, in North Carolina.

  • m.r.everything says:

As with all of the Atelier Des Ors bottles, this is another stunning presentation! They have given us an angel in the form of scent! After Gail’s lovely write-up on the different shades of white thrown at us from Blanc Polychrome, how could one not want to at least sample this (sure to be) beauty?!? It sounds phenomenal and, like Gail states, just what we need during these uncertain times…. something to get us through… a guiding light. I think it also sounds like it would go perfectly with the unruly heat we have been having here on the east coast as of late. I have only sampled a few of Atelier Des Ors creations, and have loved a few of them. I still have quite a few more that I would really like to get a sniff of though. Thank you, Gail, for your beautiful review on Blanc Polychrome and for bringing this one to our attention! Big gratitude goes to Atelier Des Ors for their generosity and for this superb, uplifting opportunity! Thanks, as always, to Michelyn, for making all this happen! It is appreciated more than you know! Sending warm wishes and love from Delaware, US. Take care all and stay safe!

  • I love how beautifully Gail described Blanc Polychrome: “From the first breath to the last impression, Blanc Polychrome is an ethereal, effervescent spiritual fragrance, an experience of energy, life and light that lifts the mood and calms the spirit, perfect for these uncertain times.” I also enjoyed amazing photos she did for this review.
According the review in this creation of Perfumer Marie Salamagne it’s perfect combination of Notes: Mandarin, lemon, rhubarb, solar accord, petitgrain, jasmine petals, fig leaf, lavender, Ambroxan, moss and musk. Another beautiful review from Cafleurebon and Giveaway, thank you. FLORIDA

  • What a lovely review by Gail Gross. The images, the writing – the kind of review that would make you fall in love with paints, and perfumes, all over again. Right away, Gail captured me with how one color is not one, but many shades/hues of that color, maybe hundreds, or maybe thousands, or even more. Had this experience getting our house painted, and had the blues learning that blue is not one blue, but many blues. And then the exasperation of finding out that the blue we loved at the store looked so different in reality. And the exasperation of choosing a ghastly purple that our nice painter was filling to re-do as we had chosen a dangerous color for our sanity and peace of mind. Learned how people good with paints really work at their craft. Similarly, for perfumes. Gail created a wonderful imagery with words what Blanc Polychrome does with olfactory notes what a painter does with his colors. And, the bottle is so beautiful. The listed notes of mandarin, lemon, rhubarb, solar accord, petitgrain, jasmine petals, fig leaf, lavender, Ambroxan, moss and musk makes this uplifting fragrance well worth trying. Hope Lady Luck shines on me and I can win it – surprisingly, I didn’t find it on the listed website. Thanks for the review and the draw. Writing from the USA.

  • What a beautiful bottle! And if you say it reminds “rays of early morning sunshine playing off bedroom walls” and it is suitable for uncertain times, I wanna participate!
    Many thanks!

  • From this brand I’ve tried larmes du désert which is stunning. What appeals me the most about the review is the kind of spiritual quality this perfume evoques.
Many thanks for this draw, I live in France

I loved the descriptions of how white as a color can reflect so many variations in tone. Translating that to fragrance is amazing. I love rhubarb and having that in this is terrific. Many thanks to Gail for a wonderful review and many thanks to Atelier Des Ors for this fabulous draw. I’m in the USA

  • What I enjoyed most about the review was how engaging and bright it was , the energy matched the brightness of the fragrance and it was a pleasure to read.

The quote “From the first breath to the last impression, Blanc Polychrome is an ethereal, effervescent spiritual fragrance, an experience of energy, life and light that lifts the mood and calms the spirit, perfect for these uncertain times. ”

How could I not be captivated by that.

The description of Blanc Polychrome as a fragrance that in all its evolution maintains the characteristics of being bright and stimulates self confidence is beautiful. With your words, it’s an “ethereal, effervescent spiritual fragrance, an experience of energy, life and light that lifts the mood and calms the spirit”. A medicine for the soul!
I live in EU and I never tried Atelier Des Ors fragrances.
    Thanks!

  • The bottle is indeed special. The way the light falls on it in the article picture really gives the impression of something born out of sun rays. I wonder how is the liquid inside, but I bet it has that same solar vibe to it. I am in Europe. Thank you for the draw!

