Maître Parfumeur Lucien Ferrero with his latest release Rose Abricot from his Anthologie by Lucien Ferrero collection wanted “to represent the velvety touch of the petals of this wonderful apricot rose that blooms in my garden, on a gourmand base sustained by modern ambery notes.” Rose Abricot sensual petals and delicious fruits never gets too sweet. There’s an elegant balance of the two wrapped in cozy musk and woods. Summer days to enjoy all year round.

Bergamot’s citrus freshness drips like sunlight down neroli’s soft green leaf green stems. There’s a tender bite of bitter thorns that softens as you reach the top as Rose Abricot blooms transforming into a soft haze of florals. Gentle berry like aromas swirl with hints of orange giving a light sweetness to the unfurling peony petals that form a bed for a velvety powdery rose to blossom on. You can feel the  petals of the rose, a gentle firmness with a sensual velvet texture, it’s almost a fine powder it’s that soft. Rose Abricot envelops you in its rosy aura with a cosy feel of powdery musky woods giving the rose a gentle weight, airy and light with a refined elegance. A  honeyed glow whispers of light spices feeling like its flower is dense with petals fresh from morning dew.

Sweet jammy notes are released as the rose opens. Bright sticky apricot aromas give a lovely contrast to the soft velvet petals of the rose. The fruitiness gives a lovely playful edible feel to more refined rose giving Rose Abricot a summery joyousness. The creamy fruitiness of the apricot slides seductively over the rose petals melting into the velvet texture where it’s meets. Powdery ionones keep the rose feeling powdery and soft, absorbing the fruits and making it become one with the rose. There’s a lovely use of Ambroxan and musks keeping Rose Abricot feeling light and airy with a lovely clean feel. It has that casual luxury of a high end spa, with sleek blonde wood furniture present adding to the ambience but it’s not the star, it’s rose and apricots delightful dance of fruit fresh and elegant depth with powdery woods as support. It’s the kind of fruity aroma you want to sink your teeth into the feel the gentle embraces of the rose petals.

As Rose Abricot dries down you can feel the apricot darken. Lucien Ferrero cleverly uses raspberry to extend its fruity facets while beautifully merging with the rose giving it more depth letting its darker tones make the brighter ones shine. It’s a lovely contrast of plump fruity aromas and soft velvet petals, you can feel them move over each other with a playful grace. There’s also a lovely tang of blackcurrant near the end of Rose Abricot’s dry down, it’s gives a darker juiciness to the rose. Teasing out more body, letting the roses sensuality shine for those who get close to you.

  • Rose Abricot is a subtle, fruity gourmand with an muscat apricot that is juicy and realistic paired seamlessly with star notes of Turkish Rose, bergamot, neroli, musky, woody and ambery notes to evoke memories of summertime that can easily transition to fall and spring as well. It exudes an elegant balance that is sensual and harmonious while having a clean, fresh playful feel.

  • I can’t think of another rose apricot. But it sounds incredible! I love the tart and sweet of apricot and the warm and spice of rose. So overall they are both perfect for each other. I am located in the USA. Thank you for the generous giveaway.

  • While I am not usually a lover of rose perfumes, J’s definitely has me rethinking. Sensual, gourmand and velvety capturing peach roses straight from his garden, sound gorgeous. Eu reader

  • J’s review makes Rose Abricot feel like sunlight caught in petals—soft, golden, and alive with warmth. The dance between velvety rose and ripe apricot sounds utterly enchanting, like summer’s sweetness draped in silk. I’m drawn to how it seems both tender and radiant, a fragrance that breathes in whispers of musk and amber yet still glows with playful grace. It feels like a love letter to the fleeting beauty of a garden in bloom.

  • What really sparks my interest about Rose Abricot is the whole idea suggested by the name and theme, a rose painted with an apricot tint that leans plush, juicy and textured rather than sharp or jammy. I love florals that feel skin-like and tactile, so the promise of a “velvety bloom” built around that rose and apricot pairing sounds right in my lane, especially from a perfumer as experienced as Lucien Ferrero and a line like Anthologie that seems to focus on carefully framed, characterful accords instead of overload.

    I live in the USA.

  • This sounds so beautiful…!
A modern take on rose, light and easy.
I would love to add it to my collection.

The take on a rose fragrance here it’s one that’s playful and ambery at the base. There’s a few citruses at the top to start the fragrance and then give way to the star which is the rose. There a also a powdery feel according to J and roses do mix well with those facets as it softens the aroma of a rose. I’d be very interested to see what this smells like on someone’s skin and how it develops. This is a unique take on a rose and we need more of those innovative POVs in perfumery. I’m located in the USA.

