Arabians Tonka by Montale Review+ Hype Beast Giveaway

Montale Arabians Tonka

Arabians Tonka by Montale by Steven

Launched in 2019 and still  going strong, Arabians Tonka by Montale is not the average oud and rose combination. While these ingredients are prominent, we are met with a heavy dose of tonka bean and sugar! The sweetness lingering in the base creates a delicious undertone that gently and elegantly carries all of the other volatile ingredients. A touch of oakmoss creates a bit of earthiness in the dry down while saffron lingers with its spicy appeal. The main players of the composition are tonka bean and sugar, and with these two taking the proverbial helm, we can expect Arabians Tonka to remain sweet for the entire life of the fragrance! -Steven Gavrielatos, Video Contributor

Top: Bergamot, Saffron
Heart: Bulgarian Rose, Oud
Base: Amber, Oakmoss, Tonka bean, Cane sugar, White musk.

My favorite part of Redolescence’s review is the way he describes the masculine and feminine associations that may be present in unisex fragrances based on the note breakdown

My favorite Montale fragrance is Intense Cafe. I’ve never owned a bottle of it but the sample I tried was amazing.

  • Stephen Adcock says:

Have several of there sister brand but have not tried Montale. I have heard and read alot about Arabian Tonka and would be interested in trying it.

  • Great video. My favorite montales is intense cafe, I am yet to try Arabian tonka but will do after this video

  • Steven helped me understand the Tonka role in this fragrance. I would not have thought that this is a fragrance that I would like, but after his presentation I will now purchase.

  • Emanuel Kovacs says:

Montale Arabian Tonkas is absoluty gorgeous, it has a nice bottle, and the smell it’s perfect, has a nice review of it. I think everyone would want this perfume!

  • I just bought Montale Roses Elixir today and am so curious of what else there is to discover from them❤️

  • Matthew Marsh says:

I enjoyed how Steven described the agarwood and darker notes being balanced out by the sweetness of the Tonka bean and sugar cane. I’ve sampled this fragrance and this is also why I find it unique.

  • Love this fragrance house they have such a large selection. I’m so happy to hear from Steven it is a unisex fragrance.I do like the bottle. As for the notes my favorite is rose and Oud. My favorites from this brand are mostly florals.

  • Sabrina Young says:

Steve always knows the right words to say to describe the smell of a fragrance that’s it’s so captivating, almost as if you can smell it yourself. My current favourite Montale fragrances are Ristretto Intense Cafe and Chocolate Greedy!

  • I always like his description of various fragrances and his knowledge about the designers. He talks about the star ingredient in the fragrance and what he feels it will do while mixing with the other ingredients, whether it’s a fragrance for the office, a night out etc . . . And lastly I like how he express the uniqueness and the over all smell, and the longevity of a fragrance.

I think Steven did a great job describing Arabian Tonka. His recommendations for when and where to wear the fragrance is spot on. I would love to try this fragrance, the notes sold me. I love Montale Fragrances, my favorite Montale Fragrance, is Sensual Instinct . Thank you for another opportunity

  • This smells really good. I have been wanting this since last year when I smelled it. I love me a good beast mode fragrance.

  • One of my favorite fragrance reviewers! I love all the notes in this fragrance. I’ve actually not tried any Montales, I have a couple Mancera’s and love them. Need a Montale! USA

  • I always enjoy Steven’s reviews. He is always so thorough and thoughtful in his reviews. As someone who loves Arabians Tonka I thought he described the sugary tonka perfectly. One of my favorite Móntales is Lucky Candy.

  • Sherin Thomas says:

My favotire is Intense cafe but I love to delve into middle eastern montale fragrances, from PA, USA

  • I haven’t tried many Montale but there was a Fig one I did want to try. Steven’s review is so thorough as always and it makes me think this is a great winter unisex fragrance. I am subscribed to redolessence and I live in the USA. I would love to try this Tonka beauty!

  • I really enjoy Steven’s reviews because of how he presents his content. He has made some great recommendations and I have enjoyed them. Montale Paris Dream is my favorite Montale fragrance but it’s the only one I have tried. I would really like to venture into Rose and Tonka beans sent’s since I don’t have any.

  • I love watching Redolessence’s videos. The information that is given to the fragrance gives a great example of how the fragrance smells from the different notes, and also when to wear it. Steven gives good info while being objective which is a good way to get someone interested in a fragrance rather than being subjective and saying it smells good, and that you should get it. My favoritr Montale fragrance would have to be honey oud. Even though I do not own it I am a huge fan of honey scents and this fragrance is amazing.

  • Ohhhhh! That added dose of tonka bean and sugar!!! I love Montale and I’m especially fond of the coffee ones. My favorite is Cafe Ristretto!

    I live in the USA.

  • I’m in the USA and I enjoyed the note breakdown Steven provided. I have yet to experience any Montale fragrances however Full Incense has been on my sampling wish list for a while and I’m curious to try this most popular offering from the house.

  • I love that this is described as not a ‘usual’ oud and rose. I know it’s been awhile since this combination had its moment, but I am still wearing my favorite oud/rose fragrances. I didn’t know much about the tonka as a note until now. Thanks Steven. Yes Montale is one of the more affordable in the niche world. I only own one, so I am jealous of Steven’s Montale amount. USA.

  • My favorite Montale is Intense Cafe, smells amazing and last absolutely forever. Arabians Tonka is one I’ve always heard people talk about but have never put my nose to it. It’s nice to hear Steven say that it has more of an original take to it especially considering how flooded the market seems to be with rose oud combos.

  • I don’t own any Montale fragrance, but in a recent trip, I stopped by a duty free and Arabian Tonka, of all the Montale I tried, was the one I liked most.