  • I want this “Donna Blanca” in my life because white makes me think about fresh flowers, rain drops and snow and there are 39 Celsius degrees in my house right now! this is almost an SOS 🙂 I live in EU.

  • IvanVelikov says:

I don’t mind slightly sweet citrus fragrances , but this time I’m happy to know sweetness is restrained. Multifaceted fragrance suitable for all occasions is what I expect from Polychrome.
To me Atelier Des Ors equals class , beauty and creativity , but most importantly equals Rose Omeyyade . If i have to describe it with one word it will be phenomenal. Not only it smells gorgeous , but gets me huge amount of compliments. I do not wear fragrances for compliments , but it’s nice to get noticed .
Thanks Gail – good job , and of course thanks to Atelier Der Ors .
    Thanks
    USA

  • I do not know any from this house, but the notes sound really wonderful. It would be great if I had the chance to test it. I am in Europe. Thanks!

  • I have smelled 2 Atelier des Ors creations and Lune Feline is my favorite , even though Bois Sikar is pretty good too. Lune Feline is one of the few fragrances I bought the same day after initial testing. Usually I do like to sample first, especially when I’m paying retail prices. For every gourmand and vanilla lover – try it. One of the best vanilla fragrance ever created. And I know vanilla well being a Pastry Chef.
Rhubarb & Lime Curd Cake is what Blanc Polychrome reminded me of. No doubt about it, I will check it out
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign

  • Blanc Polychrome is one of the few Atelier des Ors fragrances I do not know. Tart , floral and mystical . Why I do not know it ? I’d like to win a bottle of this beauty.
My gold medal for the best Atelier des Ors fragrance goes to Lune Feline, silver one to Iris Fauve and bronze to Bois Sikar.
    Thanks for the opportunity.
Back and forth between USA and Scotland, one week in US -> 1 week in Scotland and so on , basically both USA and EU/UK at the same time.

  • Love that it is ethereal and effervescent with notes of citrus, fig and rhubarb. Haven’t tried any from this house. IL, USA.

  • Gail review was like a folktale with happy ending 🙂
I’m sure Blanc Polychrome is well made .
Rose Omeyyade is my favorite Atelier des Ors fragrance, birthday gift I received from my sister 2.5 years ago. I’m wearing it on special occasions only.

After Gail Gross awesome story about her years in Iran in her Rouge Sarây review, i immediately ordered a sample.
I’m amazed by Lune Feline and Rouge Saray. Bought are stunning, and both are cold weather fragrances.
I have a feeling Blanc Polychrome is mid spring, early autumn one , enjoyable citrusy fragrance . 12 hours i doubt i will last so much, but 7-8 would be great.
I can’t pick one favorite Atelier des Ors, Lune Feline and Rouge Saray are equally great.
    Exciting giveaway, USA

  • Great description, Blanc Polychrome sounds really good. I love or like most of the Atelier des Ors creations, and my absolute favourite is Lune Feline, amazing fragrance. Thanks for the draw, i’m in the EU.

  • Nice looking bottle. This sounds like a light fragrance. I’ve smelled a few fragrances with fig which were nice but not a big fan of Fig. I’d like to check this out. Thanks, Ca

  • Gail reviews i appreciate, just like I appreciate good long lasting natural smelling fragrances . “Morning Sunshine” well fits the review. Fig+rhubarb+mandarin and jasmine, sounds lovely.
Before I tell my best Atelier des Ors fragrances, I have to say sampling the brand, if you want to know the whole range it’s HARD if you live in USA. Mid June i finally decided to try all they got, and long story short I ordered samples from Ebay, from Germany. Both official distributors in USA LuckyScent and Osswald do Not carry the whole line , both bottles and samples.
When i got the samples, all Iris Fauve, Rose Omeyyade Lune Feline and Rouge Saray stood up to me the most.
Iris Fauve is what I decided to buy, and again I HAD to buy it for abroad because it’s not available at both boutiques i mentioned.
Hopefully in a few years Jovoy will expand to USA, with all due respect when I’m paying $250-$300 or above for a premium niche fragrance , I expect premium niche service , and often I don’t get it.
Thanks again Cafleurebon and Gail, and Atelier des Ors for the generosity.