  • I love gardening and especially roses – my Mother’s favorite. I do enjoy fragrances with a blackcurrant note and it’s mentioned in the end of Rose Abricot’s dry down. Thanks for another wonderful review and draw. MI USA

  • I’m so intrigued by the ambroxan bringing that musky cozy feel to a jammy fruity rose. This sounds amazing! I’m in Austin, TX

Beautiful notes in this fragrance as it sounds truly wonderful!! Loved the journey through top, heart, and base notes of this rose. Rose Abricot sounds uniquely soft and creamy, full of blooming roses, ripe juicy apricot and bright raspberries wrapped in cozy Musks. There is something very romantic about it. So beautiful and sensual. A joy to wear anytime and anywhere. As a rose lover cannot ignore Rose Apricot, I am particularly intrigued by the clean fresh playful feel of this rose scent and also by the interesting twist of the fruity facets in the drydown, which are becoming more prominent and roses shine more a velvety depth. Like J describes “It’s a lovely contrast of plump fruity aromas and soft velvet petals, you can feel them move over each other with a playful grace”.
Beautifully written! Definitely need to get my hands on this one.
    Thank you for the opportunity!

The way J describes the texture is what truly captivates me. The idea of a scent not just smelling of apricot and rose, but feeling like “velvety petals” and a “fine powder” is exceptionally compelling. It transforms the perfume from a simple blend of notes into a tactile experience. I’m particularly intrigued by the mention of ionones and powdery woods being used to “absorb” the fruitiness, making it one with the rose. This suggests a masterful, seamless fusion rather than a simple layering. The contrast J paints between the bright, sticky apricot and the dark, tangy whispers of blackcurrant in the drydown promises a fragrance with thoughtful development. It avoids the pitfall of being a linear, overly sweet fruity-floral. Instead, it sounds like a rose with intelligent shadows and light, where the “darker tones make the brighter ones shine.” The impression of “casual luxury” and a “clean, fresh playful feel” is a spark of interest. It suggests a scent that is refined and elegant, yet utterly wearable and joyous a sophisticated composition that doesn’t take itself too seriously. This balance is rare and exactly what makes me want to experience this garden for myself. I am from the EU.

  • The velvety, powdery rose petals infused with juicy apricot and that playful contrast of bright fruit against cozy musks – it’s like summer’s garden in a bottle, elegant yet biteable. I live in Poland, EU

  • What captivates me most about Rose Abricot is the sophisticated restraint J describes—a fruity floral that resists the temptation to become cloying or one-dimensional. The interplay between the velvety rose petals and the juicy apricot, anchored by those clean ambroxan and musk notes, suggests a perfume with real textural depth. I’m particularly drawn to how the composition evolves, with the apricot darkening into blackcurrant and raspberry notes that add complexity and sensuality to the rose without overwhelming it.
It’s the kind of thoughtful fragrance design that speaks to someone who appreciates layered scents—one that’s elegant enough for refined moments but playful enough for everyday wear. The garden inspiration feels genuine rather than marketing flourish, and that balance between “casual luxury” and genuine wearability is exactly what I look for.
I’m located in the EU (Netherlands).

  • I love the way J described the contrast of the scent close to you and the air around you. Those who get close to you get to experience something different, and that appeals to me. The whole of Rose Abricot appeals to me! I am in the US.

  • I love roses. I love fruity roses. I love sweet roses. I love spicy roses. I love edible roses. I love dark and sensual roses. I love joyful and happy roses. I’m in the USA

  • I’m intrigued by the description of candied rose petals and creamy fruit. That, and I don’t believe I’ve ever smelled a fragrance with Apricot as a dominant note.

  • I love the combination of rose and apricot. I think they complement each other really well. I remember when I first smelled PHI Une Rose de Kandahar by Tauer which was rocking the same mix of rose and apricot… it blew my socks off! Really looking forward to finding another lovely heavenly match of these two ingredients. Thanks! Europe

  • Rose has to be very specifically done for me and I feel like Rose Abricot will hit the right notes! I love the combination with the apricot- it sounds amazing. J’s description of the creaminess and softness of this perfume sounds lovely.

  • Delicate, feminine and a beautiful fragrance for a spring/summer day! The combination of rose and apricot sounds delightful and the use of high quality Turkish rose absolute and petit muscat apricot elevates the scent to something special. I like the idea of the velvet touch of the rose petal on a modern gourmand and amber base. MD, USA

  • crownroyale47 says:

I love how the review paints Rose Abricot as this elegant, fruity-rose scent that stays refined instead of syrupy. The mix of velvety rose petals, soft apricot, clean musks, and airy woods sounds like the kind of quiet luxury I naturally gravitate toward. It feels unique, playful, and upscale in that bougie, effortless way that makes people lean in and say, “You smell amazing.” And the idea of a scent that feels like a fresh summer garden but still wearable year-round definitely sparks my interest. I’m from the U.S. – New Jersey.

