valentines day perfume for him and her

I have never bought into the hype of Valentine's Day and giving the perfect gift; maybe it is me but throughout my life even the most well meaning of friends, family, spouses and boyfriends bought me something I never would use. The Ferragamo Scarf (I am an Hermes girl), a dozen roses (via FTD with baby's breath signed by the florist), a  heart shaped box of milk chocolates with mystery fillings (no comment) and the infamous  Victoria Secrets pink tee shirt  and panty set with GIANT red hearts (made my butt look like a  moving target). Of course I ooohed and ahhhed and yes the thought counted ALOT, but a flacon of Atelier Cologne in Vanille Insensee, Blanche Immortelle or Pomelos Paradis would have been perfect (really, I am not hard to please).

  • Favorite romantic movie? Got to go with the classic, An Affair to Remember. I can watch that over and over. I would so love to win this for Valentine’s Day – I will be gifting my daughter. It’s a hard decision choosing a gift for someone else. Orange Sanguine is one of my very favorites, I just purchased a second bottle. So I would choose two scents I haven’t yet tried but are on my list because I know she’d share with me – Trefle Pur and Pomelo Paradis. For the leather wrap the Venetian Blue color – blue is her favorite color.

  • My favorite love sorry would have to be Ada or Ardor by Nabakov- this will be for my daughter who loves vanilla so my choice would be vanilla incensee and rose anonyme-. And coral is her color so it is perfect! Thank s so much

  • I love the movie The Notebook. This would’ve be for my mom: vanilla incense and Amber nue with the coral case. I think she will love it!

  • Okay, I’m not sure if this really counts as a ‘romantic’ movie – but I really love Immortal Beloved, about Beethoven. There’s a scene where he describes the inspiration for this piece of music – his cart stuck in the mud, his secret love waiting for him at a hotel, and missing each other by just moments. It’s breathtaking. Should I win – I’d love to try Pomelo Paradis and Trefle Pur, with the Aubergine case. Thanks so much for the generous draw – I tweeted it as well!

  • My favorite quotes about love are too many to list, and too difficult to choose one from another. This one resonates tonight:
“For all his wisdom, he did not know that love cannot be tested. Honesty can be tested and loyalty. But there is not test for love. Love goes on forever, once it begins, even if we come to hate the one we love. Love goes on forever because love is born in the part of us that does not die.”
    ― Gregory David Roberts, Shantaram

US resident. Thank you for the draw!

  • My favorite Love songs from 2014 “Stay with Me’ Sam Smith & Hosier “Take Me to Church.” Thanks to a friend for turning me on to a different type of music 😉 I would #sharethelove with my current love. I would choose Vetiver Fatal and Ambre Nue in the Aubergine case. I am in the US and wish my past loves knew I’m easy to please as well… Atelier Cologne always a good choice. Thanks to Atelier for #sharingthelove.

  • Fazal Cheema says:

my favorite romantic movie is A Walk in the Clouds and I know it is not a movie many may count as a favorite but I like to be different 🙂 Thank you so much for the wonderful valentine draw. My choices for this draw will be Pomelo Paradis and Rose Anonyme. My choice of leather case will be Aubergine which I may also use with other six 30ml Atelier Cologne bottles I have. I am in the US, btw, I am single at the moment so I may be gifting myself instead 🙂

  • My favorite love song is “Your Song” by Elton John. I would choose Rose Anonyme and Vanille Insensee with the lemon case. I would share with my sister 🙂 Thank you!

  • A romantic movie that I recently became enthralled with is “Paris Blues (1961)”. The film stars Sidney Poitier and a young and GORGEOUS Paul Newman as well as Joanne Woodward and Diahann Carroll. The interaction between Newman and Woodward is so genuine and underscores the length of their marriage. A multi-faceted story that covers many topics including racism, but was so well done that I could not take my eyes away from it. There is also a cameo by Louis Armstong. My fragrance choices would be Vanille Insensée and Rose Anonyme with a Coral Leather case. I would be the grateful recipient because I took care of and gifted everybody else when I could and now as I get older, I cherish those gifts given to me which DOES NOT happen often.