It’s strong and engulfed the rest of the test strips I sprayed before, but it was nice, with the oud/rose softened by the vanilla.

As Stephen said, it’s unisex, and not challenging, but it’s bold and will make you notice.

I loved the in-depth review of Steven’s review of Montale Arabians Tonka and appreciated the comparison to other fragrances from the brand and its sister company Mancera that I can check out to see if I enjoy those as well.
My favorite Montale perfume is a tie between Arabians Tonka and Intense Cafe.
My IG name is same as here; thargirl_kim__.

  • I have quite a few rose-oud fragrances but the addition of tonka and sugar really sets Arabian Tonka apart. The sweetness from those two notes combined with spicy saffron and earthy oakmoss makes for a simple but elegant scent. Favorite Montale is White Aoud

  • I appreciate Steve’s views on the universality of this fragrance, though I have felt it is more masculine to my nose.  Arabians Tonka by Montale is my favorite fragrance from the house ever since trying a sample and not only enjoying the opening, mid, and dry down, but the persistently beautiful scent from a tester strip I had days after spraying it.  For women, Roses Musk is pretty amazing too with that incredible sillage. • Mustafa Malik says:

I enjoy the way steven describes the fragrance as it gives u a way to understand what its smells like without actually smelling it and i’ve smelt it and its smells amazing and also heard its beast mode

  • Eris.can.swatch.kaos says:

This has been on my list since I began my perfume journey a year ago. I absolutely know I will love it and would like to make it my first Montale. Roses Musk is my favorite of the ones I’ve smelled by this brand, but Arabians Tonka might surpass it when I get my nose on it. Steven describes this fragrance beautifully and even makes comparisons, even though it’s a unique scent. I am a Redolessence subscriber and I follow Cafleurebon on insta at eris.can.swatch.kaos. I live in Oregon.

  • Arian Jamali says:

My favorite is Intense Cafe by Montale. Steven did an excellent job capturing the essence of Arabian Tonka. His suggestions on when and where to wear it are absolutely on point. The fragrance notes he described have completely won me over, and I’m eager to try it out. USA

  • Melinda Gaddy says:

I love unisex fragrances so I appreciated the way Chris highlighted how this fragrance strikes that perfect unisex balance. And my favorite Montale fragrance is Amore Cafe Intense Ristretto.

  • I have a sample of this that I use sparingly because I LOVE it makes me feel so sexy when I wear it. I smell it for hours it’s one of my favorites if not favorite fragrance.

  • Arabians Tonka by Montale is my ultimate guilty pleasure—a mesmerizing blend of saffron, rose, and oud with a gourmand twist that feels both luxurious and indulgent. What captivates me most is how it masterfully bridges two worlds, creating a scent that is as intriguing to the mind as it is to the nose. The sugary powderiness is perfectly balanced with the richness of oud, making it a fragrance that is both eccentric and provocative, yet somehow deeply familiar. I love how the tonka bean and cane sugar take center stage, creating a deliciously sweet base that carries the other volatile ingredients with elegance and grace. The saffron adds a spicy allure, while the oud and rose lend depth and sophistication. It’s a fragrance that feels bold and daring, yet incredibly wearable—a true masterpiece that lingers on the skin in the most addictive way. As Redolessence often highlights, Montale has a way of crafting fragrances that are both complex and approachable, and Arabians Tonka is no exception. It’s a scent that feels like a warm embrace, and I can’t get enough of its unique charm. Regards from NY 😉

  • What I enjoyed about Steven’s review is that he said it still has the traditional rose/oud combination but that it’s sweetened up with the tonka and sugar cane. I do gravitate to unisex leaning slightly feminine fragrances and would love to try Arabian’s Tonka.

I do not own any Montale fragrances but I have a sample of Vanilla Absolu and although it is very gourmand I do really enjoy it. Hopefully I get to add a new Montale very soon.

I do follow Steven’s YouTube channel and I live in the US.

  • This is a great fragrance. I did get a chance to sample it a while back. I would definitely love a full bottle of this fragrance. I don’t have any Montale fragrances in my collection.

Steven mentioned that this fragrance came out on 2019, that’s amazing. To me this fragrance was ahead of its time. I love that sugar cane note in the dry down. I also like how Steven mentioned this isn’t your typical Rose Oud fragrance. Im not a huge rose fan.

  • Making the rose and oud heart a secondary player to the combination of amber and tonka bean is an interesting choice. Steven pointed out that the tonka is still the star and it’s interesting how it tempers the rose and oud a bit. Arabians Tonka sounds very easy to wear. I haven’t tried any Montale fragrances, so I’d love to try this “long lasting”, “quite potent” one.

I’m in the USA. I follow @cafleurebonofficial on Instagram as @mmerline.

  • I’ve never owned a perfume from this brand but thanks to this review I think I’ll look into them. My favorite part of this review was how detailed it was. This is why I watch his reviews first every time because I know I won’t waste my time listening to someone ramble nonsense that doesn’t help. This guy always makes me feel like I used my time wisely and for that I’m grateful! I live in the usa

  • foreverscents says:

I love that Steven said that Arabians Tonka is not a typical oud rose fragrance. He stressed the tonka bean note, noting how it makes the fragrance a bit more unconventional. He mentioned that the sugar note contributes to this. I also liked that Steven said Arabians Tonka has an extroverted personality, not necessarily safe for the office. It sounds perfect for date night.
    I live in the USA.

  • I defenitely need to get my nose on this because the hype made me curious. This is a great addition on my collection. Thanks

  • I love yo add this one in my collection. This is a beast mode frangrance. Looking forward in recieving this. Thanks. Im from USA