  • What a gorgeous review — it actually made me feel the texture of the rose. I love how Lucien Ferrero captures that velvety, powder-soft petal without making it sugary. The apricot and berry facets sound mouthwatering, but still elegant and airy, like a summer garden you can wear in every season. I especially love that clean spa-like nuance with the blonde woods and musk’s — it makes Rose Apricot feel both luxurious and effortless. This sounds like a rose that people who don’t even like rose would still fall for.

  • Oh I love this niche brand despite being very hard to find in the USA. I’m intrigued by the notes as rose as is one of my favourite notes as are neroli and sandalwood. Based in USA

  • I looove the fact that there is bergamot in here. I like that it transforms into soft florals. I only tried peaches not apricots in perfumery so super curious. Feels like a nice better than clean citrus rose, super excited to try. Im from eu.

  • I find it interesting that it starts bright, clean and playful and it goes darker as it dries down and has a lovely contrast between the notes. I get that is heavily focused on roses and apricot, but it seems to be luxurious and not your normal fruity floral. I have also noticed the understated simple aesthetics of the bottle and label, it would look lovely on display.
Thanks, I am in the EU.

  • Raspberry and apricot are two of my favorite fruits. I love that the rose is powdery. I am a fan of rose and this one seems a bit more approachable with the soft woods. Thanks for the chance. USA .

  • Shibuichi2000 says:

Rose Abricot sounds light, sunny, joyous – as you’d expect from a carefree summer rose. I’m not sure if it’s the same, but I have an orange petals rose in my garden that smells like sundried fruits – apples, like my grandmother usee to prepare them for the winter. That’s where J’s review took me – in a long forgotten summer holiday, where the days were sunny and everything was perfect.

  • While Anthologie is decidedly a sweet floral, it sounds somewhat restrained, favoring soft tones instead of blaring fruit and heady bouquet. “It has that casual luxury of a high end spa, with sleek blonde wood furniture present adding to the ambience but it’s not the star, it’s rose and apricots delightful dance of fruit fresh and elegant depth with powdery woods as support.” The choice to keep this somewhat sheer seems to have paid off. Classy.

    Hi there,

It was lovely to read about this new scent and I have to admit the note of neroli really piqued my interest…Not that rose and apricot aren’t interesting, but lately I’ve been experimenting at home with layering “pure” neroli scents with other florals and fruits, so this one sounds very game for that.
Last week we visited a spa on Governor’s Island for my birthday, and it seemed as if each room was scented differently. When you mentioned this as reminding of a “high-end spa”, I think maybe I smelled something very similar to it in one of the relaxation rooms! It amazed me how so many different scents could be aligned with wellness and relaxation, and I enjoyed(almost) all of them. Nice memories! Thanks.

  • The part about the apricot darkening is particularly appealing to me. I find many apricot notes a bit too bright, so I’m interested in seeing how this perfumer is able to transform it. I have also never tried alongside rose before. Sounds like a unique take on a fruity floral! USA

  • Really enjoyed your review — Anthologie by Lucien Ferrero “Rose Abricot” sounds absolutely beautiful. The idea of soft apricot notes swirling with delicate rose, then fading into a warm, velvety base, evokes a cozy spring afternoon with a touch of sweetness and light. Definitely feels like a fragrance that’s gentle yet memorable.

  • Oh happy day! The rose fragrance I’ve been waiting for! I’ve wanted a juicy fruity light rose. No oud, just clear, glassy goodness. If that makes sense. When J said “all year round” I knew this was it. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to try it!

Thanks for the giveaway chance. I’m in the USA.

Thanks for the lovely review! Anthologie by Lucien Ferrero Rose Abricot feels like a soft blush of sunrise in bloom — fresh apricot and juicy peach opening into a delicate crowd of rose petals that flutter like silk against the skin. As the fruit sweetness warms, a gentle vanilla-musk base emerges, adding a subtle creamy depth that stops the florals from feeling too fleeting. What really spoke to me is how this scent balances youthful brightness with mature softness — joyful yet tender, like a memory of summer mornings. I’d love to try Rose Abricot!

  • A description of a loving ode to its muse and creator. This would be a great springtime wear and a lighter, blanketing scent that covers it all without being cloying. I imagine clean and unique.