  • What a beautiful draw. Above and Beyond did an acoustic album of all their love songs and is just stunningly romantic to listen to. The 15 piece band with their melodic melodies entrance, soothing the soul and heart. My other half deserves this as I have finally got him excited about fragrances and I know Atelier is a brand he wears well. I would choose Vetiver Fatal and Cedrat Enivrant with the Lemon case. In the US and I am tweeting right after I submit comment. Thank you kindly.

  • My favorite love move (of many) is Serendipity. I will pick Oolang Infini and Mistral Patchouli 30 in the aubergine case. 🙂 usa

  • My favorite love story would be “The Little Prince” – a bit unconventional/unexpected, I realize, but from it also comes my favorite quote: “Here is my secret. It is very simple: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” I would choose Pomelo Paradis and Grand Neroli, with a coral case, to be shared with my eldest sister, Ana, who first shared “The Little Prince” with me when I was little. She is a tireless mother of five, a strong and beautiful cancer survivor, and still among my inspirations. She had a flourishing career that she gave up to take care of her family, which she continued to do selflessly even through her illness. Though it might amount to just a small gesture, it would be nice to be able to do this for her as she often places herself last on her list of priorities.

  • I never repeat movie or tv viewings except for this one: the BBC series from the 90’s of Pride and Prejudice. That one I can watch every couple of years. I would pick Cedrant Enivrant and Pomelo Paradis were I to win. USA. Thank you!

  • Elizabeth T, says:

Oh Michelyn, I feel your pain with the gifts! My favorite love song at the moment is Jon McLaughlin-My Girl Tonight. I’d choose Trefle Pur and Orange Sanguine in burgundy. I’d be sharing with my sister who needs a pick-me-up right now. Thanks for an awesome draw!

  • I’m going with the same pick as Cynthia above. I’ve watched that production of Pride and Prejudice at least ten times. It’s probably due for another viewing in fact.

If I win, I would like Trefle Pur, Mistral Patchouli, and the Burgundy case. I am in Canada.

    Thanks

  • Hmm, there are so many good romantic songs, so I won’t even try to pick one of those. I suppose my current favorite romantic movie would be the Titanic, it’s what comes to mind, but I’m sure I’ve seen other ones that have made me emotional. Thank you for this draw. I am in the US. I would love to win the coral case with Mistral Patchouli and Bois Blonds. It might not be romantic, but I would like to gift this to my mom, who loves the Atelier Cologne line.

  • There are so many choices for everything and they change as we age. I’m going to name, as romantic book The Little Prince. For the draw I’ll go with and Trefle Pur & Oolang Infini. USA

  • I would want two Trefle Purs in lime green. So hard to pick one romantic anything- but perhaps Gone with the Wind, movie-wise. I’m in the US.

  • My Favorite love story movie is The Notebook and favorite love song is I’ll Always Love You by Taylor Dayne. Mistral Patchouli and Orange Sanguine in “Venetian Blue” please.

  • Two of my favorite romantic movies are The Time Traveler’s Wife and City of Angels. I guess I like my romance with a touch of fantasy! I would love Rose Anonyme and Vanille Insensee with the Venetian Blue case. Thank you for this fantastic draw! I’m in the US.

  • I was once told I looked like Jennifer Ehle in Pride and Prejudice-one of the best compliments of my life.

My favorite love story begins ” This ia a diary of hate”. It is The End of the Affair by Graham Greene. Loved the movie as much as the book, too.

If I won I would choose Mistral Patchouli and Oolang Infini, in an aubergine case.

Thanks, and have a great day,

    Carole

  • My favorite love song goes way back…Gladys
Knight singing ” The first time ever I saw your face…”
I would choose Mistral Patchouli and Treflle Pour in a lime green green case for Mom .. Thank you !

  • Sharyl Morris says:

Ah, I love the Atelier draws! Thank you!

I’m not much of a romantic, admittedly, but count me among the Pride and Prejudice fans!

I would add to my nascent Atelier collection with Vanille Insensee and Orange Sanguine with the coral case. These are my favorites to mix together before retiring to my bedroom to read at night. I smell like an orange creamsicle!