I am very excited to smell this summer sent. I love all the fresh smells of spring and summer. I would love a chance to be honored to win this bottle and appreciate the amazing cents.

  • Jake Dauod says:

I like how Gail ties the notes to specific places because her descriptions encoded memories and I was clearly able to visualize how the fragrance would smell to my nose. My favorite Atelier De Ors has to be Rouge Saray. Kind regards from Illinois, USA.

  • John Moler says:

I love the way he described the way the fragrance presents itself but I have to say his photos give this review something that is really eye catching. I live in the USA and I have not tried anything from this house yet.

  • Beautiful review! I love Atelier des Ors fragrances, Iris Fauve is my absolute favourite from the brand and every collection and new fragrance they release is better than the previous ones. I’m really intrigued to try Blanc Polychrome! I’m in the UK

  • Sara Patterson says:

You captured me with…” sensual jasmine, fresh cut lavender, green fig leaf and crunchy rhubarb alternately appear and dissolve into a canvas of silvery, silky Ambroxan,”

A jasmine lover myself, I imagine it being mived with the green fog and crunchy rhubarb and it just sounds Devine.

  • doveskylark says:

I love Gail’s ability to relate the notes of this fragrance to an artist’s brushstrokes. I’m curious about the rhubarb and jasmine notes. I like how the final musk notes become a “warm white pigment.” I haven’t tried anything from Atelier Des Ors.
    I live in the USA.

  • What a great ingredients in this perfume – andarin, lemon, rhubarb, jasmine, Ambroxan, moss and musk !! Sound very fresh but with little chypre touch!! And so nice bottle. I like Atelier des Ors, especially Lune Feline.

Rhubarb AND fig AND jasmine? Yes!

I don’t have a favorite Atelier Des Ors yet, I’m in the USA, and I think Gail did an excellent job discussing how these uplifting notes harmonize together to meet the theme.

  • ScentitarFragrance says:

I love the use of descriptive words that really helo me understand the fragrance ! Words like translatent, sparkling, fresh cut and au de cologne like. I love the sound of this one lavender, fresh and with a delicate jasmine sounds so so bewutiful. I love the delicate many colors you might see in chrome or even in petrol ! I live in ms, usa and have not tried this house yet.

  • Margarita K says:

I think that citrus floral would be perfect for these hot sunny days, just like a glass of sweet lemonade. I’ve never tried any of Atelier Des Ors fragrances and would love to. I like Gail’s description of ” an ethereal, effervescent spiritual fragrance”. Good longevity is always a big plus.

  • Love the imagery. Sounds like a nice light fragrance that has the potential to pick your mood up. Best of luck from CA, USA.

  • I like the idea of a silver white background of Ambroxan. That’s close to how I would describe Menthe Froide by Bijan (C. Zarokian) and pretty much the best usage of that synthetic Amb* / Musc base layer I encountered so far. I’m really curious how Marie Salamagne tackles the challenge of how to integrate this without going too much Sauvage. So I would love to win this to Germany, thanks for the draw!

  • Great review by Gail and I loved her opening about paint not being the same as it is at the paint store! I also love here accompanying pictures and description of the fragrance. This sounds like such an uplifting and spiritually awakening fragrance. My favorite part is: “From the first breath to the last impression, Blanc Polychrome is an ethereal, effervescent spiritual fragrance, an experience of energy, life and light that lifts the mood and calms the spirit, perfect for these uncertain times.” Thanks for the generous giveaway and I live in the US!

  • The bottle is stunning, but Gail had me at the hypnotic effects of creamy jasmine and life and light that lifts the mood and calms the spirit, perfect for these uncertain times.
I feel like I really need this perfume 😀 Greetings from EU (Romania). I don`t have any Atelier Des Ors fragrance yet.