  • Our obsession with Boston sports teams leads us to watch FEVER PITCH this time of year!

I would gift these lovely fragrances to Nanci, my significant other…And would love to win Grand Neroli, Rose Anonyme, and a case in Aubergine.

    Thank you!
    Deborah
    NYC

  • My two fave romantic songs are I Only Have Eyes For You and The Way You Look Tonight. I don’t know that I have a favorite romantic movie… I really love A Walk To Remember though. I would like to win Vanille Insensee and Vetiver Fatale in the Venetian Blue case with the script, golden, horizontal engraving. It would be a wonderful addition for my mother. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • My favorite love story book is Jane Eyre. So beautifully written and such a timeless story. I’d choose Rose Anonyme and Pomelos Paradis with an aubergine case, for my mom. I live in the US. Thanks for the amazing draw!

  • “I just called to say I Love You’ Stevie Wonder. Yes- a bit cheesy and sentimental but I have memories connected with it as a child. I would choose Mistral Patchouli for my love and Ambre Nue for myself- getting married soon and we have been looking at Atelier Cologne’s site for perfume. I love the aubergine case.Such a wonderful variety. I am in the US. Its a beautiful draw!

  • Rose Anonyme and Oolong Infinie pour ma mère! In a Burgundy case, please.

Charade is flirtatious romance and fun embodied as we watch Audrey Hepburn (in an iconic Givenchy Wardrobe) and Cary Grant fall in love as they try to solve a murder mystery. I love the constant references to their age discrepancy as she pursues him relentlessly (despite having just found out her husband has been murdered!). The premise is quite absurd but remains fresh and so fun after 50 years. Paris is inextricable from the love story and I adore watching Grant, Hepburn, and sinister antagonist Walter Matthau flit between the Champs Élysées, les Halles, the left bank of the Seine, and the colonnade in the Jardin du Palais Royal. Such a treat!

Runner up: Gilda. Rita Hayworth is smoldering as the title character, a woman who can have any man but only wants the lover she so badly scorned (Glenn Ford ain’t so bad himself). A story of manipulation and love set in post-war Buenos Aires.

    Lovingly,
    Alex in Brooklyn

  • One of my favorite romantic movies would have to be ‘Only Lovers Left Alive.’ It is so incredibly atmospheric and visually stunning and shows the beauty of a profound, yet understated love. The bond Adam and Eve share is so lovely and powerful.

I would love to try Ambre Nue and Vanille Insensée in a Burgundy case.

  • Aaron Butler says:

My favorite romantic movie would also be, An Affair to Remember to echo, Carol W. The is nothing like a good classic love story regardless of Valentine’s Day or not! Thank you for the VERY generous perfume draw. I would choose Blanche Immortelle for my mother and Mistral Patchouli for myself. I would like the travel case in the color: Aubergine. Thank you again for the draw!

  • My favorite romantic movies are The Notebook and Casablanca. I’d love to win Pomelo Paradis and Ambre Nue with the Venetian blue case for my mother.

Thank you for the generous draw!
    U.S.

  • My favorite romantic movie is The Notebook.
I would pick Vanille Insensee and Mistral Patchouli in an
Aubergine case! I would be gifting this to my Mother. Thanks for this amazing draw!
    I live in the US.

  • My favorite love song of the moment is “Pretty Boy” by Young Galaxy… it’s such a cute song and reminds me of summertime and new love. 🙂 I would pick Rose Anonyme and Vanilla Incensee with an aubergine case and gift it to my fiancee, who smells scrumptious in unisex fragrances. Thank you for the draw; I am in the US.

  • My favorite romantic movie is Love Actually. I first saw it on a plane. I thought it would be boring but ended up really loving it.

If I win, I’d pick Mistral Patchouli and Rose Anonyme, with a Burgundy case.

Thanks for the lovely draw. I’m in Canada.

  • My favorite love song is either Bring It on Home to Me by Sam Cooke, or These Arms of Mine by Otis Redding. If I won, I would choose Pomelo Paradis and Grand Neroli in Lemon cases for my best friend and my husband, who both rarely try new fragrances. I’m in the US. Thanks!

  • rivercitylizzy says:

For me, “Pohai Ke Aloha” composed by the late great Aunty Lena Machado is the epitome of a love song, celebrating the enduring, fully ripened love that binds not just two hearts but an entire family together. It is a truly moving and beautiful tribute.

I would choose Pomelo Paradis and Ambre Nue in a Coral case for my mama, who I love more than my words can express. I am in the US and tweeted this post https://twitter.com/nanibrowneyes/status/565377896458772483

Thank you for this wonderful draw!

  • String of Pearls, by Glenn Miller. it was my parents wedding ong and I have since fallen in love with it.

Grand Neroli and Vanille Insence, with Yellow carrier, Gold Block writing, vertical alignment, “CDMCDONALD”

Thanks for the draw. USA here

  • So hard to decide which to choose! I think Oolong Infini and Vanille Incensee, with a Lime Green case! And for romance — whoa, that’s a tough call because it’s such a rich field, but I’d have to go with the song “What Are You Doing The Rest of Your Life.” I live in the US!

  • Elton John’s Your Song is the romantic tune I think of first when asked for a favorite, so it ranks among the best for rme. It is difficult to choose one favorite song, though, much like choosing a favorite Cologne Absolue is a challenge. I’ve sampled them all and enjoy so many of them. If I had to choose, I would say Cedrat Enivrant and Bois Blonds are the two from Atelier I would most like to smell on someone else. I would gift them to my significant other. The case in Atelier’s signature shade of Venetian Blue is fabulous.

  • Favorite song would absolutely be “The Look Of Love” which we danced to at our wedding, and my choices would be Cedrat and Pomelo in the burgundy case.

  • The song “Fable” by Aoife O’Donovan is among the most romantic and lovely songs I’ve ever known.

I’d choose Vetiver Fatal for my mama and Bois Blonds for my sweetie, with the venetian blue case.

Thanks cafleurebon and Atelier Cologne for another generous draw!

  • My favorite love song is “I Hate You But I Love You ” by Russian Red, really cool song. I live in the US and my two picks are Vetiver Fatal and Rose Anonyme and the Venetian blue case.

  • Cynthia Richardson says:

My favorite romantic movie is The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. I would choose Cologne Absolues Bois Blonds and Ambre Nue. The color of the case I would like should you win is Aubergine. I will be gifting my daughter-in-law Jenifer.

  • My favorite romantic movie is Four Weddings and a Funeral. I love the glimpses into the romance of not just the main protagonists, but also Charles’ friends, which paint a quirky, humorous, and ultimately realistic take on love. I would love to win a duo of Cédrat Enivrant and Rose Anonyme with a burgundy sleeve, the latter two for my lovely sister. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Valentine girl says:

My favorite quote about love comes from Rainer Maria Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet….
“For one human being to love another; that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation. I hold this to be the highest task for a bond between two people: that each protects the solitude of the other.
This is the miracle that happens every time to those who really love: the more they give, the more they possess.”

I would select Cédrat Enivrant and Trefle Pur in the lime green case. I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, because February 14th is my birthday, so as my best friend of 30 years is currently single, I would gift her with Cédrat Enivrant for Valentine’s Day to share the love and gift myself with Trefle Pur for my birthday! USA resident.

  • Favorite love song: Unbreak my Heart by Toni Braxton
Scents I would choose are Trefle Pur and Oolang Infini. Cover of case burgundy. I would gift it to my good friend Nino

  • I really wanted to post a romantic movie, but them realized I didn’t really have one. After looking at several list, I believe my favorite movie is Amelie – whimsical, child-like but not childish, with true emotion. I would chose Oolang Infini and Rose Anonyme with a lime green case. I live in the US. Thank you for the draw.

  • My favorite love story is Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I would like to win Ambre Nue and Orange Sanguine with a burgundy case. I would give to my love. Thanks for the draw! I’m in the US.

  • My first romantic movie I remember seeing is Dr. Zhivago, so I will pick it as my favorite, even though at the time I was too young to understand it!
I would choose Vanille Insensee and Ambre Nue in the Venetian Blue case for my daughter.