  • I enjoy gail’s review more and more. She paints such a beautiful picture just like an artist but with words instead of a brush. She says Brush strokes of sensual jasmine, fresh cut lavender, green fig leaf and crunchy rhubarb alternately appear and dissolve into a canvas of silvery, silky Ambroxan. This sounds beautiful to me, the notes calling my name. I would love to try this as I haven’t tried any from this house yet. I’m based in the US

  • Thanks for beautiful review!!!
I enjoyed destination of start: “opens with a splash of light, recalling rays of early morning sunshine playing off bedroom walls.”.
Than crisp green rhubarb, sensual jasmine, green fig and woody Ambroxan. Sounds perfect!
    Love Atelier des Ors.

Gail, this was an amazing review of Atelier Des Ors Blanc Polychrome. I like how the beautiful presentation of the translucent bottle with the gold flakes along with how this fragrance smells was tied into art. This fragrance is crisp, light, and fresh with an assortment of citrus, green notes, and florals with a backbone of ambroxan and a pleasant drydown of musk and moss. This sounds like the perfect fragrance for this time of year. My favorite Atelier Des Ors fragrance is Rouge Saray. I am from the USA.

  • Gail Gresko says:

Pure in spirit and fluidity. Gail’s review brought me to that bright, ethereal, and calming place we so need during today’s times. I’ve never worn any of Atelier Des Ors’ fragrances, but would love to experience this Blanc Polychrome. Living in OH, USA.

  • Gail’s review of Atelier Des Ors Blanc Polychrome was very informative and interesting. She really knows her stuff when it comes to describing fragrances. The notes sound very well blended and beautiful. I’m a big fan of citrus scented colognes. I’ve never tried anything from this house before but I’d love to. Thanks for the great review and the great giveaway! Commenting from Kentucky USA.

  • Thanks for this lovely review, Gail. I love everything about it. I have not tried an Atelier Des Ors fragrance and I live in the US.

  • I love the comparison with an early sunny morning, as it reminds me of my childhood — Atelier Des Ors Blanc Polychrome opens with a splash of light, recalling rays of early morning sunshine playing off bedroom walls. I don’t have an Atelier Des Ors favourite, as I really don’t know any of their fragrances. I live in the EU.

  • Being Atelier des Ors fanboy I have smelled all their fragrances, excluding the two new 2020 Rouge Saray and Blanc Polychrome , both I’m eager to try , because I crave fresh and moody fragrances for the summer, and sweet fruity Orientals for the colder months.
My favorite Atelier des Ors hmmm Bois Sikar maybe?

“Hopefully in a few years Jovoy will expand to USA” , from Gig84 post
From your lips to God’s ears 🙂 Such move will highly benefit us, the niche buyers, and will drastically change the niche market in US for good.

Great review as always but i’m sad it’s so short 🙁 Atelier Des Ors is amazing house, i have samples of Rose Omeyyade and Aube Rubis and I loved them, price is unfortunatelly quite high, but it’s understandable for a quality. The bottle is out of this world, so beautiful, first in the collection with gold cap, so it’s supposed to be a king of the house ,and i hope it will be. Poland, EU.

  • I liked the idea that colors are affected by its environment much as scent is as well. I also am impressed by the use of light in the photo that conveys the sentiments in the review so well. I live in the USA.

  • Rhubarb and fig are two of my favorites. Mood lifting and spirit calming really appeal to me at this time. I’ve heard of the line, especially Feline Lune, but haven’t smelled any. I love the gold flakes in the bottle, this might have been nice with white gold for a change. Great review. Thanks for the chance. USA.

Thanks for the great review Gail.

I love that this fragrance explores the different hues of white. The interplay of light and color has always fascinated me, esepecially in terms of color termperature. It is curious to see this concept translated into a scent.

I have not had the pleasure of smelling this house before.

    Regards from WI, USA

  • Thank you everyone for your comments, compliments and for taking part in the draw. And once again, many thanks to Atelier des Ors for generously providing a bottle of the beautiful Blanc Polychrome. Please check back here at CaFleureBon for the announcement of the lucky winner.

  • I like the summer frag as this one with citrus+musk+lavender its my favorite mix plus I like the bottle a lot. Im in Sweden EU.

  • Loved Gail’s description of this scent being effervescent and soothing. I definitely need this scent given these current times we all live in. The bottle in itself is gorgeous! I really enjoy this house. I own lune feline from Atelier des ors and absolutely adore it. Greeting from MN, USA!
